Room was visibly old. Broken bath button; flaking bathroom door; stained bed sheets; a/c remote out of battery. Also, there was a staff member at breakfast (Pedro) who was passive aggressive towards our 3-year-old daughter playing with the cushions. She was only sorting them by color (the ones NOT being used by other guests). No noise, no jumping; just silently playing.

Caution for parents with toddlers: there is a window in the bathroom half a meter high with enough clearance to fit a child.

Breakfast was fairly good and the rest of the staff quite friendly. We even got an extra bed as complimentary. However, due to the other issues, we don’t plan on coming back.

This was an ideal place for us to stay with a small infant. The room was excellent and the staff, lovely.
One thing i would have preferred is if there wasnt such bright light bulbs. It was very harsh and gave no ambient lighting so was hard to get baby to sleep even with just one lamp light on.

The location of the hotel was perfect, with easy access to nearby attractions and restaurants. I was able to explore the area easily and enjoy all that it had to offer. My room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with all the amenities I could need for a relaxing stay. But what truly set this hotel apart was the staff. They went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was enjoyable, from providing recommendations for things to do in the area to making sure that all of my needs were met.

Great place, perfect location

Overall, a great experience, as someone would expect from any Mercure hotel.
The only downside was the kettle in the room. It wasn't working and they didn't fix it after I mentioned about the problem.
The best part here is the location. You're a stone throw from Japan House, Itaú Cultural, SESC (all culture-based places).
Paulista Avenue is the main road in the city, bringing together many shopping centres, cafés, department stores and the best connection via underground to most of the city centre.

I am sad to say that the Mercure Sao Paolo Grand Plaza Paulista is the worst hotel I have stayed in in decades. I booked a 4-star hotel but this hotel is no more than a 2-star hotel. The rooms are terrible.

The hotel was right by paulista ave. We walked to it and then up and down paulista ave many times. Lots of little shops and food especially on sunday.
The housekeeping staff was good. They were always cleaning and supplying towels.
The front desk staff was great- we needed to change our room to fit 3 people a few days after we got there. Instead of having to check out and wait till 2 to check back in the girl just switched are room right then. Saved us a lot of stress and she didnt have to do it.
The restraunt wasn't so good, maybe it was an off day

The area is good! But overall, the hotel needs an urgent refurbish, the breakfast was bellow average (there was no butter first day), and the internet sucks! Never above 1Mb. If you need internet access, you´d better look for another hotel.

It's was a nice stay overall, but there were some things that feels like management is out of touch with the property. For example, some of the lights had wiring issues and broke. I was surprised to find there was not an iron/ironing board in the room? And then the biggest thing that stood out was not having a trash can inside the room. The only one was the small one in the bathroom for toilet paper, so it didn't have enough space for drink containers. I think if the general manager spent a night in the hotel it would provide some perspective of what could be improved. A big thing that would also greatly improve the quality are the mattresses. Outside of that though, most of the staff was helpful.

Tired furniture in the room. No wifi in the room despite signal being present. Staff told me that they are aware of this but they did not do anything to fix the problem. So i could not work from room. They elaborated that they did not update the system so i could not use my iphone. Overall disappointing hotel.

The room was old fashioned, no coffee maker, the filters of the airconditioning were full with dust, took them out but nobody cleaned them for 4 days.

Pros-
1. Great location both for personal or professional stay. Tons of things to do, restaurants around.
2. Safe neighborhood
3. Clean/Neat rooms - 3.5 star
4. Friendly & helpful reception staff/bell boy.
5. Decent wi-fi

Cons -
1. Limited room service menu
2. Like most other Sao Paulo Hotels the breakfast is extremely basic
3. Sometimes a bit frustrating as the staff managing breakfast/room service don't speak English.

Overall, would recommend a stay here.

Two blocks from Paulista Ave, so easy to catch the subway or a bus, or simply go walking for shopping, restaraunts, or entertainment. About a two mile walk to Ibiripuera Park (not bad). Use uber instead of taxis! Only downfall during our visit was construction at the building next door that started early.

Convenient and quiet hotel

Room was clean and quiet with private balcony although some furniture looks old and view was blocked by another building. Location is one block away from busy street(Paulista), so great access to shopping and commercial area but quiet around the building.

Convenient clean hotel with good room size

Room and bathroom were good, breakfast was satisfactory (only bad note was for the quality of the free coffee offered), staff was helpful and front desk speak several languages. Cheaper than other 4 star hotels I use to go and more than good enough for business purposes.
In addition to better coffee (not a 4 star hotel standard), the other thing that needs serious improvement is the restaurant menu. Food was ok, but the offer was extremely narrow and basic. What you would expect from a 2 star / 3 star hotel.
There are restaurants around, so that is not a serious problem, but it would be very nice to have a good menu available for meetings or dinner after a long day of work.
I will consider the hotel for my next visit.

The room is spacious and the shower has great pressure. It is located on a street with little traffic and unlike many other hotels in the area it is very quiet. The breakfast is sumptuous and staff is very cordial and helpful. People in this hotel go the extra mile and their professionalism was impressive.

Everything was great, until early in the morning when there was a lot of noise from an adjacent building site. Also on the day of the check out I was overcharged for the night that was already charged on my hotels.com I called back a couple days later to get a refund and I have not seen the refund.

Nice hotel.clean.the hotel has two elevators and on our last day only one was working. No impact for us. Overall the room was very clean.do was the bathroom. The only negative for the room was the doors on the large closet was bit difficult to open. The wooden track was worn. Other than that it was a good room.
Definitely stay again. The buffet was a little smaller than most but clean and good tasting. Nice fresh fruit....Id give it 8 out of 10.

Very pleasant overnight stay, fast checking. Comfortable bed, dark, quiet room. Arrived tired at 2AM, I was expected, went to my room, shower and could sleep uninterrupted. The breakfast was not fantastic but effective and sufficient, without the trimmings. Disappointedly in Brazil the expresso machine did not work! But the room and cleanliness made up for it. Very economic, central option, perfect for a short stay in Sao Paulo!

Hotel has balcony which was a big plus for me.

The hotel was nearby my sister's business and home. Location perfect. Easy parking. Quiet. Clean and friendly staff
Breakfast was on the spot. Excellent choices of food and fruits.
I'd insist on returning to it next time I visit Brazil.

This hotel is over priced, internet is very very slow, free internet 256k and payed internet is only 700k.

I had to move to another hotel because meeting via Webex was impossible. The stuff told me the payed internet was 60MB speed, I could't believe on what he said of course.

Nice hotel for business travelers

Good hotel, and great rate for Avenida Paulista/Jardins area. This is my second time staying here for business. Very quiet, nice rooms. Good internet connectivty and very nice staff. My only complaint (again) is that the breakfast is not very good, especially by Brazilian hotel breakfast standards. Not only was the quality not great, but two of the four mornings I was there the orange juice was empty, and some other items had not been replenished.

Great location for a business-oriented traveler

This is a nice, well-located hotel in the Jardins area of São Paulo. Staff were helpful most of the times, and everything looked clean. My only issues were the extremely unsatisfactory internet connection, which could not handle video downloading or Skype calls, and the breakfast. Breakfast was just fine, and I had trouble understanding why in the country that is the number one coffee producer the quality of the coffee was mediocre.

Staying in the Grand Plaza is ok...

This hotel has the potential to be very good but didn't quite come up to scratch in so many areas. The staff were pleasant and spoke quite good english, except when they didn't understand you (which included all service lines except reception). The gym was ok except that you needed to make special arrangements to access the spa/sauna and ask for the spa to be turned on half an hour before you want to use it. The housekeeping is ok, except for when they took half the towells out and didn't replace them. The laundry needed chasing up, and so on.

Li as reclamações sobre o local, mas por ter visto a Gerente dizendo que iriam trabalhar para resolver, fui ingênuo e achei que não teria os mesmos problemas, porém o ar condicionado continua não funcionando bem, o chuveiro por ser de caldeira continua esquentando somente quando quer e a água continua saindo como um conta gotas...o café da manhã tão elogiado aqui, foi decepcionante.

A limpeza é um item que está requerendo mais atenção. Encontrei papeis (vários) no chão junto à parede e à cama. O revestimento do banheiro está bastante encardido.
Outro item é o café da manhã. Achei meio fraquinho!!!
Por fim, a iluminação do quarto precisa melhorar, assim como a disponibilidade de tomadas para carregar celulares e computadores

Tivemos dificuldade com as televisões. Mas o funcionário Leonardo (mensageiro) foi que resolveu tudo, paciente e proativo ele logo se dispôs a corrigir os problemas da internet. Foi ótimo!
A banheira do apartamento 403 não estava funcionado a tecla. Acho que era hidro. Estava arranhada e um pouco velha.

Minha estadia foi um verdadeiro desastre na parte administrativa e de atendimento. Eu já havia pago a reserva pelo Expedia, mas mesmo assim cobraram novamente do meu filho via Pix. Além disso, quando pedi para estender a estadia, obrigaram meu filho a sair do quarto para depois colocá-lo de volta no mesmo quarto, algo totalmente sem sentido.

Há uma funcionária no turno da noite que é muito confusa, fala demais e acabou gerando ainda mais confusão, principalmente porque tínhamos três quartos reservados. Para completar, agora estão tentando me cobrar novamente por consumos que já haviam sido pagos.

Sinceramente, foi uma experiência caótica e decepcionante.

A hospedagem foi boa de um modo geral, mas apenas após a intervenção de um colaborador incrível o Rodrigo, pois a minha primeira reserva me colocaram num apartamento sucateado literalmente, depois fui saber que esse estava numa lista dos que deveriam ser reformados, mas comentei com o Rodrigo e ele me acomodou em um apartamento condizente com o valor da diária. Em relação ao café da manhã, devem melhorar, todos os dias as mesmas coisas, e quitandas nada saborosas, sem contar que em todos os dias que fiquei foram 4 dias, em nenhum deles tinha um bolo. Enfim, café da manhã eu daria nota 5.

Hotel muito bom, muito próximo da Paulista (shopping Pátio Paulista, MASP, etc…). Já fiquei outras vezes e voltarei c certeza. O hotel precisa de uma reforma, tirar uma banheira alta do banheiro, vi nos comentários q tem quartos reformados, ficamos em um quarto sem reforma, mas a limpeza, o cuidado, colchões bons, roupa de cama boa supera e está td certo! O café da manhã é sensacional👏👏! E no dia dia de ir embora nos permitiram fazer late checkout!

Mas no Geral Hotel precisando urgente de cuidados com a manutenção, troquei 3x de quarto e todos o box vazava agua por todo o banheiro encharcando os pisos. 2 Lampadas para o quarto todo, zero iluminação. Toalha de rosto furada. Café da manhã sofrível, poucas opções e todos os dias a mesmíssima coisa. Não vale o valor corbado da diária.
