Pros: The hotel has style and color. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Blackout shade was great. Rooms come with water bottles that can be refilled with regular, bubbly or hot water. The price is reasonable and the location is convenient. There is a bar/restaurant on the first floor.

Cons: There is a bar/restaurant on the first floor. It stays open until 1 am on Friday and Saturday nights, and when I was there the noise was loud enough to keep me awake, even on the sixth floor, and when it closed, the noise continued outside for a little while. Also, the rooms and bathrooms are extremely small and cramped. There is no chair, only a small, round, discolored ottoman (no back), and no desk, just a strange little pull-down device which one would have to sit on the bed to use. There is very little room to put anything in either the rooms or the bathrooms, and the bathrooms had a slight mildewy smell. The hotel charges extra for amenites which are meager and usually included at other places, although when I protested this was waived.

Rooms are very very small. Bed was comfortable, but overall the room lacked surfaces to put anything on, especially noticeable in the bathroom with no sink counter or ledge to put even a toothbrush or toiletry bag. No closet, no table or chair, no useable mirrors, other than in the bathroom. No mini fridge or accessible ice. Shampoo was watered down to the point of being unusable, and the room’s temperature was hard to control-it was either very cold or very hot. Overall, there was not much care put into the property or rooms, though the decor was appealing. We do not care for the two separate bed comforters on the king, would prefer one big. The best part about this hotel is the location in Boston’s south end, easily walkable to Newbury street, Boston Common and the theatre district. If you want a no frills stay in a good location in Boston, this is it.

We were coming from out of town. Checking in was fine. When we checked into our room it was 80 DEGREES!!! Turns out the heat was on. Air conditioning wasn't working. When we called the front desk, they said they completely shut off the AC during the winter and that we should open a window to have some breeze. We tried to open the window and the window was broken and wouldn't lock in place.

The hallway and the bathroom were a reasonable temperature so we found it hard to believe that the AC was turned off. Unfortunately we believe the AC was broken and the heat was the only thing working. (Side note: the window shades had multiple rips and tears, definitely something that should be replaced.)

My Husband and I could not stay under those conditions, we also believe that no other customer should be staying in a room that was 80 degrees.

We left 10-15 minutes within being in the room. We did not receive any type of compensation for somewhere we didn't stay.

We decided to stay at THE GODFREY HOTEL. Which we have stayed prior and it was AMAZING. When we told them about our experience with pineapple they upgraded our room! So if your looking for an amazing room with working air conditioning I would recommend The Godfrey hotel downtown Boston. The best staff and experience.

Expedia only gave us a $20 credit.....

The beds were incredibly comfortable. We loved the individual duvets. The decor and ambiance were amazing. The staff was kind. The snack pack upgrade was very disappointing and sparse vs the picture. However, the overall experience was memorable.

Boutique hotel in a very walkable area. Not a lot of food stores or restaurants, several parking garages ( but at the hotel)
The hotel has a bar restaurant. Surprisingly good food ( tried just two items)
Not a fan of the $30 resort fee. If price wise you are ok with that when included ( i paid $600 for 4 nights all taxes and resort fee included) it's not bad for Boston. Water provided. The keurig i didn't use. Needed to be cleaned. One night neighbors were loud but shut up once i knocked on their door, no issues. Building a tad old but not poor. Overall good stay.

Very cute and well branded. Had to move rooms after the first toilet didnt work. Sadly they said the fixed it but hadnt. 2nd room we could not control the heat. Is an older quirky building which i get. The people were awesome and loved that the bar was an actual local hang out... if the room quirks are fixed i would gladly go back

The bed was hard, the front desk makes no sense and was very awkward to use. The room was clean but you could hear the music from the bar upstairs on the second floor. It was just an ok place, I booked it based on the reviews and I can agree with it being clean but that's pretty m much it really. I also did NOT appreciate the stuffed dog in the bed, my dog immediately went right for it and I had to pay $30 for an over priced stuffed dog that clearly was worth only $10 at the most. They should or those stuffed animals where a dog cannot get to it and allow the visit to decide whether or not to buy it. I felt it was a very sneaky move on their end and again I didn't appreciate it at all. The good at the restaurant was really good, but I will not be staying here again based on the comfort level, the stuffed animal situation and the rooms are super tiny.

Charged a $29 amenity fee that was not disclosed when I checked in. Heat was on way too high with no way to control it. The bathroom sink is tiny. I also did not appreciate when the man who checked me in made a remark how my name sounded like a martial arts movie star (I’m Chinese). I come to Boston frequently and have stayed at many local hotels and would not stay here again.

Excellent customer service, free water/seltzer for water bottles, bar connected to hotel with great breakfast (weekend only), adorable room decor, comfy bed, nice size tv, small keurig inside room and staff let my daughter & I stay in lobby area until time to leave for airport. The only reason I gave 4 stars is bc the size of the bathroom. Stand-up shower plus spa shower head was lovely, but overall very small space. Tiny sink and def can’t have 2 ppl in space at one time except if 1 person in shower. Please don’t let that deter you from staying at hotel because it’s lovely. There is a $25 daily resort fee, make sure you set that side if on a budget. Back Bay T stop abt 8 min walk super close & 15 min from Prudential Center shopping. Thank you for wonderful stay!

In an extremely cute area - a short walk and you're in this beautiful neighborhood with great shops and food. The hotel staff were so incredibly nice. The room was very comfortable. The bathroom is a little small, but very clean and has a great shower. Would absolutely stay here again!

The staff were friendly, the location was conveniently located making it easy to walk around the city and overall the rooms were very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the bedding and aesthetic of the rooms.

The hotel is in a very old building and there were a few things that could have been fixed. The water knob was loose and kept falling during a shower, leaving us showering with extremely hot water. There was a hole in the wall where the electrical box was (the cover was taken off and never replaced). The walls are extremely thin. After 10pm you could hear every little thing the neighbours were saying and 2 of our 4 nights were could barely sleep due to the sounds of music, tv, and screaming from adjacent rooms.

For the price we paid we would have expected a higher quality room, especially since there is a “resort fee” cost for basic things like water and wifi that we would have rather opt out of.

Most of the staff was great, especially Cynthia! It would be great if there was food available more than between the hours of 4-11. The bar staff could also be a bit kinder to women who are staying in the hotel. Everyone was great with my dog but the communication was pretty poor. I was told that I was booked through Thursday night by one person and then had to scramble for somewhere to stay on my last night in town with less than an hour notice. The person who told me this wasn’t very kind and i got locked out of my room while my dog was in there. There was no one at the desk and it was all very stressful. Overall, it was okay but I would stay somewhere else next time.

We checked in and checked out within 15 minutes. The photos make the rooms appear much larger. In reality they are very small. No closets, only wall hooks. Minimal space to walk around the bed. Drawers under the bed are the only storage. The bathroom has a tiny pedestal sink with no counter space at all. The photos do not show the bathrooms accurately. We were in town for a wedding and there was no practical way to get ready in that room.

The front desk agent, Reshawn, was professional and very kind. Hotels dot com contacted the property and the hotel agreed to cancel the stay and refund the first night since we did not stay. After we left they declined to honor that commitment. Because of this reversal I am compelled to write this review to warn others that the hotel did not follow through on what it promised.

Quirky little Hotel in a quiet residential area of South End. Reception staff were excellent, room was decked out in the Pineapple theme - very good. Bar on site - good but only used it once as we were here to explore. Back Bay T Station is 5 min walk & 3 stops to centre of Boston. I would recommend this hotel to anyone & everyone.

Loved this hotel!! Room only, very comfy bed and bedding - 2 duvets so you no longer have to fight for your half….. genius!!! Loved all of the little extras, silky robes, coffee maker with tea pods (I’m a tea drinker and so many places only supply coffee) free metal water bottle and fresh/chilled/gas water machine in the reception alongside free coffee all day. In the Back Bay Area which is super lovely and we walked from here into Boston which was about 20 mins and also back from Fenway Park after a game which was about 30-40 mins but was very safe. Also very close to the Avis/Budget garage when you need to collect the hire car!! Would highly recommend!

Hotel priced like a five star but rooms were the size of a closet with limited housekeeping. Our room was 60 degrees - freezing! When we asked for help to make the room warmer we were told management did not plan to turn the heat on for another week. They brought us a space heater that was loud and dangerous. We turned it off and nearly froze to death. We will never come back here at any price. Beware - the front desk did not have any concerns about our satisfaction.

This property was in such a great area and walkable distance to many sights in Boston. I traveled for a birthday and they accommodated decorations free of charge. The staff were on site late into the night and available to help. Room was comfortable and the Trophy Room restaurant on the bottom floor was nice and LGBTQ+ friendly.

The guest “amenity” charge is outrageous, especially at $24.95 per day. I used no amenities aside from the one water bottle that states it’s complimentary on the tag and the three coffee pods that were provided. I didn’t have housekeeping come into my room, so nothing was replenished, so what exactly am I being charged for at such a rate times three? What amenities? Quite frankly, $24.95 a day is exorbitant for what is "provided." And especially when all I had is the water and three coffee pods for all three days/nights. I would much rather pay for what I actually use than be charged for what I don't under the guise of friendly service/convenience. But it is what it is. Now I know not to stay at another one of thrse locations during my next travels. Very disappointing. Because I did like the hotel, but what I don't like is the pretense of"pineappley" service when it's just blatant highway robbery.
