Bed was terrible, it was sloping on 1 side and very difficult to sleep on. No staff to ask for replacement bed from cause they close reception at 2pm.

AC did not work half the time. And they didn't tell us that the property is closing for a month on our last day and hence we would not be able to leave our luggage at reception (something they could easily have told us when they messaged us).

Overall not too bad but infrastructure can be improved and just wish they would have communicated the closure better but will say that the late check in procedure was perfect and very smooth, coffee machine is a nice touch too

We had a very nice stay at Antica Venezia! I was very appreciative of the wonderful communication prior to our stay and the staff/owners were so kind and helpful. The location was perfect! We were prepared for climbing several flights of stairs with our bags as there is no elevator but we did not expect one! The room was equipped with what was needed and was extraordinarily quiet. We will definitely stay again on our return to the beautiful city of Venice!

Clean room with good amenities

A lovely hotel with a good location. The room was clean and well presented. The staff were very friendly and able to provide recommendations. A note when you initially arrive that the ground floor is not decorated but as you approach the hotel floor the area is well decorated.

What a hotel!

Nestled in a quiet side street literally 3 minutes from St Marks Square.

A beautiful hotel, full of charm and character , with beautifully decorated rooms, decent water pressure.

The balcony was beautiful with views towards St Marks Square, with free coffee served all day!

The staff were friendly, and extremely helpful. Full instructions were given prior to arriving, to help you find it.

It is not for anyone with mobility issues, it is on the 3rd and 4th floor with no lift and uneven stairs.

Will be staying again when I return to Venice!

The room was really nice. We loved the authentic vibe and the roof terrace. It was so conveniently located right next to everything. Highly recommend staying there. The only obstacle was that there is a large flight of stairs to get to the hotel. But it is worth the hike.

This B&B is very close to everything in Venice! The location is amazing! This building was built in the 1600’s so be cognizant of that. Steep stairs to the third floor, dark and damp conditions when you enter the ground floor. We found it difficult to find the place because there was no street number visible. Amenities are at a very minimum. In America when you call your establishment a B&B it usually means bed and breakfast. This was a bed(very hard with a lumpy pillow) and coffee(which was actually very good). All in all the location and price made up for some of the inconveniences.

Very nice room. My only complaint was how hard the bed and pillows were. Hard like when you were a kid having to sleep on the floor on a mat. But now I am forty and cannot move the next day. Shower was nice and hot and pressure was great. The coffee area in the hotel was great to use to eat a snack or lunch as if you want a grab and go lunch, there are no places to sit in Venice.

Perfect location centrally located in Venice. No elevator and lots of stairs so be prepared. Everything went smoothly at check in even though the reception desk was closed. The information they sent ahead of time was accurate and our keys were waiting inside. The room was tight for 4 adults and the beds were a little uncomfortable but it had air conditioning overall we had a good experience. We would stay there again but probably look at 2 rooms for 2 adults instead of trying to get everyone in one room.

Great location, lovely staff, incredibly clean and bathroom was really modern. Free coffee in the morning as well with a lovely view of st marks bell tower

Downsides was the bedroom was quite small, and a bit of a struggle with 2 people. Like others have said. It is 3 floors to the hotel with no lift, which with two big suitcases was a struggle, but we were expecting that.

OK I want to leave a fair review. First of all you have to follow all the provided instruction or you are not getting in. When you enter in the ground floor it's a bit scary but don't be alarmed. You will have to go to the 3rd fl there is no elevator with bags this may be a challenge for some. Staff is nice and helpful. Once you get to the 3rd fl where the rooms are things look good. Buildings are hundreds of years old so keep this in mind. Rooms are clean and decent. Negatives are, limited places to plug in phone chargers. We wanted to use the tea kettle only plug was near the floor by the door a bit strange but it worked. Biggest negative was we did not get fresh towels for our second day, and our beds were not made. With kids we really needed the room serviced between days. The breakfast pictures you see posted online are old this is no longer offered. There is a very nice coffee machine on the 4th fl, issue is they only keep it powered on from 8:30 to 2 while the staff is in. So if you want coffee any other time not happening. It would be nice if they could leave the machine on or some means of making coffee or tea other times. For example all the other hotels we stayed at had at the least instant coffee and tea in the room for the kettle. The one thing you will really like here is the location unbeatable. You can easy get to many of the local attractions, restaurants, docks.

This place is horrible! The building is abandoned, opening the main door there is dust & is very dark & scary. The first two floors of these building are empty & bad conditions! As you go up the stairs with luggage things get worse with deep steps. This should be a hostel not a hotel! I paid $600.00 for two nights. Room doors need to be smashed to close causing laud noise. Guess next to me opened their door numerous time 1:00 , 3:00 am causing lots of noise & I couldn’t sleep! Not their fault since the wooden doors are bigger than the frame so you have to smash it to close!! Crazy place. Wouldn’t recommend it!!!. Hope I can post a pic to show it!

I never leave bad reviews but for the €182 that I paid for a night at this hotel I’m not impressed. It’s definitely in a great area and the receptionist was pleasant but …. The stairs are a killer without luggage, with luggage it was beyond painful! There is no lift. So unless you’re used to competing in Ironman competitions have a think before you book. Also I saw many photos depicting some sort of buffet breakfast but this didn’t exist. Just a coffee machine with no milk. The hairdryer was ancient and has zero power I could have dried my hair quicker standing next to the window. Also no drinking water was in the room as a courtesy but then again, navigating those stairs with bottles for multiple guests would have some poor soul in its knees. However - why have an empty fridge? Obviously it has a captive market for people who book based on location but it was an uncomfortable stay with the minimum being done but whoever owns this place. Too complacent. So I have to warn others, don’t do it.

Location was the only good thing about this hotel.Hard to find,entrance looks like something out of a horror film and it was dirty.There is no elevator and while they advertise 3 flights of stairs its actually more like 6 so luggage is fun.The ac blew the hot air around at night but thats about it.The shower was very clogged so had to rush before it overflowed all over the floor.Im not someone that typically complains but wanted to let others know exactly what they are getting for their money.I travel quite a bit and this is on my list as top hated hotels.Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else in the area.This place really put a damper on my night in Venice.

the worst hotel ever we had experienced here!
not recommended at all !
the first thing is the hotel has not elevator and they did not mentioned it. the room was at 4th floor with high steps which it was hard to carry our luggage's inside. the front desk reception was not there when we arrived there. just they put our keys there to reach our room.
they had shared bathroom which it was the first time i met something like this and we asked them to change our room they didn't ! the air conditioner inside the room was not working properly. the room was not clean. we saw the piece of long hair of somebody on the bed !
our accommodation in the hotel was for 3 nights but nobody came to clean the room during our stay.!
there were lots of bugs and insects inside the room and they pricked us whole during nights.
also in the high temperature and high humidity of the city we couldn't take shower!
they had only a person who could answer via whats-app but we already called them many times and nobody answered.! we needed to just message them. we asked them to make our refund and they refused it.
bad experience for us of this hotel , made us bad journey of Venice!

Staff were awesome. They provided clear instructions on how to get to the property and accessing the property after hours. They offered to help with our luggage on the stairs. Property was clean and met our expectations. For the price we paid, this was a great stay. The terrace was great, they let us hang out of the terrace after check out as we had a couple hours to kill before our train.

The room was great, nothing to say, but we were unlucky with the shared bathroom experience as the other couple vomited and didn't bother to try to clean but we called the hotel and when we returned it was all cleaned so that what mattered the most. Entrance of the hotel not an indication of the outside.

1-Problem with the door code to get in. No receptionist to help. There were 4 other guests that also could not go in. Door was jammed.
2- overall the photos from expidia are from a decade ago the entrance looks like you might get robbed when going in does not look safe at all
3- expidia listed this as a 3 star hotel it looks more like and hostel and not a hotel or pension.
4- ac in the lobby was off we turned it on and some guy came put turned it off and put a sign that said do not touch.
5- place was bad condition shower with mold and really small the room and hot. We would have come out of there sick (asthmatic)
6-customer service the worst, the lady that whatsap me the info for the check in nasty attitude and saying i was exagerating i have pictures and they dont look like a war happend compare to the ones on expidia

Towels and sheets were clean. Bed comfortable. In touristy area with lots to see and do. However, floor of room was dirty plus the blankets for the bed in smelled and had stains on them. Furniture/couch in reception area was run down and dirty. Also, it would have been easy to have the area upstairs where they turn on a coffee machine from 8am-2pm to be open a little earlier. The room upstairs with the “fancy” coffee maker is turned off at others time and it has a lot of tables and chairs. It would have been very easy to say have a few breakfast items out from say 8-10. The room is set up for that so it is very strange to only have a coffee machine that is turned off most of the time. Would not go back there. Much better places to stay very close by.

Very very old and poorly maintained. The blanket was very bad. The hotel was in 4th floor. We had heavy luggage that we had to carry. No proper instruction. Reception was barely there to answer any question. Small room. Dark. The entrance was confusing, wouldn’t go back. Rather pay little extra and book a good hotel because in this island, walking with luggage is tough. Better stay close to train station or water taxi. We had difficult stay. No restaurant or breakfast on site.

Don’t recommend.

The hotel is very old and dingy. I would rate this as a 2 star hotel. The room smelled like cheap fragrance. They also charged an $8 “city tax fee” at the end of stay, that was not included in booking or collected at the beginning of stay. I only stayed 2 nights.

Very close to St Marks square and lotz of restaurants and shopping. Check in was a little rough as didn’t get code to get in until day before and no internet while traveling. Lovely updated rooms and breakfast area. Entry shared with other business and still in process of remodeling. No desk attendant in evening so had to bring up our luggage up 4 flights of stairs ourselves. Breakfast staff very attentive.

This property is a quirky and fun experience. We enjoyed our room and the staff was friendly and very helpful. Our visit was in late November, and our one complaint was that the bathroom was unheated and freezing. We were certain that in summer it would be quite pleasant.

The location of the hotel is really good for Venice, but there were several factors that made this stay bad. The hotel room had been updated, but the updates were cosmetic. Major issues included the air conditioning not cooling the room (the room was hot and made sleep almost impossible) and the hot water in the shower not working at times. Additionally the breakfast was the worst we had in ten days in Italy! Wanted to like this hotel, but it was very disappointing.

Very dirty and gross. Definitely the worst “hotel” I’ve ever stayed in. There were ROACHES. And the downstairs entrance looks like a dungeon. You can hear EVERYTHING. And you have to slam the doors to get them to close or open. Staff is not very friendly. I would not recommend staying here! Don’t do it. Read the other negative reviews!

They follow an Old Testament oriented only policy therefore there’s no souls around, everything and everyone is objectified. A bit hard to adapt if you are an European, Christian, Hindu, or Muslim tourist. They even refer to the hotel on a property only basis.

Hotel was in a great location, just a couple of minutes walk to St Mark’s square and not far from a water bus stop. Staff was friendly and the included breakfast was good. Pay attention to the directions they provide to find the place, it was a bit of a challenge. We were able to leave our bags on the day we checked out until we were ready to head to the train station which was really helpful. Overall great stay.

Such a great hotel to stay at! It's in a really nice location to explore. The staff was very friendly and helpful, they let us leave our bags after check out, gave us directions and found us a bottle opener to use for a bottle of wine we bought! Breakfast was delicious, and there's a little outdoor rooftop area you can eat on, or have a drink on. Very lovely.

We booked this because it was very close to St Mark's square and the Basilica. To be honest, Venice is so walkable, we could've stayed about anywhere, but we were literally 2 minutes from the square and the Vaporetto stop. Excellent location.
VERY easy to get lost, as building numbers make no sense at all, so pay attention when the owners tell you how to get to the hotel (very necessary instructions). Staff was very pleasant and there was a breakfast included. It was up 4 flights of stairs, so be prepared to climb a lot. Room was small, but certainly serviceable - son and daughter shared a pull out sofa bed.
They let us leave our bags before check-in, as well as after check-out, while we wandered around more before our train left.
Overall very pleased. Were only in Venice for a little over 24 hours, were jet-lagged and it was 93-95 degrees, so we had a few issues with thirst and fatigue, but the hotel was fine.

We had a great stay at Antica Venezia. The hotel is in a great location in the city, and the staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. Especially appreciated was the bellman who helped carry our luggage up and down the 4 flights of stairs (no elevator). There is a very nice breakfast area and rooftop patio, though the rooms are very small and a bit awkward being right next to the reception area. Excellent hotel for the price, and we will definitely consider staying again during our next visit.

Antica Venezia is conveniently located near San Marco. Just a few minutes away from famous tourist attractions in Venice. The rooms are clean and well maintained. It included breakfast with a number of options to choose from. My family of 4 enjoyed our stay at this hotel. You just need to be prepare to go up and down a few stories since there are no lifts or elevators which is common in Venice.

Breakfast was included and there were plenty of options.

Like most of Venice, there aren’t many lifts and this is several stories up - but staff very helpful carried cases up and down.

I absolutely loved the location, but I was surprised when I found that the hotel building is actually a residential building and the rooms were at the last floor, with no elevator, which is fine when you are not traveling all day. Absolutely not recommended for older people or kids. Beds were not comfy and covers were not clean. Sheets were clean though. Breakfast was good and the bathroom was clean. Rooms in general are too small. For the amount I paid, I honestly expected something better. I travel all over the world and stayed in way better hotels but didn't pay that much as I paid for this room.

Customer Service was excellent!! Only issue is I had a hard time finding the hotel, maybe a bigger hotel sign outside the building will help. Over all, I highly recommend the hotel to stay in Venice! Close to all the amenities!! Oh the rooftop breakfast is amazing! Thanks to Kathrina with her excellent hospitality!! I will sure stay in this hotel again on my next Venice visit!!!

Property is perfectly located in the heart of Venice. We needed a room for 3 adults so we had 3 twin beds, which made the room a little cramped. The staff was awesome and very accommodating! We had to leave early in the morning to take the water taxi to the airport, but the staff made sure we were able to eat a quick breakfast before our departure. We wish we were able to stay longer

Clean hotel just be prepared for lots of stairs!

The hotel itself was very nice and clean! The actual building where it is located is leaning so everything is a little crooked and you have to walk up 3 flights of stairs to get to the entrance of the hotel(plus we had another flight of stairs to our room).. but the location is great and the breakfast was good!

The hotel was clean and the staff was incredibly nice and accommodating. The hotel is very old building but the rooms are renovated and beautiful Venetian styling. Hotel was difficult to locate and gps is hard to operate in Venice is my only negative experience.
