We were there 7 nights. Our room was cleaned each day. Overall the place is nice and upscale. Stayed in building 2 overseeing ocean and pool. Pool areas are not big and don't have lots of loungers. Beds were a bit hard as I woke up sore. Lobby is nice. Staff was overall ok but our stats in other RIU properties on other countries seemed a little more friendly at the bars. Mayce this is just cultural. We were there in late February. Perfect temperatures to explore. Lots of older folks with walkers or canes. Nice to see the older generation still traveling and better than loud spring breakers. I wouldn't have liked staying in the building behind the lobby. Too far from the ocean, small pool area, with no views.

The hotel is great, all amenities are well kept and the location is amazing.
The only thing we had a bit of an issue with is a strange vibe of some staff members not being too helpful, not welcoming and one of them actually very sarcastic and passive aggressive , some refusing to speak English. Quite disappointing because the hotel itself is great.

Our room was disappointing. We have stayed with RIU on 4 other occasions and the standards at this one did not meet our expectations and were not as nice. Our room got no sunlight. It looked over a back alleyway. Towels in the room were very old and threadbare. The size of the room and the bathroom was half the size of any RIU we have ever stayed in. While the food was good with a lot of variety the restaurants were quite chaotic at times. Wait staff would seat people at tables on some occasions and at other times it was a free for all. The restaurant capacity was not enough for the amount of people waiting to eat and we were required to line up outside the restaurant. While our time at this hotel was okay the standard of RIU wasn't evident and it did not meet our expectations of this chain. This may mean we don't book with RIU in the future.

I have to give one star for cleanliness just because there was zero enforcement of hygiene. People coughing and sneezing into the air, communal tongs without hand sanitizer at the food stations, and potential food poisoning?? Three of the members of my family including my bay got severe diarrhea, vomiting, and fevers. Please please please enforce stricter hygiene policies especially during flu season!

Good experience overall. The dining options at the resort were not good, the food was not good at all. However, there were a lot of close restaurants just off the resort that were unbelievable and very good! Some of the best food we’ve had! If you’re okay with eating out for every meal, this place is a great option for you.

Also, the beach is not on the property. It is off the resort so you have to walk to it. The beach is very clean and the water is absolutely beautiful but we were under the impression the beach was attached to the resort.

This resort was definitely for an older crowd ( which we loved ) but keep in mind things do close early at the resort because of that.

Room was 26 Celsius (very warm) when we arrived. I phoned down to reception and they said no AC, open your door. I explained the sun was beaming in the window but they did not care or offer to move us to a room on the other side that would be much cooler. We were over looking the side street so spent a hot night listening to outside noise on old mattresses. I understand energy savings but listing said AC. They should advertise correctly when they shut it off for the season. I would never have booked. Requested king and received 2 twins. Found the buffet to be lacking in selection and quality. And it is fully self service including drinks. Would choose something else if back in the area. The room was clean and easy drive to the airport.

The hotel grounds and general location exceeded expectations. The beach was such an added bonus because it’s cleaned daily and the sand and sea is great.
The best attribute was the staff. Not a single unpleasant person. Everyone happy, attentive and conscientious.
The negatives were that the hotel and numerous buildings and consequently feels like 3 hotels in one. The tower in the photos and then buildings around the perimeter, which I hadn’t appreciated before arrival which means there were many more holiday makers than expected. Logistically though the high quality and hard working staff ensured the consistency of good service.
RUI could have also given the entertainment staff more time off which would have improved the diversity of the entertainment schedule too. For example there could have been a range of external entertainment included such as tributes and Spanish dancing rather then the same entertainment staff presenting every night albeit with enthusiasm

Nice looking hotel which is clean and tidy. The room was also very comfortable.

The food and drink selection however is very poor. All the drinks whether they are soft or with alcohol are watered down and taste artificial, I had a cosmopolitan and it tasted full of additives and full of sugar. You could barely taste any alcohol. This taste seemed to dominate all the drinks from slushies to simple fruit juice.

Even the wine was awful, it was like drinking water and the rose looked like pop.

The buffet Resturant had a poor selection and was very disappointing. When eating dinner in the Italian, the main course was severely over cooked. However, the buffet was quite nice with a good selection. Unfortunately though there were ants all over the puddings. I informed one of the Resturant staff and they changed the desert that the ants were on. But as soon as a fresh one came down the ants came back.

We are so disappointed with this. We feel like we have been completely ripped off for £500 per night! We’ve barely eaten or drunk anything due to the poor quality.

The quality of the food is not a reflection on the staff who were perfectly nice and the facilities were also good. It is just a shame that the food and drink let the hotel down. For this reason, we will not be staying at RIU again.

very clean property. some of the staff were very helpful and friendly, others not so much. reception staff were great. infinity pool is gorgeous. food options were mediocre, we ate outside the resort often. overall it was a nice stay in a great location. it caters more towards an elderly crowd, if you are a young couple i would probably choose a different resort.

Spanish restaurant was all self service and not really any different to the main buffet restaurant ,which was just noisy and chaotic.
Drinks okay, wine was never really cold but drinkable.
All in all an okay hotel but nothing spent on luxury. No cushions on the chairs, no nice cocktails or juices. Everything made in machines with syrups etc.
I did expect a little more from a Rui hotel but nothing was that bad.

My favorite thing was catching a sunrise at the breakfast cafeteria, and starting the day with fresh fruits and food. Easy walk to the beach, and train station(has park and ride parking). Street parking was easy and right out front. In the evening they do a flamenco show, don’t forget to check schedule :)

If this is the sort of thing you like it might be ok, but cheap slop food, awful small drinks in plastic cups, and woeful entertainment. Even breakfast was very poor, running out of milk, instant coffee in some random jugs you have to find yourself, the cook was reheating already cooked bacon back on the hot plate. Just grim all round really. Staff were unfriendly and rushed off their feet. Rooms were tired and dingey, Snacks were terrible, rubber burgers and hot dogs. No idea how this place gets a high rating, it's a poor 3 star at best.

Disappointing overall and non-friendly staff

I was really disappointed with this hotel. I was travelling alone with my 2 year-old daughter. We booked a \"family room\" - which I guess has that title because it has a seperate bedroom. But our room was placed on the first floor right above one of the hotel's bars which was open until 11 PM, I believe. The windows in our room were of poor quality, so they didnt block any noise. It was SO LOUD and not quite until midnight. Not great when you are travelling with kids. After 3 nights, I couldnt take it anymore and asked for another room due to the noise. The receptionist gave me an attitude and claimed there couldnt be any noise and said he could give me a room facing the street, but that would probably be noisy as well. I told him Id rather want the street noise than the hotel bar noise (drunk all-inclusive guests are LOUD). When he finally \"let me\" switch rooms, I was told I could come pick up the new keys whenever I saw fit. But after an hour, when I had just put my baby down for her one hour nap, they called me and told me I had to leave my room NOW because they needed to clean it (I had been gone ALL MORNING, until noon, where they could have cleaned it). They let me stay 30 more minutes and then I had to wake up my baby, who was so tired after the poor sleep from all the night noise, she cried, and we moved all our stuff, without any help, to the other room. Poorly and unprofessionally handled from start to finish.
Staff was not welcoming and food was below average.

The hotel is greatly located in the area from which it is an easy walk to the railway station, shopping, restaurants, etc. The food is tasty and there were lots of choices. The staff is helpful. The entertainment team is trying to make people happy. The bars , especially the one next to the reception, are excellent. The coffee is amazing. Thank you.

The hotel was average at best. The drinks menu was ok, limited options and cocktails were all pre mixes. The food did not hang together, it was all random options so hard to make a meal. The restaurants were just buffets, in fact the Spanish option was exactly the same as the main buffet! Really disappointed. The hair dryer didn’t work, after 2 mins it cut out and then when I asked for someone to look at it they simply stated ‘it’s rubbish we know, it over heats’ - great! Kids club was good, it operated 10.30 - 12.45 and then 2.30 - 4pm. Our son enjoyed it. He would have liked to be involved in the games but was told you need to be 13 to play darts with rubber arrows, bit disappointing. Overall a basic hotel with basic facilities. It was expensive for what you got! Oh and there is NO waterpark, it says ‘free water park access’ as if there is a water park, there is not, it’s a baby splash park, again very misleading and disappointing

Beautiful hotel. The pools are gorgeous and it is right across from an amazing beach. The food was really good, although after 10 days it was getting pretty repetitive. There were always tables available in the restaurant and chairs in the pool. Unlike other Riu all inclusive that we have been to, there were no waiters/waitresses to serve drinks at the bars or the pools which was unusual, but other than that it was wonderful.

Our room was next to the ladies toilet on the ground floor so experienced constant loud noise whenever someone used the hand dryer.
The gym had very limited and dated equipment and was very hot most of the time.
There were no activities post 2230hrs in the hotel apart from drinking at the bar. We therefore had to venture out of the hotel for anything post 2230hrs.

Creepy receptionist and very poor stay

Started off with an unpleasant welcome as a late arrival as the hotel couldn’t find my booking so was just told to wait. The check in guy at reception was deliberately unhelpful, talking over me every time I spoke and refusing any suggestion that would enable me to get my room. Eventually I had to pay twice to get my room. My room had no WiFi, the key cards didn’t work, the shower head was shoulder height as I was put in a disabled room, which couldn’t actually be accessed by wheelchair, the room was very tired and worn out, I paid for all inclusive but given the late arrival and faff by the hotel I was told I had 10 mins to eat before they closed for the night, the staff were unable to tell me if I had been charged twice or not and I’d need to speak to the manager as they had no idea, but they don’t have a manager who works after 5pm - in a hotel whereby the main service is provided at night. In the morning I asked to speak to the manager yet wasn’t allowed. When I checked out with a different lady the very rude and strange guy who checked me just stared at me even though he wasn’t dealing with me then walked over pointing scissors at me. A really odd bloke who has no place in hospitality.

Our rooms view was incredible, we sprung the extra for a junior suite. At first glance it seemed very nice, although oddly small for a “suite”. Our king bed was two twin cots put together. After three nights both my husband and I could barely walk from the back pain. When you moved in the bed I could hear the plyboard shift below me. The pillows were flat and small. I enjoyed the breakfast but found the lunch and dinner to be exactly the same at the buffet. Repetitive bland food would be my overall. The two restaurants were terrible. We tried them then decided to stick with the buffet. On the third night we had a bug problem. They did seem to take it seriously and came with raid immediately. Unfortunately, that night we had to sleep in the smell of raid as we couldn’t open doors as the bugs would come in.

The facility is well kept and the views are outstanding. Everything else was average or below. Food is not seasoned and either under or overcooked. You can count on the breads and fruit to be good. Everything else is either inedible or needs salt - fried fish had bones, French toast raw in the middle, just icky. Rooms have the thinnest towels and no wash cloths. No conditioner or lotion either. Nothing stocked in the fridge. Shower wouldn’t maintain a temperature - it would go cold for a couple seconds and then about scald you and then go back to where you set it for a couple minutes. We couldn’t get the thermostat to do anything. It was so hot in our room and the AC wouldn’t work. We opened our balcony door to let in fresh air but the one day the people next to us were smoking on their balcony and it blew straight into our room. Shows were ok but not great. I’d stay somewhere else if I go back to Malaga.

Easy online check in, making easier the arrival. We arrived before check in time but room was ready, what was great. Main issue, the food. There is not huge variety, quality just there. Even offering two \"special\" restaurants for dinner, we tried only one, the one offering Andaluz food, that to be honest, offered same buffet available in the general restaurant for all day lunch. Not any real local experience. Then we decided to eat in the town the rest of the days. Breakfast is OK.
Clean and tidy rooms, hotel very well located. Not too much to say about evening entertainment, just basic.
Probably our fault, but we didn't know in advance, seems that main target clients are retirees and families with small kids, so probably not the best place for couples of our age.

Birthday weekend away with my sister

Amazing Hotel, great food and facilities.
Excellent choice for a winter break.
Close proximity to train station which is amazing for transportation into Malaga and other resorts along the coast.
Will definitely be returning!
