Good budget freidly hotel

I really liked rotal costa overall. I will dtay again and recomend it for people.
Beds were comfortable nice to have a real bath breakfast was nice and i dont normally like hotel breakfasts.
The pools is big and good for dwimming in i am here in april using it

The probles i had were my ocean viewfid not have a ocean view.
The plug beside the bed was broken toliet flushed moved around when it shouldn't and the sink was worn tattered.

The issues were nit big issues for me i could see it being a problem for people who need machiens to sleep with no plug working hear the bed.
For the mo ey paid though it was overall worth it and i cant wait to come back

The hotel was very good for the price. The bar and restaurant good, breakfast very good and prices excellent. The hotel was very clean and staff very helpful.
Location is fantastic for the train to malaga and Airport. The only thing that lets it down are the bedrooms. Very dated poor beds and showers.

When we first arrived, the front desk guy looked at us, and went back to his cell phone. We stood there for a good minute, and then he glanced up again and clearly was annoyed by us checking in too early. His attitude was unnecessary, but we brushed it off and sat in the lobby until our room was ready. Once inside the room, we got hit with a STRONG, foul smelling oder. It was something coming out of the bathroom. I’m not entirely sure as to what it was, as it was clean. We had to keep the door shut all night and put our left over food in there to mask the smell. Due to the experience at the front desk, and only being there for one night, we just sucked it up. The room itself was not bad, but the beds were also incredibly uncomfortable.

I just needed a reasonably priced room to spend the night, somewhere near the airport. It appeared to be in a good neighborhood, and it was clean. The service of the front desk employees was excellent! Check-in & check-out was very smooth. They called me a taxi, and sent me off with a boxed lunch.
I didn’t eat there, so I don’t have any opinion about the restaurant.
The only complaint I have is the noise, although I didn’t complain to the hotel staff. It was very noisy. People sounded like they were yelling and running in the halls, right outside my door. A couple of times I thought someone was trying to open my door, when they were actually going into their own rooms.
Despite all the noise, I’d stay at the Hotel Royal Costa again. The price was really cheap, the service was great, and my room was clean and adequate for 1 person.

This is a budget hotel. Because I didnt pay a lot, i was actually impressed. However there are areas which could be improved. It is expected that there will be plug sockets next to the bed, however I only found one socket for the whole room. The bath was quite dangerous, as you nearly topple over trying to reach the taps, however it was nice to have a bath present. The pool bar was not open, but as its only May, maybe it will open later. The food was very average. My biggest problem was how noisy it was: the noise from the bar carries up the stairs, the chairs are so heavy you can hear people scraping them across the floor. The walls are so thin, you can hear talking. The doors do not close so you get a draft. The hotel backs onto train tracks so that is also noisy. However, the staff were pleasant and it was clean. I would not choose to holiday here, but it has a good location close to the airport and beach, so served a purpose for me. Very reasonably priced.

Convenient for train line close to sirport, walking distance easily. Beach and other facilities further away but walkable.
I would describe this hotel as dated, single room was ok. Bed linen clean but old. One night stay, balcony a good one for watching aircraft. Minor cleaning issue of leftover shower gel sachet from previous guests in shower area.
Dated decor but a fun place with entertainment in evening, popular with elderly groups i think.
Breakfast buffet good, gets busy at times.
Wifi good.
Very fair price, would probably use again.

We stayed here for one night after arriving at Malaga airport. The hotel is 7 mins drive from the airport. There are a handful of free parking places outside the hotel which we were lucky to get one. There were also parking places on the street which were free.

The reception area was nice and very clean. Check in was quick and easy. The room was quite small and dated but can't complain for what we paid. There was a good variety of foods but it wasn't very warm.

In summary,this hotel is ok for a one night stay and convenient to the airport.

Horrible experience

The hotel gave our reservation to someone else without checking with us. Then asked us to go to another of their hotels.
We travelled from UK to Spain that day and they told us that our reservation is gone when we checked in in the night, even though it was confirmed. Going to an unknown hotel with little kids in the middle of the night was horrible.
Also there is almost no street parking. Their description is deceiving.

LOCATION GREAT FOR SHORT TRIP

Pros - great location. Quick train for airport and resorts. Taxi in early morning quick and easy. Nice pool area. Good wee local bar/restaurants nearby. Beach a 10 minute walk. Staff nice and accommodating.
Cons - rooms are very basic, not soundproof at all and beds were poor/hard. Never ceases to amaze me why hotels never put felt pads on furniture that sits on tiled floors - noise is awful.
PS - Hotels.com charged my £45 more for a sea view room than the hotel receipt I got. So didn’t get the room I booked and no refund from Hotes.com

On check in we weren’t advised room towels couldn’t go to the pool. So up and down we went to the room to return our towels. Then we went to the pool. No towels. Must check out from the front desk. Finally at the pool bar. No room charges. Cash or CC. Back to the room again. Then after the pool to the room. With the towels. Ooopsie. Gotta return those at the front desk. The bar served mojitos. Dark rum? A first for me. ….. much much more.

You obviously get what you pay for. This was a cheap few days away so we weren’t expecting much. The rooms are very dated but was clean and fine. Food was ok but always cold despite being under lamps. We were only there for four days, I think you’d get bored with the choice for any longer. Pool was nice, outside area was nice. Overall my general review is ‘It was ok’

It was very old building, so many cracks on the walls in my balcony and room. The walls were so dirty,
The receptionists were not welcome at all, not understand English at all.
I reserved 2 pool view but they have us one of the room pool view and they are not even answer me why.
The food was horrible, plates, spoon and glasses were so dirty.
We did not eat there at all.
Expedia has to investigate about this hotel, service was horrible. The pictures on the website is totally different from reality.

We were worried when we first arrived as it seems you are in the middle of no where but the next day we went for a walk to find the train station right behind the hotel so we were quite happy with that and being English we found it quite easy to work out how to get tickets and where to go etc. Food is good especially breakfast but if you don’t go all inclusive you can’t even have a water at dinner which we thought was abit mean. The rooms could do with abit of TLC and the tv was locked to Spanish even the English channels which was only annoying because we had a couple rainy days so would have been nice to watch something.pool area is good but the life guard is abit strict and doesn’t allow anyone to do much. Overall happy we would go back we just think it needs abit of tweaking in places to make it great

The single room allocated to me had no natural light in it. The bed was basic with a double pillow which I had to fold over to get comfortable. The safe did not seem to work. Disappointing after a long journey. This hotel has seen better days. This is a shame as it is in a nice residential area next to Los Alamos station. This makes it very convenient for the airport and transit to Malaga city where I joined my coach to Granada.OK if al you want is a bed for the night

Great location, not much else.

The location of the hotel is really good, it’s a five minute easy walk to and from the Los Alamos train station which comes direct from the airport and goes to Malaga etc. No need for taxis etc, use the train for everything.
The hotel staff didn’t seem friendly at all, the housekeeping staff were smiley and upbeat but everyone else didn’t smile, say hello or anything, I found it really strange.
There’s 2 lifts which are great, the pool and outdoor area looks lovely and there’s a little play area for young children, it also looks lovely.
The food wasn’t great for us, we are a bit fussy but it was worse than we thought it would be. Breakfast is lovely, so many options but nothing is hot or near to hot, so don’t expect piping hot food, it’ll be warm at best.
We were half board so had dinner too, there aren’t loads of options and there’s no children's section either like most hotels. A lot of the time we ordered from Glovo and got food delivered to the hotel.
The room is dated and basic but was fine, you get hand soap, shower gel and shampoo sachets and the housekeeping clean if you want it cleaning and provide fresh towels. The evening we arrived I found the bathroom had apparently been cleaned but it was dirty with hairs over the toilet seat and all in the bath. I had to clean it myself before we used anything. I didn’t find the beds too uncomfortable considering lots say how awful they are.
The noise from the train, planes, thin walls is a lot, it does disrupt.

Nice well-priced hotel with animation program

Very nice hotel with comfortable, well equipped rooms where actually everything works, from the lights and hot water to TV and heating, which was a relief for me after 2 weeks round trip through Morocco where these things are rare. The buffet food is lovely and half-board or all-inclusive options are very well priced, so make sure you add one of those to your room booking. However, note that alcoholic beverages and snacks between meals are not or may not be included. Parking is free and safe along the street leading to the hotel, and the animation program is plentiful and sounds like fun. One can certainly stay there for a week and not get bored. Highly recommended!

I work as management for an ihg hotel and your staff were quite rude and looked like they weren’t interested in helping me out when I needed anything. Also the bath was so small I didn’t even know they made them that small. I’m retuning on the 22nd January and hope these things are improved

Overall the hotel itsekf was worth the money you paid. We went knowing it wasnt going to be 5 star.

The main issues we had was that the beds themselves were very uncomfortable - almost concrete like and there was only 1 pillow in the room pp. Our verandah was bellow everyone elses balvony so wold make up with our towels and chairs covered in cigarette ash.

Dinner was basic and repetitive and was pretty unorganised, despite paying for dinner you get no free drinking options such as water, so you had to pay for a large bottle even if you onky wanted a small.glass of water with your meal.

The hotel is far out from the major town of torremolinos and the city of malaga and you have to get a train to either - with the train station being a 3 minute walk.

The most uncomfortable thing was that the neighbouring rooms toilet window opened up onyo our private verandah meaning we could see directly into their toilet/shower and if hey so wished they could enter our verandah/room via the toilet window. It was awkward when we were on the balcony chilling and they were in the toilet because we cold see them.

All in all, the hotel is what you get for the money. The price was very cheap and the hotel was OK. If i was looking for somewhere to go for a few days while in torremolinos id probably return to this hotel.

Was crashing here just 1 night myself after a late flight on route to getting friends for a different event, very get what you pay for vibes pulled back the sheet n got a brown stain underneath ended up using my hoody as a blanket, actual hotel/breakfast and pool area was good though breakfast set me up for the rest of the day, right next to the train station that goes from Malaga to Fuengirola which was handy and cheap just like the hotel, the bigger rooms look alot cleaner and updated, im sure it wouldnt be awful for a budget friendly stay

Only did an overnight but glad it wasn’t longer. The hotel reception is clean and modern - the rooms are very tired and like something from the 80’s. The pool tiles (as pointed out by the kids that love diving) were mouldy. The food in the pool bar was awful - slung in a fryer and slung on the plate (drips of grease sat on the plate). Location close to beach not bad not that the staff tell you about the area. All in all - a bad choice.

We stayed at the Hotel royal costa for 5 nights. Some days our room was no cleaned. The service from the hotel staff was fine if you speak Spanish however a major disappointment was the lack of activities, bars or restaurants surrounding the hotel. We had to walk at least 15 -20 minutes to get the main strip where the beach is and this is where the night life is just not ideal to walk back after night out of drinking. Personally I wouldn't stay there again based on that reason and the fact that there was no one else from a different ethnic background so we stood out like a sore thumb! The breakfast buffet was fine although the food became too repetitive. Bed was very hard and uncomfortable to sleep in but on the plus side there is AC.

Hotel is so convenient for everything though.

The hotel is inexpensive and so you get what you pay for. It was fine for one night. Breakfast was not good though, so don't bother with that. Also there is no access to an iron or ironing board, so take your own travel iron. Otherwise it is a standard 3 star and the rooms are OK but a bit dated. Good location and very close to the train station which is very handy.

For a cheap hotel it wasn’t the absolute worst hotel I’ve stayed at but it was pretty close. The bed was two twin beds pushed together but they slid apart with little to no effort so I found myself falling between them countless times throughout the night. Plus on top of that the AC didn’t work at all.

Lovely location nice a quit nice big room and bathroom food was ok good be better lovely pool with outside bar shame about the sunbeds was very hard as had no cushion so we went to the beach instead as more comfortable shame because it would of been nice to relax around the pool

Rooms are smaller than photos. I even hit one of my arms with bathroom knob on the first night. All foods are buffet style; no a la carte items, which is frustrating when you do not like the food prepared. Besides that, staff was very nice and facilities look nice and clean. I was able to relax and rest most nights :-) Room keys activate AC and lights which is ok but AC sometimes does not pick up fast cool temperatures thst are pre-set

I liked balcony size and pool. We were lucky to get room with triple balcony size. We didn't like 2 things:
1. Dishes weren't clean enough. Kitchen staff probably put them in the machine and that's it. Nobody was checking dishes and cutlery after coming out from machine. I found lipstick on cup, vegetables on fork...
2. Cesspool smell in bathroom. (Not always, only 20% of time). No matter how much air freshener charwoman used, she couldn't cover the fact, that problem is somewhere in pipes or ventilation.
We didn't ask for other room, we didn't want to loose big balcony. Pipes and ventilation are same for whole building anyway.

Great place where the local Spanish people are happy to stay st for some sun.

The staff are super friendly.
Careful that the door key downs y become near your smart phone or it may interfere with the contactless tech used.

9:15-10am is the busiest period for breakfast.

Positive: Royal Costa was very clean and the room was very comfortable. The breakfast was good and plenty. It is very close to the Los Alamos train station which makes it very attractive because you can be in the centre of Malaga in 20-25 minutes and in 5-8 minutes at the airport. Also you can be in he attractive Torremolinos beach area in 10 minutes. Staff wee very helpful and really polite. From the room, I had a very nice view of the sea, which was very relaxing

Negative:There were no plugs in the room and I had to use the plug of the TV; actually to take out the cable of the TV and use it to charge my phone and the PC. Another think which I consider it UNACCEPTABLE, and to be honest without any logic and I haven't seen it anywhere else, is the fact that, in order to open the air conditioning you have to call the reception and ask the technician to come with the control of the air conditioner to put it to work, otherwise you will die from heat, since Malaga is a hot place in Spain, since it is located in the south part of Spain

I booked this hotel on Expedia - I put the wrong date and I just wanted them to switch the reservation to the proper date- I wasn’t canceling my reservation and they refused to give me a refund. Boooo hisss
