The restaurant holds the international “Restaurants from Spain” certification granted by ICEX, ensuring a culinary experience that remains rigorously faithful to its roots.

Designed to host everything from workshops to corporate meetings, the hotel features three functional meeting rooms: Arpoador (with ocean views), Ipanema, and Leblon. To conclude a business day or host an exclusive social event, the Viva Rooftop and the Upper Pool provide an open-air setting with one of the city’s most exclusive views: the meeting point between Ipanema Beach and Arpoador.

Best location right between Copacabana and Ipanema. My favorite part was the rooftop decks. You can see Christ the Redeemer and Sugar Loaf, as well as the rock at Ipanema where everyone watches the sunset.

Staff are very helpfull and nice. Rooftop has an amazing view. Rooms are pretty small and breakfast is good but it’s the same food everyday. VIP gold status from Expedia only gets you 20% off once on your meal. It’s almost nothing.

The hotel was very clean, staff was very friendly, check in was easy and the staff was able to accommodate my needs for an early check in. Sara at front desk was very helpful and attentive to all my needs. Breakfast had a great variety of fruits, pastries, eggs, breads, cheeses, etc… the location is great walking distance to Copacabana beach, Ipanema beach and Arpoador beach. Lots of restaurants and bars close by.

I asked for a quiet room and was assured it would be very quiet. I was put beside 3 very loud young women who like to party late. The walls are paper thin. Needless to say I didn't sleep well. Beware if you want a quiet hotel.

Breakfast, along with a trove of other things, is out of management's control. Coffee is an odyssey to get. Either no pump jars, or substitute broken machines, it takes quite a while to have your morning caffeine dose. Food choices are limited, yoghurt is watery at best, and good luck getting a spoon.

The staff were lovely, absolutely wonderful; the location, unsurpassable. In terms of the amenities, however, this was four-star in name only. The gym was a perfunctory affair, with enough space for no more than two people to work out at once, and the swimming pool was diminuitive. In the bathroom, there was shower gel in lieu of antibacterial handwash (I had to buy my own), and shampoo was not provided - even the toilet paper was of the lowest quality. There were no tea or coffee-making facilities in the room, which are to be expected at a hotel of this grade. The \"minibar\" had only full-sugar cokes and still waters, no snacks and no alcohol. The breakfast had no whole or unprocessed meats and the coffee was very basic. Based on the facilities versus the price, I could not recommend the Arena Ipanema, despite the great service.

This hotel has 3 things going for it: excellent customer service all around, location (beautiful beach behind the hotel accessible from a park next to the hotel), and good breakfast buffet of local dishes, fresh fruits, good coffee,
and a wide assortment of bake goods.
On the negative side, the rooms are clean, but tiny and and not much room to even open suitcases or walk around. Don't plan on using the room for anything other than sleeping and showering. Don't expect any extras like wash cloths or hair conditioners.
Given the location and the price, I would stay here again.

Arena Ipanema is an excellent choice for a hotel stay. Nice clean rooms. Included breakfast is a nice bonus. Great location, quick walk to Ipanema Beach, a lot of restaurants nearby. Staff was very nice from check in to check out (including housekeeping). They were quick to address the sudden loud noise coming from guests upstairs. The young lady at the front desk always had a genuine ready smile whenever we passed by. Shout out to David Santos who would stay with us outside and chatted as we waited for Uber. You can tell he genuinely loved interacting with the hotel guests. We highly recommend this hotel.

This was my 5th stay at Arena, unfortunately it was not the best. More cold showers than hot, when I complained the maintenance came within minutes and said the heating had been off for a period. Same problem repeated every day.

My business colleague in a different room experienced the same issue.

The lifts were completely broken for several hours and suffered from random unavailability in the day following the issue.

The hotel leaks when it rains, experienced this in previous stays and again on my last day. Lucky not directly impacted by this, this time.

There was an attempt by a young man to smash through a glass wall into the hotel at 2:38am but he ended up cut up and bleeding as shards of glass rained down upon him. Not the hotels fault but security did take a long time to investigate what was going on.

As a regular traveller to Rio I’ll give them one more chance because of previous enjoyable stays but cold showers are unacceptable for a hotel that claims to be 4 stars.

The hotel is super nice and not too $$.

Rooftop is very cool. Cute little pool with some tables to sit.

Location is 10/10... legit right on the beach Arpoador.

Security - very safe. They are super strict after 11pm... have to show your face to a camera to unlock the door and any visitors not on the reservation have to check in at front desk and show ID/passport.

Room - very nice and modern. Clean, nice showers.

Front desk was very helpful with activities such as helicopter tour and how to get to sugarloaf and christ.

Breakfast was delicious and nice buffet.

I am staying here next Rio visit, no doubt!!

The hotel and service are excellent and the location is fabulous. A couple of suggestions to make it even better:
1. The shower in our room (804) leaks flooding the bathroom. Could this be fixed?
2. Coffee and tea facilities as well as a paper tissue box are standard amenities that were missing.
3. The hotel is by the beach, yet there is no shower or even a tap by the entrance, forcing guests to enter the lobby and their rooms covered in sand.
4. There are no umbrellas for the guests, and we were forced to leave under the rain (again, a standard amenity.
Apart from those details, everything was perfect.

The staff at the hotel are awesome!The.location is amazing. I was only there for one night for business. I realty didn’t get a chance to even get to the rooftop. They acknowledged all my Gold benefits and gave me an early check in and late checkout. When I have to go back to Rio, I will definitely return to this hotel. Highly recommend!

This is our fourth time staying here since they opened and Arena Hotel continues to be the lodging of choice for us. We love the hotel. It’s clean, quiet and comfortable and the location is ideal for us. Also, a special shout out to Josefa, the nice lady who cleaned our room each day. She did a great job and we always enjoyed saying hi to her each morning.

I loved this hotel! Clean, sleek, cool. Spacious rooms. Amazing rooftop with pool and bar that overlooks Arpoador Beach. Also, you are right on that beach!! So the location can’t be be beat. The breakfast exceeded my expectations. The staff are so professional, friendly, and kind. My only complaint is that the walls in the room are very thin. You could hear complete conversations or even someone snoring in room next door. Besides that, a perfect stay. I would lodge here again.

Our stay at Arena Ipanema Hotel, was great. The staff was friendly, and fun. The check-in/out process was easy.

We stayed during NYE, and there was security on-site which added a level of security during our stay.

The fitness center was extremely small but we found a gym with an inexpensive day pass just an uber drive away.

Overall the experience was great and we will be returning!

This is my 5th stay at the Arena Ipanema - it is a good hotel in a good area, walkable to Ipanema and Copacabana beaches and only meters from Arpoador.

The staff are usually very helpful and nice. The rooms are not the largest but fine for a short stay. I travelled with my teenage son this time and he enjoyed the pool and roof top area to relax.

The hotel restaurant is good and some good restaurants are with walkable distance.

This is NOT a 4-star property, even if 3. If it wasn't for the superb location of Ipanema Beach (Posto 7), and only needing a room for 2 nights, I would have checked out and gone elsewhere. Overall, everything about this hotel is tired: the breakfast area is too small for the size of this hotel, which makes the entire ambience feel basement like; the roof top area looks really sad, dated and unkempt (so uninviting,I didn't even utilise the free welcome drinks voucher I was given). My room had a faulty bathroom (taps not working, shower leaking), which got fixed once reported - however, it wasnt done in a way made to last nor did it leave the bathroom very inviting. In this instance,I think i should have just been offered another room but it was very apparent that no one even cared to check how/ to what standard it got fixed. The entire property appears to be done on the cheap and with minimal effort of care. The only saving grace about this hotel is the location.
