Clean, quiet accomodation with a good breakfast and friendly helpful staff. Views from breakfast room were fabulous. Great nights sleep. We had an early flight home & we were given a good breakfast pack up. Kettle in room was great to have for hot drinks.

This was a lovely place to stay. It was clean and comfortable with everything we needed for a nice stay.
It was close to shops but quiet because it was down a quiet street. It was 5 minutes walk from the nearest vaporetto stop Saint Sylvester and 10 minutes walk from the Rialto bridge.
There are lots of places close by to eat and drink and good shopping.

This hotel was centrally located in San Polo neighborhood and close to the Rialto Bridge and a water taxi stop-Silverstro is close by and that makes it easy to navigate around Venice.

The accommodations at the hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff were attentive and helpful. The free breakfast was great and fulfilling- it gives you a great start to the day to explore Venice!

This guest house is a small boutique hotel…we had a floor to ourselves! The amenities were excellent! We had air conditioning…Cable TV and we daily housekeeping services!

It would be great if they would offer a ‘wine down’ happy hour a few nights during the week at the hotel to mingle with the guests who are staying at the hotel!

I recommend to those who want a chill experience and this hotel has a private dock for the water taxi to drop you off from the airport!

We were very comfortable here. The hosts were kind, some more so than others but it was fine because we didn’t mind keeping to ourselves! The breakfast was a wonderful assortment with beautiful canal views. My fav was the orange juice press to make your own fresh OJ! A cozy little place to stay in Venice.

Amazing stay in Venice!!!

The hotel was beautiful, it’s a typical Venetian house with a view of the canal during breakfast time which you will very much enjoy (due to the view and the variety of tasty/healthy food). The service was beyond my imagination, you can tell the are caring about you; and they do it with priceless care and love.

Our staying was pretty comfortable (the bed a little hard; but I don like beds that are super soft). They had everything we need and we went in winter (they have heaters and hot water that works perfectly fine) we were warm inside the hotel.

The location was perfect, next to water buses station, cafes, restaurants and historical area. You can really tell that the building belonged to an architect due to its location, sun orientation and rooms disposition, high celling and all the details of the welcoming area (since the door on).

We will definitely recommend you to stay with Ca d Angeli 200% sure you will love it too!

We booked this hotel based on the reviews that said the location was great which is true. The website pictures do not do it justice. Our room was nice and spacious. The continental breakfast was very good and served in a room with a view of the Grand Canal. Although the location is great, you must walk down an alley away from the main street which made it very quiet and peaceful.

I stayed here for the first time in July 2016. I looked it so much that I had to come back when I returned to Venice in February 2018. When I come back to Venice in the future I plan to stay here again! Everything is great- the rooms are clean, the location is fantastic, the people are wonderful, and the breakfast is delicious! I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else.

Nice cozy hotel. Location was on the Grand Canal, the only view from the hotel that I know of is from the breakfast area. There is a water bus location close to the hotel with out crossing any bridges. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and was included in the price of the room. It begins at 8 am. If you need to leave early let the staff know and they will prepare something for you to go.

This hotel was very close to the S. Silvestro boat stop. The directions to the hotel were extremely helpful - it's not hard once you learn it the first time. It's a nice area for food and close to Rialto bridge and all it's restaurants and shops. Market is just 5 min walk away. We enjoyed our trip very much. Breakfast was decent but could be better if we had cappuccino or espresso included. There was fresh fruit and oatmeal along with croissants. No eggs or American style food (which is ok). The room was slightly larger than other Venice hotel rooms which I've seen. The bathroom was nice and large. You can see the grand canal from breakfast window which is beautiful.

Cozy, convenient and affordable

Loved being dropped off at their dock with only steps to their front door. Our room was clean and cozy. We loved breakfast, especially the orange juicer that we made fresh juice with each morning over looking the canal. This was a return visit to Venice and I much prefer this side of the canal than the crowded side of St Marks square. Will definitely return!

Fantastic Hotel, great location

My daughter and I stayed here for 5 nights. We had a great room - large with separate and large bathroom.(also a safe) The check-in was very thorough and we were given ideas for eating places, things to do etc. Breakfast was plentiful and served in a room overlooking the Grand Canal. The district is very handy to everything but not in the chaos of San Marco. The water service stop is San Silvestro and is a very short walk away. From here we could catch the services to anywhere we needed to go. We arrived and departed by water taxi which is a bit more expensive but with our heavy bags was really worth it. (Thankfully we had no rain but it would be more tricky in the rain to use the other water services) We were told beforehand from the hotel the cost which was great. Venice can be a little confusing since none of the streets seem to be square to one another. The hotel staff were great with directions and maps. Rialto Bridge is very close - 3 - 5 minute walk and we did walk to San Marco easily too. There was a square close by with an ice rink which was so fun to watch and a great restaurant full of locals. I would definitely stay here again. The only downside if you wanted to eat in your room is that you can't eat in the room because they have many very old and valuable pieces and would not want those ruined or needing expensive cleaning.

Loved It!

We stayed in the Junior Suite for 1 night prior to a cruise and it was just the best. It was our first time in Venice and this hotel couldn't have been better for us. Our room overlooked the Grand Canal and any time we spent in the room, was spent hanging out the window. The staff were extremely helpful, the breakfast was great. When we return to Venice, we will be staying at the Ca'Angeli again.

We had a large, comfortable room with a huge bathroom by European standards (both bathtub and separate shower) and a large closet. The staff was extremely helpful, notably in helping us decide how to get to the airport as we left. The hotel offers free transportation to the Murano glass factory (this offer is buried in the hotel informational booklet in the room and well worth taking advantage of.) Breakfast was delicious in a charming room overlooking the Grand Canal. The hotel was well situated in a charming city.

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights in August , it was such a enjoyable stay and small hotel (almost a B&B type) hotel. Great Staff! great Italian breakfast daily! and a great room with the exception of the A/C leaking on the last night.. I notified them and im sure they will fix it if its not already done. This is a real Gem ! don't miss out staying here where else can you eat breakfast with a view of the grand canal!! at the price they charge? nowhere is the answer! try and get to the dining area first so you can get that romantic corner table with 2 windows! don't be afraid to book a room here! you will love it!

Only average. Paid 175 Es for a night - a bit of a complicated walk from the closest waterbus (San Silvestro). When we arrived no one was at at the desk so it took a bit to check in. They willingly stored our suitcases and were very helpful with plans to leave early for the airport the next morning. We could not stay for the breakfast which looks like it could be lovely. It sounds like hit or miss with regard to the room - we had no view, windows have no screens, and a very tight bathroom. I am confused by the certificate of excellence and high trip advisor rating.

Great hotel location for Jr Suite maybe not others

We were a little disappointed that the room had no view of the Grand Canal (except Jr Suite) which was not clear and the reception room that a family friend raved about when they stayed there was corded off for breakfast each morning, leaving it unusable for an afternoon glass of wine to step away from the hustle and bustle of Venice to enjoy quiet time at the hotel. We would have enjoyed the hotel more if there was a place to relax with that amazing view but it just wasn't an option. The bed was fairly uncomfortable but the room was clean and functioned as we needed for the centralized location. The staff was helpful and the breakfast included was fabulous so thats a plus. I think if we felt more comfortable and welcome to common areas or had the Junior Suite I would have a different review. Just not sure worth the price when we didn't really have much of an option to spend time in the room or hotel to relax.

Quiet with a water view

Extremely nice staff & hotel. I was expecting a standard no frills experience, but was pleasantly surprised with the opposite. No, it is not the Plaza in NYC, but it was clean, comfortable, breakfast was included with a view of the canal, and it was nestled into the side streets of Venice with the convenience of being an easy walk while still being far enough off the beaten path that it was quiet.

Perfect location overlooking Grand Canal

The location on the Grand Canal has easy links to public transport (buy a ticket for as long as your stay, and just touch in and touch out on each journey). The city is full of beauty and interest.
For this hotel, arrival by water-bus (vaporetto) will mean a short walk to the hotel, including carrying your luggage up and down steps to get over a side-canal bridge. A water-taxi will get you to a jetty a few steps from the hotel entrance, but is a little more expensive. There is no road access for a conventional taxi.
The en-suite bathroom had a shower rather than a bath.
The breakfast room overlooked the Grand Canal, our bedroom windows opened on to the wall of the opposite building, across a tiny side canal, the walls opposite had cheery window-boxes. The breakfast buffet was good.

Good location but beware the top floor bathroom.

The location of this hotel was very good--walking distance to all parts of the island. The listing was a bit misleading regarding the rooftop terrace. Apparently this terrace is accessible from one of the rooms but is not available to others staying in the hotel. We had a room on the top floor, which is normally part of the family suite. The bathroom was not ensuite but down the hall, though we did have private use of the bathroom. (The other two rooms of the suite were unoccupied while we were there.) There was no stand-up shower, just a bathtub with a handheld shower and a very low, sloping ceiling. The tub was slippery and there were no handrails, which made it very difficult to get in and out of it. I would not recommend it for tall or elderly people. The breakfasts were first-rate.

First night out us in room with stairs. Booked hotel because it had an elevator. Huge rude argument with desk clerk. Said there was no solution and it was our fault for booking. Next day moved us into a perfect room that was not supposed to be available. Big fight and upset for nothing.

First contact with the hotel was a phone call to say we would be late, extremely friendly staff very accommodating and talked us through how to get there as well as safety in Venice, water busses and everything we might need to know. A little hard to find still but a nice gelato bar right round the corner where you can ask for directions and get gelato at the same time!
Staff fantastic, room comfortable and clean (no kettle, though) and breakfast very enjoyable. All for a very acceptable price. Would highly recommend. Also easy proximity to restaurants, shops, transport.

Outstanding b&b very close to sightseeing areas by walking along 1 block off grand canal 10 minutes to rialto bridge on right. Very quiet. Beautiful breakfast overlooking grand canal. Outstanding service. All receptionists speak English. Get directions before you go, it us easy to find but you have to take the correct cut through because the buildings front the canal and you have to back track. If that happens, no worries it is a few steps out of the way. I highly recommend them. This is our second stay.

Absolutely loved this hotel. Do not hesitate to book. Perfect location. Easy walk to everything. Book a private water taxi from the airport and they drop you 50 or so feet from the hotel entry gate on left hand side of walk. Staff are all helpful and nice. Mini bar a plus plus! Nice location, but we had expected more.

We were given a two-bedroom \"attic\" for my wife and I and our 18 year-old son. The rooms are okay. Very quiet, but no view whats so ever. While the owner has conveniently installed USB outlets to charge our electronics, the internet signals are too weak to travel upstairs. At time, we had to sit in the lobby to do our trip research. On the positive side, the breakfast was great as was the breakfast room, the only room with the view of the Grand Canal. We also like the location, about 15 minute walk from the Santa Lucia train station and 15 minutes from San Marco Square. There are a lot of great restaurants in the area, though the owner was reluctant to name any of them (don't know the reasons). We ended up using Google and Tripadvisors to help us in selecting restaurants. We would really give this place a 3.5 or even a 3.8 rating if we could, since we don't really think it deserves a 4.0.

Its a small hotel, the staff are friendly, helpful; we arrived about 10:30 and they said our room was not ready, which is understandable. They helped with our bags and gave us tips on where to eat and places to see. The only negative, the bed was terrible. I mean I thought we were sleeping on a box spring. Its two small beds pushed together and I did not sleep very well. The place is a bit expensive considering the poor quality of the bed.

The water taxi dropped us off and picked us up less than 50 yards from the room, that was awesome. We walked Venice with ease from our room and had access to everything we wanted to see. Our only disappointment was the room size. There was only room enough to walk around the bed, and a small bathroom as well. Glad that we only had one night to stay here. This is definitely not somewhere you want to spend any time as the room provides no amenities.
Breakfast was fabulous.

CaAngeli is a comfortable bed and breakfast.

This was our last stop on our vacation, which we just got off a 17 nt cruise. We hopped on a water taxi, which dropped us off at the pier just a half block from the hotel, that was great since we had 2 suitcases each. You do have to \" buzz\" into the gated garden area, then go into the building and go up the elevator to the 3rd floor.
Hotels are a little hard to find, they do not have large signs, which we are used to in the states... you have to look for little tiny brass signs near their address on the buildings. This hotel was close to shopping and maybe a 10 minute walk to the Rialto Bridge.
Breakfast was pleasant, it included yogurt, boiled eggs, cereal, bananas, dried fruits, walnuts, cheeses, sliced meats, croissants, bread for toast, and fresh squeezed orange juice as well as coffee and tea. They will also make you an expresso , which my husband enjoyed each morning. We stayed for 2 nights and would suggest this hotel to anyone since it was so close to everything we wanted to do....remember everything is on foot on that part of Venice, not so good if you are not able to walk a lot.
This place used to be a home, so it is still decorated with many antiques from the original owner which you can appreciate. The young lady that checked us in was so courteous, she spoke English as do many people in Venice, so she helped us with dinner reservations as well as explaining how to get to a few restaurants.

We truly enjoyed this small quaint hotel. Located just off the grand canal, and private water taxi drops you off just a half block from the hotel. They bend over backwards to help any way they can. The young lady that checked us in explained in English how to get around easily and also told us how to get to a few restaurants that were good. 5-10 minute walk to Rialto Bridge. The hotel used to be a house that has been renovated. ..each room is decorated a little different, mostly antiques. Breakfast included, fresh squeezed orange juice, coffee, tea, sliced meats, boiled eggs, breads, yogurts, jams, and croissants.

Venice gem

So happy with the double room with private balcony, which had a view of the Grand Canal and seating for more than just the 2 of us. Room was quite small, but the outdoor space made it worthwhile. Lovely breakfast with amazing Grand Canal view. Extremely helpful front desk. We would definutely return here to this quieter area, away from the madness of San Marco.

Quaint B&B - not necessarily modern or luxurious

This reminded me of a B&B - old antiques, creaky floors, proprietor that cared very much about his hotel, small number of rooms, quirky breakfast room table decorations, etc. It's a place my mother would love but not necessarily modern. Great front desk service and staff. Room was older. The small elevator was ok for transporting heavy bags but not necessarily comfy to ride in so we opted for climbing flights of stairs. If you are looking for a quaint, older personable B&B this place is perfect. If you want more of a luxury hotel / modern boutique hotel look elsewhere. Nice stay but honestly for the price there are better upscale options in Venice.

Small hotel in an excellent location

A small hotel with 8 rooms in excellent location on Grand Canal near Rialto Bridge. Excellent breakfast included in lounge that overlooks the canal - great place for a glass of wine. Rooms were clean and comfortable and washrooms had all the conveniences.

Great Location

The location is great, one stop beyond the Rialto vaporetto stop. Ca Angeli is located in a less crowded area, you are 5 minutes from the crowds at the Rialto Mercado. The hotel was small and inviting. The breakfast is a european style breakfast that is very good. The staff was very nice and always willing to help. Georgio was a great help to us. He also is great at choosing different restaurants for us to dine at. I would stay here again when another trip to Venice arrives.

We really enjoyed our time here. The location is great, close to the boat stop and near the Rialto Bridge. The staff are extremely helpful and kind. The room was great much larger than we expected and the bathroom was lovely also. Make sure you get the directions from the website and it's easy to find.

Wifi was only free for 15 min. A little tricky to find, but not too bad. Hotel was quite nice. You had to return your key to the desk every time you left, but I guess that's not a big deal considering cleaning staff always has keys anyway.

Great little find!

Great hotel, you can easily access it by water taxi it water bus or if you don't have much luggage to pull around the walk isn't too bad either. Quiet location just minutes away for many shops, resturants and many tourist attractions. The staff were friendly and answered our questions. They even arranged a free tour for us to the Murano glass factory which was a nice treat. We would absolutely stay here again :)

Aah, Venice!

Ca 'Angelo was absolutely beautiful, both inside and structurally. The staff welcomed us and made us feel as if we were part of an extended family. Although a bit pricey, it was very well worth it.

Beautiful hotel

We would agree to much of the previous positive comments. Beautiful house. Excellent location and breakfast. A lovely view from the window of the breakfast room. We did have plenty of hot water, all very clean. And a bedroom adequate size,and a lovely well presented shower room.

Shared provision in the lounge for making hot drinks would be appreciated especially as drinks and food are 'forbidden' in bed rooms. Even own water was not allowed in the fridge and would be taken away. Reminders we felt were unnecessary of how much it would cost for any damage made. In addition, we did not think it necessary for notices telling us to keep our room tidy and not to take food out of the breakfast room (most hotel request this but notices on the table and on the wall!). The breakfast was not served until 8 am and a chair was place to bar entrance into the breakfast room which also served as a small lounge area and overlooked the Grand Canal. This just took the edge of a delightful environment.

Great little hotel for your vacation in Venice

These hotel is perfect for a quick trip to Venice. Great location..the staff is great !! and the rooms are comfortable and clean. The breakfast is fantastic..the food, the decoration , where the breakfast room is located and is included in the rate. If we have the opportunity to come back to Venice we would stay there again.

Great stay

Hotel is located near the Rialto bridge wich is perfect, but you still have to do some walking to get there. The private boat we reserved didn't know the hotel, so we were dropped off on the wrong side of the canal. We tried to phone the hotel, but the man at the reception desk didn't speak english so much...so we had a hard time getting answers to our questions.
The food in the morning was very fresh and there was quite a selection. A lady offered cappucinos every morning wich was wonderful!

best little hotel in venice

our stay at the Ca Angeli was great. from the minute we booked in to when we booked out 3 days later. the staff could not help us enough. one of our fellow travellers was trying to help some aussie travellers, who were very distressed, they were walking round venice for 5hrs trying to find their hotel without success so we took them back to ca angeli who went out of their way to help these people find where their hotel was. rooms were great, very clean, breakfast had everything we wanted and a most beautiful view of the grand canal. we would definitely tell all our friends to stay here.

Great location, helpful staff

This hotel is only a five minute walk from the Rialto Bridge and shops and restaurants are seconds away. The staff were really helpful with directions. The breakfast room has a lovely view of the canal and the breakfast itself was plentiful. The room was spacious and clean. We would definately recommend this hotel to anyone visitng Venice.

Great little place with only 9 rooms, centrally located yet quiet. Rooms are quite individual, some to be prefered over others. Next time I'll go for the suite. By far the room with the best view.

The right hotel for a trip to Venice

The room was a really good size, with a great breakfast served in the dining room overlooking the grand canal.

Great find in Venezia!!!

We were extremely pleased with our experience. The hotel staff was friendly and very helpful. The room was small but very clean, pleasant and equipped with many amenities. The room opened onto a very spacious veranda which we enjoyed thoroughly. The breakfast was terrific and the neighborhood charming, and access to shopping, restaurants/cafes and major attractions was good. We would definitely recommend.
