Room was 1 floor above ground level right next to a Terminal entrance. Car horns all night long along with Police Sirens and the Police yelling at the driver's of the cars picking up or dropping off at the terminal. Absolutely no sleep. For the money charged for 1 night's stay, Absolutely worthless.

Not worth the money/watch for double charges

On the surface an ok hotel with a different kind theme. We booked a room with a view and paid extra money for it, our view was a brick building and a cisco truck. After mentioning it to staff all we received was argument and aggravation with no solution offered. So don’t spend any extra money booking a view.

The fun did not stop after our stay as we learn the Hotel charged us again for an already paid room, curious enough it was a les expensive rate than I paid Hotels.com but you win some you lose some.

The food is terrible for the money at the hotel resteraunt so skip that if you can.

I have been using hotels.com for years to book rooms on business and personal trips and this is the only bad experience I have had with billing issues or getting what I paid for so this is the first time I have felt I needed to leave a bad review to warn others.

Cool 60s décor with easy access to JFK airport and parking. Comfortable beds but could use better reading lights. If you get a room with a view it's fabulous but lower level rooms can look out onto cement walls and traffic.

I booked an overnight stay here 3 month ago to easy my AM overseas flight. Due to covid issues, my flight was canceled and I didn’t need the room. They refused to refund me, even though I wasn’t even in the country. I tried through Orbitz as well as direct contact and was told my room is non refundable. Zero compassion for Covid hardships, and would rather just take a persons money. I planned on using this hotel a lot in the future and would have spent a lot more but they’re a bunch of crooks and I’ll never return.

The retro 1960s \"kitsch\" is fun, and I am a big fan of TWA.....but it is very expensive for what is provided.
To start, no automatic doors at entrances.....making it difficult for travelers with large pieces of luggage.
Our room had a TV mounted to the side wall so that to exit my side of the bed required repositioning the TV and contorting myself on strange ways. Lighting in our guest room was poor. They are also clearly understaffed ( but I guess that is par for the course these days.
This will be a great place to stay on e all the kinks are ironed out

Very disappointing.

How disappointing in such an architectural treasure. The hotel is difficult to reach on foot (I walked through a parking garage). The front desk is not obvious. The public space had filthy, stained carpets. The bedrooms are small but comfortable, but no coffee machines and no refrigerators. Although food can be purchased in the 'food court', there is no restaurant and thus no breakfast.

Very inconvenient to get too if you fly in to JFK. Roon was the smallest I have ever stayed in. Size of my clothes closet at home. Oh and theroom did not have a closet. Way too many steps and no elevators conveniently located. Absolutely the worst hotel experience ever.

Property is a beautiful time capsule to 1960s and very fun lobby and fixtures. Great pool on roof.

I got no sleep. An irregular stobe light (probably connected to a fire alarm system) went off intermitently and made it impossible to sleep more than a few minutes at a time.

This property could be great, the worse element was your entrance. Please help yourselves and change that dirty red carpet. put red something else.
It is so dirty that we almost turned back.
It does not cost that much to remove that carpet and replace or put some other red flooring.

Two things i found the cleanliness of the floors in the lobbies and red carpets dirty. If they had sparkle that would have really given the stay 5 stars. Also the pool net picking on paying to visit it or paying to use the bar was laughable. We all laughed going down the elevatoe. Better to raise the cost of the stay. The TWA hotel is like time travel back into the 1960's, very cool! You can't beat the styling of the hotel and rooms. The draw for me was the Lockheed Starliner cocktail lounge. Super unique and a lot of fun. We had a problem with the room blinds and facilities took care of it very quickly. Great service and friendliness from all the staff. We look forward to our next visit.

The check-in process was disorganized as it wasn't clear what counters were open. The gentleman at the counter seemed bothered that I asked if he was available to check me in. Once inside the room, some basic amenities such as hand soap and facial tissues were missing. Overall it's a nice throwback experience but it's the little things that make it a great experience.

We stayed just one night as a stopover returning to West Coast from Europe. Fun experience and so convenient to the terminal. Found it very interesting that this hotel seems to be a destination stay for locals, saw many bachelorette/birthday party groups. People dressed to the \"nines\" and some even in themed 60's gear. But our rooms were quiet and cold w great A/C, was so glad the food was open 24-hours in the food hall since we landed late. I've seen comments about the red carpets in the main hallways, the hotel has posted signs now explaining that the carpet is on order :) Not a big deal, or something to ruin the stay. I thought the theming and vibe was really cool. Super easy to walk just a little ways to get to Jet Blue ternimal in the morning.

rooms are nice. but when you request a runway view, you don't necessarily get it. but the red carpets that lead from the lobby to the room areas are so disgusting and dirty, its shocking contrast to the otherwise lovely rooms. the food in the lounge bar area is super bad, the worst I've ever had in my history of hotel stays. and very expensive for what it was. most important, they do not put coffee machines in your room. so you have to go in your pajamas with your hair a mess in your slippers down to the lobby to buy a fancy (but delicious of course) cup of coffee. its just a shame that they have not treated this amazing piece of architectural history with love and care that it deserves. a true shame.

Red carpet and floors in the common areas are filthy. Impossible to get a hold of anyone if you need something—Our room did not have a garbage can in it. Pool is extra to use. $50 per person which I didn’t realize until we checked in. Rooms are clean and beds are very comfy. Paris restaurant was yummy and had a good vibe.

The ambiance of the hotel was amazing. It was like stepping back in time to the 60s. The room was comfortable and amazingly quiet in spite of jet take-offs and a thunderstorm. The condition of the public areas wasn't so good. Carpets were stained and dirty. We had no hand soap in our room upon check-in. I called the front desk, but none was ever delivered.

Valet- valet person made me circle 5 times before He finally decided to park my car. We were staying for the night.
He seemed understaffed

Me and my girlfriend were celebrating our anniversary however and simply asked if we needed reservations
He then proceeded to berate us. He started to explain what a reservation is and then went on to sEat others. Maybe because of our skin color or the way we were dressed.

However, the female hostess noticed his behavior then seated us promptly.
It was very embarrassing.

the overall design was remarkable. the tube carpet was really dirty, but i can imagine the difficulty of keeping a common walkway in red carpet - clean. The restaurant was really good. service at check in and in particular for the room was really poor. I waited (and had to take time out to call 5 times) for soap. The bathroom had little to no amenities/products. The soap dispenser was empty and the operation among the clean staff and front desk is clearly not well integrated. To me.. the architecture firm and marketing firm have performed well. the hotel operator does not perform well at all.

Remote missing from room. No water, coffe or tea available in room. Shower dirty. Front desk did not answer phone on 6 attempts. Only option was “0” on rotary dial phone. Called from mobile 2x and no answer. The TWA experience was good. Restaurant meal was quite good and can recommend the steak and wine. For $300 I was extremely disappointed.
Ridiculous to charge cover to have drink at pool. Delta sky longe far better option as is the Centurion Longe

Best part of our stay was the rooftop pool overlooking the runway. We were there on a Thursday so the $25 per person charge was a lot better than the $50 per person on Friday/Saturday. I’m sure it will be ridiculously crowded once traveling is back to normal numbers.

The room was fine. Very limited food options - no sit down breakfast. Some of the public areas - especially the rugs - were so dirty.

It was convenient to the airport - a few minute walk to the AirTran.

The blind was broken to pull down. I found a cockroach scurrying when I moved my boot to leave in the am. Also the guy at the front desk was not very friendly. He looked at us and pointed to the “self check in” and barked orders at us for not knowing how to do it on a computer. Then it took us forever of wheeling around with our suitcases on carpet to find where are room was. It’s poorly marked and since the guy at the desk was so “helpful” we didn’t want to ask him. $18 for a drink and the bartender was rude as well. It’s a cool hotel but I wouldn’t go there for the customer service or the quality of the rooms

Would recommend to visit/see it but not stay

The positives: cool re-use of an iconic building. Interesting use of materials to outfit the rooms. Very comfortable beds.

The negatives: walked in and had zero idea of where to check in. Turns out you self-check-in at a kiosk. Overall staff interactions unfriendly at desk/phone (but great at food/coffee locations). Room design seemed like it had been for the chic factor without thinking about someone actually using it.

- Bathroom floor - gorgeous terrazzo. Except in the shower, it was so slippery (maybe a cleaning product?) that I had to lay a towel on the shower floor to stay upright.
- Shower glass was halfway across the opening rather than more like 2/3 of the way, so water poured all over the bathroom floor (see note above about slippery terrazzo).
- Small bedside table between two beds - had a USB charger glued to center of table (nice feature). Remaining space on table was not big enough for an ipad to fit.
- Internet quality was intermittent. Went out three times in the 14 hours we were there. The last time was more than an hour when we finally had to leave. The phone in the room is VOIP so there’s no communication when the internet is out. Elevators were out so we took the freight elevator.

Overall not impressed with the place for a stay, but love the 60’s design of the public spaces. Would definitely recommend to visit it!

the airtran was not running on the evening i arrived. i had a lot of luggage which i had to walk to the hotel by foot even tho there was no designated walkway wide enough for a cart. when i tried to call the front desk for advice on how to get to the hotel, i was on hold for over 30 min. when someone finally picked up, she was very nice but couldn’t offer any compensation for my inconvenience. the front desk attendant also gave poor instructions on how to get to my room, so i spent an additional 15 min trying to find my room. eventually, i had to ask another service member for directions. the room itself was very clean and comfortable but the rest of the hotel seemed to be in complete disrepair. the carpets were filthy, the lighting was oppressive, there were drunk ppl passed out throughout the lobby. typically, i am used to there being a limited menu after hours but they had nothing to offer except for the food hall (not an affiliate of the hotel) with a sad selection of cold cut sandwiches. by the time i got to my room, i was too exhausted to enjoy any part of the space. in the morning, i was awoken my landscapers knocking against my windows as they worked (not their fault, just poor scheduling on the hotel’s part) and the window in my room was closely parallel to a busy road with a direct view into my room. in order to protect my privacy, my windows screens had to be closed throughout my stay. i could go on but i’ve reached my character limit. do not stay here

Our second time staying at the TWA Hotel. I keep searching for the excitement but it just never came. I love airplanes and the actual terminal is cool but the employees handling checkin in and the parking facilities leave us with a bad impression. Valet parking is a joke. You park your own car and you get charged $20 for valet. This last time I was actually charged double $40 for parking one night. Their service app failed and has me checking out like 5 hours after the fact. I am not coming back and I don’t recommend it. For $345.00/night we got a match box room with view of the maintenance areas. Good bye

Common area carpets were filthy and our floor hallway carpet wasn’t cleaned the entire time we were there for 13 days! Rooms were comfortable except no garbage can except small one in bathroom and no closet with door just some racks in the open. It’s meant for one night stay or two. Housekeeping was not there every day. Had to call again and again to get anyone to come. They came three out of 13 nights. Paris Cafe food and service was outstanding. Rugs not vacuumed for the whole time we were there. Filthy. Cool TWA items. Nice TWA airplane bar only open weekend staff there very friendly. It’s cool hotel for couple nights. Just service lacking except Paris cafe. Recommend that highly. Our checking Teo did get us an upgrade to the room with view of airplanes which was nice.

The valet was horrible overbooked. We had to park at another terminal. The guy had no clue what was going on. Check in is at 4:00 we didnt get our room until 5. Overall it was a very nice experience but there are areas of concern in which they should address.

Public areas of the hotel look great, except for the heavily stained red carpet, and the background period music is right on. Service left much to be desired though. Had to call the front desk a few times for housekeeping. Had to personally ask one of the maids on our floor to do our room. Could not get to the pool terrace because of an all-day private activity. Can accept that, but not the brusque shove off we got from an employee when we asked at the door. Couldn’t get to the Constellation either. It was either closed or used for a private activity during the 2 1/2 days we spent there. Stateroom was a bit dusty. Spartan accommodation. No closet, no amenities. Body wash bottle completely empty. Only a single nugget-sized soap bar. Front desk staff was attentive but unsmiling, the tone that of perfunctory courtesies. The hotel is better suited for stopovers, which I guess was its original purpose. Less so for family vacations.

I couldn’t sleep, almost all night. Room 837. There’s some vibrating noise non-stop as if you’re sleeping next to a spinning washing machine. It’s probably from AC, but I’m not sure, it’s coming from outside of the room, you can also hear it in the corridor. Turning off the AC in the room doesn’t help.

The red carpets in the lobby and the main corridors also need cleaning urgently...

Overall a great concept and great location, but a total lack of attention to basic elements of comfort. Sad!

TWA Motel a Must Do!

Had a long layover at JFK and a friend recommended staying... so glad we did but wish we had more time to really explore the whole site! A \"To-Do\" for sure

I loved the unique 60's character of the hotel. Unfortunately, the pool cuzzi was closed for a private function & Connie wasn't open during my stay because it was a weekday so i wasn't able to make full use of the amenities. I would have definitely gone roller skating too but again only available on the weekends. Next time I have a layover, I will definitely try to arrange it for a weekend! We had a delicious dinner at the Paris Cafe & the Ginger Margaritas were tasty! Excellent service too! The rooms were beautifully designed with womb chairs, wood & brass accents , terrazzo bathroom floors, awesome views and the bed was super comfy with quality sheets & pillows. I loved everything about this hotel & can't wait to return!
