Very Cleaning updated. All Around excellent experience. The only minor dings were the shower has a sliding glass door. The first panel is fixed. You have to go through the open panel in order to turn on the water so you get hit with cold water if you're not careful. Also the rooms are very nicely updated and I wonder why they didn't put in comfort height toilets instead of the old school Lowriders. The other Positive significantly outweigh these two little minuses. It will be my go to near JFK.

Staff check was dreadful. No eye contact or even a smile. Also no info given regarding shuttle back to airport, we had to ask him. Room was noisy due to construction nearby, and other guests around us. We arrive late so we didn’t eat or drink anything during our stay so I can’t comment on those aspects of the hotel. On a positive the room was clean and comfortable

The room was a nice size with comfortable beds. Shower was very easy to use. However, the room was not clean and the airport shuttle was not available as promised due to them not taking reservations and assuring that people could make their flights on time. We had to use Uber and staff didn’t seem to care. Also phone in room not really operational which could be a safety hazard.

Breakfast was good. The shuttle driver was excellent. However, the motel has no luggage carts. I had to manage getting 5 large suitcases upstairs to my room. I was thankful for other patrons.
Davin was amazing. Very personable and friendly and attentive.
I had already paid for my room and found out after I arrived that I had to pay $150 deposit for incidentals. I couldn’t use cash. It had to be my card. I did get it back.
The shuttle doesn’t go to the second airport in the vicinity. I had to pay an additional $78 to get an uber from LaGuardia to the motel.
You will get more business if the shuttle runs there as well. It only said shuttle service and failed to mention LaGuardia wasn’t included.
If it hadn’t been so late and my room already paid for I definitely would’ve considered another establishment.
If you want help with luggage don’t go there

Hotel room and the bar were amazing!!! The only thing that was really upsetting is I had a shower, made for someone who needs help. As in, rails and a seat. AND NO TUB.
When I turned on the water, to take a shower, instead of the bath I wanted to take, there was no hot water. So I was pretty bummed on that.

Who has ever heard of a hotel without a cart for luggage. The $50 parking fee was outrageous.
Most agravating is that expedia's website changed my reservation from LGA to JFK and would not correct it. So we had to drive from Jamaica to Astoria at 5 in the morning to catch our flight.

DoubleTree used to be a premier brand. The JFK DoubleTree is faded from is glory. The entrance lobby is stark, greyish, cold without decor to brighten it. The shades of grey in the paint full the senses. The restaurant menu is Denny's. The hallways bleak.
The room was spacious enough and clean, but the HVAC fan rattled all night, the hot water in the shower never got really hot.

It’s an airport hotel so you can’t expect too much. Waiting for the airport shuttle in the cold for 45 min in the middle of the night is how it began. Then we only got one room although we booked two. The no refund policy tells you everything. If there was some level of customer service, that would not be needed.

The DoubleTree itself was lovely — clean rooms, friendly staff, comfortable beds, and the warm cookie at check-in never gets old. On those merits alone, it would be a five-star stay.

However, I was deeply uncomfortable to discover that ICE agents are currently being housed at this property. I was visiting the JFK area to pick up my sister from an international flight, and learning that the hotel was serving as a base for federal immigration enforcement significantly affected my sense of ease and safety — as I know it would for many travelers, families, and guests of diverse backgrounds.

At a time when immigration enforcement at JFK Airport is causing fear, long lines, and documented distress among travelers and their families, I believe hotel companies have a responsibility to consider the message their hosting choices send to the broader public. A hotel that caters to the traveling public should be mindful of all its guests, not just those in uniform. Other guests deserve to know before booking, and I would encourage the company to reconsider.

I would happily return to this property — the hotel itself truly deserves five stars — but not until they stop housing ICE agents.

my room I felt like it was not cleaned. I woke up to find out I slept in the bed with someone’s eyelash, hair, and stains. I was highly disgusted. I just assumed the room was clean. Just pull you overs back at all times. You never know what is lurking between the sheets!

Check in was excruciatingly long, and it was 11:00 pm. One of the staff was incredibly rude, she tried to shuffle the line into multiple lines... I went from near the front to last, when she realized what she had done, after going back to her desk... she rudely yeld at me to just move to the front. Something i wasn't comfortable with and I had not said anything to her first. Then myself and another person checking in were both assigned the same room. They got to it first and the key didn't work. When i walked up, mine did. They were insanely frustrated and went back down to the desk to straighten things out (the sane long and slow line)
Shuttle bus was overcrouded and too small. Most people just took Ubers rather than wait for multiple ones to come around (one every 30 min or so).
I can not recommend staying here.

I called the hotel for airport shuttle at around 10:55 pm, but the shuttle did not arrive until 11:40 pm. That’s a 45 minute wait for a 10 minute ride. Also, the breakfast costs $25 for lukewarm eggs and bacon, which I would be fine with (given that it’s NY) except for the fact that there was a used napkin with an obvious orange stain that was sitting on top of the pile of clean napkins next to the buffet bar, with staff passing by it multiple times without removing it until I mentioned it. My overall experience didn’t match my expectations, especially given how much they charge for the room and the breakfast. Management and the staff need to do a better job.

Stayed at this property during a layover for about 12 hrs. Previous flight arrived later (2am), nevertheless, reception staff were very gentle to arrange the shuttle pickup.

The possibility of taking a hot shower and sleep just 4-5 hrs in a nice bed, instead of staying at the airport is absolutely priceless.

I recommend this place to anyone in need of a location to have a nice layover.

We had an overnight in NY coming from a European trip. The hotel was clean and close to the airport. They provide a free shuttle to/from the airport. There is a restaurant onsite. The food was a bit overpriced, but maybe comparable to the restaurants in the area. Would stay here again if I had another long layover.

Really helpful staff here; I bookended a trip with a night here; I was allocated a room for my first stay very close to the road and couldn't sleep; the helpful staff relocated me to a quieter room. For my return visit, the shuttle bus to the airport had left before it was supposed to, and Kelsey just sorted it out and got us on our way. Great staff; thank you so much.

Very good hotel for the money and very close to JFK. The only hiccup was the wait for the shuttle pickup from JFK. Waited 50 minutes for the shuttle pickup after numerous calls. There were several guests waiting as well - approximately 14 guests. Hopefully, it was an isolated incident. Once we arrived at the hotel, the property was superb.
