Great location, close to the Rialto bridge! Very friendly staff that so graciously made restaurant recommendations and reservations for us! The only downside was the beds were VERY firm, and caused us not to get much sleep during our stay.

We enjoyed our stay. Good location. The front desk attendant was very helpful. Very quiet and dark for sleeping. Recently renovated room with modern but small bathroom. Two minute walk to Grand Canal and 5 minutes to St. Mark’s Square. However, the bed is very uncomfortable. Very hard. Also very steep stairs.

Lanterna Marco Polo was situated in a central location, easy access to every thing. Room had air conditioning and a private bathroom. Would recommend!

It’s a great hotel in the City. When we checked in we were greeted by a very nice man (Michael I believe) who gave us suggestions on where to eat, and visit. The room was clean and relaxing. There is a little sitting area on the roof which has a nice breeze. We enjoyed that we were right in an active area of Venice. There is a great little coffee shop to the right of the entrance door. The room we had was on the 5th floor, and there is no elevator, but great views of the city. We loved our time there and would stay again.

We enjoyed our stay at Lanterna di Marco Polo. It was initially a bit confusing as there was no check-in staff for our arrival around 6pm. However, we did receive an email with instructions to help us get access into the building. The staff member the next morning was very helpful & kind—thank you! Room bedding & decor is quite outdated, but the room was clean & the air conditioning was great. There are no elevators, so if I were staying here again I would request a room in a lower level especially if one is traveling with heavy luggage &/or has a hard time with stairs in general. It’s conveniently located within a 3-4 minute walk to water transportation. Everything is fairly walkable in Venice, and we found excellent restaurants & shopping within minutes of the hotel.

Office is only open until 1:00 pm but I was sent several messages from Anna on how to get in the property which was straight forward and easy. Michael and Anna were extremely helpful throughout our stay and the hotel is on the Centre of Rialto which was walking distance to everything. The Rialto bridge is a 5 minute walk. The hotel is very old fashioned, and seems to be a traditional Venice hotel experience. However, it was very very basic, not very comfortable, shower and toilet facilities weren’t great and importantly there was no lift so had to walk a windy creepy staircase with all our luggage. The breakfast is also just a croissant and a drink. Another key issue we had was that one of our guests was bitten by a bed bug. We spent most of our time in Venice trying to stay out and just used it as a place to rest our heads. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful, but the hotel is something I wouldn’t recommend.

This hotel was wonderful. Riccardo and Guido were the nicest men and they were very helpful in recommending places to visit, restaurants, etc. The hotel is very old. 1490's old. But it was perfect. We fell in love with Venice. The location of Lanterna di Marco Polo is the best. The rooms are very quaint but nice. Showers are super small but did the job. Only drawback was that there is no lift (elevator), and we were on the 4th floor. It was the 3rd floor but they count from 0 in Italy, lol. WE LOVED THIS PLACE. Our group of 7 was split between 3 rooms and all of us thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Venice. We loved getting lost in the maze that is Venice and soaked in the food, wine and scenery. Such an amazing place and thanks to Riccardo and Guido who made our stay so nice and relaxing.

There is nothing to like. The hotel has rno facilities for any drink or water. There is no contact number to call anyone. There is nobody Manning the place after midday. No contact number was offered. The room is small and two beds pushed together to make a double bed. There was bed bugs and we got bitten most nights. In a small room they used partly as storage. It looked like a folding bed was stored and looked like a double he'd. It was all covered. The bathroom is small and there is no space to store toileteries. No telephone in the room. It is not worth the money they charged. It's not comparable to a two star hotel. The photographs on internet are deceptive. Not a true reflection.

Nice hotel, perfectly located. Only issue was the hotel doesn’t have an elevator, so it was difficult to get the suitcases to the 2nd floor (good we weren’t higher).

Perfectly located between the Rialto Bridge and St. Mark's Square, this rustic little boutique was great for our two nights in Venice. The host, Guido, was friendly, funny, and helpful. The location couldn't be better. It's a charming place, as long as you're not looking for opulence or modern conveniences. There is no elevator, so lugging the luggage up a few flights was rough, but not a dealbreaker for us. The mattress was a bit hard, but we were so beat after our day of exploring, it didn't matter. Overall, a nice, memorable stay.

1000-year old hotel
Located in the heart of Venice, the hotel hides itself among the twisting streets and canals. We arrived late, but the owners went out of their way to give us an access code to enter, and had keys ready for us upon arrival. The hotel is very old: built in the 1000s (yes, almost a millennial old!), the stairs are windy and tight, but the rooms safe and likely renovated in the 20th century.

Such a great hotel! Located right between the Rialto Bridge and St. Mark's Square, it was the perfect location to access all the usual tourist areas of Venice while offering a nice, authentic neighborhood feel with multiple amazing restaurants and coffee bars. Room was clean and comfortable with a great shower (which is hard to find in most European hotels!) and the AC was key in the Venice summer heat. Check-in-out was very easy, even after-hours (we arrived late in the evening) and the managers were helpful and welcoming. We'll definitely book this hotel again when we return to Venice!

The location and the front desk staff were very polite and spoke good English. However we ended up covered in bedbug bites both nights and later found one in our suitcase after investigating a little deeper. I’d like my money back as the rooms were also dirty with no soap or shampoo and cobwebs in many areas. I understand the Venice old world charm but this was too far.

The hotel was great with friendly staffs. Room was clean and I felt very comfortable staying there. Getting there was easy, it's close to the Rialto water bus station and the map with directions they emailed me was very helpful. The location is great, right in the middle of the island so it's very easy to go sight seeing from and it's very close to St. Mark's square.

Nicely appointed room, with a vintage look in keeping with the architecture. Great location close to many attractions with easy access to three different sestiere (districts) as well as a quick walk to the vaporetto stop at the Rialto Bridge. Great breakfast/lunch available at the bar right next door. What really sets this place apart, though, are the hosts. When they found out I was attempting to improve my Italian speaking abilities, they worked with me and encouraged me to keep it up, especially Guido. After exchanging many stories about our lives and experiences, mostly in Italian, I felt that Guido and I had truly become friends. Given the crush of tourists in Venice it was a pleasure to have this room to relax in slightly off the beaten track and to have made the acquaintance of our welcoming hosts.

Small charming B&B in the heart of the Rialto area. It’s a great location in the heart of Venice, easy to get to any neighborhood. The owners are very helpful as well. I would stay here again. Our room had nice air conditioning, nice bathroom, and pretty comfortable beds. It was quiet at night as well for such a busy area.

Cute guesthouse steps from Rialto ferry stop
Great experience for our first two nights in Venice - first time in Italy. Riccardo was charming and welcoming. I'm so glad he took our bags up as it was 3 floors up narrow stairs. Building itself is 600 years old so I was impressed with how well it was maintained. Room wasn't large but it was comfortable. There was also air-conditioning. Windows opened into clean Venetian alley streets. Bit of a tight squeeze into the shower stall - I'm a regular sized person so it'd take some gentle coordination if you were 6ft and 200 lbs. You won't be disappointed with Lanterna di Marco Polo.
