Room was cool. A little hard to reach toilet with stairs for senior, but cool to have two different rooms. Our room was facing a high traffic area and we heard loud people passing all hours of the night. Door could use soundproofing. Staff was great. Especially check-in staff. Bed was a bit too hard as well as pillow flat. Breakfast left much to be desired. You can leave bags, but, they don’t watch then. Just in a pile near the entrance. We had pickpockets try and rob us twice. I saw no reason why they wouldn’t just come in and steal bags given staff was behind a wall out of sight often. We decided to use luggage storage instead. Great area though.

We stayed 3 nights in a triple room in November. Room had dated furniture and decor however was clean. Room service was great and ensured room was cleaned everyday. Room was warm though and had no air condition and reception staff asked to leave windows open. This was during cooler months so not sure how it works during summer. Decent breakfast provided.

The hotel is a great location but unfortunately it is a place to be endured rather than enjoyed. The room was incredibly hot and the bathroom very smelly with no window to air it. I asked reception to turn down the heating but it didn't change. The last straw was a couple talking about bed bugs at reception. We found another 3 star hotel with friendly staff, a kettle in the room, and a great, fresh buffet breakfast. We couldn't get a refund for any of the nights but it was worth it.

This was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had. The staff were extremely rude and unprofessional. When we arrived, I politely asked to see the room before check-in because I had read reviews mentioning bed bugs, and I have allergies. The young man at the front desk responded very rudely, saying, “If you have allergies, stay home! I’m not here to show rooms — this is what it is. If you don’t like it, go to the Hilton!” His attitude was completely unacceptable.
All the staff were impolite, and the whole place smelled bad and felt damp — both the lobby and the room. The bathroom was unusable; when my husband took a shower, water spilled all over the floor since there was no curtain or glass divider, leaving the toilet area soaking wet. That probably explains the damp smell everywhere.
Our triple room had a sofa bed that was broken, dirty, and so uncomfortable it couldn’t be used. Breakfast was terrible — very poor quality and little variety.
Overall, I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Charming hotel very close to San Marco Square. The look is antique/classic but well preserved and clean. Bed was a bit hard but aside from that, it was a nice and convenient establishment.
Service was good, although we had to put up with other tourists in front of us asking a hundred questions to the front desk attendant lol. Not the hotel's fault obviously.

The room had some issues. The shower head holder was broken and the shower door broke on my 2nd day.

Getting from the front desk to the room was an adventure. A convoluted combination of goi g up an elevator, down halls, then down stairs, more halls then up stairs. I don’t mean for that to sound negative...I just think some people will want to keep that in mind when booking. For me it was part of the charm and i felt like I was staying in a very old building....again...that added to the charm.

The location is fantastic. If (when) I go back this is the first place I will look at to stay.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! BUGS! Smells horrible. Bed horrible. Service nonexistent. Food not worth even for free. Worst hotel in my life! So hot in the room you had no choice to open window then room filled with mosquitos all night. Super noisy from alley traffic. The bed was 2 twins shoved together and hard as wood. Pillows (only 2) were hard & flat. The ONLY positive thing about staying here was the location to St. Marks square only 2 minutes walk. There are amazing restaurants close by so you are not hostage to the meager offerings here. We’ve traveled this trip to 9 countries and this experience ruined Venice for us!

The man that greeted us when we checked in was so rude and should find a different job. Be aware that the air conditioning only stays on for 5 minutes and then turns off and you have to keep turning it on and sometimes it wouldn’t even turn on. Our room was so hot it was miserable. Our room and the halls stunk so bad. The beds are so old they still have springs in them.

Would recommend you find another hotel to stay at. Finding the room was terribly inconvenient as it was not even in the same building. We booked two nights and left immediately after the first night as it was infested with mosquitoes and possibly even bed bugs. We had booked two nights at this hotel..when we arrived they gave us different hotel..which was not even 1 star..how come they gave us a different hotel then what we had booked…I called Expedia at the same time but Expedia couldn’t do anything!!!!!

It was good value, not the biggest room but well presented with friendly staff. The breakfast was a bit of a let down, cold salami and cheese every day with cereal but it was included in the price can’t complain too much. Good location near St Marks and decent air con which is important for a good nights sleep with the local humidity.

Room in another odd building on 3rd floor, no elevator and crazy instructions to get in, and your key card gets you electricity. Had bug bites all over my face and body when I woke up and the bed is practically on the floor and as thin as a cracker. No wash cloths and had to argue to get a towel.

The property is very old and dated and the night staff was not that friendly, but the location is seriously amazing, with easy access to everything and a short ride on the water bus from the train station. Free breakfast was fine too. We were also able to store our luggage there after checkout as we explored more. This was also very convenient.

The toilet lid was broken, there was no handle on the shower door to close it tightly so water leaked out all over the floor surrounding the shower. The waiting lobby with furniture was dark as well as our room with poor lighting.

The hotel is so old that i believe the red carpet is also 200 years old. I stayed at many old hotels, but this was the worst. The mattress and bed so hard, my bones ached for the next 2 day. Do not choose this place as with all the money they have made, at least they can replace the mattresses and carpet every few years. Breakfast was terrible. I ended up leaving this hotel and getting another.

Hotel location excellent , But Staff and Service are extremely horrible, especially : both elderly age reception desk staff gentlemen attitude and lady carless toward customer need. Seems they are tired to deal with tourists.
They do not care our views about hotel experiences and believe still tourists will come no matter. Even check out time no thanks no good bye ! Being Kind Does Not Cost Nothing ! We came with family for Vacation for experience Venice is beautiful but hospitality experience disappointing ...... Highly NOT Recommended !!!!!!!

The hotel was really decent but I traveled with my mom and was a bit uncomfortable for her all the stairs with the luggage
The receptionist was not the most friendly guy but maybe it’s a cultural thing?
If you book this hotel and have issues with stairs please contact them before hand so they can put you in the first floor. The place was very close the San Marco square.

Decent Price but Not a Decent Stay

We arrived and no greeting. Just check in. No talk about services offered for site seeing- Just about breakfast. We go to rooms and only one has A/C working. We mention twice on the second day and they say they’ll get someone to fix it. No one ever came to fix it. Thank goodness we had our personal fans to help us get through the heat of four days!! ! The housekeeping service was great and provided us with clean towels, made beds and clean bathrooms! Just work on customer service when people arrive. This came as a recommendation but we will not be doing the same.

Me and my friend stayed here the people at the front desk were super rude and unhelpful. Out shower didn’t have a door or shower curtain, when we got in the room and sat on the bed the headboard fell off the wall. The refrigerator did not work and when we asked if there was anything to do about it the guy infront was rude and seemed to not want to help. Overall it was a very bad experience we didn’t even sleep well because the bed was springy and horrible would not recommend and would not be going back.

I liked how close this property is to the St. Mark's Basilica and square and that it is within walking distance to most places.

But the space is really small for a family of 4 and it had a little smell. Not sure what was causing it, as this was close to ther water.

Worst hotel experience ever!
This place should not even be called a hotel. The power went out during our stay, the rooms smelled like mold and looked disgusting, and the toilet seat was broken. There were no toiletries provided, even though they promised to bring them—and of course, they never did. The air conditioning didn’t work, the sheets were filthy and smelled terrible, and to make it even worse, there were BEDBUGS in the bed. Absolutely unacceptable. Stay far away from this place.

Was sort of close to the water bus stop, however if you have a luggage, you may suffer a bit as in your 6 -7 minute walk, you’d have to carry your luggage up and down the stairs on the bridge. Other than that, it was a good space. I had the single for one person and it was enough space for me, quite safe as well! However, prepare for mosquitoes. I think it’s just a Venice thing.

Horrifically small room

The check in - was slow and shocked we had to leave the hotel and enter through another door, unable to access the main hotel from our room.

Our room - itself was horrific, not what we booked at all and was very small with ceiling falling down, carpet upturned and marks covering the walls. Bathroom was clean but there was no seal bottom of shower door so flooded the bathroom and into bedroom carpet. The bed is a very small double and barely fits two small people so good luck if you are larger.

Breakfast - is literally some juice, coffee, croissants, museli and cornflakes with some ham and cheese, very packed and the breakfast times are 8-10 not 7-10 as shown online.

Check out - the staff was replying to email for 5 minutes before just asking for the room key card, didnt even ask how stay was etc.

The front desk guy was arrogant and rude. There are so many steps even if you take an elevator. I’m 65 years old and despite taking the elevator we still had to carry our bags up four flights of very steep stairs. Luckily some kind Indian workers carried my bags for me. The room itself was decorated in a classic Venetian style. It was also very quiet. The breakfast was okay. The area around the hotel had great restaurants and it was literally a 2 minute walk to the Doges Palace. Overall I’d say go for it but just know you need to carry your bags up and down stairs.

The property was not as upscale as Hotel Saturnia, which I lost, due to erroneous booking unfortunately. But in the end I was so happy because it served my purpose of why I was in Venice. It was a creative project of my art show, YouTube filming and photo shoot. Being just 4 minutes away from Saint Mark's Square was such a plus. There were also restaurants all around. The only thing is my hair dryer broke in my room. Thankfully I had my crew's room.to use. Otherwise, it would have been a disaster.

The bed was terrible, it was hard and had springs with no padding. The men in the front were all either rude to us (ignored us completely) or hit on us ( yup we got harassed by staff, we are two women traveling alone). The hotel itself is super cute and convenient. Good restaurants very close!

Fantastic location. Breakfast was good. One member of staff really helpful and friendly. Other staff member did not action request . no safe in room, meant we were walking round Venice with all valuables. Basin leaking so could not use. Additional beds unbearably uncomfortable.
However, the beauty of Venice outweighed the negatives.

The location is excellent 2 mins walk to San Marco. The air conditioning was excellent. Breakfast was a bit chaotic as only 1 area for all breakfast and 1 coffee machine. Limited choice too. The hotel is a maze you get written instructions on how to find your room! The bar was never open and staff not very approachable.
