The room I was given was SHOCKING - and not in a good way!!!

Summary...

There were exposed wires hanging out of the wall
The mirror was off the wall and stuffed behind the desk
The mini fridge was frozen shut
There was a lamp with no lampshade
There was either mold or just plain dirt on the wall with the window and on the floorboards
The stopper in the sink did not fit - I THINK it was actually the bathtub stopper (which wasn't in the tub)
The toilet was oval but had a round toilet seat on it
There were what looked like cigarette burns in the blanket
Saw a cockroach in the bathroom

That is just the highlights...

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL!!!

I checked in very late so was stuck with it for the first night but, I assure you, that was the ONLY night I stayed there!

First night found a cockroach and by then end of our stay ants were everywhere. So much maintenance needed to be done. Covering exposed wires, putting tops on lamps, hanging the mirror back up instead of hiding it behind the desk. Put in a new toilet paper holder instead of leaving the old broken one up. Can’t even guess what the other piece of metal on the wall next to the sink was suppose to be for. Wall by window can’t even figure out if it just needed paint or replaced.

Excellent value for the money

This is a very good and serviceable motel. Rooms are clean and I got cleaning services every day over the weekend. Staff are friendly and helpful; I arrived early and they made every effort to get my room ready.
I come to Carlisle yearly and I will stay here the next time I come for certain. Excellent value for the money.
I think some of this motel's bad reviews are because they are based on their previous location, which was very run down. Great improvement since moving to this location.

Expedia should have a quality threshold on the places it offers. The pictures online made this place appear to be very nice, but in reality it was disgusting inside the room and throughout. I had to sleep in my clothes in a towel because the bed and pillows were stained.

Roaches in the room, bedbugs on the sheets, and meth heads hanging out in the lobby. This wasn’t a hotel, it was a nightmare. I left immediately. The manager brushed me off and told me to “call Expedia,” then ignored them too.

If you care about your health and safety, avoid this place like the plague.

I really thought this property would be ok to stay at. I’m not fussy but have my limits. The property has deteriorated and looks like it has never been maintained and updated. It appeared there were families living there. Next to my room was an abandoned car. I can’t understand why Wyndham doesn’t periodically inspect its properties. I decided not to stay and my money was refunded.

I have never had to give a bad review in 20 years using orbits , the description has always been correct.This is the worst hotel i have ever seen .
First none of the pictures on the site were actually accurate,then it was so dirty ,smelly and very uncomfortable we could not stay there. There are fleas, bugs, moths and other creatures roaming through the rooms, fluid splatters , animal hair everywhere.Windows so dirty you can not look through. Holes in the walls , hooks and fire alarms ripped off the wall. This hotel should be condemned and not offered on Orbitz.

They gave me a 1 bed when i requested 2. The hall smelled like pee and was full of bugs. Moths, mosquitoes and a fuzzy dotted bug i have no clue about. The same bugs were in the room. Carpet filthy and the bugs was all over. The tub was filthy also. I never stayed in the room. I returned the key after being told no one was available to clean it up.

I booked here for myself and my AUTISTIC toddler thinking Travelodge will be good as they have NEVER failed before. That was NOT the case for this place. They slapped the name \"Travelodge\" onto an old, run-down Super 8 motel. My first indicator should have been how poorly lit the property was. Additionally, the Super 8 sign flickered and the Travelodge sign didn't even light up. I actually passed the property initially because I didn't see anything stating it was the Travelodge property.
The customer service was horrible. One of the lobby workers was sitting with his BARE feet propped up on the coffee table when I checked in.
The room was even worse. The hallway going into where our room was located had trash bagged up near someone's room which stayed for multiple days. The smell from the trash was enough to make myself and child sick to our stomachs. The entire property was disgusting to the point that neither of us could even enjoy our trip due to us being too sick to do anything. (Not to mention it being highly unsanitary) Onto our rooms... The doors were warped so bad that it couldn't be closed or even secured properly (putting my family's SAFETY at risk). The ONLY reason I felt safe is because of my personal safety item. The room did not have a safe for said item (luckily I brought mine otherwise due to NOTHING being high enough other than a wobbly towel rack I was able to keep it out of my childs reach). In a non-smoking room though it smelled like smoke constantly.

My family and I booked here thinking Travelodge it'll be good not the case for this place. They slapped the name Travelodge onto an old, run-down Super 8 motel. The customer service was horrible. No where near professional. The room was even worse. The hallway going into where our room was located had trash bagged up near someone's room. The smell from the trash was enough to make my entire family sick to the point that none of us could even enjoy our trip due to us being too ill to do anything. (Not to mention it being highly unsanitary) Onto our rooms... The doors were warped so bad that it couldn't be closed or even secured properly (putting my family's SAFETY at risk). Non-smoking room, however, the smell of smoke permeated throughout our rooms. Half of the power outlets worked and were broken. The safes and microwaves were unsecured. The double paned windows were not double paned as the glass pane was resting against the wall. Both panes were plexiglass. The fire alarm in one room was disabled by not having a battery. The other room was totally removed from its base. the queen beds were sloppily put together, making it questionable it the sheets were even clean and only had one pillow on each bed. (pulled back one of the bed sheets and found sand (or dirt) towards the foot of the bed. the bathrooms had filthy floors and tubs. The toilet looked like it hadn't been clean in years. \"continental breakfast\" consisted of cold cereal and waffle made from a filthy waffle iron.

Dirty and smelly room,Bugs like cockroaches were moving on the walls and floors. Bathroom was dirty and uncleaned. The fan/Ac made such a noise the entire night as if I was trying to sleep in a factory.
The breakfast area is the dirtiest. I didn’t dare sit in that area. So, a normal person wouldn’t eat at that place. All in all, please don’t book this place.

The hallway smelled like smoke as soon as you walked in, the room smelled as well. The smoke detector didn’t even have a battery in it and was hanging open. The picture of the TV quality was bad. The towels were dingy and looked dirty. The curtains had paint splattered over them.

Could only do 1 night of 4 we had booked. So dirty and disgusting. We were sitting on the bed the 2nd day watching tv and a roach ran up and across the comforter. When I went to the desk, she said she knew bc a family was there a months stay prior and were dirty. Offered to move us to another room bug at that point said no way. She said she’d refund us when Expedia contacted them. Now they won’t answer communication attempts from Expedia for the refund. Worst hotel experience ever. Now they are trying to keep 3 nights of stay we weren’t there from us. Do not stay here at all costs!!!!!

Unfortunately when we drove up we noticed the hotel was in disrepair, the photos on hotels.com did not indicate this. The room was not acceptable, we spent a few minutes in the room discussing how we didn't even want to remove our shoes. The window was cracked and cloudy. Below the window the wall had mold and streak marks from water running down the wall with more mold at the bottom. The chair in the room was not usable the cushion was all puffed up I'm not sure from what. We decided to leave and drive to another hotel 30 minutes away. On our way down the stairs (no elevator) the stairs were giving way under our feet (spongy texture), we were concerned for our safety. When we left, the hotel clerk said to contact Expedia for a refund. When hotels.com was contacted they did not have the correct phone number for the hotel. A few days later we were informed by hotels.com that the hotel would not approve a refund and there was nothing more they could do. We had paid a premium for the the hotel $240CAD because of the car show in town. They really take advantage of people at this hotel!!! We felt sorry for those that needed to remain in Carlisle and didn't have an option to leave.

You get what you get for the price, but we booked 3 rooms, they didn’t even try to place us next to each other when they made up our room cards, parking lot was not packed and I could see the open rooms on the screen. The rooms were “updated” but not very well, the light switch in the bathroom you could see into the wall around the outlet cover, the smoke detector looked like they tried to hard wire a battery operated one in, no battery in it, the outlet box halfway behind and under the smoke detector you could see the wires in the box and the wire caps on them, tried using the test button on the smoke detector, it didn’t work. There’s a water stain in the toilet. The floor in the bathroom behind the door was sticky and had dirt and hair stuck in it. Someone saw a cockroach in the other room before we left. Part of the window was placed against the wall in our room, hidden behind the curtain. Like a protector or double pane to the window. The door to the hallway had a gap between it and the frame where it latches- someone could stick a flat item in between and jimmy the door open. Breakfast was, waffle maker, cereal, bagels, toast, OJ, muffins.

Overall terrible property, pictures are VERY deceiving. Place was disgusting, they definitely didnt clean the room. Dirt and hair all over floor. If youre looking to take a bath and shower all at once, this is your place cause the shower doesnt drain. I was standing with water halfway up the tub. Phone to call front desk barely works, hair dryer doesnt work, smoke alarm has no battery in it!?! Mini fridge has red gunk in it, none of the surfaces were wiped and they didnt replenish hardly any towels in room. I had to go ask for some... overall terrible

Didn't have a smoke detector and strange mold like areas on the ceiling. So turned off, that I didn't even shower in the place. Stayed one night, and that was one night too much.

it's a budget hotel, next to the super 8 motel, matter of fact, i think the same people managed/owned, both of them. i spent 8 weeks at the super 8 motel when i was working at Walmart, would've stayed longer, but unfortunately couldn't get the same price. the room i got was a bit of a mess, the tub was clogged, the television kept freezing during the football game, the room was very small, and of need of repairs, if i was staying a few more days, i would have asked to be moved, but since I was only there for one day, and it's was only 43$?something like that, it wasn't a problem.

The hotel was very convenient to the interstate we were traveling on. Upon check in our room had been put down as smoking and the lady at the front counter gave us a non smoking. Everyone was very nice. Its a little run down and you can tell lots of people live here full time. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Now on to the free breakfast. This is by no means a 5 star hotel, but if you're going to offer a free breakfast, at least put a little effort into it. A few slices of stale bread and a filthy waffle iron doesnt make a good breakfast. Coffee was weak and ran out. The only good thing was the orange juice. Just don't offer breakfast.

First impression:
The staff are very friendly and warm, very nice atmosphere in the lobby and family friendly. This review does not reflect poorly on them at all!!

For breakfast:
This is the first motel/hotel I’ve ever seen where they won’t allow you to take your breakfast to your room after you make it. This was a huge inconvenience as my husband has health issues and waking up and walking to go eat only happened one time the 5 days we stayed. And I couldn’t bring him his food because it was clearly posted near each food item not to take any food or water to your room from the lobby kitchen area. This also surprised me as my two young girls have been sick and I really didn’t want to have to walk them outside to go eat and cough around other people as well. In my own opinion, this is a huge inconvenience for a mother with two children and a sick husband who takes his breakfast in bed.

(I am assuming the food rules are relevant to the fact that this property has a major cockroach infestation, but because there are refrigeration units and microwaves in the rooms I find this rule to be a bit unfair and unnecessary.)

For the room:
cockroaches, broken bath plug, toilet paper roll holder is missing/broken, floors don’t look like they’ve been mopped or swept recently(sticky, ew??), food was on the bed liner from last guest, there were dead cockroaches on the edge of the rooms, the remote was filthy, a used box of tissues was still in our room, and the bath tub had hairs in it.

This place is used a living facility for people who are at the verge of homelessness. Staf is very nice and friendly but...breakfast is very very sad ...general condition of property is bad but room itself is ok considering price. For a lone road warrior it can do the job if remains cheap but don t plan a familly vacation stay!

This place is a true example of you get what you pay for....the beds felt like cardboard, the room had the odor of cheap industrial disinfectant, the toilet paper holder had fallen off the wall and was only half there and unusable, there was a fight going on when I arrived and had to bring everything out of my car inside to be sure it was safe. I will never stay here again....book at your own peril!

We had to wait 20 minutes to check in, got to our room and found roaches under the fridge and under the sink. I asked for new towels and was having issues getting them when i retuned our used. The cable kept going out and the air hardly worked. The only thing going was the room was remodeled. I would beware to stay there again.

Smoking room, bullet holes, and cockroaches!

This was the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. My husband and I showed up to check in and were not greeted kindly at the start. The gentlemen at the desk were hard to understand and we booked a NONSMOKING room with a king size bed. Once checked in, we drove our car around to the bottom floor room. My husband unlocks the door to our room as I stand next to our car to start unloading. He took two steps into the hotel room, ran out and slammed the door shut out of disgust. I looked up and got a horrible smell of cigarette smoke. Again, this room was listed as nonsmoking. We went back to the lobby and they were unable to give us another room and only offered us $25 out of our $117 booking fee back. I contacted hotel.com and the agent I spoke with was wonderful, friendly, and was able to give us a full refund! Once the employee got off the phone with hotel.com, he rudely took us to leave. The three gentlemen that worked in the front lobby were very unprofessional, the lobby smelled of smoke and they came up with every excuse why our room was not up to par. Meanwhile, the lobby had several “nonsmoking” signs posted and our room door had one as well. Another guest came up to us and said his room had bullet holes in the front door and a family a cockroaches in the room and he was unable to receive a refund. This place was disgusting and absolutely not worth $117 a night. At that price point, we were not expecting 5 star, however it should have been better than this.
