We only stayed one night and there was a storm hitting Spain, never seen rain like it, the guy on reception let us an umbrella… all staff we came across were super friendly and very kind defo stay here again.

Staff were friendly and helpful, the buffet style food in the evening was varied from huge kegs of lamb to chicken paella, prawn salads, fruit, all sorts all freshly cooked and delicious. The room was a great size, very clean and well kitted out. Couldn’t fault it all! Will definitely return.

The hotel is in a great location. Breakfast was really good for reasonable price. The rooms are a bit small but well appointed. Very nice pool area. The roof top bar was closed for the season. One criticism is the blow dryers connected to the wall in the bathroom. Just hate these.

The apartment was clean, air-conditioning was good. No door on toilet was more of an issue than expected, privacy was one thing, but being disturbed by light and noise anothe.. no fridge or coffee making facilities in room. There is a communal area with coffee making, and free bottled water in fridge but all rooms open onto it, so you need to be dressed...

I stayed at this property for 3 days.I liked that the beach was within walking distance from the hotel.
I enjoyed the cafe con leche from the bar.
The staff was helpful...but not very welcoming.
The pool area was nice especially the two jacuzzis upstairs however the timer on them was malfunctioning.

Good hotel location

The hotel was in a great location a five minute walk from the beach. Good breakfast and nice pool beds and pool. Service was good overall. The rooms were nice and clean but they were not very soundproof. You could hear a lot of chairs being pushed and pulled around on balconies and people talking late at night which did not aid with good sleep. This is something that could hopefully improve.

Disappointing Stay at a Hotel That Misses the Mark

Despite its four-star claims, the Essence Hotel in Torremolinos delivered a disappointing experience from start to finish.

The front desk staff were consistently rude and unhelpful, making even simple requests feel like an inconvenience. Although I was given a voucher for a welcome drink, I was met with eye-rolling from the bartender when I tried to redeem it — which made me wonder why they offer it at all.

Towel service was frustrating: not mentioned at check-in, only available at the front desk, and limited to one exchange per day before 3:00 PM. When I inquired, I was ignored for five minutes while the staff took a phone call, and I eventually walked away. I was also given no help when I asked for dining recommendations near the beach, assistance with mailing a stamped postcard, or even directions to the nearest mailbox — ironically, my Uber driver was far more helpful than anyone at the hotel.

Because of the poor service, I avoided spending another cent on the property, including dining. The dismissive attitude left no desire to support the hotel further.

The facilities looked nice but didn’t function well — the A/C had no fan control, and the bathroom fan blasted every time you turned on the light. It’s more a three-star property wearing a four-star label.

Overall, a stylish exterior couldn’t make up for the lack of hospitality. I won’t be returning — and wouldn’t recommend it.

Great stay for R&R

It was a great 3 night stay, the facilities were great, staff friendly and for a couple the hotel had everything we would need or want. Only downer for us was the room location. Directly above the main entrance so heard everyone coming and going very clearly, facing a main road with buses and Lorrie’s going up and down and internally opposite the lift and stairs so heard everyone on our floor coming and going.
We would absolutely visit again but request a different room location if possible.

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a wonderful experience overall. The bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep. The entire property was very clean and well-maintained, which I really appreciated. One of the highlights was the heated pool with plenty of lounge beds available—it was a perfect spot to relax.

The staff were fantastic—friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. The service throughout my stay was top-notch and made me feel very welcome.

The only downside was the lack of soundproofing in the rooms. If you're facing the street, you will hear traffic noise, people talking outside which could be a disturbance for light sleepers.

That said, the positives far outweighed the negatives, and I would happily stay here again.

Spent 8 days here over the Christmas period. As a solo traveller it was perfect. Room was cleaned daily along with all the communal areas which were spotless. The heated pool and jacuzzi were amazing for a stay in

The staff were lovely.

The room was comfortable, light, and clean. The tv had English channels, which was great after a long day sight seeing. The shower was excellent.

I can't comment on the restaurant, as it was closed for the week. However the hotel set out drinks and small breakfast pastries, which were tasty.

It's an easy walk into the main town (if you use the lift, as the hill was steep!).

Very good value for money.

This is a super nice hotel. Great location within walking distance to the beach. Lovely pool, hot tubs and sauna. 3-4 really good restaurants adjacent to the hotel. Plus a bar in the lobby open until 11 pm. Excellent value.

Sadly we had to do our stay in 2 bookings as hotel was busy and our 1st room had a bad smell which I believe was from drainage , we had a view of the street with loud roadworks going on that was extremely noisy which was not told at time of booking 😥

We planned a nice romantic meal at the Sky restaurant for our anniversary but there were 11 raucous men in the Jacuzzi at 8pm (bachelor party even though we lead to believe the jacuzzi would be closed at 7pm) this made our dinner arrangements impossible and we chose to leave.
The staff were very understanding and apologetic.
The hotel staff and amenities were wonderful and we shall definitely come again.

My family and I had the most amazing time at the Essence Hotel Boutique! The hotel was like something out of a dream. Our room was super stylish and comfy, with the coziest bed ever. The pool area was our favorite spot – it was so relaxing to chill there and soak up the sun.

The food was delicious too! We loved trying all the different dishes. The staff were super friendly and always happy to help. They made us feel so welcome.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a fun and unforgettable family vacation!

What an absolutely fantastic hotel. Staff members could not do enough for you. The cafés & restaurants in the Avenue were largely patronised by locals, as it’s quite a residential area. I felt as though I was really on Spain as opposed to a tourist area. Beach very close by with lots of nice restaurants. I can’t wait to return.

Had a fantastic 3 night stay and loved this hotel. Would definitely recommend and also return there.

Rooms, maybe not the biggest, were still very well set out and perfect for us. Our room (412) had a bathroom door that wouldnt fully shut but that's a minor issue.

Pool was heated with a huge steam room that you can use daily. Two jacuzzis. Chairs, bed around pool were superb.

We had breakfast which was outstanding in terms of choice and quality.

The rooftop Space Monkey bar with another large jacuzzi must be visited too but a bit chilly by night this time of year.

All staff were fantastic, always good to speak with, very friendly and helpful at all times.

The location was excellent close to the seafront. Town centre, above the resort is a 10 minute walk.

All in all, we had a wonderful time.

We stayed at the hotel with my wife for a week and had only great experience, the reception staff were very freindly and indeed attentive to all our requests. Dinner option was varied every time and we did not have same dinner option for that week. Beach as well as many pubs are only few minutes away from the hotel, so location is really nice, they also have pool with warm water and that is great especially for the middle season, when water in the see is still quite cold. As a frequent travelers, we can only strongly recommend Essence hotel.

Ideal location for a trip

We had a great 5 day break at this hotel. The location was ideal, 15 mins by Uber to the airport, a stones throw from the beach and all the food and drink outlets close by. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and varied to suit all tastes. Didn't use the pool but it looked nice. All areas were kept spotlessly clean. I would recommend this place very highly as a base in Torremolinos.

It's not an alternative for low season

The hotel is fine… in low season it is not a good location… the employees are foreigners and cannot give recommendations of the area because they do not know the city… breakfast opens late, so if you have to leave early there is nowhere to have breakfast…

Great hotel right in the middle of Torremolinos, 5 mins walk to the beach and shops etc..
Staff were great, very helpful, the only area that could be better was around the noise, it was hard to sleep as right outside is a busy road and the windows are not sound proof..
But overall a very good experience, highly recommended!

A little Gem

my wife and I stayed in this hotel for 12 nights recently.
The first thing to say is the friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff in reception, the dining room and the bedroom cleaners.
We booked half board and the quality and variety of food at both breakfast and dinner was very good.
our bedroom was very clean and comfortable and had one of the best showers I have experienced in hotels for a long time.
The bedroom was cleaned daily.
Already looking forward to returning next year
