Our room was junior suite frontal sea view, was so perfect except we didn’t had a bath towel when we get in the room but we asked and given..and dirty bedsheets from previous occupants as left in our wardrobe and not taken away until we checked out at our last day,staff was so polite and kind..pool didn’t manage to swim as weather on and off..

We did not like our stay at all.

This place is soooooo....huge lots of people lots of noise. The buffet is lign up for everything.
If you don't like big crowds stay away from this place.
Even the pools are crowded. The only time wecwere in a relaxed
enviruonment was in our room or outside of the complex.
Also their AC are so filthy peoplecate breathing this terrible air

This hotel is Very crowded . The main lagoon swimming pool is too busy. Sunbeds are laid out, but you have to fight for space around the pool to place extra sunbeds. Most people give up and head to the beach over the road. For singles and couples looking for a quiet relaxing stay, I wouldn’t recommend. The rooms are great, but annoyingly the Safes in room are an optional extra.

Big modern hotel. Seemed very busy by pools and in buffet restaurant. Room had terrible view over reception roof. Only had breakfast in hotel. Plenty of choice but poor in quality (so called English sausages, bacon disgusting). Room clean and staff friendly.

The entire property and grounds were always spotless and staff very friendly and helpful they went above and beyond to make our stay memorable.. they accommodated my allergy (Coeliac-Gluten Free) excellently and always prepared my meal separately with multiple choice options - our family including our grandchildren loved every minute and we will be visiting again..

Overcrowded resort,had breakfast deal first and upgraded to halfboard but regretted ,only one restaurant running and serving food,staff tryingso hard to keep up but impossible,waiting in the line up to get table takes for along time,we felt like world war 2 food line ups,unreal,people were fighting for food,also,if you coming with little ones for fun it may be good for you to enjoy,but,if you are coming as adults for relaxing and restful vacation time by beach and pool,this may not be for you,too noisy upgraded room to family room,it was worth it,but,resort condition was very clean,well maintained, location was great,hotel staff were very friendly.

J’ai adoré l’emplacement près de la plage et de la ligne de métro. Par contre lit très dure. La nourriture laisse a désirer mais beau bar a salade. La nourriture est trop cuite et manque de goût. Disons que je pourrais comparer ça a la nourriture de cuba. Le soir le café n est pas inclus dans le souper donc nous sommes aller en acheter juste en face de l’hôtel il y a une épicerie carrefour. Beaucoup de restaurants et bar autour de l’hôtel. Le prix du stationnement pour la location d une voiture est d environ 14 euros ce que je trouve exagéré par contre on peut stationner dans les rues avoisinantes. Belle piscine et pour la plage aucune chaises n est incluse alors on doit les louer a 6 euros chacune.

Worst hotel in a long time, dirty, my wife saw blood stain on one of the pillows, bad rooms design, very cheap furniture, floors with big gaps probably due to water problems and our mattress was good for the scrap yard,. There was a bad smell in the room. On the pictures, they show the big towers, but they will stick you near the pool area which it is really cheesy and bad. I recommend to go anywhere else nearby and it is better. They charge you for parking which is fine but you have to pay every time you go out and back in. Wifi is useless, forget about Netflix or any streaming. Very noisy too. We just left very early the next morning to end this bad experience. Only positive in the whole experience, we had flip flops so we didn’t have to walk barefoot on the dirty floors.

Although this is stated to be a 4 star hotel, I personally felt it was more of a 3 star.

My check in went smoothly & I felt very welcomed by the lady on reception however upon seeing the room, it didnt feel as luxurious as I expected.
Sun beds & parasols seem to be hard to come by unless you queue up at 8:30am & reserve a lounger.
On a couple of occasions, I received a lot of attitude from individual cleaning staff from what seemed to stem from the language barrier & them not understanding me. Either way, I felt the responses were inappropriate, unreasonable & unprofessional for the circumstances.
There was a lot of confusion over the hotel policies regarding ladies topless bathing. On my first full day, out of courtesy, I asked 3 members of staff what the policy on this was & received 3 different replies. Due to the inclination of those staff members, it seemed it was more likely frowned upon than accepted so I refrained (on what was the best day of sunshine for my stay).....only to later watch a local bathe topless & not one member of staff opposing this. As it was nearing the end of the day, I didnt say anything but chose to clarify this with Reception the following morning. Here, it was clarified that ladies can bathe topless - I wasn't very happy that this had impacted my holiday.
There was also conflicting advice given by 2 members of staff regarding the price of adding on an evening meal - At check in, i was advised it would be 16Euros but later told it was 23E.

Lots of bars, restaurants and shopping more local to the hotel as well. Great to have an option of a more relaxed pool which I preferred. Only thing is at busier times it would be more helpful to have more staff on at the reception.

Family and Childen Hotel NO Adults Only Area

We came here twice last year April and September, the quiet sunbathing area at the front was Adults only which was great as that’s what we wanted. This year I’ve never see so many children and babies in this area, screaming, crying, running in between the beds while you’re trying relax.. and then the food area again full off families. There’s just no quiet area for Adults to relax and enjoy.

The family rooms are on what seems to be the older side of the hotel and facing the larger pools. It can be noisy at night with the pool noise.
The rooms are clean. The beds are super firm which is not my preference. Overall, it was a good two night stay for my family as we stayed in Spain an extra two days after our son completed soccer training.

Nice location by the beach, how ever this place operates with cattle herd mentality and service. Food is very average and supper crowded, they could oppen up more space and set up more food islands but they don't. The line this morning stretched for almost 50m to get into the dining area.
Gym is spacious but verry poorly equipped, its a joke.
They would not give me a minute late check out! very inflexible.

Rocio at the front desk was very welcoming and all the staff in general were happy to say hello! As a solo traveller, I felt very safe the entire duration of my stay. Loved that it was right by the beach for morning runs and lots of restaurant options nearby! Half board option was perfect for my stay and food was repetitive but was good for the most part.

There are many restaurants outside the hotel, if you didn't pay for half of full meals package. There are 3 swimming pools; 2 of them cater for families with children. If you don't fancy swimming in the pools, walk across the road to swim at the sandy beach. You can rent out a reclining chair under an umbrella for some shade for the day from any of cafes/restaurants at the beach. A taxi to the train station, La Colina, is about 10 mins max. At the train station, you can avail of the train service to bring you to Malaga city or to the south as far as Fuengirola. Avail of the hop-on & hop-off bus service that will bring you to various tourists spots. Hotel room needs a bit of up-dating. The lamps attached to the wall at the head end of bed are fixed & badly positioned. If you are in a hurry to get out of the bed at night, you run the risk of banging your head against the lamps. The double bed for a couple is essentially 2 single beds positioned side by side & blankets are tugged in, on each bed!

Lots of pool areas to relax by, although the outdoor pools were closed for swimming (being out of season) it was possible to lounge beside them. I’d recommend bringing a multi-charger or getting an extension cable as there were few plug points in the room!

Very OUTDATED , The bed is not comfy at all , the bath room smell really badly and the air conditioning doesn’t even work ,I can see there are lot of leaks from the ceiling in the lobby area, where they kept buckets and some cloths . Definitely need PROPER REFURBISHMENT. Disappointed with the food too. Could be better for the price they charged for the half board .

We had a lovely 10 days at this hotel the food was excellent plenty of variety to choose from. The room was cleaned every day but we did find that the floor was not always swept clean. But clean towels were always available. All staff here were very helpful. The entertainment was excellent. We would definitely return to here again.

Worst hotel I've ever visited

...and I've been to my fair share of bad hotels! But this one takes the biscuit. It's currently 11.59pm and the person next door is having a shower. In normal circumstances, this would be perfectly acceptable, apart from when said shower sounds like it's YOUR shower in YOUR room. And the bed? A three quarter bed. Not quite as small as a single, but definitely not as big as a double. Two people in this teeny bed, with its sharp springs stabbing your ribs, is enough to drive you potty when it's as hot as it is in this god-awful, basic room.

Speaking of heat, it's worth mentioning that from September to June, the hotel enforces a 'heating only' policy. That's right. No air conditioning in April and definitely not in May. So, after a hot day, when all you desire is cool, refreshing air in your sticky bedroom, you will absolutely NOT get anything of the sort. And even better, the hotel don't offer a fan to their guests upon request. There are no fans in the WHOLE hotel. Superb. To add, Hotels.com state that the hotel has air con available all year round. This is a bare faced lie.

Overall excellent. However i am a vegetarian and paid for half board. The breakfast was excellent but the dinner menu had very limited choice for the protein option. There were vegetables and salad choices in abundance but for protein only cheese and chick peas at every meal. Meat eaters had a wide choice. This is usual for spanish hotels. In the uk currently 1 in 5 people are either vegetarian or vegan but we are not yet adequately catered for in Spain.

Hotel has everything you need if you have young children. Ours loved the pool and were very happy with the buffet food.

My only suggestion please would be that real coffee should be an option at breakfast pls (happy to pay extra at purchase of course). I would also maintain a supply of drinking water at lunch and dinner as was a bit much having to pay for bottles.

Hotel opposite a great section of beach and public transport links to Malaga and Mijas are near by. This is a great location for a wonderful family break.

We particularly loved our Family Sea View room- we saw a number of beautiful sun rises/ moon rises from the balcony.

Modern family rooms with lagoon pool view

Very nice size modern family room, with separate sofabard and main bed areas. Cleaning needed to be better to sweep dust, sand etc. from the floors.
We stayed half-board. Buffet selection did vary, but also became too restrictive for us, so glad to eat out around some of the places in the vicinity.
Was impressed by the accessibility of the hotel. Saw many guests with mobility impairments that were enjoying their holiday here.

Fantastic spot on the beach.

The room we were given was very cramped with the addition of a camp bed which left vey little room to navigate round the beds. I asked for a room on the top floor and was given the 6th floor but did provide good side views over the beach. The hotel itself is very clean. The dining room is very noisy and extremely busy with a good selection on offer although the meat is either overdone or undercooked. We found the pool at the beach side of the hotel was quieter than the lagoon pool although did have to have the towels out early to reserve sun beds. Although we enjoyed our week here we would not return to this hotel.

Lovely family holiday

Just back from a 5 night half board stay as a family of 2 adults & 2 children.
This is my second stay at Sol Principe and it didnt disappoint. Our family suite was spacious clean and functional with a panoramic view of the lagoon pool.
Breakfast had a huge variety and i loved the themed dinner nights.. loved the seafood night (sushi for first time�)
Entertainment was fabulous with a variety of acts and shows including The Lion king show which my son was able to take part in as part of the kids club which he thoroughly enjoyed.. there are 2 kid club sessions a day which was great for getting him out of sun and playing with other children.
Hotel is extremely family friendly and is also wheelchair/buggy accessible throughout.
Directly across from beach and a few mins walk to town.
Staff all friendly and helpful. Especially lovely Isabel (duty manager) who is always on hand.
