Shoppes nearby, parking was accessible. No one was on site at check-in initially and that made the process difficult. I chose this place based on the fact that it had a pool, but the pool was covered, though the weather supported an open pool. The shower leaked very bad and water was all over the floor. I left early because of this fact.

I booked here by mistake, intending to book at the Takapuna International Motor Lodge which has a rating over 8. Instead I booked this much lower rated accommodation and, well, you get what you pay for. Staff did their best. Very nice staff. But the accommodation was underwhelming.

Place was ok but dated, needed a more thorough clean
(marks on walls etc) and desperately needs double glazing. The windows are so thin and the joinery hard to open/close and as it's on a main road it's very loud. I imagine winters would be freezing! Could do with a smart TV as well to stream our own platforms.
Otherwise, we had what we needed for a reasonable price.

Do not stay at this hotel. It is in a state of disrepair. With a snapped chain and a broken bolt you could not lock the front door, there were stains on the duvet that looked very much like blood, the light and power switches had face plates either missing or broken, the room was dirty, there was rubbish in the public ares and the stairwell. We had booked for 7 nights and left after 1 night. They refused any refund due to the fact when I complained that they offered to move me to another room, I declined due to the fact that the whole hotel was in such a dreadful state. Look at reviews outside of Expedia before you take the risk of booking here.

Check in was unattended and locked and our key wasn’t in the drop box as expected. We had to ring three times before someone answered the phone at 9.30 at night. The metal stairs up to our room were rickety and slippery with a large gap at the bottom between the steps and the railing. The TV remote control didn’t work, there was an overflowing stinking ash tray on the landing and the property is neglected, broken tiles in the bathroom, dirty sink, and ripped hand written signs on windows and just generally run down and untidy.

The element had only one element functional and the shower head had to stay upright otherwise it washed my feet.
Security around credit card details and ids is not great and should be reviewed.

The room smelt of cigarettes. Dirty dishes in the cupboard, stains on bedding, and couch also lift up part of couch was filthy. Someones old toothbrush was also in a bathroom draw. No plug in kitchen to do dishes. Iron also was old and leaked.
Outlet fixtures some were barely hanging onto the wall. For the price each night was very over priced for the cleanliness and state of the room.

It could be cleaner,the room wasnt cleaned after the last people staying. We found rubbish under sink, no plug for kitchen sink, fridge/freezer was dirty. Sheets had a marks on them, no egg flipper, very little utensils for 3 people staying.

It work for what we needed, just need to be cleaned or checked guest arrive.

This is by far the worst place I have stayed in NZ. I am shocked this lodge is still operating. It is dirty, unsafe, misleadingly advertised, and completely mismanaged.
Reception was closed on arrival. We had to call a number that went to a call centre, then waited a long time for a staff member to arrive. The receptionist struggled to understand English and had to call someone to translate. Basic communication was extremely difficult.
Our room had no toilet paper. When we informed staff, he did not believe us and searched the room himself before finally providing some. The room was filthy and very dusty, with loose hanging furniture posing a safety risk. One bedroom light did not work.
The linen was old, dirty, and worn. The duvet inner had no cover, cushions were frayed, and the kitchen was not cleaned—the coffee pot was left dirty on the bench. We booked for four people, but only three beds had linen. The fourth person slept on a broken couch after we were forced to request extra linen. The laundry we were shown had linen thrown on the floor.
The pool looks extremely old and was closed. The advertised kids’ playground had only two broken swings. The photos online are completely misleading and do not reflect the actual condition.Other guests were also complaining, but we had no alternative accommodation. place is a health hazard. I would never recommend it to anyone. Avoid at all cost.diasappointed

I have only put one star due to the fact that you cannot put no stars.

As a former motelier of 16 years, I would not recommend anybody booking at this particular motel.

I had booked and paid for a 3 night stay for our 38th wedding anniversary, on arrival I was asked for Credit Card for security deposit, I informed that the room was paid for and I would not be paying any more money,

They put through a manual payment for $102 without permission.

When we got to the room,
1 One window couldn't open due to latch being broken.
2 One window couldn't close due to latch not being there.
3 Room was old, dated and dirty
4 Enough crockery for 4 people, only enough cutlery for 2 people.
5 4 Element stove in the room, 1x 6\" saucepan in the whole kitchen.
6 Water pressure, NON EXISTENT {had to run around in shower to get wet}
7 Office never opened in 3 days.
8 On checkout had to call answering service to get someone to the office to process my refund, where I was offered a $100 refund, I refused and told them you took $102 from my account you put back $102, they tried to explain that the $2 was a bank charge and they only received $100 to which I replied the bank only charges for pay-wave, you put the charge through manually without permission, they tried twice to refund $100 and I refused twice, fortunately at that moment the police pulled a car over in the driveway, I stated oh good here is the police and got my $102 refunded within 30secs, the fastest anything happened at this place

When we arrived at the property, it was a tricky check-in. We arrived in the room which was uncleaned and nothing like the pictures. The staff were helpful in getting the room actually cleaned, but we had to leave and come back again.
There were no beside lamps (as per picture) and the rooms/walls could do with a fresh paint job. The bathroom curtain is very tired and not attached to the wall properly and kept coming undone. We paid quite a bit of money for this room, it did not live up to the expectations unfortunalty.

Extremely disappointing stay and nothing like what was advertised. We booked and paid for 4 people, but the room was only set up for 3. One person was forced to sleep on the couch, which was not acceptable. When we raised this and asked for a change or solution, management refused to help in any way.
The room was also dirty. We found a used band-aid left behind, which we had to clean up ourselves. That alone is unacceptable from a motel charging these rates.
There were also serious issues with the windows. Two windows did not have latches, meaning they could not be properly closed from inside. We literally had to push them shut from the outside, which is unsafe and ridiculous. On top of that, the kitchen window had no window coverings at all, allowing people to see straight into the room where the couch and one of the beds were located. Zero privacy.
We were also unexpectedly asked to pay a bond on top of the hire fee, which was not made clear upfront. To make matters worse, we still have not received the bond back.
We contacted the motel asking for assistance and some form of compensation, as the accommodation was not what was advertised. They refused to refund anything or offer any help whatsoever.
Overall, poor cleanliness, misleading advertising, safety and privacy issues, and terrible customer service. I would not recommend staying here and will not be returning.

This place is a health risk, super disgusting. We could not stay in this dirty, unkept, unmaintained, grotty place and asked for a refund, which was refused. We had to pay out again to stay somewhere else. I will be reporting this place to the Council who will hopefully close it down. DO NOT STAY THERE

There are alot of hanging cobwebs from the Bedroom ceiling. One of the windows in the bedroom won't close. The curtain netting has mold on it. Wall plug outlet in bedroom is faulty and dose not work. Wall plug outlet switch has almost popped out so we didn't dare use the TV. Over all.... A very unsafe room for a family with little kids.

This property is nothing like the photos, it was filthy beyond words. The grounds un kept, we had chicken bones outside our door, beer bottles out front, the place did not look like it had been cleaned in a long time. The pool was covered and appeared like it had not been used for quite some time. Spa was the same with cloudy water.

Nice place to stay. However, with us being there for most of the week, there was no check in at reception, we waited for an hour and half for check in. The cleaning staff did not check our rooms to see if we needed fresh towels or rubbish cleared or tea/coffee topped up. Apart from that, it was a nice place to stay

This was the worst motel we have ever seen. We actually didn't stay and had to quickly book another motel which was hard last minute. The place was filthy, and the room which hadn't been cleaned was not habitable, the receptionist didn't speak any English so had someone on a speaker phone trying to organise all the arrivals. We don't think this this motel should be allowed to operate.

The room was okay, one bed had dirty sheets, we had ants all over the place, dirty walls. No lights by spa so we were in the dark when we took our kids in. With no one on site it meant we had to keep ringing. It also went to after hours at 7.30pm when it says after hours is 9pm on their call line. It was a decent size two bedroom. It could be better for sure. We also had dirty cups on check in.

The staff member was helpful, helping us set up the sofa bed and provided sheets. We were told there were blankets in the closet. There wasn't. Lots of things that need repair. Power socket hanging off the wall. Shower door didn't stop water from spraying all over the floor in the bathroom.
I would not recommend for a family to stay here.

We booked a room for 4 people; 2 adults and 2 children. We were aware this meant 1 queen bed, 1 single, and 1 pull out couch. But the pull out couch didn't fit in the room, so our daughter slept on the couch as it was. Therefore, this is definitely not a 4 person room.
Otherwise the location was perfect, property clean, and the room had everything we needed (other than the right amount of beds that fit in the room!).

We booked on the day of our stay, was 2bdrm not 3 bdrm (other bed was in lounge) TV wasn’t working, spa was out of order and had been for a few weeks (with no info on website about it) bathroom didn’t have a bath even tho showed in images- we were looking forward to a soak after a day hike. Apartment was clean however we were frustrated at not getting the facilities we saw in images.

Don’t do it is my advice. We arrived at 4.30 on check in day to find a closed office and no sign of any staff. A note on the window said if the office was unattended we should have an email giving our room number and how to access the key. There was no email. We rang the contact number provided (which obviously provided a service for multiple hotels) and were asked where we were and told that someone would be there to help us shortly. No one came as we waited in the cold for at least 10 minutes. We rang back, we were then provided with a room number and the code for the key lock box. Room ordinary and not well cleaned in parts (a piece of dental floss in the bathroom drawer which was stained and unpleasant. Did not see a staff member for the rest of our overnight stay or at checkout the next morning. Spend your money somewhere else.

We stayed three nights. The room wasn't serviced at all. no clean towels no face cloths rubbish bins not emptied no plug in the bathroom basin the shower leaked onto the floor. Over all not a good experience.
On the Saturday night other guests were partying out side until 2am and management did not put a stop to it.

Disappointing Stay – Poor Maintenance and Lack of Basic Amenities

The property was very run-down and not as advertised. Several key amenities were out of order, including the pool, spa, and washing machine. We booked the place for six people, but there were only five beds available, and no towels were provided.

The overall cleanliness was lacking—the oven was dirty, plates were chipped, and the floors were sticky. The beds were old and uncomfortable, and my room had an unpleasant musty smell, like an old man’s lingering odor.

The only positive aspect was the location, which was great. However, given the poor condition of the property, I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless major improvements are made

they ask for a $100.00 bond when you arrive and then they will deposit it back into your visa account, in this case they took another$100.00 out, by the time you check your statementits a couple of hours later you are well on your way, they dont answer they phone.
Would NOT RECOMMEND this motel at all
