- Very friendly and accommodating staff.
- Excellent Wi-Fi, great AC, and a wonderful breakfast.
- Authentic Venetian charm.
- Amazing location. Middle of everything and near the water bus at Rialto.
Cons/Things to Know:
- No desk: If you book a room with a double bed, there isn't a workspace.
- No elevator: The hotel is four stories high. Climbing to our room was a serious workout each time, though this is typical for Venice.

The hotel was well positioned to be able to get around and see the sights of Venice.
The rooms had air conditioning which was a blessing. The breakfast was also very good.
Easy access to the vaporetto.
Small reception area with not a lot of room to sit and relax and also no bar to get a refreshing drink. However, there was a small refrigerator in the room with some drinks in for purchase.
The room that we had was very dark and basic. It was very old fashioned a dimly lit. However it was clean with fresh towels daily. There was a tv on the wall but it was so small that it was pretty much useless. I think it was something like a 12 inch screen! The hotel is based in a former palace from the 1500s and I am not sure if they didn't want to update as to keep the history of the building intact.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was clean, the breakfast was delicious, and the staff was exceptional throughout our visit.

One small thing to note: we initially thought the air conditioning wasn't working because the remote control doesn't start cooling immediately. After turning it on, you need to wait about five minutes before the cool air begins. Once we figured that out, the AC worked great and kept the room comfortable.

The staff went above and beyond to help us. They were incredibly patient with all of our questions about where to go, what to do, and how to get around Venice. A special thank-you to the older gentleman working in the morning, who arranged a water taxi for our early airport departure. The taxi arrived at the hotel exactly at 6:00 AM as scheduled, and we reached the airport in about 20 minutes, making our flight before 7:00 AM without any stress.

Finding the hotel on our first day was a little challenging. The sign is relatively small and located in the square with the green statue of Manin. The entrance is tucked away in a narrow passage beside the statue, near the hand holding a scroll. Once we found it, the location proved to be excellent.

The hotel is within a 5–7 minute walk of many of Venice's most scenic attractions and is conveniently close to both public and private Vaporetto water transportation.

I highly recommend this hotel, as it absolutely lived up to its excellent reputation!

Hotel is in a fantastic location very central and easy to get to from the public water taxis nearest stop 5mins away or private water transfer 1min from nearest doc.
Rooms are a bit small but it is central Venice, basic but very traditional and it was good value, clean tidy and a good continental breakfast sets you up for the day. If you don’t want or can’t afford 5 luxury this place is perfect and rooms were air conditioned a perfect base for a city break stay.

The major issue with this hotel is NO ELEVATOR, and nobody is offering to help anybody (including women or older people with luggage to carry up or down). The hotel is very old and has no way to have it, but the staff needs to at least offer help. The stairs are tilted, and going to the second floor feels like going to the 4th floor.
Bathrooms are also very small.

Nice hotel, staff was excellent. Breakfast was great especially the apple tart.
The desk clerk was a life saver for us arranging a private water taxi from the hotel to the airport.
The only negative is that there is no elevator. Our room was on the third floor requiring a climb of 63 stairs to get to our floor. At 75 and 72 years old it was challenging but walking around Venice is no easy task either.
I’ll say it again. A nice hotel that met our needs and a fantastic staff.

Hotel is secure, great location close to many attractions, high end bathroom fixtures. Plus I mentioned to the clerk I had to leave early for a day trip and was going to miss breakfast. She went out of her way and put a yogurt and croissants in my room while I was out. Outstanding customer service!!!!!

I feel I was a victim of bate and switch. The website shown very nice rooms. I wound up with an extremely small room with a single bed, sink and a chair. I felt this was a room for a monk. The mattress sagged about 6 inches. I would guess that mattress is at least 30 years old. My window faced a dirty smelly alley with no view except to stare into an office who kept their lights on all night. I had to walk down the hallway to use the bathroom which was another issue. The bathroom was micro in size. Barely room to move about. The toilet seat extended UNDER the sink. You basically had to craw onto the toilet seat. The shower was very small, and the glass door leaked profusely with water all over the floor. There was a drain but still the floor was wet getting out of the shower. Bring your own shampoo and body wash. The tinny containers were very small, and the products were of poor quality. The breakfast room was very nice, and large and the food was very good. I am only glad I sent only two nights. My back could not take another night on the bed. They say the hotel is centrally located. They didn't disclose the fact that it is located at the bend of two very narrow and sketchy pathways. There is no elevator so it will be difficult to carry your bags up the in some cases slanting stairs. As night the light sensor only come on for each small segment of the hallways instead of lighting up the entire hallway. Move quickly or the lights will turn off.

I enjoyed the breakfast, there was always plenty on offer. I'm not a breakfast person but it ticked all the boxes and was good to start the day off with!

The single superior room was perfect for my needs, there was quite a lot of noise from the wall next to the bed though, water flushing sounds which would be my only complaint (however I doubt much can be done about that in a property like this!)

Staff at the desk were always polite, charming and helpful.

I had a lovely stay at Hotel Centauro in Venice and would happily stay here again. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the breakfast was very good, with a nice selection and made-to-order cappuccinos, which was a great way to start the day.

The hotel is very centrally located near St. Mark’s Square, but just far enough off the main paths that it stayed relatively quiet. I visited during Venice Carnival, and it was nice to return to a calmer street after the crowds.

I stayed in two different rooms during my trip. Part of my visit was solo, so I booked the single room, which is small but workable for one person. It has a private bathroom located down the hall (not shared) with a toilet and shower. Just note that it’s quite compact — if you’re tall, the toilet may feel a bit tight (I could practically rest my elbow on the sink while sitting!).

One of the other rooms I stayed in had a small balcony, which I really enjoyed.

A couple helpful things to know: like many historic buildings in Venice, there is no elevator, and the city tax is collected on arrival.

As a solo traveler, I felt very comfortable staying here. The location, comfortable rooms, and good breakfast made it a great base for exploring Venice, and I would definitely stay here again.

Bed was terrible!
I had a shared bathroom (no toilet or bathroom in the room) which I did not know until I got there.
If you are expecting to stay in a nice hotel, this is not for you.
But the price is reasonable.
