First thing be prepared to wake up at 7am with a construction site across the street and the hotels windows having zero sound proofing . Hotel on the surface looks good but is extremely rundown and is in desperate need of a renovation. Nothing in the rooms works from the plugs to the thermostat to the door locks . The room isn’t cleaned properly. Not even toiletries are left like lotion or a shower cap . Even the rooftop advertised is a restaurant that closes after breakfast . So the only place to go is a tiny lobby lounge area . Hotel staff is not very accommodating with complaints

Great location

Check-in was great, Osher was very friendly and made really great suggestions. The hotel is perfectly located, you can’t beat it. Breakfast was good, served at their rooftop restaurant. Heads up for Saturdays, they do not serve espresso drinks on Shabbat, which I didn’t quite understand, because most everything else was as usual.

My only complaint was the wifi was down for more than half our stay. It was not a hotel issue, because it was down in the whole neighborhood.

We came in and out twice,in 18 days. Street to hotel is narrow and difficult to get into hotel. Lots construction in immediate area.Best to explore the beach walk,lots rr with wonderful local dishes try them,all food in Israel is wonderful,we spent 18 days of exploring the whole country. For convenice include breakfast,also have breakfast at beach,a must.

The cab service is called \"get\" give them your crdit card amazing service.

As I read all reviews before booking, I can attest that the hotel does have excellent breakfast and comfortable beds. Aside from that, the elevators are tiny and I had a problem with my stroller fitting. Traveling with stroller age babies is not recommended. The rooms are outdated and very small. Not very family friendly but a nice option for couples. The hotel is close to the beach and food. I would not give them a 5 star rating but a well deserved 3 .

We had a lovely stay in a corner 7th floor suite with great views of the sea. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. Only complaint was on stormy days something about the window design let in air to make a steady loud pitched whistle which made sleeping challenging, especially in smaller bedroom . Otherwise perfect.

The breakfast buffet was fabulous. An incredible array of foods and it actually changed significantly each day. Congratulations to the chef! The dinner options were a bit limited however. I would have liked a chicken dish and more meat options. Service was always attentive and considerate. The gym was quite impressive for s relatively small hotel. I had an executive suite and I would only comment that kitchen ware was a bit limited. No ice cube trays, no wine glasses (although I was given two when I checked in they were taken away and never replaced), and nothing you could use to heat up food in the microwave. I did not see any evidence of ecological concern. For instance, all sheets and towels seemed to be replaced every day (?). No notice or instructions to suggest otherwise or that you could ask for your sheets not to be changed. The common areas of the hotel were overly air conditioned and cold and I kept wondering about the unnecessary use of excess electricity. But by and large it was a very comfortable. The hotel is well located and it is easy to get on the beach and walk into the city from the promenade on the sea. Better directions to local tour buses might be provided. Thanks to everyone for a good stay.

Located just of the beach and about 30 - 40 min walk to Rothschild area but worth the walk.

The room was nice and spacious,but i had trouble with parking and elevator.
We paid 30$ per day for a very small space(hard to park) and every time we wanted to leave or enter, i had to go to front desk at least 3 times back and forth, for them to open the gate.They would tell you ok but when you go to the gate, you see it closed (and same thing happened every single time.
Also when my family all (parents plus 3 young kids)stepped to elevator, it crashed and we got stocked between 2 floors for about 15 minutes in extremly hot weather untill they sent someone to open the door.when i complained to front desk,all they said was that max capacity is 3 people.i told them how people are supposed to know that if there is no sign?
the next day they put up signs by elevator that said max 3 people.

Maid in Tel Aviv?

Great time at Alexander but quirky flaw was maid service. Obviously language or communication issues since had almost daily misunderstandings. Asked for 3 extra bath towels and received 3 extra bathrobes! Explained we were taking 2 showers a day and wanted 5 towels, they always removed the extra towels even if we hid them! Also had feather pillows replaced with foam due to allergies and they kept replacing back to feathers! Humorous but exasperating. Still loved hotel and 3 rd time with family vacation there and hopefully more in future.

My experience

Generally speaking, I found our stay at the hotel good. Luba/ Lunda was by far the best, attentive, willing and very very friendly. However, on my arrival staff appeared to not want to be there and where more focused on streaming the web. On a few occasions the short receptionist was dissolve and not willing to help. He often had his safety bag on and seemed preoccupied with other issues.

Gym: the gym was perfect the only thing I would add would be for the air conditioning machine to be switched on.

Bar: was lovely and had no issues.

Room: lovely room very clean but staff cleaning the rooms were often very loud next door or in the corridor.

Breakfast: layout was good friendly staff but some additional training would be good. For example, when arrive staff should ask your door number followed by whether you want a cup of tea or additional omelet etc.

Dinner: staff could be more attentive to staff and watch out for guests. I had to physically get up and walk to reception four time to get staffs attention.

Overall the hotel is lovely but some improvements with staff training would be good.

Hotel was nice. Close to the beach but towards the end the board walk. Room was spacious but constant bad smell coming from our bathroom. Breakfast was ok. Upset about not getting anything cooked on Saturday due to religious holiday. Paid extra for breakfast. One other thing that upset us was there were pictures of a roof top pool, but then come to find out that is only for the main suite. The best part about the hotel was gym, which was excellent.

My family and I loved the hotel and location. The updated rooms were spacious, clean and lovely.
The breakfast buffet was perfect for my grandchildren. Being so close to the beach was wonderful.
While I loved the hotel I am really MAD at Hotels.com. I was under the impression when we paid on-line for two rooms, it included the 4 children staying as well. We had two studio rooms with 2 adults and 2 children in each room. Upon checkout from the hotel, they charged me an additional $400 for 4 children. I was under the impression I already paid for them. If that wasn't the case, it wasn't made clear to me during on-line booking.
I'd really like to have you refund me the additional $400 I had to pay.

OUTDATED - RUDE STAFF - TERRIBLE VIEW!

Remarkably rude, round woman at the front desk! Completely indifferent to the guests and their needs and almost seemed like she was going out of her way to not help guests.

Online photos of this hotel are from 10+ years ago - not recently. Hotel is in poor shape now - very tired and rough around the edges - feels like it is from 1997. Breakfast buffet was limited and poor quality - started putting food away 15 minutes before the end of breakfast and seemed surprised when I said something.

My partial ocean executive view room looked onto a horrible sand pit/construction zone next door. When I complained, I was told that \"I got the room I booked\" by the woman at the front desk - felt very taken advantage of given that I paid more just for the view and that their website said nothing about this sand pit view/construction issue next door. Eventually, I spoke with the General Manager who moved me to a better room but don't make the same mistake I did and find another hotel in the beach zone - tons to choose from. The Alexander Hotel really soured my trip to Tel Aviv - boo!

Terrible hotel and staff is not friendly or accommodating at all. The rooms are outdated and we had issues with our AC - we got back to our room one night after dinner and our bed was damp - hotel couldn’t fix it and the only other room available was a serious downgrade. Food is by far the worst I’ve had in Tel Aviv.

Most reception staff were pleasant and helpful.
Room was adequate, but lounge area was bigger than the bedroom. Thought it would have been better to have a larger bedroom. Ensuite was OK, but water from shower flowed onto floor. Occitane products were a very nice touch. They should purchase new vacuum cleaners for the chambermaids!
A special mention should go to the restaurant staff, especially OP Friedman who lit up our mornings & couldn’t have been more pleasant.
It would be helpful if you were told that the restaurant doesn’t serve hot food on Saturdays, but the Shabbat cakes were a nice touch, thank you.

I've stayed at most of the spa hotels in Israel but I keep going back to the Alexander because the staff is very kind and caring--customer service is very important to them. It shows in the way they offer refreshments if there's a line to check in, to special requests which are cheerfully accommodated, to the amazing breakfast at the rooftop restaurant with a delightful view of Mezzizim Beach. A good attitude makes a huge difference, other hotels should take notes from them! I love this place, they make me feel at home.

We had a very nice size one bedroom suite. The temp of the hotel and room was perfect. Breakfast was fresh and served to order. Service and staff where so kind. The hotel is clean and very well located, however services are very lacking. The beautiful rooftop pool that is pictured so predominantly in their marketing is only available to the person staying in the penthouse suite, and not to other guests. The room service never answered the phone during my 12 day stay. After 3 different time of trying to call and order things, I stopped trying. The front desk does not exchange money at all. The people who worked there were very polite, but never went out of their way to help with anything. I missed the extras that I come to expect when I travel. If you need a clean, comfortable place to stay, you are good... but don't look for any additional services.

Nice hotel in a great location

Stayed at the Alexander last week. This hotel definitely has its pluses and minuses. Lets start with the positives. It is in a great location about 100 yards from a nice beach, near hotel row, the port with good restaurants and a few blocks from Ben Yehuda and Dizengoff Streets where much action is. The facility itself is pretty nice, with a great workout facility and very good breakfast upstairs, as many others have stated. Now the negatives. The staff is hit or miss. Some are very nice and accommodating and some act like they are doing you a favor just being there. Some requests will be honored and some ignored. Unfortunately, this is the Israeli way (I have been to Israel many times and that's how they are). We had a number of issues with our room (ac doesn't have an auto...its either on or off, so the room was either too cold or too hot) and they did fix most of them in a timely fashion. The ac caused a water drip in our room which they fixed. Shower door wouldn't close all the way, but we dealt with it. If you have a problem, try to meet the owner (Tania-very nice), the Manager (Hezi-very nice) or the asst Manager (I believe his name was Lulu). All in all, worth staying there as the price is right and it is in a great location. Just go in expecting some apathetic staff and some issues in the room.

The garage is pathetic and they could use a better concierge service to instruct people not familiar with the area. ON the face of it it was not a bad choice, recently refurbished, a touch garishly, fairly close to the centre. What could possibly go wrong?
It goes wrong when the service is awful and when staff lie barefaced. For example, during my stay on 8-9 January 2017, which is winter time in Israel and well outside the sun-seeking tourist season, the hotel was practically empty. I had cause to extend my stay by one day so I rang reception. They agreed but a few minutes later the reception clerk tells me the price would nearly double because it is \"the last available room\" and the hotel is otherwise fully occupied! This was so belated and blatantly untrue but obviously done to squeeze a few more dollars out of a tourist.
Another example. On checkout the clerk beckons me and starts dealing with the forms and then starts serving another customer and forgets I am standing in front of hime. Only shouting seemed to work as he seemed bereft of the ideas of proper queue, courtesy or service.
Last words, beware of the two pairs of glass doors at the entrance. Their actual use and direction of movement are highly arbitrary. You would have a chance of 1 in 4 of discovering without injury which door is locked on the day and in which direction it might be inclined to open. Do not expect more than a shoulder shrug from the doorman and the young female receptionist.

I had really high hopes for this hotel, but right away it was a let down. There is no parking for this hotel unles you pay for it. There is a parking lot half a block away, or the hotel has a tiny lot but it's expensive. There was no door man to help with bags, the room cleaning services were spotty at best and the hotel did not have any air conditioning, so it was terribly hot in the rooms.
The best thing is the location, it's right off of the beach, and there is shopping and restaurants nearby. I think that this hotel was very expensive and definitely not worth it.

Good option in Tel Aviv

Great breakfast and front desk service, especially Ms. Sandra and Mr. Gabby: very helpful and courteous. Good breakfast and dinner/bar service at rooftop, Spacious and comfortable room, good shower and bathtub, but rooms with front view (side to the beach) are also noisy because all windows/balcony doors are not sound proof and there is a lot of traffic at the main avenue. Beach is very clean, nice and with bar service, great to chill out. Easy check in and check out.

An excellent hotel, mostly great staff in particular Hannah. Lovely breakfast on the roof terrace overlooking the sea. Highly recommended.

Nice Hotel. Rude and Irritable Restaurant Staff.

The room size was great and comfortable with excellent amenities. It was disappointing that there are no balconies and a request for a sea view room was not granted so the room overlooked the back of another apartment building.

There is a wonderful rooftop restaurant/bar for relaxation and breakfast, but the host for the breakfast there was quite rude and aggressive when I simply requested new coffee pods for the in-room coffee-maker for which he wanted to charge me (and the restaurant was not even busy).

Also beware that the cleaning crew knocked only once and then entered the room, despite the \"Do not disturb\" button turned on outside of the room (this happened more than once). Overall, it was a nice stay in a great location near the beach, shops, restaurants and water sports.

Great place, my favorite part of the beach, so location is perfect. Only thing is the web site info shows a pool. Only a few room have access to it. False advertising.

Nice small hotel, fair on value - go!

Excellent size suite facility, quiet room, nice lounge / entrance, friendly staff, great breakfast, would return again, very fair value, good wardrobe space, kitchenette and bathroom facility......would be nice to have a small pool, jacuzzi on roof !!!!!

Between excellent and very good

I have a very ambivalent opinion about this hotel. On the one hand, the rooms are very spacious and comfortable, the location perfect for the purpose (attended a conference nearby at walking distance) as well as for relaxing on the beach (it's literally 2 mins. Walk!). The breakfast buffet and the menu were delicious and the roof top a delight. On the other hand, it turns out that the pool featured in the videos and fotos is accessible to the presidential room only, the staff, while very friendly as individuals and at times extremely helpful, seemed not well organised and issues that may have been agreed upon with one staff member in the morning was totally unknown to the one in the evening and the whole story had to be repeated again! The staff members always reacted diligently and helpfully if they felt you were in distress, but the overall impression was a bit chaotic. Unfortunately i had no time to use the Spa!
