This is a beautiful hotel situated overlooking the ocean. Lots of eating venues available at the hotel and in the Surrounding area. Shopping is also available within walking distance. The rooms were beautifully appointed the only thing that was odd was no plug-in in the bathroom for a curling iron and no mirrors close to the plug-ins in the room. The bathroom is equipped with a walk-in shower and a huge bathtub the food at the restaurant and lounges was plentiful and delicious. I highly recommend this hotel.

STAY AWAY. The Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin is infested with rodents. While having coffee in the lobby area we saw a mouse run through the room. We had booked 2 nights but only stayed 1 night Hotel manager still made us pay for 2 nights since we booked through Expedia (another night in HOTEL RODENT, I don't think so). And then Expedia said ther was nothing they could do. Why in the world would I EVER use Expedia agin???

We had a very nice view over the sea. We did find some hair in the bathroom but all together it was clean and comfy.

They couldn’t find find our reservation at check in, and made things much harder than they needed to be.
Staff told me there was a shuttle to the site I needed to visit. When I tried to get it the next morning, I was told there was no shuttle that day. I was promised a taxi in 10 minutes - it took 30 to arrive. This made me late for a meeting. I was not impressed with the level of service in general.
We tried to eat in the restaurant, but abandoned the attempt after 10 minutes of not being noticed by waiters. Instead we tried room service - the rare steak I ordered arrived in a reasonable time, but was substantially over cooked. I would call it well done.

Amazing place. Wonderful views of the ocean.If you go, pay the extra for the seaside view. Well worth it. The amenities are first class. Food was a bit pricey, We ate at the restaurant at the beach and the food was great. We were there off season (if you consider end of August off season) but there was a 35mph wind on the beach so an indoor pool was a necessity. Hours are a bit short and there were numerous children in the pool. A quiet, adults only time would have been great. Room was very luxurious with a great shower. The next morning we discovered our coffee maker was broken, and they sent up coffee right away. Great service.!

Das Zimmer war ausreichend groß und praktisch eingerichtet. Das Frühstück war sehr gut, aber vom Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis für 35 Euro nicht befriedigend. Der Service und die Freundlichkeit des Personals waren im ganzenHaus hervorragend. Negativ fielen beim Frühstück die vielen kleinen Portionspackungen auf (Marmelade, Honig, Butter). Die Restaurants im Haus sind gut, aber verhältnismässig teuer.

The stay was good. Just the expectations with the staff was weird. We left for a beach walk and the bell boy wished us safe travels home. The guy at the reception was not friedly and his behaviour was scripted. I have stayed here before and never experienced this. The standard seem to have dropped. When checking out no body even asked us how our stay was.

Mooi statig hotel op top locatie, maar interieur van kamers en rest van het hotel is wel echt verouderd. In de Spa werkte helaas alleen de sauna, stoombad was kapot. Ruim een maand van tevoren probeerden we te reserveren voor het restaurant, maar was al volgeboekt. Zou goed zijn om ook tafels voor hotelgasten vrij te houden. Verder hebben we het heerlijk gehad, maar op basis van deze punten vonden wij het niet de 5 sterren waardig.

Für ältere Menschen besteht die Möglichkeit mit einem Fahrservice zum Breakers zu gelangen, was wir mit meinen Eltern letztes Jahr sehr gerne genutzt haben. Hier denkt man mit.

Die Zimmer waren absolut sauber. Vielleicht schon ein bisschen in die Jahre gekommen. In dem Strandhaus des Hotels war es in vier Tagen nicht möglich einen Tisch zu reservieren, was etwas schade war. Dafür war das Frühstück absolut top und wirklich alles dabei, was man sich vorstellen kann.

Tolles Hotel mit toller Lage und guten Service, nur das Badezimmer müsste dringend renoviert werden. Tiefe Kratzer in der Badewanne und ein kaputte Fliese auf dem Boden entsprechen keinen 5 Sternen (auch nicht dem „Hundezimmer“ für welches wir schließlich Einen Zuschlag bezahlen). Die Türe zum kleinen Balkon war so undicht, dass der Wind die ganze Nacht durch die Fugen gepfiffen hat, Ein Dichtungsband würde hier Abhilfe schaffen. Die Minibar ist nur mit „Paketen“ befüllbar, fanden wir eine komische Lösung, da die angebotenen Pakete nicht dem entsprachen, was wir bestellt hätten.

Huis ter Duin is een 5-sterren hotel. Het heeft grandeur, maar het is ook gedateerd. Bij binnenkomst op de kamer rook het iedere keer apart, een soort zweetgeur van oude schoenen. De badkamer was verouderd, schimmel op de kitranden en haren op de badkamervloer die niet van ons waren. Het bed was goed. De bank had zijn langste tijd gehad. Kortom voor een korte break leuk (2 overnachtingen). Verder hadden we zeezicht geboekt, dat maakte veel goed. Voor landzijde zou ik persoonlijk niet het hotel boeken, want dan zie ik niet de meerwaarde van dit verouderd hotel, aangezien de prijzen per nacht toch prijzig zijn en niet inverhouding staat met hetgeen je krijgt aangeboden.
