I did not receive a confirmation from Travelocity ... only a text message to create a calendar invite...I had the worst time trying to remember who I booked the hotel room through until your survey came up today. When I called the hotel to confirm a few days before, they did not have my reservation, and I had to re-book. Luckily they had space. The hotel changed names and is not a Holiday Inn Express. Its called 'Hotel Worcester' and ended up housing immigrants. There were 6 school buses blocking our car when it was time to leave. Overall, really poor. I just wish I had heard more about the reservation from Travelocity...they went silent - maybe because the name/franchise change???

Don't Stay Here!!!

Roof was leaking onto desk [near my laptop!], Floor has several pieces of bacon on it [found barefoot, gross]. This is a Haitian refugee hotel!! Lots of young families with kids running around and making noise. Asked for a 6AM wakeup call to attend my mothers funeral......call came at 7:10. We were up!

Hotel is ok. We stayed here a few years ago and enjoyed our stay, however this time was not as great. Our first room smelt funny and had evidence of water leaking from the ceiling, peeling wallpaper. I did request a room change and the woman at the front was helpful. Our second room was better, but it’s clear the rooms are due for a refresher. One of the chairs had very obvious patchwork done, and the beds were very stiff. Breakfast staff was very friendly, and the continental breakfast was decent.

We arrived very early but our room was ready so check in was very quick at around noon. Staff was super efficient and friendly. The room needs quite a bit of work. AC unit soaks the carpet so bad that there was sheet metal installed on the rotting desk leg. Fridge did not work. The toilet is the size of a beach bucket. For the nightly rate it was ok for a walk-able venue at the Palladium BBS <\/,,

My room was more expensive then expected. I always stay here. Quite often for concerts. Sometimes twice in a month with my son. Normally I pay about $200ish that includes $20 fee. This last time I paid over $300 for one night.
My son ended up having to cover it. That was not what I intended on happening it kind of put a damper on what was supposed to be a fun night.

A little run down

Lobby and elevators didn't smell great. Bathroom walls were streaky... I'm not sure what with. Water pressure and temp of shower was probably the best thing of our stay. While the lady working breakfast was sweet, the food itself wasn't great.

No credit card authorization.

I provided a credit card authorization to the hotel as requested, to cover the hotel cost for family. My family had to pay the Bill which I didn’t want to happen. I talked to the hotel directly when making the reservation and followed their procedure. It didn’t work. Also, my family said the stay was not good, not comfortable, thank you for asking.

Mistake at check in

We prepaid for a suite, and agreeing to a surcharge for adding a rollaway bed because we are traveling with 5 family members including two kids and we needed the extra bed. Upon checking in, the hotel clerk admitted that they mistaking gave our room to another guest, because they “handed them the wrong key”. We ended up cramming a rollaway bed into a standard queen room and there was barely any room to walk. It was not a comfortable stay to say the least. The hotel staff was apologetic and promised to “make things right”.

The condition of the room can be better too: peeling tile and bathtub paint; toilet seat is worn out and the PATC unit is very loud.

Getting to the property was easy, plenty of parking spaces. Walking into the hotel first impressions were great looked clean and well kept. Front desk service was lacking, not friendly. Seemed also annoyed that we were checking in and seemed to have issues finding our reservation. We had a second floor room, looked nice but then you start to look around and see things that are broken or falling apart. Wires from the tv just everywhere. All plugged in to an extension cord very messy, looked like a fire hazard. Bed was clean and very comfortable.
Our check out was 11am, at 10:25 we got a knock on the door for house keeping but couldnt tell if the knock was on our door or not because you could hear everything going on out in the hall. When all of a sudden our room door opens and the house keeper comes in and then noticed we are still in the room. It was an honest mistake, she apologized. Ive just never had that happen at a hotel before.
Check out was 10 times better then check in. The women greeted us right away and was very friendly.

Hotel is walkable to all the good stuff. DCU. Good restaurants. We went to Mercantile for dinner SO good. The hotel itself needs a major reno. Our room had peeling wallpaper, the sink stopper was so jammed with gunk, I had to remove it & set it into a bag on the floor. *gag*. The hospital is right near by so, constant sirens. Train comes through at about 3-4 am which sucked on a Sunday. Walls are super thin, you can hear hallway doors slam all night. Towels were plentiful but rough like sandpaper. Shower was clean & water was plenty hot. Bed was clearly cheap & wirey but sheets were clean. The storage was great, long dresser, desk under the TV. The price is pretty high for a property this neglected BUT you’re close to so many things, it’s ok.

Absolutely disgusted with this experience. Booked this hotel as it was in walking distance to the DCU center for a show I had booked. Check in started at 3pm so I arrived at 330pm. There was a line a mile long of folks checking in with only one personal working the front desk. No fault here, staffing shortages is an issue everywhere these days. As I made my way to the top of the line, the woman made an announcement that everyone should leave and come back later as none of the rooms were available and there was no ETA. After finally getting into the room, to my surprise the entire room smelled SO strongly of stale cigarettes to the point my migraine was instantly triggered. The issue here is this hotel is advertised as SMOKE free. Trying not to be a pain I simply asked a made for some febreeze, sprayed the entire room and went out to the show. Upon coming back to the room 6 hours later, the smell was there just as bad as before to the point I was becoming physically Ill. I went to the front desk where the employee came to my room and verified the smell and said “unfortunately sometimes it happens and there were no other rooms available”. I was told I was out of luck and could leave if I wanted. Well I wish I could have left but after planning a night out and having some cocktails I obviously was not getting into my vehicle anywhere or trying to drive 2 hours home at midnight. After continuously checking in with the employee, magically another room opened up.

The minute we got here the lobby was pack. One person working behind the counter. Than after waiting 20mins on line to check the woman comes around the counter to tell everyone that nnone of the rooms were cleaned and ready. This was at 330pm and check-in is at 3pm. Im sorry it is not our fault that youand your staff cant handle cleaning the rooms in a timely fashion. The previous guest had to check-out by 11am so that means they had 4hrs to clean the rooms. The woman behind the counter told us to go somewhere for a while and comeback later to check-in. Ithink this was all very unprofessional and a little embarrassing. I know its just a holiday inn express but still, should have been a little better. Plus the room we did end up getting was still kind of dirty. The bathroom sink had toothpaste scum all over it. I ended up cleaning it myself

I stayed there after a concrete at the Centrum (DCU Center).
Short walk and free parking.
Staff was friendly.
The room was clean.
I did not notice any noise when getting back to the room or when trying to fall asleep.

The USB charging port was broken along with the alarm clock so I had to call for a wake up call - which never happened in the morning. Good thing I only woke up 15 min late.
The king bed had quite the sag in the middle, which was like sleeping in an inner tube.
The breakfast was what you would expect, although the toaster is located next to the elevators - nowhere near where they put out the bread and bagels. I did not see it until I was leaving.

What a dump! Poor service… more like no service!

This is the second time we’ve stayed at this location and it was awful both time around. We reluctantly booked again due to there being no other options in the immediate area.

This time around the room was dirty. There was hair and dirt on the bathroom floor, the walls were filthy and stained, the bathroom above clearly had a leak judging by the patches and stain on the ceiling, the sink was all broken/cracked and did not drain well, the ac did not work, and the lock on the door was broken.

We called the front desk when we got in the room at 11pm. No answer. We went down to the front desk and no one could be found. For the nearly $300nt we paid I expected the place to be renovated from the last time we stayed here when it was only about $100nt. This place is a dump. When I checked in the family in front of me were checking out and had complaints about their room as well.

They should have to pay people to stay in this dumpster. We told the front desk receptionist our concerns and the girl looked like she was about to cry. She told us the general manager would call. Haven’t heard anything. I want my money back!!!

Gonna stay at the nearby Hilton next time.

We had booked two rooms. After checking in, we were given two room numbers close to each other, which is what we wanted. But one number was for a room that didn't even exist and the other room hadn't been cleaned. It took a while for them to find two clean rooms for us, which they DID do, but they were on separate floors. One of the rooms smelled horrible. The rooms in general just seem old and icky. The front desk staff was friendly and apologetic, but I will not stay here again.

I thought the hotel was very nice. Very clean parking was very accessible we were traveling with an SUV loaded with items for my daughters move to college and we were able to get a spot right out front. The breakfast was very nice as well and the woman running it was an extremely hard worker and should be recognized for her efforts. All in all a very comfortable and relaxing stay.

This hotel smelled the moment you walked in. Our initial room had pubic hairs in the tub and the mattress cover had brown stains (looked like poop). The hallway floor of our next room had poop on the floor and the floor had a horrible smell to it. This is the worst hotel experience i have ever had.

The property was a disappointment compared with other Holiday Inns I stayed at recently in Gettysburg, PA (excellent) and New London, CT (good). The dining area was not cleaned after breakfast and was under stocked for breakfast. Inside the room, there was a shoddy, noticeable drywall repair in the bathroom. Finally, the temperature in the room was difficult to maintain and the A/C leaked condensate into the rug. I will no longer consider Holiday Inn as a first choice option for inexpensive travel.

One of the Worst Stays - NO AC

I stay in a lot of hotels, from expensive to super cheap, and this is easily one of the worst experiences I’ve had.

- It was one of the hottest days of summer, and our AC unit did not work. We had it set on the wall, and the actual button on the unit to high cool, but it blew out lukewarm air the entire stay. We checked in at 6, had plans for 7, thought we would leave it and it would maybe start working when we got back. We got back around 1:30am and it still didn’t work, and no phone in the room to call front desk-and nobody at front desk.

-No remote to the TV. I mean cmon. We checked all the drawers, everything, no remote. No button to turn the tv on either.

-Hairs in the shower. Small black hairs all over the shower wall. Ew.

-front desk at check out was rude, did not ask how the stay was, and clearly did not want to be there. We checked out at 9am on Sunday, the 24th.

-vending machine on 1st floor is fully stocked, but most options (including all the water bottle options) read “OUT OF STOCK” and won’t let you purchase.

I will never stay at a holiday inn express again if I can help it.

The room was tidy but basic which was fine. When i asked for a bottle water i was told it was only available in the vending machines. I tried all three machines on different floors, one worked but was sold out of water, the other two were not working at all. I decided to resort to tap water and get some ice...the ice machine was not working! When i went to bed, the mattress had a massive dip in it, presumably due to age. Considering to nightly price this was NOT the experience i expected.

Room had obviously been the site of some police activity: door had been forcibly opened with pry bar or some such, and large metal plate had been attached on the hallway side to cover the damage. The room itself smelled heavily of air freshener over water damage. It may have been that the carpet was required to be heavily cleaned and this was the olfactory residue. In any event, the room was incredibly musty. It was not possible to ask for another room as it was graduation weekend. The staff that we dealt with was as helpful as they could be, but overworked and terribly under-staffed. Why did HIE put brand new hires on duty for graduation weekend? HIE was not prepared for the volume of guests, whether at reception, at breakfast (at one point there wasn’t any food because there was only one woman working the area), or at checkout. This is unconscionable. The facilities were generally old and neglected. Our bathroom sink had a large crack in it. All in all, and despite the very real attempts by staff to remedy HIE’s defects, I have to give this hotel a very bad review. Is IHG planning on downgrading HIE until they will sell it off at a loss?

The lady in charge of breakfast said her truck had not come in so she didn’t refill cinnamon rolls, cold eggs. It was only 8:15, still guest coming down and not much to choose from. Her name was Dee.
Trashcans in our room needed emptying and towels replaced. We had no room service had to go to the front desk to get towels. When we checked out the manager wasn’t there. Had the kitchen lady, housekeeping lady and some lady named Melissa who had only been there a short time. She appeared to be out of it like she was high. Could not work the computer at all. Only time I have experienced such a bad visit with one of the Holiday Inns. Very disappointed!

Left to sit in a room waiting to be called in \"when room available \". Didn't get called. Next new front desk person processed paperwork as if new. Not the second frontdesk person's fault.
First front desk person not thorough and made process of chevin LONGER and more unpleasant.

Very unclean. Room smelt like an ashtray. Broken bathroom fixtures, heater falling apart and noisey, shower was full of other peoples body hair. Overall this place is very dirty and disgusting, management doesnt care!!!

Was just ok

Pros it was close to what we needed. But for the price it was a bit run down and the room was super warm. The thermostat was set at 60 but the temperature in the room was 78. We had to turn the heater off and it was still warm all night. Also it had full beds instead of queens .

I was pretty disappointed with the quality of this hotel, particularly considering how much the room was for one night. The room seemed worn and outdated. It looked as if they tried to make some repairs that was hastily completed. I was expecting more out of a Holiday Inn.
