I loved the place, but do not take the exit Torremolinos take exit Los Alamos to go to the Hotel, no much good restaurants around unless you’re going to Malaga to eat lunch or dinner, best Breakfast Buffet ever, and I fell in love with those coffee machines: loved the coffee in a few words … you’ll love it!

From the moment we arrived we were greeted to the afternoon we left we received excellent friendly service especially from Jose and Juan on reception. They made sure our stay was great. Good choice felt breakfast. Direct access to the promenade and beach.

We didnt have a beach view balcony, but that didnt take anything away. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean. The food was wonderful and plentiful.
There was entertainment laid on as well.
We joined in with the aqua aerobics which was fun. The entertainment staff have so much energy.

Biggest minus: food - rather boring, repetitive and feels like defrosted (not self-made). Spain is not a buffet/all-inclusive country.
Bonus: Very good massage service, one of the best I have had in the hotel.

The staff were absolutely fantastic – friendly, helpful, and always welcoming. The rooms were spotless, with very comfortable beds that made for a great night’s sleep. The hotel offers plenty of activities to keep you entertained throughout your stay. The all-inclusive bar was excellent, with a wide selection and top-quality alcohol brands (not the cheap stuff!). Overall, a wonderful experience – highly recommended!

just to confirm, the property doesn’t really look like it does in the images. the “premium” rooms are like a uk travel lodge. we paid for the premium rooms and turned up and they’re like butlins blocks.

rooms were not very well kept.

i went with my 3 year old son and it cost 2300 for a week, when arrived they told us it was only breakfast included and we needed to pay for food as our 2300 premium package was breakfast only and not all inclusive.

the kids waterpark had a slide that was blocked off and broken for the full week

the room had plenty of things broken in it, no iron, no kettle or tea/coffee facilities.

the crazy golf is totally wrecked, holes in the concrete literally the size of footballs

breakfast is the same each day, nothing changes

it certainly doesn’t look like the images so keep this in mind

the reception is nice and clean, that’s about it

Overall a wonderful vacation destination. As long as your WHITE. have a minimum of 3 out of control KIDS under 5yrs old and aren't afraid of being cooked like a lobster if you want to take a shower.

Lovely hotel.
Quiet location.
Planes/airport didn't bother us.
Food was average, lack of fresh cooked vegetables, it was either greasy or fried veg. Meat cuts were poor quality.
Restaurant staff were lovely and attentive.
There were regularly empty cups around the pool.
The worst thing for us was the unhelpful staff at front desk. They put us in a tiny room (2 ad, 2 ch). There was a sofabed behind the door, no room for cases, the air con didnt work and the tv was in the walkway to the bathroom, this was in the village area. I went to reception and they argued with me that there were no rooms available but I searched their own website for the length of our stay and there were at least 4 rooms available, I'd even said I would pay to upgrade. They said check out of that room in the morning and they'd put us in the hotel block. So thats what we did, at 11am they told us to come back at 2pm to collect new room key. I went back at 2pm and they said they were moving us to the same size room but on level 2 so it has a balcony. This was not what was agreed. They said there was no space in the hotel block and that the hotel was fully booked. I showed them their website and showed them the picture of the room I booked, and then they finally agreed to move us to the hotel blocks, so they weren't full. I don't understand what the issue was to be honest.
Asked for a late check out on 4 separate occasions, for our request to be rejected at 9.30am on departure day. Disappointing.

Booked for mum (67), sister (40) and nephew (16) and all three had an amazing time!

The location was perfect, with the beach quite literally across the road and plenty to do nearby. The hotel itself was exactly as shown in the pictures and absolutely immaculate! They were breakfast only but found hotel prices very fair.

Now, mother is a notorious snob so booking anything for her is a dangerous game. She also hates walking anywhere. So imagine my surprise when I didnt hear a peep out of her! She adored the hotel, loved all of the local restaurants they tried, thought the distance to everything was great and was overjoyed with the shops and the harbour. Almost alerted the media.

They're planning to rebook asap. So that's fun for me.

We booked the location based on the photos displayed. Our room was ‘upgraded’ but did not look at all like the photos on the website. Our TV in our bedroom wasn’t working, although we did not contact reception to correct as we did not need to use it and had a TV in the entry area. The beds were very comfortable and the staff we spoke with were lovely. We were on the ground/garden floor and had some very strange and loud noises whenever someone ran the shower or used the toilet. Location was great, unfortunately a bit dated, and the photos should be updated to reflect the current state of the rooms.

Giant waste of time, over promising, under deliver

Over promised and under delivered in a big way. Spent almost $300 to stay one night at this hotel was told check-in is around two. We’re not able to check in till after four and apparently there were field trips of bus loads of children in the age range of 10 to 13 that we were not told We’re staying I believe the total could’ve been hundreds, but several times during our stay we were woken up by classrooms full of kids gathering in the hallways we spoke to the manager Juan, Antonio and he assured us they would be we’d be entitled to some compensation after spending extensive time applying and citing our grievances. We were actually denied any compensation for our inconvenience at this hotel, which further aggravated us after dealing with the inconveniences of the hotel wasting time seeking compensation was pointless. Seems like they have “loss mitigation system” in which they tell guests with genuine grievances to go through several lengthy processes, which ultimately lead to their frustration and just giving up on any compensation that’s my opinion On the matter. I would never stay at this hotel ever again, and I would never recommend it to any family. It’s already stressful enough staying in a foreign country with a small child then to be put through the runaround by the management. Not to mention when we finally did get to check in at four our keys didn’t work for the door, which resulted in going all the way back to the front desk and dealing with that Situation,horrible

The pool area and reception spotlessly clean.
Be aware this is a very large complex so reception area (the only indoor area to relax after dinnner) did feel like grand central station with lots checking in and checking out. Not enough places to sit.

The hotel facilitates conferences and events so can be noisy and very busy. I felt there were just too many people for the facility space they had. The pool area at the front was full all day and people queued at the restaurant in the evening. This surprised me as we were low season outside of holidays yet in April the place was packed with kids.

Not a problem for a family hotel but I feel Barcelo marketed their hotel on their website as a relaxed environment, a place to kick back in. Be aware this is not the case. It was chaos most of the time at the pool. We all like to have fun but as two friends travelling without children it didn’t make for the holiday we thought we would get.

That’s not the reason for just 4 stars. You drink out of plastic at the pool-this is understandable but I don’t want to drink out of scratched plastic in the restaurant.

We paid for the balanese beds at the pool whilst other people didn’t.

That’s the grumble done, positives the staff are genuinely friendly and attentive.

My junior suite was huge and kept spotless by housekeeping.
The grounds are well kept and it right opposite the beach.

You are at one of the furthest points to central Torremilinos but we walked and used taxis.

My room while very comfortable with lovely balcony and sea view was very small.
The food was excellent and the staff fantastic.
Between 9pm and 11.30pm every night was a very loud hotel party on the stage just below my room. They are supposed to finish at 11pm but often go overtime.
While they are providing excellent entertainment for guests it is just some small annoyance if you want a quiet night.
The shower was great. Tv was great.

What a lovely hotel! We had an All Inclusive package and it was great. The food was probably the best I’ve ever had in an all inclusive - really varied and plentiful. There was a really good range of drinks included too, all branded spirits and good cocktails. The staff were lovely and the hotel was impeccably clean and well-maintained.

This was my second time staying at Occidental Torremolinos Playa, and it was just as amazing as the first! The hotel is modern, clean, and ideally located right by the beach.
The food was varied and delicious, with something for everyone. I loved the pool area—relaxing and well-maintained, It’s the perfect place for a sunny, stress-free holiday.

Cons: Same restaurant for all inclusive. Although, the kitchen did an excellent job, the food started to taste the same. Would have liked the coffee pods to be renewed each morning. Would have liked the sheets changed every third day.

The nightly entertainment is loud enough to be quite disturbing in most rooms, which would benefit from some form of sound reduction. Otherwise my stay was relatively pleasant. The breakfast buffet was quite good, but lunch/dinner really weren't worth it. More a menu based or la carte dining options on the property would be helpful.

Hotel was clean, we had B&B which was excellent, non ‘all inclusive’ prices were as you’d expect. Cleaning and maid excellent, reception excellent. But, don’t bover with a room with a balcony. We paid extra for this as we had to get a Superior room, which probably wasn’t worth the money. As for the Baclcony the table and 2 chairs didn’t fit on it let alone 2 people as well. Totally misleading description and I feel we were misled and over charged.

I stayed in a suite and it was fantastic. The breakfast buffet was impressive (though crowded) and the grounds were enormous and seem like a dream come true for a family with children, with two huge swimmings pools, a water park, putt putt and more. The location across the street from a huge beach and many shops and restaurants is also ideal.

Cons: pool not heated, extra costs , towels to get fresh ones €2 each time, saftey box €2.50 per day, sun loungers at beach €7, check in very poor arrived at midnight bar just closed was given 2 warm bottles of water was not shown to room just given map, room was hot took while for air on to kick in, charger point not working in room, Wii Fi hit and miss, used 4g most of the time, entertainment shocking absolutely awful every night kid entertainment few songs from 21:30 then adults at 10pm (adult entertainment was worse I’ve ever seen very very amiture, restaurant in prestigious part food cold, staff miserable, lazy, location very limited near by shops and only 2 restaurants (outside hotel) bus never came to go torromolinous town or Malaga but taxis around €11 easy to get taxis

If you are going for a beach holiday or sit round pool and just to relax, and only relax this hotel is nice but if u want entertainment or local shops restaurants then no good

On arrival check in was good, we were then able to get into our sea view superior room. The room was spacious but there wasn’t really a balcony as the table and stacked chairs took all of the space, would suggest that the table is removed so that at least one person can sit out there. Shower was ok only one evening without due to a drainage issue. The beds in the main pool area to the front of the hotel tend to go by 10.30 but we always found a bed before this time. My main issue was the food, we stayed HB we had breakfast but everything hot is covered in oil of course there were continental options so all in all was ok. Dinner was different we ended up eating out 5 nights of the seven we stayed the food wasn’t nice at all. The entertainment well was really the kids disco that starts at 9pm for an hour and then low key after that. We were offered to upgrade to All Inclusive for €70 euros per couple per day but we didn’t want the lunch there is a lovely shop just before the hotel has everything you need. The hotel could do with an overhaul the reception areas are ok but from there it is looking quite tired. The hotel is roughly 40min walk into Torremolinos town but there is a bus stop outside the hotel but we found it quicker to walk in rather than wait for the bus. In summary ok, but would say from experience of staying in many hotels in Spain that this is not a 4* more a 3*

Had an amazing staying at Occidental Torremolinos Playa. Great ambience, lovely staff, good variety of food, very clean everywhere and a pretty hotel all round. My sea view room was just perfect and the entertainment in the evenings was fun.
Walkable, with easy and quick access to buses and trains made getting around effortless. I would definitely stay here again.

Lovely hotel, fast check in, excellent breakfast, very clean, beautiful pool area, convenient location for the beach and restaurants . Unfortunately the sofa bed in the premium family room was uncomfortable, towels were old. Disappointing pool accommodation, never enough loungers for hotel guests at the pool, the grassy areas catered for the over flow but these loungers were dirty and shabby. For the price of the hotel rooms, these facilities should have been better.

The worst experience we ever had within a summer beach hotel ! the room we’ve got for 3,000 € / 8 days was located in the farthest corner of the facilities.
the room was very small. The one chair we had in the room we needed to put it in the bathroom just to be able pass from the entrance forward.
the “balcony” is exactly 90 cm long and 65 cm wide. Ridiculous ! It was no way to dry our swimming dress, not to speak about drying two beach towels.
at arrival, we did not find even a glass with water available in that room. Nothing.
the AC was week. The average temp in the room was 27*C. During the nights we had to open the “balcony” door to cool inside.
the tap water at the sink was very low debit.
the pillows were good for torture, but not to sleep on. Terrible.
the wi-fi internet is garbage. Hard to send a picture through.
we’ve got free towels for beach use. But we’ve been told that if we need them washed or replaced, we have to pay. Trying to put our valuable in the safe located in our room’s wardrobe, safe was not locking. When I checked that with Reception, they gloriously announced me that I could only be allowed to use the safe if I pay a 20 € tax. So, for 3,000 €, I only rented the room, but not the safe located inside the room. I asked them if I am allowed to use the little empty fridge found in my room or that would bring more taxes?!? Ridiculous. This hotel is only orientated to their profit.

Lovely hotel, and great location right on the beach. It is an all inclusive resort for most guests there, but not bookings from Hotels.com. The buffet is OK, but not great. The pools are nice, but close between seven and eight at night. Close to the airport, which is convenient.

Staff are very rude. Upon arrival and check in the staff greeted us with \"what do u want\". The employees never smile they need a crash course on emotional contagion. The property is below average!!!! There is only 1 restaurant that u can eat at if u r half board. U have to pay for the safe in the room every day which is so cheap!!! U have to pay to replace ur beach towels, again unheard of. They put us in a room next to the restaurant and we could smell fish from the vents. Then when we complained they said they would move us to another room and asked us to prep our bags to check out and move to the other room. Then the staff came back and said sorry the other ppl are getting a late check out they are important people so wait for our call. If u have ever visited the resorts in south america this resort would not be a good option. Not worth the thounsands paid and we went with another family and got 3 rooms which was very expensive.

The entertainment was good for kids the
Food in the buffet was good sometimes
and not so good other times. Disappointing experience.

We stayed for 3 nights at the Occidental Torremolinos Playa building 3, in a double room without sea view. Overall, I thought it was a 3-star hotel, with a good breakfast and dinner option. The air conditioning didn't work during any day. Even though 2 technicians were there to fix it, the air conditioning didn't cool down, it was just a fan. The breakfast has good options and on one of the days I also paid separately for dinner, which I thought was also worth it. The room I stayed in was very large and had a view of the street and pool. The part where I stayed was very silent. It was a little difficult to find the reception, and the hotel has a parking lot, but as the hotel is very large, spaces soon run out and we have to leave the car on the side streets. Safe place and nothing happened to the vehicle.

The hotel in general was OK, but the service and food was terrible. We had an issue with our A/C and called for two days without them sending anyone and when we complained the claimed that they have no record. Then they said our do not disturb sign was up but we got house keeping which does not make sense.

Food quality is very subpar. Although they are not a cheap hotel they nickel and dime you. They charge a daily fee to use the in room safe and charge you to get clean pool towels. You are charging almost $500.00 a night for a room, you would think you would not charge for clean towels and a safe.

Great family resort with really great service

Great hotel for a stay with small children. Staff is incredibly helpful and nice. Location is great. However, the food is not good. It's a shame as apart from that it was a great family holiday.
Half board is the way to go and you can eat in the restaurants in the beach nearby.

We liked it because it is very good for children. Breakfast is excellent. Pools are great too eventhough too cold.
What we didn t like: you need to book your sun beds near the pool early, otherwise no space.
Insects and spiders in the rooms. No ice or hot water and coffee machine in the room.
You need to pay extra for the safebox. At least they should inform us upon check in so we added it to our requests. No tissue box also in the room.
You can hear the rooms next to you, no sound proof.

We rented a suite for our honeymoon. There were no lights or tv in the living room. The attendant who helped carry our luggage to the room was told about it and it was never fixed. Upon departure asked the front desk for help with our luggage and was told they do t help with luggage. Told front desk about no lights in the living room abd they did not care about that either.
