The rooms and food were great. The service was very ok. At Comal the food was very slow and they never checked in for drink orders or to fill waters. Not a great experience for a 300 dollar dinner. Same thing at breakfast. The pool service didn’t clear chairs when people left. The service got better towards the end but overall was disappointing for the price. One and only or las Ventanas are much better places to stay.

While the property itself is beautiful, the overall experience did not feel consistently luxury, especially for the price point. True luxury is about anticipation and execution, and that is where this stay fell short.

There were repeated service lapses throughout our visit. Drinks arrived incomplete, an appetizer was forgotten, and our dinner reservations were mishandled twice. Housekeeping was missed one day, and we had to call maintenance to fix the lights in our room. At the pool, service felt limited once settled in, including no proactive towel refreshes or basic upkeep at loungers. These details may seem small individually, but together they detract from a seamless experience.

Although the resort markets itself as family friendly, pool food does not begin until 11 a.m. and drinks until 10 a.m., which does not work well for families with young children who are at the pool early.

We were also surprised by a $3,500 incidental hold. A charge appeared on our folio that was not ours, and staff seemed unclear on the difference between a refund and a reversed credit card charge. Late checkout was initially denied, then granted after the resort acknowledged an error.

Most staff were kind and well intentioned, but service consistency was lacking. This was especially noticeable compared with Susurros del Corazón, Auberge.

The most amazing thing about this property is the staff. They take hospitality to an entirely different level. I celebrated my birthday here Solo and it was not missed at any point during the vacation and was recognized when I checked in at the bar when I ordered drinks and even my last breakfast at Comal.

High end but no energy or romance

So resort was dead, no life, no fun. Pool was beyond hot. Only 3 restaurants. Prices ridiculous for food. A bowl of oatmeal with tax and service charge which is always included would cost over $30. All the food was bland with very little taste. Couldn’t even get snacks as no real lobby gift shop for snacks. Staff was amazing service was top notch. Feel of resort is one of isolation and loneliness. Property is very well maintained. Oceanfront room was gorgeous inside and patio very nice. For the price pool should have chillers for August and September.

We had a fabulous time at this property over the weekend. They truly made it such a special birthday weekend for my partner. The service was phenomenal, shout out to Pablo and Comal, Tathiana and her team at the pool, Maria at YAYA and special thanks to our amazing concierge Mau. We are vegan and they were able to modify many options for us at every restaurant. Through the weekend, they sent little birthday treats for my partner to keep the celebration going through the visit. The room was lovely and spacious. The outdoor shower attached to the room was truly lovely to use. We can’t wait to come back!

Best place we have ever stayed in Cabo! It is incredibly upscale without being snobby. The grounds and rooms and amenities are incredible. Sometimes I feel like I book an expensive vacation and we get there and we're all underwhelmed by how shabby it feels but Chileno Bay delighted at every turn. Staff was fantastic too. Special call out for our concierge Mauricio who thought of every detail and was so responsive and helpful, Andres our poolside server who was attentive, funny and sweet to our kids and finally Elizabeth at Comal who was so sweet to my baby.

Loved Chileno! Absolutely fantastic place! If you want to see paradise this is it. Prices are well worth it. This resort is centrally located between San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas which makes it a great distance between both. Overall amazing experience and we are definitely going back soon!

The good: beautiful hotel, accommodating staff, TnT restaurant and Yaya restaurant were both very good.

The bad: Comal restaurant was disappointing. My wife has celiac and cannot eat gluten. During our three night stay at Chileno Bay, we ate at Comal twice (a dinner and a breakfast) and she food was cross-contaminated with gluten on these two occassions. Disappointing as we were only there three nights and she was sick our entire stay. Not so great when paying the price we paid.

The liquor prices were unfortunate and downright silly...325.00 USD for Tito's vodka when you can buy it in the supermarket for 37.00 USD....Auberge is being silly and or stupid treating people like that...The rest of wines and alcohol are equally silly....Also they tag guests for additional 700.00 for service charge when you check in....that should be disclosed upon pricing the resort....Will not go back nd the food was nothing inspirational and awfully salty.....Great people work there but I think management has let them down....

Beautiful resort and large rooms. Great service. The restaurants TNT and Comal were both disappointing and we would not eat there again, though in a stunning location and Comal is especially well decorated.
I felt like the boutique was expensive and they could have more gift options at a lower price point. Would have liked to see more Mexican artwork/ small crafts for purchase.

What a lovely place! We feel that we were there off season since it didn't seem to get busy until the end of our trip and we had much of the place to ourselves for the most part! The room was comfy, fabulous balcony with ocean view and we did see whales from there. The pool was perfectly warmed, beach nearby with cabanas and great snorkeling and kayaking available! The food was delicious at all dining locations and the customer service was above and beyond! Can't wait to return!

Nothing is a problem to get & all your needs are always taken care of with a smile.
Even when I had to call the Dr. for my daughter I have never experienced the high standard in care, Dr Adrain was remarkable & kept in contact with us checking on her progress until we left the hotel.
Activities I booked were more than expected in food, hospitality, cleanliness & we had so much fun.

We just got back from Chileno Bay Resort and our experience was amazing. The hotel is beautiful, the design of the rooms, the pool, the restaurant is elegant and chic but at the same time it has a very relaxing feeling. My favorite feature was the outdoor shower, it is so relaxing!! The view from the restaurant is spectacular, you can see the ocean and the clifs. We spent a lot of time at the resort beach, the cabanas are very nice and the service from the guys is amazing, always so attentive...they also have cayaks, paddle bording, snorkling..chileno beach is so nice you definitely need to spend time at the beach. The food at the resort is very expensive but it is good!! We loved our stay and cant wait to go back. Highly recommend!

The resort is a top notch 5 start luxurious experience. Amenities and structure aside, the staff really makes this entire resort what it is. They great you by last name throughout your entire experience, make everything so easy and relaxing. They go above and beyond to make sure your stay in enjoyable. It is on the pricey side but its an experience you wont' forget.

Rooms, facilities, pool, snorkeling, and food is all amazing. No complaints whatsoever.

Had to think hard about finding a complain and I can't think of anything. If there is anything I would recommend is allowing access to the steam room early on. I like going early in the morning but the steam room is connected to the spa which opens at 10am so I didn't steam. This is nit picking of course but if I had a recommendation it would be to allow earlier access to the room. Nevertheless this does not impact how amazing the resort is.

The hotel was absolutely stunning!! The grounds were beautiful and every detail in the restaurant, rooms and pool was perfect. The service was excellent and they went above and beyond with any requests. The breakfast and dinner at Comal was delicious and the lunch options by the pool were our favorites! Their signature cocktail is a must! We unfortunately did not get to play golf because of Covid restrictions, but the course looked to be in great shape!

Where do I begin? This is resort is flat out paradise. From the moment we walked onto the property my wife and I were greeting by name and escorted to our room where they had fresh guacamole and 2 fresh made drinks ready for us. The staff was incredible (Joel, Karin, Dulce, Rodrigo) thank you so much for all your amazing hospitality. The photos don't do justice, this place far exceeded our expectations, we will probably stay here every time we come back to Cabo. There's not one bad thing I have to day, thank you for treating us so well!

Awesome property and awesome staff. Drink prices are high as well as food prices. Typical drink is $20 USD. For one breakfast I had two eggs, a side of sausage and coffee. My husband had avocado toast, a side of sausage and coffee, total cost $75 USD plus tip. Seems rather high even for a luxury resort. I say this just so people can plan on the additional cost. They also have a beach that you can swim in and snorkel that is private. You can also use the public beach next to the property were the resort also has non motorized swim gear, snorkel, paddle boarding and private seating area. We use the public beach most days because the beach isn’t as rocky as the private beach. Our first day there you could see the fish in ankle deep water. Even with the addition the cost we loved the property, the excellent staff, beautiful property, and good food. If you like fish try the fish taco at TNT restaurant. Side note there was construction ongoing at the property when we were there. It didn’t bother us at all however our room was not near it. We will definitely good back.

This resort was incredible. During our stay a hurricane was headed towards Cabo (terrible timing), but my husband was a little upset about a few things which weren’t their fault. Long story short the resort made up for it, and went just above and beyond. Truly the best resort with the best staff. Only thing I’d say is dinner at Tomasa is not the best, but their breakfast was great. TNT had great tacos and guacamole. Be prepared to spend $80 on a meal with no alcohol! But, you get what you pay for and this resort is amazing.

Go for the Property, Not the Food

Gorgeous property, don't go for the food. We've stayed at other Auberge resorts and expected good food. To our disappointment, it was bland and not fresh. The first day I ordered one carnitas taco and the carnitas were really dry, I sent it back. Onother time I ordered the chilaquiles and the dish was warm salsa on top of a pile of chips - no eggs or beans. This quality of food isn't what you would expect when you are paying at least 2 or 3 times the price of what the food is actually worth outside the resort. As beautiful as the property is, we're not planning to return.

Amazing Resort! I researched about 10 different resorts in Cabo before booking with Chileno Bay. So glad I went with them. Photos don't do this resort justice, its even better in person! Food and drinks are a bit pricy but I knew that before book from reading other reviews. I was totally ok with the prices since the food was delicious and the hospitality was incredible. It definitely made up for it. Plus, how can I complain about a few extra bucks when im in Cabo! My wife and I got picked up from Chileno Bays driver. We were unsure about using UBER. But once we got there, we took an UBER into town and it was totally fine and very inexpensive. The beach was so nice! It is a public beach but Chileno bay has a section only for guest. Plus the beach was packed with tourist since its one of a few swimmable beaches in Cabo. All in all I was very satisfied with my stay and already in the process of booking another trip for next year there!
