We stayed for 7 days at Don Marco in Torremolinos and had a really enjoyable experience. Our room was spacious with a great balcony and an excellent shower. Everything was kept spotless, with daily cleaning from very friendly staff. The food was generally good, although the variety could have been a bit better. The cheesecake, however, was absolutely delicious. One of our favourite parts of the stay was the access to the adults-only pool, which was often quiet enough to feel like our own private space. Overall, the hotel staff were helpful, welcoming, and contributed to a very comfortable stay. I hope we come back again in not so distant future 😎

Whilst this is advertised as an adult hotel it is part of a group of hotels all on the same site. Therefore children at breakfast and around the adult pool was not what we expected. The air con also didn’t work and took several times to contact reception to fix.

On arrival was offered a room which was available as the one that had been allocated would not be ready until 3pm ( normal check-in time. Although this room was at first glance ok I don’t think it was to the same standard as that booked. After a night spent in the room the patio window was misted up with condensation and even the bedclothes felt cold and slightly damp to the touch. As it was a short stay we decided not to ask for another room but on hindsight I think we should have.

Another matter that was not in the hotel advert was that there were major building works being carried out at one of the accommodation blocks, although these did not spoil our stay with two pools closed and the other outside pools too cold to swim it it left us with only the choice of an indoor swim!

Having said all that the sunshine was great.

All was good, except the food. We had very good food option in our travel around Spain, but this hotel’s food isn’t the greatest. Do not buy the all inclusive option. Definitely is not worth it.

We stayed here for 5 nights in July for our birthdays. It was a beautiful resort newly refurbished and great restaurant, conveniently located for shops , bars and old town.
The sixth and seventh star goes to Enrice the customer engagement manager . He was the most lovely , kind and professional person . He made sure our stay was perfect , nothing was too much trouble and he always had the biggest smile 😀 thank you enrique we will be back . Farzana and Caroline

Very nice holiday

Our stay at Don Marcos was great, lovely hotel and location with lots of pool areas to chose from. Room was a good size and very comfortable and generally very quiet. We did come back one day to find our hotel room door had been left wide open by the cleaners, which was a bit alarming! Room does not have any tea/coffee making facilities so take your own if you want this!
I was surprised the hotel did not offer any beach facilities, would be great to extend their service at the beach which is directly opposite.

I did contact the hotel before to advise them it was our anniversary but maybe they didn’t receive my message as nothing special organised. 🙁

Hotel right at the beach

The location is brilliant if you are looking for a beach hotel. However, our check-in with parking took 1 hour since there was only one reception area for at least two hotels (the Sol hotels belong together) and the staff was completeley overwhelmed. The reception area was renovated but the rooms need work. When we entered the room, the AC smelled like a wet dog and there was hair all over the floor.
Breakfast was fine and the hotel takes a lot of care in complying with safety regulations.
For us, this was not a 4 star - experience and we won’t come back.

Huge resort - great for families. We were in what the front desk referred to as the “quiet” part of the resort - which we preferred, but it wasn’t advertised that way. The front desk said we had free minibar items with our room and gave us directions to our room. We got all the way up to the top floor and there was no 3705. Went back downstairs and she apologized but said you can only get there from the other set of elevators. This after a very long flight from the US. The free minibar items were two beers in the fridge. No other items even for purchase. When we asked for ice and coffee to go with the water kettle they said that’s only for tea and you have to ask for ice from the bar. And he looked at us like we were crazy. Not helpful to say the least. Bathrooms and bedroom was was mediocre and bed small but comfortable.

Check-in was easy and room was clean and nicely appointed. Early morning drilling and hammering in Spa being renovated just beneath us made us get up quite early for our \"restful week at the beach\" - not expecting that during Easter week. Breakfast was well done with plenty of choices for everyone. Half-board buffet dinners seemed very much focused on vegetarian dishes and, surprisingly, did not include beverages of any kind. Hotel is situated just across a not-too-busy street from the nice, sandy beach and a restaurant which was very welcoming and offered excellent choices. Drink prices there and at restaurants, cafes and bars along the beach were not too extravagant, especially for a tourist site. Hotel is part of a set of three hotels centered around a number of pools and described as a resort. Restaurants (two) easily accommodated all the diners for their three-times-a-day buffets and the buffet times were generous - didn't rush us to get in or get out. Several bars provided refreshment throughout the resort, one even out on a sea-view terrace. Entertainment was the normal Spanish beach variety, offering a lounge singer in one bar and an entertainment troupe in a bigger bar (Bar Ingles). An evening of \"Rock Music\" seemed 60's/70's oriented, but the dancing was well-rehearsed. A \"Mama Mia\" presentation was well done - better than the following-night's Flamenco troupe. Access to center-ville by elevator provided additional adventure. Nice Easter experience.

Location is great. Right on the front. Entrance and grounds impressive and pool areas really classy and new. The only minor complaint is that the room air conditioning was awful. If it was summer, I’m not sure I wouldn’t have asked to move. But others in our party had the same experience, so maybe it’s something the hotel needs to address?

Loved the renovations to the hotel, this was our third year staying at Marco, and we love it. Loved the changes made to one of the pools too. Only thing I can fault is the WiFi, can never seem to connect to it properly. But otherwise, superb hotel. We will be back again next year!

Booked the Don Marco as we had stayed here previously. Went for bed and breakfast option.

Close to the beach and plenty of shops and restaurants nearby.

Room was noisy as it was near the lifts and every morning we were awoken by the cleaners before 9am. Felt more tired leaving than when we arrived.

Had to have maintenance call to the room on four occasions; three times because the safe deposit box would not open and once because the wardrobe door came off the roller track and got jammed.

Food is no longer served in the Don Marco so we had to go to the Pablo or Pedro for breakfast. Breakfast in the Pablo is chaotic, although better in the Pedro (less chaotic and better layout) there was often a queue for seats to eat inside. Wouldn’t have minded eating breakfast outside if there were more umbrellas.

The room in general was clean, although there were a couple of occasions where we received stained towels.

Staff were very friendly and always helpful.

We got an ocean view room with a nice balcony...had a great time soaking up the pretty views. Rooms had been updated with new bedding, curtains, chair upholstery, etc. and we’re very clean. Bed was very comfortable and large for a double. We had a great time at the hot tub/pools and were allowed to check out late for a small fee to enjoy them further. Breakfast was very delicious with a huge variety of good items to choose from. Would definitely return! Only recommendation is to make the regular swimming pools warmer...they were quite chilly!

The Don Marco has been refurbished many on the outside with the restaurant moved to the Don Pedro,I have to admit I liked the old postion but the new restaurant is very good. The avairy has been removed much the my partner Maria's dismay. Some of the refurbishment is still on going.

Great. Across road from beach

We were very happy with this hotel and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Only negatives were mattress was very hard on the bed,we should have appreciated a kettle in the room,and found the breakfast coffee tasteless.
That said everything else about our stay was wonderful and we should definitely recommend this hotel ,and would hope to return for future holidays.

Hotel rooms ok but noisy. Not a lot of room to get into bathroom between the short bathroom door and the corner of the slab of marble for the sink.

Dining room ok but waiters are not very responsive to take drink orders. I waited night after night and all other tables were served before the British.

The standards have dropped and this is my 3rd visit to your complex.

Noisy hotel with a lack of customer service

Although this hotel is a Melia hotel (which was one of our reasons to book this based on past experience) it didn't live up to the expectations at all. The check in worked fine, but the room was not clean (several long hairs in the bed and bathroom) and noisy. It was not problem to listen to the corridor activities or outside entertainment activities from the bed. As well the cleaning in the rooms aside and on top was closer than we wished. The breakfast supplied was okay, but was more a mass-canteen breakfast (coffee form machines was watery and didn't taste fresh, selection of fresh fruits and cereals was not wide, juice from machines doesn't taste natural). During check out there was no question for feedback, how the stay was. There was just a short information for us, when we wanted the reception to order a taxi, that there is a strike. No alternatives supplied (e.g. private shuttle ordered), using an elevator or an app to order a taxi. We had to fix that by ourselves without staff support. Not acceptable. First and last time we stayed there.

My wife and I recently stayed for a short break. Hotel was great and staff very friendly. Don Marco was ideal for our quiet getaway. If you wanted more noise and entertainment the connected Don Pablo offered that whereas the Don Marco hit the spot for couples chill out break.

Simply a magical place

Perfect quiet location with immaculate surroundings. If you can do the beach walk to Benalmadena then it's a must. A well worth trek through beautifully clean, scenic paths with an eye opening marina to wander round at the end. If the food and drink are too much then €15 gets you a taxi ride back to the hotel. The staff are fantastic and the whole experience should really be under the 5star banner. Can't wait to go back again.

My husband & I stayed at the Sol Don Pablo for 1week from the 22 Dec.... We had originally booked the sister hotel Don Marco but we were not disappointed with Don Pablo. We had room No. 202 at the front end of the hotel which over looked the pools & beach...\"excellent!\"
The room was clean everyday
Breakfast had so much to choose from & cava if you wished each morning.
The food was varied each night & flavoursome.
The staff worked so hard & we're always very polite!!!
We spoke with lots f holidays makers whom had been back 2/3/4 times.
I would definitely go back again!!

A nice hotel but overpriced and non-accommodating

It is a nice hotel with a fantastic breakfast (think all-you-can-eat good Spanish food) yet rather expensive and with staff that is non-accommodating. I made my reservation on the Expedia app which assumes a lot of things like the number of travelers as 1 by default. I made the booking not realizing this fact and when I showed up at the hotel they asked us how many people will be in the room and I said 2. Then they said my booking was invalid because the price was more than double if you had 2 people in the SAME room. Complete garbage. Anyway, besides this point, it was a nice stay very close to the beach.
Also, parking is just about non-existent, so be careful.

Nice short break hotel

I travelled with a friend staying at the Sol Don Marco for 4 nights. We booked a private transfer which took about 15 minutes.

Rooms were clean and spacious, beds were slightly on the firm side.

Food was good, ate at both the Marco and Pablo although after 4 nights could become quite boring but there are plenty of restaurants on the doorstep of the hotel.

We sat at a different pool each day and there are so many sunbeds so never an issue trying to find one at whatever time of the day.

Just outside the hotel is a shop either side selling drinks and snacks so we stocked up our water from there. Ben & Jerry's shop just down the road for ice cream :)

Overall had a lovely few days and would recommend to anyone looking for a short break without travelling too far from the UK.

The hotel was OK, no 'wow' factor for a 4 star hotel, more of a 3 star. We went half board but only ate in the restaurant on 2 occasions as it was just not an enjoyable dining experience. The food was the same every single day. It is worth going for the room only option and eating out at the many varied and superb restaurants out and about. The reception bar at the hotel was open once in 5 days, finding staff was difficult, the hotel appeared to run on a very low number of staff. Many pools, 1 pool bar, no staff / waiters. Clean room and great area, probably much better hotels around for a similar price.

Third time staying here in the last year and a half (I like it a lot so I keep returning). Lovely, safe place for a single female to enjoy a holiday. Great facilities but easy to opt out have a quiet time if you prefer. Beach is just across the road if you want a change of scenery.

Nice hotel room with sea views

Nice hotel and room, nice sea views and balcony, good air conditioning and fridge in our room. Maybe room a bit small but it was ok as it is. Nice size bathroom with bath and shower.
Quality of food a bit poor, no drinks included at all at restaurant and not allow to drink from your own bottle of water as one of the days we had one with us as we were coming from the beach and were told off.
Restsurant and bar staff not very friendly but activity entertaning guys very friendly.
Perfect location!
We will be back again!

'Relaxing Holiday'

Once again I had a lovely stay at the Sol Don Marco.
The Don Marco makes you feel relaxed as soon as you walk into the hotel foyer.
the unrushed ambience of the hotel compaired to most of the local hotels, puts you in a refreshing holiday mood!
Meals we had were on a half board basis (breakfast/evening dinner) or you could swap evening dinner for lunch instead.
A 10 minute walk takes you to the winding walk full of cafe's shops and bars up to the main part of the town
which is San Miguel Street.Giving you time for a well earned ' Small beer! ' (large beers warm up too quickly!!)
from the front of the Don Marco the famous clean beach is 20 paces away!!
along the seafront for miles are the 'Chiringito restaurants' which sell freshly caught seafood of all types.
Sardines on a wood skewer dipped in rock salt and cooked next to a glowing wood log are to die for !!!
if you need any help or information then the you need to talk to 'Ana' on reception!!
She was so helpful to any questions that we asked her!
she was just 'Lovely'

Highly recommend a visit

Had a brilliant time at this hotel 28 May - 4th June nothing was too much trouble the staff work tirelessly to make the stay perfect! Food was well presented and caters for every taste we had a lovely bottle of champagne in our room courtesy of the hotel staff as it were our wedding anniversary
Thanks to Ana and all the staff I was anxious about half board but would definitely visit again thankyou to all the hardworking staff

Beachfront hotel with use of 3 hotels!

Fantastic beachfront hotel, we received a free upgrade and was on the 5th floor overlooking the sea, huge balcony with sunloungers which was nice. Food was excellent great choice and facilities of 3 different hotels. Great staff too! Only negative cheap mattress!

Room nice and clean, especially lovely bathroom with a rain shower head loved it! Ok size balcony and good ac, we had also booked breakfast which was a nice variety continental English or German, pool was good though water a bit cold but cannot fault anyone for that, extra money for in room wifi but free in hotel lobby with a medium speed, steps from beach and restaurants and shopping highly recommend the sushi place called tiki within a 5 minute walk, reservations a must

Can't ask for more

Location and ambiance are fantastic to set most anyone in a relaxed mood. Staff works extremely hard to satisfy all needs from check-in to dining to tours and room needs. We were there in Late April 2015 no crowds at either hotel or beach area. Buffet breakfast and dinner were great with amazing staff there. Will return again

Good pools, silly rules.

Room was small and awkward. Air con only worked when hotel wanted it to. No internet in room. No food in hotel though sister hotels were nearby. Beach Towels required 10 euro deposit. Room towels not replaced after 3 days and beds never changed.
All in all cheap and depressing venue which could have easily been so much better.
