I normally don’t leave reviews, but our stay at the Residence Inn by Marriott Los Angeles LAX was extremely disappointing. We checked in around 1:30 PM on Valentine’s Day during All-Star Weekend and were told that water service would be restored by 4 PM due to a plumbing issue. In reality, there was no usable water until after midnight, leaving us without the ability to shower or use the room for over 10 hours.

When water was partially restored, it was milky white with visible dirt particles, which was unsafe for showering or other essential use. There was no management available on site, and no alternative accommodations were offered. The lobby was filled with other guests frustrated by the same issue; some were even sent to nearby hotels to shower.

This was a complete disruption to our evening and plans. While emergencies happen, a hotel must provide basic amenities, and this stay failed on multiple levels. We do not recommend this hotel unless these issues have been fully addressed. Expedia did everything they could to correct this but unfortunately all the local hotels were fully booked.

Photos of Hotel in booking were not as photographed. The pool is very disappointing. The only reason we booked there was based on the photos that they showed of the pool. Which was definitely not. The pool. Hotel itself was clean room was big. Disappointed they charged us 50 odd dollars to check in an hour early.

We arrived at the hotel front desk at 11:50 PM and were suddenly told there was a building-wide water problem and that water could not be used. The only thing they offered was a refund if we wanted to cancel. We were traveling with a 10-year-old child, and at that late hour there were no other available hotels nearby. Despite this, there was no real apology and no alternative solution offered — just a simple “you can get a refund if you want.”

I carefully researched and selected this hotel after reading many reviews and descriptions, so it was extremely disappointing to be informed of such a serious issue only at check-in time. They made it sound like leaving at midnight to find another hotel was simply our choice and responsibility.

Since there were no rooms available elsewhere at that hour, we had no option but to stay. The bedding did not appear to be freshly cleaned, and even after we went out the next day and returned, there was no housekeeping service — no cleaning and no towel replacement.

This was one of the worst hotel service experiences I’ve had. I would not choose to stay here again.

After a long travel we get there check in one out the door make it to front at 3:00 the multi bed handicap room is not available they say come back at 4 o’clock because the water off but will be on at check in when I come back water still off but he say he upgraded room
Room was no upgrade and only had 1 bed needed to be dress for my 8 o’clock event at 7 o’clock got undressed to take shower but water was still off while naked in room heard door open it was house keeping came in room saying he was told room was empty stayed in room for about 1 minute explaining why i hid behind the door saying im naked.when I complained all they said is I would get free parking. Horrible experience

When we arrived we were informed there was no running water and no way to be able to use the toilets. So we cancelled. We were told they would refund us, but it would take a while.. So I am hoping they will keep their promise to us. I don’t understand why they did not inform us earlier so we could make other arrangements.

Everything was fine but the water went off in the night and they told no one. I went to the gym but wouldn’t have it I had been alerted in any way. Would have been so easy. Post something by the elevators or leave a message on the occupied rooms. I spent almost $500 to arrive at an important meeting disgusting.

We stayed at this hotel for 7 days and overall enjoyed our stay. The staff were consistently friendly, attentive, and helpful. However, the breakfast could be improved, as it was the same every day and the eggs did not taste very good. Despite this, the service and overall experience were very good, free shuttle service to the airport. Very expensive parking $$$

Cons: Booked this hotel because it was near LAX and had a free airport shuttle and breakfast included. Waited at LAX for an hour for the shuttle which was supposed to come every 20-30 minutes and finally took the shuttle from a neighboring hotel and walked to our hotel. Breakfast was terrible it was like the hotel ran out of money and decided to buy as little as possible for breakfast. Maybe a total of 7 items including eggs, tater tots, white bread, one type of cold cereal oatmeal and yogurt. No bagels, English muffins, wheat bread, pastries, waffles, pancakes etc.

Pros: room was nice enough and clean, gym was large with lots of equipment

The room was really dated and the furniture was half broken. I was also disappointed that all “services” came with a price tag. Early check in shouldn’t be an additional cost if the hotel can accommodate customers. Felt it was quite exploitative. Also housekeeping should come at least every other day but was told the come every three days by reception.

I had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay and was extremely satisfied with my experience. All of the staff were kind and welcoming, and Wally was absolutely adorable.

I was pleasantly surprised by how well soundproofed the room was. The bathroom materials also seemed to help moisture dry quickly, which made it very convenient for drying small laundry items (of course, the on-site laundry facilities were also available and helpful). The shuttle service was extremely convenient, and the room itself was spacious and comfortable.

The only minor issue was the occasional noise from the refrigerator, and the sound when the air conditioner was turned on. If these could be adjusted in the future, it would make the stay even more perfect. The staff were very kind and considerate of my situation, as I stayed for more than a week for medical reasons. Throughout my extended stay, I felt well cared for and overall very satisfied with the experience.

The so called breakfast was a joke at best, My Husband and I went down at 8:15 AM for breakfast, there was little to choose from to begin with and after the servers restocke! !!!! The options were are fallows. Oat meal white bread cereal ,sausage eggs and well under cooked tater tots. . no Milk yogurt juice etc.Ive seen better breakfast offering at far less expencevie Hotels This was real eye opener.

The room itself was spacious and exactly as described; however, the service was extremely disappointing. At check-in, there were no blankets in the room, and when we requested them, we were told it would take a couple of hours to receive one.
The front desk staff member, Shay, was particularly rude and unhelpful. Despite another front desk employee confirming that our room was ready and available 45 minutes before the official 4:00 PM check-in time, Shay insisted on charging a $39 early check-in fee.
Due to this miscommunication and unprofessional behavior, I had to escalate the issue to the manager, who ultimately apologized for the front desk staff’s handling of the situation. Unfortunately, the poor service significantly detracted from an otherwise acceptable room.

There were a couple of hair ties left behind in the bathroom and they were obviously run very rented out rooms. But clean. They had a nice snack shop and fresh donuts. Large room with comfortable beds and plenty of accessible power points to charge up devices. Although we didn't need it, the kitchen was a decent size. Overall staff were great and the 2 shuttle drivers we had to and from the airport were good. We didn't fit on the first shuttle bus that stopped and the driver was quite rude (one person actually got off and caught the next shuttle with us as she was so rude to him).

The front desk staffed were not friendly when I checked in, almost like I was being inconsiderate that I wanted to check in. The room was ok, but the bathroom was the worse. The sink drained so slow and when I went to tell the front desk, they let me know they would send someone up. No one ever came during my whole stay, which was for a week.

I typically will stay at a residence inn cause I’m familiar with their service, but I don’t recommend this location.

Very close to airport. Took us 6-7 mins to get to terminal 2. This is the last stop for the shuttle. Shuttle comes every 15-30 mins depending on traffic.
Rooms were very quiet. Clean rooms with kitchenette that is well stocked. Comfortable beds. Water pressure is great. Very hot water.
Comfortably slept 5 people with pull out couch. Couch is quite comfortable.
Luggage weigh scale in lobby is convenient.
Pool area is very clean.
Breakfast in the morning is decent. Very clean area. Well laid out.
Easy to get food on hotel property.
Staff very friendly
We needed towels and a blanket. I made it to the room for about 25 seconds when it was all delivered. Excellent service.

Overall a great stay. Especially being next to the airport.

Airport shuttle was easy to find. Room was nice but not as nice as the reviews I read before going. Also the area has very limited eateries. You have to travel for finer dining. Over all it was a nice stay thanks to confident people that worked there. Appreciate their opinion on stuff to do while we were there. The pizza on site was actually pretty good.
