Highly recommend! An amazing experience. This is a quiet apartment/hotel fusion smack in the middle of everything. You have the privacy of the apartment but the amenities and the service of the hotel available if you chose to use them – cleaning, restaurant, etc. –. The staff is very friendly. Downstairs is all a tourist would need - a minimarket, a cozy restaurant for breakfast, lunch, dinner, late drinks. The view is amazing. Do not hesitate to book here.

The suites are very large which is nice. They are very clean, up-to-date and in a GREAT location. The only downside is the WiFi is SUPER slow. It is literally like dial up internet speed. WiFi is important when traveling internationally so this was a big disappointment.

We only stayed here one night following a cruise. It’s near St Marco Square but difficult to get there walking with luggage up and down steps and through the heavy tourist traffic!
It’s a beautiful very old building, but again many steps inside. To get to our room it was through lobby outside down a street, code to building, up elevator, steps 2nd elevator and steps again!
Our rooms were very nice once we finally got there!

We rented a suit. The location is awesome but that’s about it. The room is really spacious but everything needs to be replaced. The mattress is old and full of bumps and holes. The fridge is not giving any cold, the microwave is not working. The air conditioning barely works. The air intake for it was clogged with a thick layer of dust. Many walls have some dirty drips on them. The entire apartment needs to be repainted. Everything is dated for long time already. The sofa’s fabric is more than dated. We checked in without any smile. On the plus side, the breakfast was included and good with a good variety. This apartment was probably nice 20 or 25 years ago and for the price we paid we expected more.

Advertised 24/7 reception but never answered 30 calls over several hours from me and my agent about late checking in due to a cancelled flight. Instead, they cancelled my entire 4-day booking that I paid for in advance with no refund because we didn’t check in on the first day due to the cancelled flight. When we arrived a few days later on the first available flight they let us stay but I had to book a back up hotel as we risked being homeless due to their room cancellation despite the fact that the room was fully paid for. Rude staff didn’t allow me to speak to the manager regarding a possibility of a refund. The kitchen had zero equipment- no cutlery, dishes, pots and pans, completely useless and not worth the price paid for a suite. Will never stay there again.

Female staff is not helpful on the border of being rude, inquisitive and playing down your concerns/questions.
Place is very confusing to get to but once you know how the buildings are interconnected, it is manageable and understandable as it is a very old town and old structures that had to be adapted to modern requirements like elevators - they go only one floor and you need to change to another.
Be prepared to haul your luggage everywhere and constantly take it up the stairs in the building and outside.
Kitchen with NO cups, glasses, no coffee maker, just fridge and microwave.
Apparently there was mini bar that we never got to see and the clerk was telling that there was!! I'd better be not charged for anything as my two daughters are witness to empty fridge.
We were in the one bedroom suite with kitchen so maybe she confused me with regular hotel room - however it looks unprofessional on the hotel staff that does not know their hotel!

The hotel staff and location were superb. The restaurant choices were too numerous to count. Proximity to the square couldn’t be better, but one could easily walk to more neighborhood options that were outstanding and more reasonable.

The hallways were a bit of a challenge. In something of a labryinth with lots of small stair elevation changes. Very minor concern.

A lovely place to stay in a fantastic location. Suite was a bit battered round the edges but it was very clean and very Italian! Very good continental breakfast included. Reception staff were pleasant and helpful, arranging for me to have some laundry done (at a cost) and booking our water taxi for our return to the airport.
Would definitely stay there again.

The confirmation said check in was only from 3 - 7 pm. We knew we would not make it by 7 pm so trued to contact hotel by email and phone multiple times. Never got a reply. Turns out front desk is 24 hrs. Kitchenette had no glasses, utensils, etc. Complicated to get to room (2nd floor room required 2 elevators plus steps). Other than that, staff was nice, breakfast was good, and bathroom was nice.

This was a full apartment with balcony, dining table and living room (no kitchen except sink and microwave) connected to a larger hotel complex with 24 hour desk staff and only a couple blocks from San Marco square. Super convenient, nice and spacious and surprisingly quiet for the location. Great communication.

Lovely location close to San marco piazza. Lovely breakfast. Lovely big apartment. Bed was firm which I like but pillows very hard too. No coffee machine or kettle in apartment. No cooking utensils at all. A small fridge and a microwave oven was provided but again nothing to use with them.

Confusing at first on trying to find the exact place, but once we got a hold of the front desk, everything was great. The room they gave us was more than enough for a party of 3 adults and 2 children and has a window with a view of the tower just a block away, and street view of the restaurants. Not to mention, less than a minute away from Saint Marks Square.

We loved the large space, not the amount of linens or pull out couch (although it was clearly communicated to us). The breakfast and tour of Murano glass that came with the hotel were amazing. The front desk staff were so kind and helpful. We liked the bag check and wc access during the day. The proximity to Marco square was great! Checking in was not at the property we stayed at, but wasn’t far.

Excellent location just steps from St. Marks Square. 15 Minute walk to Rialto Bridge and Academia Bridge.
We had two suites, very large with 2 rooms, one with one bathroom and the other room with 2 bathrooms and a lovely large patio (on the 3rd floor). Each room had a large refrigerator and small cooking area. We would absolutely stay here again.
Perfect for families or couples!

Location, location, location! Centrally located and close to water buses and taxis. The room was spacious, but a aesthetically a little tired. However, if you are just coming here to sleep after exploring Venice all day, it was perfect for three people. Bonus that you only have to cross one bridge with luggage after departing the water bus. I would stay here again simply for the location. Note: You need to check in at San Marco Royal Hotel.

Great stay during the carnival period

The location is great, 5 min. walking distance to many restaurants and San Marco plaza. The room was clean, room size was also great, one bedroom and one living room. Great size for 1-3 people. The room was pretty quiet during the night (even during the carnival period). Probably because the room was facing towards the canal. Buffet continental breakfast costed 10 EUR, seems to be reasonable in Venice.

Excellent staff they were very helpful in locating the property this was our first trip to Venice. There was housekeeping daily and we arrived to a clean and well prepared room. This property is located on a few of the canals and is within walking distance of the clock tower and Saint Marco Basilica! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to visit Venice. There is a Gondola station right outside of the main lobby and water taxi and water bus station within a few minutes walk. Breakfast is available at the property but recommend just checking out the many options of Cafes nearby.

Terrible experience with hotel. Received room with no hot water and no air conditioning. Said they would fix and when they couldn’t they ignored communicating with us. Then they got us another room on the last day and the air conditioning circuit was shut off. Had to complain to get it turned on. It was 95 degrees in Venice so it was needed to come to a cool room. They promised to give me a credit and then when it was time to do so they said they wouldn’t. Terrible dishonest people and terrible experience.

HORRIBLE check in. We had no support to help w our three luggage bags. We had to drag our luggage through the streets over bridges in extremely hot weather. Hotel advertised having air conditioning but had a stand alone unit with a out funnel line sticking out the window in the living room with the open window exposed to the environment of heat and insects. Staff were unwilling to offer to help you or help you. Hotel room was so hot. We slept separately on our anniversary on the couch and day bed. Terrible place. NOT RECOMMENDED.

Room had plenty of space for a couple. Room service was great. Location was convenient to St Marks Basilica, which allowed us to take the water bus from the train station to St. Marks and we only had to carry luggage across 1 bridge. A continental breakfast was available for an additional fee.

** Warning: Do not take the complimentary boat to the glass factory. The factory tour was nice but then salespeople stalk your party throughout their shop trying to encourage/pressure you to purchase extravagant, but beautiful pieces. **

Centrally located. Lovely old building by the canal. Difficult to find on the first day and we ended up walking round in circles with young children. When we finally reached the address on the booking there was a notice saying the reception was somewhere else which resulted in more walking around aimlessly.

Breakfast choices the same everyday. Poor coffee from a machine- investing in a decent espresso machine would have been nice.

Despite the above, rooms were of a good standard and cleaned impeccably. Staff were friendly. Once we got our bearings it was easy to navigate.

The room was very nice except for the faeces that I had to clean from the toilet seat. Despite having a kitchen, there was no cutlery, crockery, kettle, or tea bags. When I asked for a kettle I was told it was 'not possible'. This was repeated several times until they realised that I wasn't going to accept this and then a kettle miraculously appeared!

Same with the iron - told many times 'not possible' but after insisting for about 20 minutes, again they suddenly seemed to find one. I had to be very careful with it however, as it had exposed wire in the flex.

After failing to get a response on the phone, I went down to reception for more toilet paper. No-one there for 10 minutes. Then someone arrived. He gave me some toilet paper but couldn't help other waiting guests as he wasn't employed at the hotel. As I left, the actual employee rushed in from the street looking guilty.

They did manage to bring us ice when asked and tried, but failed, without being asked, to find us a different route to the ferry.

A great few days in Venice spoilt by having to insist to the point of rudeness to get basic things that other hotels provide as a matter of course without needing to be asked. We never did get the cutlery. We used plastic knives and forks from the take-away next door.

Stayed at this property for 4 nights. Location was brilliant as it is right in the middle of Venice City, convenient when travelling with 3 children and their grandmother. Rooms were spacious and beds comfortable. We had are own balcony which was a bonus. It was beautiful sitting outside in the morning. My only issue would be that there was a small kitchenette available with no utensils provided. You weren’t allowed to use the cooker and the tap was leaking when used. Overall, we had an excellent stay and a fantastic break.

First timer to Venice

We arrived in Venice after an eight day cruise. We had a lot of difficulty being able to find reception (our fault we don’t speak the language). Once we found it there was a sign on the door advising us to check in at their other property. After that everything was nice. The room was spacious, clean and exactly as pictured. The staff were extremely friendly. Other than a couple of croissants we did not take advantage of the breakfast offered. They tasted great and the rest of the pancakes, bacon, etc looked just as good. The location was amazing and I would absolutely recommend staying there.

Great Location, Can be hard to find

The only problem was location. The Suites are accessed via the San Marco Royal Hotel. The address Hotels.com provided was a dead end alley with a sign on the door directing us to the San Marco. I'd make sure future travelers are alerted to this because carrying luggage through Venice is not a way to endear yourself to locals and tourists alike.

The hotel is okay but the layout of the building is weird. The elevator does not go to our floor, we had to carry the luggages, take a few steps down to take the elevator, then take a few steps up when the elevator gets to \"our floor\".
The most bothersome part is the name of the hotel is not Suites Torre dell'Orologio, it's actually called Hotel San Marco or something, and the address on this site is wrong. We had to carry our luggage, walked almost an hour, went through some many small, narrow streets full with tourists, asked many locals who doesn't speak much english in a 95 degree summer day after a long jet lag of staying up 24 hours straight. So you get the ideas how frustrated it was.

We were traveling with 2 small children (6 & 3) for only 2 nights. Our room was a HUGE one bedroom suite with 2 bathrooms, dining area and half kitchen. The location was perfect for the 2 nights with children (a couple that can move around more easily might want to be more adventurous). Although room showed alittle wear and tear it was CLEAN, comfortable, spacious! If u want modern lux don’t go here. We liked the authenticity. Regarding being hard to find- we hired porters ($$$) but worth it for us (lots of luggage, stroller, 2 kids)and they knew exactly where to go. We’ve moved on to Firenze (a modern chic smaller hotel) and our kids miss ‘our home’ in Venice.

Property was very well laid out, lounge, dining, kitchen. Large bedroom and bathroom. The whole apartment was very airy, which was great after walking around Venice in the heat and sun for the day. Location of the apartment was second to none, literally a stone's throw from St Mark's square.

Staff in the hotel are very pleasant and helpful. Didn't see much of them, but were on hand when needed.

The description of the apartments should be amended to reflect that the entrance to these is actually through the Royal San Marco Hotel, as when you get to where you think you are going there is a sign on the door telling you that you need to go somewhere else.

Nothing to do with the hotel, but if using Google to get to the hotel, get off at San Marco and not Rialto - wandering Venice when you get in late at night with suit cases is stressful.

Fully recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to explore the city.

We booked a stay in Venice for 2 nights. We arrived to the hotel and had such a negative welcome that it clouded the entire feeling of Venice. We left our bags in our hotel went for a stroll and the 4 of us said lets not stay here. We grabbed our bags and told the front desk we forfeit our 2 nights. The woman at the front desk was so unfriendly. Even when she took us to our room. Not a single ounce of warmth in her delivery. I am not sure if thats the itialian style but I wouldn't ever stay in a hotel with a welcome like that.

The suite was two bedrooms, beautifully redone, well furnished, large bathrooms. There was a kitchen with a small fridge, two electric burners, and a table with 4 chairs....but no utensils to use any of these and none available at the front desk. Location was great, a block off of St Mark's, but also a bit crowded and touristy as a result. Noise level was fine, except for the bells...duh....which rang all night and esecially early in am took a few nights to get use to them, Breakfast was excellent and the staff very pleasant and helpful

The staff were superb from the front desk to housekeeping, dynamic, engaging, extremely helpful at all times and extremely professional. A great Hotel with a superb Venetian feel to it and our Suite was massive with a very large balcony, fantastic location, we are going to stay here every time we come to Venice for the shopping. Location was excellent. It was right at the square, only 1 minute walk. Had a hard time getting the luggage to the hotel. There was no guidance from the hotel that we could hire the porter at the port. The address given was wrong also. It was for Company’s other hotel. The suite was good size. Only one small tv in the sitting room. No tv in bedroom. Microwave oven was provided but no cup of glass which could be used to make coffee or tea. Only very flimsy plastic disposable cups were there. Asked the person at front desk and he said we don’t have any. There was no coffee or tea there either. Over all it is good for 4-6 people who are looking for a place to sleep. Not for 2 people.

This property is a good value. About $100 per night less than most 4 star hotels in Venice. Clean, kept up well, very good staff and within 2 minutes to St Mark's Square and Basilica. Excellent location.3 minute walk to boat service. These are suites (with pull out couches), so we saved some money eating breakfast in, although we could have had breakfast at the hotel restaurant (which seems to only be open for serving breakfast).

Great location - once you've managed to find it!

Great location and a spacious apartment. A pleasure to come back to after exploring the city. Very difficult to find, you need to look for the Royal San Marco Hotel for check in. Staff are incredibly rude and only interested in their own conversations, try not to interrupt them by needing to check in or check out ;) We asked for a kettle that never turned up but we were not surprised by this. Others have commented on the rudeness of the staff and I see management have responded stating they will do something about it. They haven't so just enjoy the great location and accommodation and do not let the rudeness of the staff spoil your stay!

Difficult Hotel

We arrived at the address and there’s no entrance, we pressed the buzzer and were told to “follow the map” on the door to the main lobby. It was cold and raining so that made it worse. We get to the lobby about 10 minutes later because we got lost through a couple of passageways. REAL Name is ROYAL SAN MARCO & SUITES, we were confused. We check in and we wait about 15 minutes for the person who was going to take us to our room. When I tell you it was a MISSION, it was a MISSION. Up, down, up down stairs, out to passageways and then a tiny elevator only 2peopke with 2 carryon bags fit (we were 4, with 4 carryons), more stairs... truly annoying. We finally get to our room/suite... it looked nice, clean, nothing great though. Master room had a king sized bed, I let my mom and daughter take that room and my son and I slept in the smaller room with 2 twin beds. I sat down on mine and 3 boards fell to the floor. The whole night I was uncomfortable because the middle of the bed had sunken in. Just glad we were there for only 1 night. Breakfast was decent, nothing special. If I would’ve known I would’ve booked a room at the UNA Hotel. Stayed with them in Rome and it was a TRUE pleasure. UNA Hotel is my choice when I return to Venice.

Fab hotel close to everything

I enjoyed my stay at TDO suites, very comfortable very central, nice breaky, and fab terrace. Staff friendly and informed, flat excellent and very centrally located. Old Venetian style apartment, behind the main hotel. Excellent!

Suites Torre dell Orologio in Venice Italy

This is a great place to stay right in San Marcos Plaza in Venice. The suite was large and spacious, more like an apartment!

Just apartment not hotel

We where very disappointed This was 4 visits to Venice This is was just apparent hotel reception breakfast was in different place Bed in master bedroom was to small We couldn't fit with my husband he was too tall I sleet with my 5 year old in sofa bed in living room Worst sleep ever 2 teenagers in another room Pillows and sheets where uncomfortable If somebody stayed in Premier in hotel considered that luxurious!!!! We went to breakfast and by 9 and they couldn't cope Tables no set leftovers on every table Was shocking I went and ask for spoons for kids ceareals breakfast Waiter went to kitchen got me spoon and shouted Just one spoon!!!!! Sorry I have 3 kids ?!?so unprofessional I went to speak about this to manager and he didn't want to hear about it!!! Run away and say it's in progress Next day we skip breakfast there!!! I was glad we stayed just 2 nights pre cruise holiday Positions fantastic but nobody tell you about bell towers!! They start 6 in morning and don't stop till midnight You hear tham soo laude My son was keeping wake from 21:00 till midnight every hour He tought was morning We feal like Hunchback from Noterdam !!!!!!

Another great stay!!

We had another great stay at the Suites torre dell'orologio. You really can't beat the space and the location, right off st Mark's square. We stayed there 2 years ago and everything worked out well so it was the logical choice for a quick 4 day stay before boarding our cruise to Greek islands this year. We are a family of 5 traveling with 3 teenagers and the executive suite provided more than enough space for everyone. The front desk stay is terrific and there's even a nice breakfast included every morning at the hotel where you check in. We will definitely be back.

Good Location

Hotel is located very close to St. Mark's Square and the Grand Canal. Walking to shops and restaurants is quite quick.

The hotel itself is okay. The address of the hotel is incorrect on Expedia. Definitely call or email ahead and get the correct address to avoid tremendous confusion.

Hotel staff were hit or miss. Some are very friendly and welcoming, others are not unfortunately.

The breakfast is very good and filling. It was probably the best part of the hotel.

Rooms are very old and bedding/furniture is very outdated and uncomfortable. We did receive the upgrade we paid for, a view of the canal. If we visit Venice again, I think we'll try out another hotel.

Good hotel!

DON'T USE THE ORBITS ADDRESS - It leads you to a locked door with a sign telling you where to check in.

Check in and breakfast is at the \"Hotel Royal San Marco\" (San Marco, 848), which is connected to the Suites

Directions: In St. Mark's Square - facing the clock tower - with the basilica on your right, go left until you reach the next alleway in the middle of the colonnades on the N side of the square called \"Sotoportego dei Dai\" This crosses a canal and within 100 yards the Hotel Royal San Marco is on your right hand side where you can check in!

Finding a room for 5 travelers in Europe is difficult. In most cases, you need to book 2 rooms. This hotel offers suites with multiple bedrooms, and a living room which can sleep up to 6 people.

Our room had:

- a pull out couch in the living room that could sleep 2 (double)
- a double bed in a separate bedroom
- 2 single beds in a separate bedroom
- a small (unstocked) kitchenette - with a nice microwave and mini fridge

The front desk staff were helpful during the check in, and walked us to our room - which is a bit tricky to wind through and find.

The included breakfast was fantastic, with a large selection of hot and cold breakfast items, including eggs, sausage, bacon, yogurt, bread, fruits, juices, and coffee.

The beds were firm but comfortable. Note that they don't turn on the air conditioning until May 25, so it was too warm with the windows closed, with mosquitos when open.

Difficult to find, but worth it

Roma are scattered into separate building in the San Marco area so difficult to find the hotel lobby. Once found the issues were over. The rooms were great and it felt like we had our own apartment in Venice. Location off of San Marco square is wonderful. I would highly recommend it and will be back personally.

Having read the reviews I wondered what to expect. I was not disappointed. We had to ask directions forthe check in hotel but there are plenty of people around so not a problem. The room was clean and spacious with a kitchenette. Ours contained a microwave kettle and fridge with minibar but nothing else! I took cups, spoon, tea bags etc. Breakfast was very good. Varied and plentiful. Best of all was the location being close to st marks square and lots of restaurants.

No heat No hot water. Little concern or help.

Name on sign and door is \"Hotel San Marco\" This information may save you an hour because they gave directions three times during our hour + search, but never told us that there the sign on the door is that os San Marco. We had no heat and no hot water. At first the response was that we had to wait for repair. Eventually, we were provided a toom in which we could shower
In the confusion, my niece left a bracelet in the room
I called 6 hours ago and again an hour ago. Desk clerks unwilling to help because they are \"alone\". I am told to call tomorrow. I will change vacation plans to arrive in person. Hopefully I will not be required to man the front desk for a clerk who is alone.

Highly Recommend!

The hotel staff was wonderful. We were unexpectedly upgraded to a suite for two couples. It was spacious, peaceful, and beautiful. It was a little confusing to get from our suite to the breakfast and lobby, but that is probably just how it is in Venice. The breakfast was excellent, great coffee machine. Our only complaint was that there was no hot water for the last 24 hours. We didn't report it because we thought it would get better.

we reserved for a room turned out to be a bed and breakfast , they gave us a room in a different location from the lobby , tv didn't work, we checked out early morning the receptionist was extremely rude said the bell boy will be at work at 8 am, we had luggage we were lost in the small streets of Venice we could have been robbed 2 girls in venice at 6:30 in the morning we had a plane to catch , told the receptionist to meet us at the top of the street so we know where the lobby is , she refused she said I'm alone , gave us wrong directions, when we found the lobby after asking the police turned out she was not alone but lazy and rude and had no compassion for us 2 girls not speaking Italian, horrible experience never again.....
