This was a perfect location right on the canal with a supermarket and a café right out the front door however, this is not a staffed hotel. It is a beautiful corner of Villa with four other rooms with a magical sculpture lobby with the water lapping into the foyer it’s kind of mysterious, but cool in a magical Venice way and two minutes to Saint Marks and the magic of secret Venice.

Had a lovely stay in Room 22 nice size, spotlessly clean, nice view of a canal, location excellent to get around, right near St marks square and Rialto not too far to travel with your bags either.

Everything right on your doorstep, small supermarket lots of shops and restaurants including ristorante Sempione which was a 3 min walk.

You have to book in and collect the key from a different hotel but don’t let that put you off it’s on the way to Dolca Casa and the staff are so friendly and walk you round to your room. You get a wats app number if you need anything. Although didn’t receive the bath plug we requested (minor detail as we did also had a shower). TV didn’t work but there was no time to watch TV so much to see and do there.

Fair price for the room too when you look at some of the prices.

The staff in the hotel where you pick up the key was very helpful. But be aware there are stairs to climb over 2bridges the steps to room. Not ideal if walking difficulties.

This property was great for our needs. The room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. There were even outlets on both sides of the bed which was helpful compared to some of the other places we stayed on this trip. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Casa Dolce is basically guest apartments operated by Bella Venezia so there is nobody onsite at Casa Dolce. This was not a problem for us in any way. Check in was completed at Bella Venezia and then they helpfully walked us the half dozen blocks to Casa Dolce. This was really helpful because the streets of Venice feel like a confusing maze the first day or so. Breakfast is available as Bella Venezia for 12 euros. It is buffet style with a good selection of food options, but it is hard to beat a cappuccino and a pastry at one of the nearby cafes. The location was a short walk from Piazza San Marco and about a five to ten minute walk to Rialto Bridge so it was very conveniently located. If you are traveling with large/heavy luggage, keep in mind that a ten minute walk over uneven surfaces and multiple ups and downs on stairs over the small bridges can be taxing. Overall, Casa Dolce was just right for our needs and we had a great stay.

The view exceeded my expectation!! The location was amazing and we couldn’t have asked for a better stay. The only thing I would change is higher seats on the balcony and a fridge for drinks so that more time could be spent sitting out enjoying to the view. Absolutely can not wait to come back!!

They had us come to another place to checkin and then wanted us to upgrade to that hotel for twice the price.

The room was ok but the air could not keep it cool. The bathroom sink leaked and left the floor continuously wet

Right in the heart of venice

Lovely superior room right in the heart of Venice. The room was lovely, good a/c, comfy bed. Rooms cleaned everyday. Couldn’t complain could even just see canal from window. Only thing that could improve was having a fridge in the room but as the spar shop was literally opposite this wasn’t really a problem. The court yard in pictures no longer looks as nice as this but the whole building itself was quite quirky, very Venice and one of the cheapest rooms I could find so close St marks square. Bit of a faff checking in at a different location but our room was ready early so no problem really. Overall lovely stay.

Dried pasta on bedside table. Otherwise clean. Shower did not turn on (one night stay tried to shower AM before leaving). Annex was on a canal, needs updates but was nice even though repairs were obviously needed. Friendly staff. Hard to travel with luggage from hotel to annex, no porter available.

Martina on front desk amazing - but it is an old disused hotel - no amenity. The rooms are very tired and pictures make it look good when in fact it is a closed hotel. You also have to check in at their main hotel - and then walk to the accomodation - not ideal after a long flight. The atmosphere is bare, water damaged and the rooms are very tired. Would not recommend.

I liked the architecture and the vintage decorations of Italy. In Venice the Hotel location was close to the public transportation and was walkable to go to St Marks Square and the restaurants and shops. Most of all because it was so hot in summer, the air conditioner was great.

Room very small and run down. Does not look like images. Got woken up in the night by loud noises from street and other room. Window view of a wall. Location was fine, but essentially everywhere in Venice is walking distance. Expensive for the low quality of room. Service was very nice and walked us to the hotel.

El cuarto tenía una entrada que parecía bodega al abrir la puerta se ve una escalera en la que habían bolsas de ropa para lavandería y entrando a la puerta para el cuarto se muestra una estancia con muebles como amontonados.
Pareciera que nos hubieran prestado el lugar cuando el cobro de la noche no fue nada barato.
Cualquier huésped se merece un espacio digno acorde al precio que se paga.
No hay mucha iluminación por la noche, algunas luces se encienden de manera automática pero no en todo el pasillo para llegar a la habitación. Definitivamente esta habitación que nos tocó no fue lo que esperábamos.
No recomiendo rentar departamentos o cuartos a través de hoteles.com
Pero si recomiendo el uso de hoteles.com para hospedajes habitaciones de hotel, los estándares son totalmente diferentes

The staff were so amazing and really accommodating. The room is clean, neat and attractive. So close to the grand Canal and the Rialto bridge. Close to the water bus getting in and out. If I’ll come back to Venice in the future this is where I’m to staying again.

hotel not good WiFi, no address for gps, bad checkin- previous told reception @9pm received call shortly after and we were told we needed to come straight to meeting point at other hotel before we stopped to eat( we came from airport and did not like rushed) then we were rushed with our person guiding us to the casa dolce location ( my husband has a knee brace due to injury). The guide took husband’s suitcase to help but continued to walk too fast ( @ 1/4 mile), shower leaks in unit 2, bad lighting entry lobby to entry door casa dolce 1-4. Pictures on site are deceiving, the “guest house “ Casa Dolce is with in a vacant building. Some may say “we get what we pay for” but the is a little more on the under development of a place.

This place is great if you’re not looking for fancy, and more just a place to rest your head at the end of the day. It’s not a traditional hotel, it’s a handful of rooms inside an old bank. This was completely fine, we just didn’t realize it before hand. The beds weren’t comfortable but very comparable to other places we’ve stayed in Venice. It’s walkable to all things! 30 minutes from the train station and 5 from St Marks Square. We only interacted with the staff at checkin, and they walked us to the property, and they were great! We’d likely stay here again if we find ourselves in Venice again!

Stayed there for two nights with my son. The location was perfect. We were told about the check in being at a different location and someone from the other hotel that checked us in took us to the property. They were helpful and there was lots of places to eat and shop near by. Very close to St Marc’s square. And the waterbus.
It was loud in the morning when they were bringing supplies to the stores and hotels via boat that docked right outside our window around 4 am but not overly disturbing.
The main foyer inside was super slippery as the rain falls into the centre and where you can see the canal is wet and slippery also. I would recommend a sign that cautions people. I was dumb enough to walk down the step to look at the canal and seriously slipped and hurt my leg. Fortunately I didn’t fall in the canal. lol
Overall our stay was great and would recommend it to friends.

We got to the hotel 3 hours before our check in time, April was very nice, helpful and friendly. She let us to have our room early without any problem. She was very helpful. The hotel was very close to everything! Walking distance. They could do more cleaning in entire room( walls, curtains ) but the bed sheets and towels were really clean. I recommend this hotel, the price was good.

The location is excellent and the staff was very friendly and accommodating . The room and bathroom were nice and clean. From the building door to our room, was dirty and not neat at all. At night, we saw rats to the side of the entrance. Apparently, there are garbage cans on the corner of the street and at night, rats come around.

For a quick walk to everything Venice, this is the very convenient and a neat little place. Checkin is closer to the ferry’s and they help carry your baggage to where your room is located just over a bridge and through a couple of street turns.

Location NOT correct

We were looking for a long time at the marked location behind Saint Marcs Square. Turns out it is 300 Meters to the north (but still central). There is no reception there so make sure you have the check-in figured out in advance.

It was unique but very hard to find in Venice . There is no front desk service. We had to go to another hotel for check in and they took us to the place. It’s kind of like a rooming house. It’s by St Marks square and Rialto Bridge. Old world Venice style.

The property is charming and has a beautiful entrance that is in a fabulous location and right on the canals. We truly enjoyed the quiet courtyard and canal area. We also loved the big windows in the room that allowed us to open them towards the canal and enjoy the gondola and people walking by. We spend numerous days in Venice and enjoyed that we could easily return to the room and take a break or enjoy cheese and crackers while sitting and looking at the beautiful canal. The room was across from a small grocery store and it was great to get snacks and eat them while enjoying the canal away from the crowds. The room’s toilet needed some repair, although it was not broken and did work well. We loved this room and would recommend this place to our family and friends!

The real property did not match the pictures advertised at the time of booking. It was not mentioned that the property is mainly below the ground level without any canal or city views. It’s extremely overpriced.

The room amenities matched the website description. We checked in at one hotel, and the staff walked us to another building where we would stay. She showed us how to get in and shared recommendations for dinner restaurants. The main hotel had a great breakfast buffet for a reasonable amount. I highly recommend that you drop a pin when you get to the place that you will actually stay. We wandered around the streets of Venice and then had trouble finding it since we only had the directions to the main hotel.

There was a dead rat in the wall of the bathroom. The bathroom was full of black mold and mildew. The twin bed was a cot, and the full bed was a mattress of plastic.

Difficulty checking in, no hotel staff in building. It’s “under construction “ is a flag. I understand it’s an old building, however it is more like between a hostel and hotel. The shower door was broke so water went everywhere, they didn’t remove the last persons bathing soap, the toilet seat was broken, there was no fridge in the room and the air conditioner did not work most of the time. It served its purpose as we were out more than in however needs some fine tuning.

Check in was at a different hotel. Staff there were wonderful! The room we were in had lots of mold. I know the building is old but the black mold in the shower area was quite extensive. Location was great though and the staff who came in to tidy the room gave extra towels, coffee, and tea!

Super Creepy

It was super creepy to stay at this place. When we checked in, we had to go to a separate hotel to do so and the woman at the desk said, “you may think the building is abandoned, but it’s not”. We should have run for the hills then!!! It was incredibly decrepit- old mattresses leaning against walls, broken building materials in every corner, dead plants in the ‘court yard’… lights that didn’t work, there were dead mosquitoes swatted on the bathroom walls, the shutters on the window opened only when forced, and then only half-way, once open the room quickly filled with mosquitoes from the stagnent water and mud in the centre courtyard… There was no ‘canal view’ and the breakfast was a ten minute walk away and we had to pay extra for that. When we arrived and had to walk in the dark to find the actual hotel, the porter led the way - he was down-right surly- didn’t help, walked fast and far ahead, leaving one member of our group with limited mobility to drag her own suitcase. We were totally freaked out when he unlocked the door to what was essentially an abandoned broken building with a few permanent residents in some apartments - one whose screams echoed throughout the building at night. No one mentioned the room was at the top of three flights of very narrow stairs.

The whole experience was so incredibly creepy… anything would be better.

The room is beautiful warm and with details of comfort. The building is huge and elegant and it is not yet a whole hotel …it is being built by sections and the entrance and other areas are near clean and under construction.all is done in beautiful taste, I love this place. I love the location by a small canal and vey close to St Marks, Rialto and great restaurants. I m so happy with the choice of Dolce. It is not near Bella Venezia and the worker carried my carry on up and down the stores. About ten small blocks. Not convenient for elderly people. Great for young couples … just love it for me and it would not have been good without the help to make it here first. Needs to be finished ..no reception,

There was mold everywhere in the bathroom! I wish I could add pictures. This place was CREEPY. Everyone in our group said it gave them the creeps not just one odd ball. We ran into 1 other group staying there and they had they same feelings. This place felt vacant. My dad who never complains said if we had stayed here more than 2 nights he would have said something. You check in to a very nice hotel and then they walk you 5 minutes away to a dump.

A wonderful place to stay. There is a waterway which passes your doorstop and two restaurants within thirty seconds walk. So easy to get to San Marco’s Square, around a two minute walk. Venice is a busy city and once you close the main door and then go through to your own apartment, it is peaceful and calm. I strongly recommend as a great place to stay.
