Misleading info and pictures.
Does not compare to the info and pictures on this website. We had to book somewhere on arrival as my wife would not stay there. We were told that the hotel not being nice enough was insufficient grounds for a refund.

This is an excellent, basic hotel/B&B. I was there for three nights and I had full maid service every day without asking. That is very unusual in my opinion. The A/C and water pressure and temperature are very good. The bed mattress is firm. The breakfast is basic but fine. The neighborhood is not bad, but it’s not the center where you likely want to be. Fortunately, Valencia has an outstanding public transportation system, which made it very easy for me to get wherever I wanted. I would note it’s a big city and it often takes more than 10 minutes to get places.

The hostal is very near the beach, well connected to the city Center. The hostess was so helpfull and the atmosphere of he hostal is so cozy. Theres is a kebab's place just downstairs and a minisupermarket at the next block.Valencia is such a Beauty city !! It is whorthseeing !!

Location was good close to the marina and beach. I was glad it had an elevator. Vending machine available. My room was close to the reception are. Walls thin that picked noise with their conversations. The room was very tiny. No space to open my suitcase. I had to use half of my bed to open it. Shower had no soap tray. Only a shower gel dispenser.

The hostal had friendly staff . The room was a three bed with bath but the square footage was small and on Expedia it was listed for 269sq ft . It was no where near that size maybe update the listing with the room size choice as it was misleading.
We did see a roach in the stairwell.
However the property area was in a location that at night had a few homeless people arguing and the cops were called to the scene . It’s a good walk to the trams and beaches. During the day different outside vibe than at night .

Pleasant stay
The location of this hotel was good, within walking distance to the port and a slightly longer walk to the beach. The hotel itself is small, with only a few rooms. Check in was easy, and the hotel staff gave me a key for the front door and a code to get past another door (if coming in past 11 pm). The room itself was clean and had enough space for a small suitcase, which was fine for me. It only had a few outlets and the bathroom was a little on the smaller/tight side. The a/c worked fine for me, and I was glad to have it. The bed was a little firmer than I am used to, but it was okay for a few nights. The small continental-style breakfast (bread/some fruit and coffee) was a bonus. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.

Exceptionally convenient and functional location. Excellent level of service. Very clean and cozy. The only inconvenience for families with small children is the noisy street. It did not bother us, but it is worth remembering. An additional option is a light breakfast included in the price. We would really like to come back!)))

I was skeptical in booking a Hostel for the first time but I loved the location and the place. The staff were professional and friendly. I only got to interact with Lorena. She was super helpful. Great place to book for solo travelers. if you going to sightsee the whole morning through the evening. 1. The hostel is close to transportation and bike rentals.

Good overall 2 night stay
Very solid hotel with decent amenities, comfy bed, free breakfast, and great location, thats overall a good value. However, be warned the wifi is terrible and did not work at all (in our room at least) and the walls are thin so if you have loud neighbors who like to yell or slam doors early on the morning then be prepared to deal with that

Very friendly and helpful staff and the hostel is in a great location. Only issues are the walls must be thin as we could hear our neighbours conversation like they were in our room and we were situated by reception, which is clearly a busy area. Definitely a great place to stay, just get a room on a higher floor.

We really enjoyed our stay at Balcon Al Mar. Staff were friendly and helpful, the location is great - 5 min walk from a tram stop and 15 min walk to beach.
The rooms are fairly basic but very clean and comfortable - the mattress was very comfy! Air conditioning is brilliant and wifi was free and reliable.
The shower worked well which is always important for me!
For a more budget place this was amazing, all the things that were important to me were great and would stay here again.

Great location! Very clean. Staff helpful and were extremely accommodating for our late arrival, even with a flight delay. This is a very good option for 2 or 3 people (we were a family of 3 in a room and it was absolutely fine)…A/C worked very well, free wifi, hairdryer in room.

Our stay overall was really cool. We arrived early, dropped the bags and got to enjoy sightseeing around. Hotel has really great view to Marina!

Smelly room and in bad neighborhood
The Hostal Balcon al mar is about a 15 minute walk to the beach so I thought it would be a nice place to stay on our one night in Valencia. Next time I will look for a place on the beach.
The area the hotel is located in is a bit scary. The entrance to the hotel is on a side street and does not look like a hotel entrance. The sign does not say \"Hostal Balcon al mar\" - just \"Balcon al mar\" so I didn't realize at first that was the entrance. Reception is on the first floor (up 1 level from ground floor). The people at Reception were very nice. When we got to the room the layout was OK but the room smelled from being damp & not leaving the AC on. The room had a balcony with a table & 2 chairs. We sat on the balcony & then realized the balcony next to ours was cracked & coming off the wall - that was the end of enjoying the balcony.
They said it was safe to park on the street but we didn't feel comfortable doing that so we parked in a public parking garage.

We stayed for 4 nights. Hotel staff very friendly and spoke very good English. Good location. But they kept forgetting to leave towels and soap in bathroom. Good aircon, but VERY damp smell in the room. Good value breakfast at €3 for continental buffet - but noticed the quality improved on weekdays, presumably when business travellers were staying.

We spent 4 nights here in May. The hotel is well situated for both the beach (10 min walk) & the city; the bus stop is just down the road & buses are really frequent. Our room was large & clean with a very comfortable bed and a good view of the Church across the road. The hotel is on the corner of a fairly busy main road but the double glazing keeps most of the street noise out & the air conditioning works very well. Breakfast is free on the first morning & 3 euro after that; it's great value & the home made cake is delicious! The staff are all very friendly & helpful.

This was our first trip to Spain and I selected this hotel specifically for the location to the beach and the balcony. I made sure I booked a room with a balcony and the reservation is confirmed as such.
When we arrived, our room number was confirmed and it was on the floor with balconies.
However, after a short time we were told that we will be given another room, because the ones with balconies are a little bit larger and they will keep them in case more than 2 people come.
I have showed them my reservation and requested the first room that they gave us, but I was told they cannot do that.
It was a huge disappointment and ruined the whole excitement of us being there.

Es ist so laut von der Straße, dass man kaum zum Schlaf kommt. Sehr, sehr einfache Unterkunft mit Gestank im Bad und Schimmel bei den Silikonfugen. Nur die Nähe zum Hafen ist ein Vorteil. Nicht zu empfehlen, selbst wenn man nur eine Nacht bleibt.

Es un alojamiento muy limpio , el ambiente es muy familiar y quedamos encantados con todo , se los recomiendo a todos, la playa está muy cerca puedes ir caminando , pero si no también puedes coger el bus porque la parada esta muy cerca , desde la estación de tren solo son 15 minutos en bus , si volvemos sin duda nos volveremos a quedar aquí.

Good but very loud.
It is a nice hotel room in a beautiful old building and the staff was very friendly. Unfortunately the rooms are very badly isolated. You hear the loud street pretty much and your neighbors enter their room you almost think they are standing in your room. It could definitely need a renovation with better isolation, then it would be a wonderful hotel.

bueno es una sorpresa de hostal, está muy nuevo por dentro , con cama cómoda, y baño muy bien, lo único que añadiría es algo para colocar los geles dentro de la ducha, y algún armario pequeño donde poder guardar las pertenencias del baño, está muy bien para pasar un fin de semana, lo único malo la insonorización de las habitaciones, nos tocó al lado de la recepción y se escuchaba todo incluso cuando estás durmiendo, pero por lo demás muy bien, una cama cómoda y grande ya que somos 2 personas altas y no se nos salían los pies, asique bien excepto el ruido, que estás durmiendo y escuchas a la gente hablar en la recepción ,(asique si viajas a dormir y descansar no lo recomiendo del todo ) toallas limpias todos. los días y sin problema para pedir lo que necesites
