Great place to stay, we went to our auntie‘s 87th birthday party and we stayed here and it was clean other than some Uno cards that I found under the couch. Other than that everything was very nice and the restaurant was to die for the food was great. I will recommend this place.

Room was difficult to adequately cool. It’s true that we had gone from cold days to warm but even over several hours and switching to air-conditioning, the room was still warmer than I liked.
I stay at this facility several times a year because of the restaurant in the bar and the good location. Two or three times, though, the bathroom has smelled moldy.

It’s an old property. The bathrooms need to be redone. There was mold around the tub, and the paint was chipped. Room itself was ok. Restraint closes at 9 pm.

Room was quite clean and spacious. Conveniently located in lovely downtown Carlisle. Amenities in the room were slim but since I travel with everything I might need we were fine. Folks at the desk were pleasant and check in and out was a breeze.

We had an after midnight arrival. I called, and the sweetest young lady helped us. On arrival, a different young lady and man were so pleasant! I would stay there again for sure!!!

As others have noted, this hotel could use some updating, but it was clean and our room was large. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Free parking in a lot just behind the hotel made life easy. And the 1794 restaurant downstairs had a nice selection of menu items. Staff there was also very professional and friendly. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Great location, older hotel, very good restaurant on premises. Some maintenance issues like, shampoo dispenser missing, lotion dispenser torn from the wall, sink stopped did not work etc. Deep cleaning required, trash between couch and wall, cleaning of glass surfaces.

We only had two complaints. The first was rather petty, very small bathroom, only 1 tissue in the box! But there were plenty of big, fluffy towels, the room was very clean, quiet & well appointed. The staff was very good & the breakfast was wonderful. The only issue was parking. Since it was a downtown hotel, there was no on site parking, however there is a public parking lot right next door that charges $5 per day. Unfortunately, the city had closed it to be steamed cleaned the weekend we were there! On street parking was sparse but free overnight while the garage was serviced. There are great restaurants and things to see in walking distance. The hotel's restaurant has a patio just above the street & was always full, so apparently, the food was good. I would recommend this hotel to anybody!

Great Break on a Long Drive

We love to stay here on our way to and from the New England. The location is perfect and the adjoining steak house is a wonderful place to unwind after driving all day. It is an added plus that they are dog friendly.

Don’t miss this Charming, Vintage Gem

Loved the vibe at the portico and front lobby of this Historical Hotel. Felt more like a vintage Inn or B&B especially with the tavern, outside covered street patio and popular restaurant in the building. Food is delicious.
Rooms are large, very clean, fresh and beds were very comfortable. There is no smoking on premises. They offer the usual Free breakfast, internet and parking. If you’re traveling on route 81 going through Carlisle Pa I wouldn’t hesitate to spend the night at this charming little gem only a couple blocks off the interstate. Everything about it was wonderful!

I rated this property (Terrible) because my room smelled like mold. It wasn't a faint smell; it was a powerful smell. It was as if the carpet had gotten wet and moldy, and they tried to cover it up. I've stayed here many times, so it's likely that something has happened in the last couple of months that they haven't addressed.

I went for a weekend with my mother just to have some time away. The minute I stepped into the stairway I was disappointed in the cleanliness. Once out of the steps, first thing I noticed was a wave in the carpet where the whole center of it has lifted, all the way down the hallway. Went into the room and could tell we had a lazy housekeeper. Window was dirty and mirrors were all smudged up. The bathroom door was broken, it still worked but it took a few tries to get it to close each time. The bed was stiff, no refrigerator light, and just overall not very clean. I was disappointed overall.

Clean, safe an comfortable stay while traveling.

I was traveling with my spouse and two dogs. It was great to be able to go eat at the good restaurant while leaving my dogs in the room. The room was a generous size, had a fridge and was very comfortable. I e machine right at end of the hallway. People were friendly and most importantly, it was clean and quiet. Dow town Carlisle is quite charming and felt safe at night while dog walking. Cute shops and a good coffee shop across the street if you need a cappuccino or something specialty. Very convenient to I-81.

We enjoyed this hotel. It is located ideally in downtown Carlisle and it has a great restaurant. We ate there twice.
The room was clean and well ventilated. It had a seating area that we used frequently and found it to be a nice addition. The room was also spacious. The beds were clean and comfortable but there he pillows! The pillows are the only thing we did not like. They were small and plump and we found them uncomfortable.
Otherwise I would not choose another hotel in Carlisle!

The room was quite big and comfortable. The beds and the bathroom were a bit small. Breakfast was the expected minimal variety. Our first night was nice except for some challenges connecting to the Internet. The front desk staff were very nice, but unable to help with this issue. Our second night wasn't very good - some people in the next room turned their TV on loud at 11:30 PM and left it on all night long! It sounded like it was right on our room, so soundproofing appears minimal.

Very Nice Place in a Friendly Town

One night stay on Jan 1st. Disappointed the restaurant was not open. It was one reason we selected this place. We are not big celebrators or we would have remembered to check.

The hotel location was perfect for us. The bar had a great pub vibe. I was unable to give a perfect review for this reason…our first night while enjoying the bar I left my beautiful Afghan pashmina behind on the bar stool. When I inquired at the front desk the next morning another guest heard me and said she saw it on the stool for a while. Front desk said come back when the restaurant manager is in. I called later and spoke to the bartender who was the same from night before. She and another server claimed they knew the scarf I was talking about and they thought someone must have stolen it but they would investigate. Confused, I went to the bar to speak to the restaurant manager. She dismissed me. When I asked if they had they had video footage (I was already told they did) she said “no”. I demmeded answers and she said “i don’t do that you will have to speak to the hotel manager. They all knew how upset I was and after 9 pm there was a knock on my door. The bartender and restaurant manager brought my scarf to my room saying they tracked it down.

I will certainly not make accusations about where my scarf was but can say without question the restaurant manager was unkind, uncompassionate and unhelpful until she realized how offended I was at being dismissed by her.

I take responsibility for forgetting my scarf but someone who works in customer service in a management role must show leadership to those for working for her and this was not a good example.

Favorite Carlisle Hotel

We stay at this hotel at least twice a year. The location is perfect to meet with our Dickinson college classmates for events. We enjoy the bar and the restaurant (The Whiskey Rebellion). The front desk attendant is very accommodating and friendly (her name starts with a D, but I can't remember her full name). We'll be back!

The front desk employee, Darnell was happy to see me ! He made me feel welcome to Carlisle. He explained all of the site amenities when I checked in. I saw him at breakfast on Saturday and he remembered me. He asked me if my stay was going well. He is an attribute to this hotel !
