Absolute dump! Looks like a place you would rent by the hour.

The Long Island Railroad runs right behind so you get to listen to that all night. You’re met by a front desk clerk who appears to be standing behind bullet-proof glass. When you walk down the hall to your room, it’s dark & dingy and strongly reeks of marijuana. There’s music blaring from one of the rooms. When you enter your room, it’s as dingy as the hall and the bed linens are suspect. I would NOT want to see what shows up on them under a black light.

Since they refused to give me a refund (because I already checked in) and I couldn’t afford to take the loss by booking somewhere else, I was stuck there. I slept on top of the bed cover and hoped I survived the next two nights.

I’ve been a long time user of Hotels.com and this place was rated Very Good when I booked it. This experience has me questioning whether I can trust booking anything else through them.

The only good thing that I can say about this property is that the front desk staff was very nice and had good customer service and hospitality skills. However, the rest of the hotel was terrible. As soon as you walk in your hit with a smell of something between cigarettes weed and chemicals. The property looks nothing like the photos they advertise. Yes it does look recently updated but not professionally more like someone’s Uncle also is a handyman and needed a side job. The rooms are small very dusty very outdated. The center light between the beds had no lampshade there was an inch of dust on the headboard. The toilet paper was left from the previous guest and probably the worst thing were the pillows. They did not look clean at all. The pillowcases were old stained and almost looked gray, but they were once white.On top of that they were extremely thin and uncomfortable. No part of the room or the lobby looked clean or sanitary extremely disappointed not worth the money. Do not waste your time or your money at this property..

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The staff was completely unhelpful and the room was completely disgusting. I booked a two day stay and the first night was so awful and couldn’t stay the second night. I went to the front desk lady asking her for help she went ahead to tell me the hotel will not cancel our other night since we had not booked through them we would have to do that through Expedia. The bathroom was gross not cleaned the toilet they provided was filled with human hair as if it was not washed , when my was saw this she was literally crying and it became even more unbearable. We booked a non smoking room because neither one of us smoked and we got a rooked that was filled with smoke, also as a safety hazard the smoke doctor in our room was covered up with. Plastic bag. Through out the night we could not sleep they had very aggressive and very loud guess that would scream and shout all night until about 5 am, they continued to go through the emergency door by the back of the hotel to get to there cars while the door keep slamming. Not once did the emergency door alarm went off that means the alarm was either disabled or was never working to begin with.our sheets we were thing and was never washed you could tell because of how stiff and hard they were out blanket that was on top smelled gross.I would never stay at this hotel again or recommend. I call Expedia and got help from the rep who refused to give name or ID # only offered $25 GC then hung up

The Worst Hotel Experience of My Life

I have stayed in hotels all over the country, and without question, Casa Azul in Jamaica, Queens was the worst hotel experience I have ever had in my entire life.

From the moment I entered the room, I felt like I had made a terrible mistake. The condition of the room was beyond unacceptable. I personally saw roaches and bed bugs during my stay. The mattress had blood stains on it, and the bedding contained semen stains and numerous cigarette burn marks. Instead of feeling like a place where guests could rest, the room felt dirty, neglected, and unsanitary. I was genuinely disgusted by what I found.

What made the experience even worse was the constant concern for my safety. I witnessed individuals attempting to break into vehicles in the parking area, including activity around my own vehicle. Rather than sleeping peacefully, I found myself repeatedly checking on my car and worrying about whether my belongings would still be there in the morning.

The atmosphere around the property was unlike anything I have ever experienced at a hotel. Throughout the night there was a constant flow of people coming and going. I personally witnessed prostitution-related activity taking place on the property. The combination of the traffic, noise, suspicious activity, and complete lack of any sense of security created an environment that felt chaotic and unsafe.

What should have been a simple overnight stay turned into a nightmare. Between the bed bugs,

Worst experience of my life. Won’t recommend if you are travelling with kids. You just feel people are just smoking everywhere as soon as you enter the hotel. Bad smell of smoke, no consideration if you want to cancel your stay. Terrible staff, no cleanliness. Don’t choose this hotel if you are travelling with the family. Washrooms low quality. Shower all rusted and exhaust fan makes the loudest and creepiest noise EVER. Door is broken and when we wanted a refund, they said no because 24 h are already done even if only 4 were. You will keep hearing noises from other rooms, LIR train. Won’t recommend to anyone.

This hotel is horrible. You walk in and the lobby looks ok and that is where the good ends. The staff is rude. The rooms are disgusting and smell like stale cigarettes. There are burn marks on the mattresses and blankets. The shower was filthy, the ac barely worked, the towels were all stained so we didn't even use the shower. The walls had stuff splattered on them and were filthy. There were people up and down the hallways at all hours of the night and were extremely loud even though the hotel claims to have \"soundproofed rooms\". Worst hotel I've ever stayed at.

Location and price were the factor after missing a flight from JFK. Arrived well before 3pm check-in but no means to store luggage. Town reminds me of those midwest, southern towns slowly dying out.
Property is pretty used, and allows in-room smoking on the 2nd floor.
Colors throughout are on the dark side - without bright lighting it feels gloomy.

Nothing unique. The woman working morning shift.....I felt she was rude to customers that had an issue with their rooms. Not only rude but called the police on 2 different customers instead of trying to resolve their issues professionally. I don't think she should have any dealing with public. The night shift male was respectful, attentive and professional. My issue was the room I stayed in ....the door needs to be fixed....you have to use your shoulder to push door open and slam shut. Cleaning entered my room when I was absent and didn't shut my door back. When I arrived back to my room...door not properly closed. I explained to both night and morning front desk clerks that I do not want no one in my room for the rest of my stay. 30 mins later...cleaning staff attempted to enter my room. I feel as though the woman clerk at front desk needs to be reassigned a different position than dealing with public. Room doors needs to be fixed. Other than those two issues....my stay was okay. Again I'm very dissatisfied with your morning clerk. SHE VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. She needs to dealt with IMMEDIATELY

I was very disappointed to see how deteriorated the rooms were after a year. I stay at this hotel a year ago and was very happy so this year I rebooked. The room looked and smelled dirty, the night stand bulb had no cover and was just exposed. The bed sheet had holes in it. The towels were dirty and stained. I had to call front desk every time I had to turn the TV on. House keeping came and bang on the TV and jiggle the wires at the back to get it working. The hotel is very poorly maintained and I will never stay there again.

The worst hotel I ever stayed at. The toilet leaked, the sink was stopped up, and the sheets were dirty. Outside the room sat a overflowed trash can that reeked. We complained to the front desk staff, and she was rude, and disrespectful. She stated the issue would be corrected. When we return the sink and toilet still was not working properly. We asked for a refund and she stated she couldn’t help us, so we stated we would be leaving. She checked us out and but would not record that we were not satisfied. There were others unhappy and the police were called., and only then did we receive the email to complain. I would not recommend, and definitely will not return. I have every plan on calling the health department with this complaint and pictures.

My recent trip to NY for an overnight trip to visit my sister's and celebrate my mom for Mother's Day and her birthday was met with a hotel disaster. I made reservation for a one night stay at Casa Azul. Unfortunately, due to unacceptable room conditions that made the room unsuitable for occupancy.
Upon arrival, I discovered significant issues in the room, including mold concerns and a strong smoke odor despite the expectation of a clean and habitable environment. The conditions were unhealthy and inconsistent with what was represented at the time of booking.
Because of these conditions, my mother and I were unable to stay at the property and had to find somewhere with better suitable accommodations and a feeling of safety. Although my cancellation occurred after the standard cancellation deadline, the circumstances involved health and safety concerns rather than a simple change of plans. Under New York consumer protection standards, guests are entitled to accommodations that are reasonably safe, sanitary, and as described.

At first glance the hotel looked cleaned and maintained once the check-in process was completed the strong smell of cigarette and marijuana clouded the hallways. The smell of smoke was insufferable in the room. We had to request new bedding as the comforter had cigarette burns and the sheet was torn. The staff bought us another that had the same issues. The pillow cases looked dirty and dingy and the pillows flat. We were awoken at 6 am by someone having a conversation right outside our room door and was screaming at the top of his lungs this went on for hours and no staff came to intervene. When we were leaving for check out the man was charging his phone right outside our room door; not sure why since our room had multiple places to charge your phone. 0/10 experience.

This establishment is advertised as a \"Hotel\" on your platform, when in fact it is a \"Motel\". We were scared! The strong smell of weed was always in the air. At 2am a man was banging at doors cursing, looking for someone named \"Arianna\". When he did find the woman, there was cursing of all types of profanities. This went on for more than half an hour. There were people having sex loudly at all intervals throughout the night. People were in and out, with doors banging closed, speaking/cursing all night. Around 4:30am a man was sloshing a large mop cleaning the floors. The bucket rattling through the halls. What hotel cable ties the iron to the ironing board!!?? I have pictures and video. We were forced to check out the next morning. The person at the front desk never apologized for all that went on after she was informed. She said the person that was banging on the doors was drunk, and he was checking out that day. He was NOT a guest there. He was going door to door looking for \"Arianna\". It is not safe there and Expedia is putting lives in danger having this location on their platform. I intend to go to whatever company or agency to get my refund and make others aware of the dangers of this motel.

The bed spread had burn holes everywhere, the bathroom was filthy and the pillows were like pancakes. To add insult to injury, I was awoken at 3:30am by a man banging on the door for nearly 20 minutes screaming, I called the desk and there was no answer; the man started banging on the door again and again I called the desk and this time someone picked up, when I asked why is there a stranger banging down the door, the response was “he’s drunk and looking for the women that stood there yesterday” needless to say I had a crappy night at this dump. This place needs to be closed down.

Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The bed sheets have multiple holes. The bathroom door knob was falling off. The bathroom faucet handle was loose. The toilet bowl lift off the floor with every use. The towels was very very old and had what look like bodily stains. Our room door did not close properly you can see people feet walking around. The whole hotel smelled of marijuana with loud music and people walking around all night. The microwave that was outside the rooms in the lobby was very very old with the numbers erased . Refrigerator door in room was broken. Even the iron and ironing board were broken and leaked. There are so much more wrong with this hotel. I’m not sure how they pass inspection.

Don’t book at this hotel. I’m not a type of person who likes writing reviews, but this was a must. I don’t want people to have a bad experience, the same way I did. First, this place is like a scam, its not described as it was on the internet. The place is disgusting, the room and bathroom overall is very dirty, smelly (most likely weed). I literally breathe during my stays, I booked it from Saturday to Monday, cause I needed to attend a concert at the UBS Arena, and this hotel was the closest. I don’t recommend anyone booking their stays there. Besides of the dirtiness, you hear people arguing strongly and slamming things. It’s not safe to anyone, especially if you bring kids. The environment is not it. If I can rate this hotel to zero, I would. Bad experience overall.

I would give zero stars if I could. The front desk person was extremely rude and unprofessional.
When we arrived, we weren't even allowed to check in or wait-he told us we had to leave the premises because it wasn't yet the 3 p.m. check-in time. We politely asked about the possibility of an early check-in, but he was completely unwilling to help and had a very dismissive attitude.
There was no effort to accommodate us, offer alternatives, or even speak respectfully. This was by far the worst service I've ever experienced at a hotel. Customer service like this is unacceptable, and it completely ruined our experience in this hotel and area. I would not recommend staying here. I felt unsafe with the hostile attitude and behavior and ended up canceling our stay and looked for another hotel.

My husband I and our daughter booked this hotel online to go see the NY Islanders the weekend of April 11th and 12th We chose this hotel due to it being close to the arena and stating online it’s a 13 minute walk. Upon arriving to the hotel it looks nothing like the pictures and it is not really safe to walk to the arena unless you want to cross highways, etc. Upon arriving, the clerk at the desk would not even acknowledge us. She was on a facetime or a phone call on speaker because she continued her conversation with this person the entire time. I said we are checking in. The response I got was ID. Then waiting for minutes while she continued her conversation. Then asked you have a car – fill this out this card. Then hands us a room key with the number. The entire time she is in a full blown conversation. Upon entering the room, the smell of cigarette smoke was terrible. We booked a non smoking room but you can tell that the smoke smell was embedded in the room. It was so bad we knew there was no way we could stay 2 nights. My husband went to front desk to ask if we could cancel the room for Sunday night. We were denied any refund. After going to dinner there a male clerk sprayed the room for us but it did nothing. We got up the next day and left as soon as we could drove home 3 hours after the night game and took showers as the smell was in our hair, etc. The next day I had to wash everything in the suitcases and air them out!

\"I was disappointed with the service during my stay. Upon check-in, the front desk staff remained on a personal phone call and didn’t offer a simple greeting or 'hello.' The lack of professionalism continued at checkout; when I returned my keys, I wasn't acknowledged at all—no 'goodbye' or 'thank you.' The staff seemed more interested in their phones than the guests. Better customer service is definitely needed.\"

Noisie at night. Hotel smells like pot and cigarettes.We only stayed 1 night and went to a different hotel.

This hotel surprised us as it was clean and staff was great. Room and bed were excellent. There was continuous noise thru out the night and the area was pretty sketchy. Parking worked out great
