L'hôtel est très bien situé. Par contre, l'établissement est très mal entretenu. Il faisait très chaud dans la chambre, je suis donc retourné à la réception pour dire qu'il n'y avait pas d'air climatisé. On me répond que c'est un système central. Il y avait un ventilateur mais celui-ci était très sale. De la grosse poussière grise collé dans le grillage. Dans ce coin là, il y avait de la poussière là depuis très très longtemps. Donc, nous étions inconfortable dans notre chambre. Selon nous, l'hôtel est très mal coté, il ne correspond pas du tout à sa note sur internet. Très décevant.

Central location rooms are simple and clean. I had a decent window and the beds were comfortable. The staff are great. Breakfast is inc. good coffee. Other than they should steam clean their carpets more often in the front. Spice up the elevator it’s minutes from the metro, so it has a lot overall to offer.

Amazing stay, clean room and bathroom with breakfast included, staff was always warm and welcoming, they held our bags before our check in time and after our check out time which was awesome. My only issue was the crackheads outside and very close to the entrance of the hotel.

Quiet room considering it faced a busy street. No on site parking, we parked in the underground garage across the road which was easy to access and our car was safe there overnight. The rooms did not have independent climate control and the AC was roaring until late hours of the night. It was nice when we came back after dinner but we were freezing when we went to bed and I wore a hooded sweatshirt to sleep! Staff were wonderful ☺️

Staff were nice, everything appeared clean, room was good. Only heard neighbours a couple of times.

Elevator a little slow, but was busy during stay as it was F1. took the stairs quite a bit simply because didn’t have patience to wait.

kitchen area near lobby had coffee machine with regular coffee and lattes, bagels/bread, prepackaged muffins, with jams etc.

Would stay again if in the area.

The hotel was very well kept, and the staff was very helpful throughout my solo trip to Montreal. The front desk gave great recommendations on things to do and how to get around. It’s not a fancy hotel, but it got the job done. Breakfast was simple with muffins, yogurt, coffee, and a few other items, but convenient before catching the uber for my morning flight. The location was better than I expected (I wasn’t yet familiar with the “right areas”) and was easy to get to Old Montreal, Downtown, Chinatown, and Plateau Mont-Royal by taking the Berri-UQAM metro station (about a couple blocks away) or just by walking. The area felt safe. I’d definitely stay here again on a future visit!

Was not a fan of the fact that they did not clean our room every day - they did the first day when I was there doing work, however, the second day they did not and said that it was because I wasn’t there, which is weird considering that the other room in my party was cleaned and had towels replaced when they were not there

Great place for a short stay. Cleanliness in the bathroom was subpar, old pieces of paper were scattered under the sink. The sink and tub drain took ages to properly drain. Common areas arent clean, and the staircase was full of trash.

Rooms were perfectly fine overall.

My stay at the Econo Lodge was great! Firstly, if you are considering staying here understand that it is a budget hotel on a street with many other budget hotels. Across the street is a parking garage that appears to be indefinitely under construction. I have read some other the other reviews and they are laughable. The street is not sketchy, the rooms are old, but they are clean. The staff that I dealt with were extremely helpful, friendly and accommodating. This is not a 5 star hotel, it is a 5 star budget hotel!

The AC was not working. It's a centralized AC. Our room was really warm. We asked them to check but still no use. Like in the middle of the night they will send someone to checked the room. They provided fan which is way too noisy. We can't sleep comfortably. If you open the window, it won't help either cause it's also noisy outside. We stayed there for 4 nights. We asked for room service on the 2nd night to freshen up the room. When we got back from strolling the city, they just remove the garbage and provided new towels. The beddings is still the same cause the stains were still there. Pillow cases dirty with hairs. Floors still have food crumbs. And the location of the hotel, it doesn't seem safe to walk at night. They have free breakfast which is good. But the breakfast area needs attention on cleanliness. The drip trays for juice and coffee seems they never wash it. It's really gross.
The photos on the website was deceiving.

Room was small and clean. No frills but no issues either. There was no maid service during our stay. Breakfast had cereal, toast, yoghurt, muffins, oranges and apples. It was enough for our kids to get filled up.

The neighbourhood is a little rough, but I was pleasantly surprised by my stay. Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very clean (although the carpets could use a refresh), and the location was fantastic. Walkable to many cool neighbourhoods and really close to transit.

The rooms do not have any climate control, but they provided a fan which was helpful.

The breakfast is cereal, toast/bagel, yogurt and muffins with coffee and juice machines. The coffee is available all day which I appreciated upon check in.

I paid a total of $150 for a night. It's a very small hotel. The hallway with the rooms upstairs are so tight. There was no microwave in the room. Rooms are tight. For the price, I should have went to Holiday Inn. Breakfast was bread and bagel, only one toaster and microwave to be used by everybody in the hotel.

It’s an older hotel that is currently being renovated internally. The rooms are very well equipped and spacious, with a fridge, a comfortable bed, and a good bathroom, and there was no outside noise. However, we were uncomfortable with the air conditioning—it was very cold and a bit noisy, and there was no way to control it from the room. The parking is outdoors and there is almost never any space available, but there is a public parking lot across the street. I would stay here again; the services are in line with what you pay.

After reading all the reviews most raved about how clean the property was and that the location wasn’t the greatest. The location part was correct it wasn’t the greatest, our room on the other hand had stains all over the floor, the toilet paper holder, toilet and sink faucet were all loose and felt like at any moment they were just going to fall apart and our comforter had blood stains on it.

Next up is the building is smoke free but after our first night there when we were on our way down to grab breakfast the whole 3rd floor and stunk of cigarettes and weed and when we brought this up they said well our building is smoke free so we don’t know. That night we could now smell it in our room, and the following morning in the hallway again, when we brought this back to their attention they just said we had asked everyone on the floor and they said that nobody had come forward about it, well obviously not as there not going to admit to breaking the rules.

Even though they offered free cold breakfast, the room condition was poor. They had a fan available (No in room air-conditioning) which made it difficult to sleep. The walls seem like they were made out of thin paper since we could literally hear the people on the top floor entering their room and walking around. Thank God I brought a white noise machine to tune out all the noise. The staff at the front desk though was very nice but I cannot return to this hotel due to cleanliness and loud noise.

Hotel is in the slums, is run down and dirty- no idea how it has 8 stars on Expedia. Dark, old, rundown. Staff was fine but facilities were awful- so disappointing. Would have spent more to move to a different property. Abandoned building across the street, homeless people everywhere. Not somewhere you want to be after dark.

Staff so nice, will recommend where can we visit. Parking is opposite underground car park. Is not from hotel, can pay 10 hours or overnight. Breakfast with apple/orange/bread/ yogurt/water & coffee. But the only things I don't like is if you don't close the waskroom door. You will smell sewage all the time. And power cut off every night around 10 pm when we stay two nights. Just runs out couple minutes. But I don't expect it will happen in the hotel.

Stayed 2 nights in a 2 bedroom room (queen beds). Room was super small. Super thin walls and could hear vehicles, nextdoor room TV, hallway walking loudly. Floor was giving creaky sounds near the washroom. Something was up through the walls/pipes that was making loud noices. Hardly got any sleep. Washroom shower head was broken where only few jets of the showerhead was working. We complained at the front desk, but, the rsponse was they were fully booked. Breakfast was terrible, literally the worst breakfast we have ever had in similar hotels. I wouldn't ever stay nor recommend this hotel at all.

The staff was very friendly and even let us charge our phone by using theirs since we didn't bring any, my only complain would be that the room was cold, we found that the problem came from a gap that is located under the desk, there's was a lot of wind coming from the outside, so we had to put a towel to block the wind from coming in.

Great location, 24 hour coffee and drink machines, water and juice, snack style breakfast included (bagels, toast, cereal, yogurt and handheld fruit; apple or orange), beds were decent and clean

Con’s:
Heat controlled by hotel and by floor (not room controlled), no circulation in room but fan provided however, extremely loud to keep on during night, we were either too hot or too cold, walls are paper thin, could hear other guests above and beside talking and walking, no daily housekeeping, walls and interior doors of room were dirty, elevator was not working during 2 day stay

For what is worth, this place has everything you need and is conveniently located. Breakfast was pretty good as there was a bit of variety. Cleaniness can be improved as the hallway and room smelt funky (probably from the carpet). We had to crack open the window and leave the fan on for air to circulate the room, alleviating the smell. The location is a bit questionable but we still relatively felt safe and it was accessible to restaurants, the metro and bus lines nearby. Overall, it's a good place to stay for a few days.
