The hotel needs a remodel. The room looked very outdated with a grimy carpet.

We booked a one-night stay for New Year's Eve for well over €300, and the hotel restaurant refused to serve us even a simple dinner because they were making more money serving customers who had pre-booked their sold-out New Year's Eve 5-course dinner that we were not interested in. The New Year's breakfast buffet was @ €30 per person, which was way overpriced for a nothing-special standard buffet. For the money we paid, we should be able to expect a better stay!

We will not return!

Flower parade chaos.

We stayed for the flower parade and it the perfect location for it. We enjoyed dinner and breakfast at the hotel as well as swimming and the children’s room. A few things to note:
We were travelling with bikes on the roof and were told “no problem we’ll be able to use the underground car park” you can definitely not get in the car park with bikes on the roof. A large gazebo was set up in the car park so we couldn’t use the parking spaces in front of the car park to park up and take the bikes off the roof. Though we found a way around this I wasn’t told I’d then need a room card to open the bike access to the car park! Despite having gone into reception they didn’t tell me to check in first and get the room key. Which lead to a very frustrating 30 mins.
On the day of the flower show hotel guests were not allowed in the front of the hotel as there were dignitaries and sponsors (I presume) using the hotel lobby, car park with marquee and a bar that had been set up.
When we came back in we wanted some drinks and were sent to the bar which was cordoned off for the dignitaries. It was clear we should not have been there and should have been shown back into the restaurant where we could’ve easily got a drink. It was chaos basically and I feel the staff were not properly trained or briefed on how to manage guests who were mostly freely coming and going from the breakfast area.

This is a nice hotel in a lovely town, just a short stroll to shops, restaurants and a beautiful beach. On arrival we were given our room earlier than advertised which was a great start. We had paid extra to have a balcony in our standard room. Unfortunately that balcony gave a view straight out to a busy Construction site. Reception insisted this was what we booked and that this was as advertised. This is not true. No-one would pay extra for a balcony overlooking a building site but they were unwilling to accept this and were not understanding about why we were disappointed. They said this is advertised on their website but we booked through Expedia. We paid for an additional upgrade and got a lovely room but it was a disappointing start to our stay. Our new room was lovely, clean, bright, modern and spacious. We really enjoyed breakfast at the hotel too. All in all a lovely stay after paying for another upgrade.

Welcoming hotel with friendly staff. We arrived early, from the ferry, at 11:00 and they had a room ready for us. This allowed us to park straight away and explore the area, lots going on as it was King’s Day.
Room spacious and clean, I read that the TV is connectable to your device so you can use your own streaming services.
Water is hot and plentiful and an Infrared lamp in the shower.
A mini bar package can be bought to stock your fridge.
Complimentary tea and capsule coffee in the room.
We had a late ferry on check out day and it was okay to leave the car all day after we’d checked out. We hired cycles from the hotel on our last day.
Brilliant hotel and area, plenty of local food and drinking places within easy walking distance.
The beach and a handful of beach clubs with excellent food and ambiance are also within easy walking distance.

Great staff especially check in. Gave us a nicer room when I mentioned that Expedia did not mention construction view rooms. Easy parking, great location, comfortable rooms and nice spa. Everyone was super helpful. Lots of very good places to eat close by. Recommend Copper for dinner (across from hotel), and Tulum for breakfast (20 minute walk on the beach but worth the effort). Nice shopping street around the corner.

This place was located within a 5 minute walk to the beach with access to many restaurants and shopping. The pool and sauna were great! They provided a nice touch with providing us chocolates and a box for each kid that contained shampoo, conditioner and body lotion! We would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful hotel with classic luxury that doesn’t look like a carbon copy of every Hilton or Radisson Blu out there. The arched doorways, the beautiful wallpaper, are all details that make this place memorable and special. The staff were wonderful and so helpful.

Disappointing Stay

I recently stayed at the Hotel Van der Valk in Noordwijk, with my family, and while the exterior of the hotel looks quite appealing, the inside tells a different story. The rooms are noticeably outdated, with carpets that appear worn and dirty. To make matters worse, we found a dirty diaper on the small balcony of our room. When we reported this to the reception and asked for someone to clean it up, the staff shockingly replied that they don't handle such things and seemed unfamiliar with the concept of a dirty diaper.

We booked a family room, which was supposed to be one of their more spacious options. However, it was disappointingly small compared to family rooms we've experienced at other Van der Valk hotels. On a positive note, the hotel's restaurant was very nice, and the service was commendable, though the prices were quite high. Additionally, be aware that parking comes at a steep 25 EUR per day.

Overall, while the hotel has a promising exterior and a great restaurant, the dated rooms, lack of cleanliness, and inadequate customer service were major letdowns. There are better options available in the Van der Valk chain.

Everything in this hotel was very nice, however I did have one problem with the cleaner as one day the room was not cleaned properly. I was a bit upset that the cleaner stated my husband had told her not to touch anything (and this was not true), however I was very happy the the staff did take my compliant very seriously and ensured my room was always cleaned to a good standard. We were also offered a free lunch which was a nice gesture. The hotel is spacious and with a beautiful interior. The breakfast staff were absolutely AMAZING, very kind, friendly and patient with my children. Also the night staff were very helpful and always smiling and happy to see us.

Very good facility. Suprised with the quality and excellent service. Full size gym in the basement of the hotel is available. Hotel is not new, same as the gym, but well maintained and clean. From the negative observation - on the -2 level or -1 where the pool should be located, there is ongoing construction and facility is not available and was not presented at the checkin and on the offer website. The room is spacious and the bed is super big and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and will come back next time. The beach is stone away from the hotel. The shopping street is just behind the hotel within a few minutes walk.
The swimming pool is a bit smaller than usual hotel pool but it's warmer due to the size.

This is the second time that I've stayed here. Both times were great. Great hotel, staff are well trained and attentive. WIFI is amazing. Rooms are big, bed a little hard, but the bathrooms are great shower room and bath. Perfect. Great value for money. I know it was out of season, but price was great.

There are mostly good but I have bad experience with this hotel stay and staff was responded without responsible. I brought a cake and wanted to store in the Fridge to cut in the evening but Fridge was not working and I called them to fix, in my 2days stay they didn't try to fix and on top of that they asked me to keep in their fridge in the reception. Not even asked for excuse for this.

This was my second stay at the hotel, I arrived late at night. As soon as i got in the room I went to the bathroom and realized there was a very strong smell of urine. The toilet was clean however the small was coming from the air ventilation system just above the toilet. I was tired because of the late arrival hence I went directly to bed, however this was not pleasant. I believe they could have changed the room nevertheless this incident should have not happened considering the number of stars and the room cost.

Good stay overall. One issue with taxi that the lady at reception kindly booked for us as the driver sneakily stole my card details and charged me over 500 euros days after I left. I have contacted the taxi company to sort the issue out but I would hope you selected better partners for your guests!

Overnight Business Stay

Arrival, you head down to a secure well lit car park. Heading into the elevator, you then go to a large open reception, bar and restaurant area, overlooking the front of the property.

A warm reception greets you, followed by an informative check in. Friendly, polite, professional.

The room, spacious, great to have a balcony to sit out at, next to the roof terrace... A comfortable living area, and nice large bed.

Nespresso machine and plenty of pods always great to see when travelling, and working hard.

The bathroom had a large bathtub and a spacious shower enclosure. His and Hers sinks always make a bathroom feel special.

The food in the restaurant and wine were both delightful. Perfectly cooked was the only description for my scrumptious meal.

The pool area, sauna and steam room were perfect for relaxation.

The gym in the hotel was among the best Hotel gyms I have ever been in. Spacious, well equipped and private.

I would definitely stay here again when next in the area.

My stay started a bit rocky as we arrived at 2:30 a.m. as we drove from Frankfurt, Germany (5 hr drive). When we arrived there was no one at the desk, I called the hotel multiple times and no one answered, and I rang the intercom at the door multiple times. I had called ahead twice actually to let them know it would be a late arrival (once when I thought originally about 10pm, and again when I thought after 2am). I was exhausted as my spouse and I were also traveling with a 2 year old. Other than that rough start, our stay was wonderful. The location is fantastic, walking distance to the beach, and a short drive to Keukenhof. Our room was nice, the bed comfortable, the toddler crib was perfect for my child, everything was clean, and styled nice even down to the paintings on the wall. The shower and bathtub were perfect for our family. We were also lucky enough to be on the 5th floor with a balcony and our view was lovely. We ordered breakfast, which was expensive (19.00 euro per person), but WELL worth it. My husband is more of a foodie than I am, and we were both equally impressed (so was my 2 year old who devoured everything I would let him). They also have a play area on a lower level my son was enjoyed, and a pool that sadly we didn't have time for. I would gladly stay again.

March stay in Noordwijk's Radisson Blu hotel

I had stayed in Radisson Blu Palace Hotel for few nights in the beginning of March 2018. In general, hotel was rather good: clean and cozy. Room size for 4-star hotel was rather small when compared with other similar hotels in the area (it was my 6-th trip to Noordwijk over last 10 years). It will also will be nice if at least 1 or 2 electrical outlets will take North American plugs, even at 220 volts, but it was a very minor inconvenience. What was more inconvenient - breakfast. While hotel had offered a selection of different foods - I can say that its quality was quite average, when again, compared with other 4-star hotels in the area: some hot entries were rather cold and stale, porridge with cereals were also not very appetizing; however, breads and cold cuts were quite good. Hotel stuff was very friendly and accommodating. Sauna and pool were good too. However, it will be nice if hotel had long towels in sauna room to wrap thyself after swim or shower; putting robes in rooms will help too. Another thing worth mentioning: an excellent room's shower with side jets, steam and eucalyptus oil vaporizing.

Nice hotel. I spend two very good nights. Nice facilities. I just wished I had taken my swimsuit to enjoy the pool, etc... On the other hand, I had a treat with the shower. I will never forget this hotel because of the shower: 3 buttons, 6 minutes wait and all the spa treatments at once in your bathroom!

Your Room Could Be Located in the Basement

While the hotel itself seemed nice upon entering, our room was technically in the basement. What you don't see in the pictures, is the backside of the hotel which is where our room was located. Be aware that there are several basement levels and the elevator might take you to a -1 floor, but there is at least decent light from the windows. The room itself was decently sized, but there were stains on the wallpaper above the bed and the shower jets were noticeably dirty. During our trip we also stayed at a Hilton, and at a boutique hotel and this by far was the least impressive hotel stay.

Very Nice Hotel Close to the Beach

We stayed here for two nights at the end of a three week trip through The Netherlands, France and Belgium. It was chosen for it's convenience to Schipol Airport and the tulip fields near the Keukenhof Gardens, not to mention the large beach.

Only one minor gripe. We had requested a front-facing room with a balcony, which we got. It would have been nice to be able to open a window though, as the room was a bit stuffy. The balcony door wouldn't stay only slightly ajar and there was no openable window.

Despite the rain

Had to spend the night in Noordwijk and chose the Radisson Blue because of previous good experiences elsewhere. Were upgraded (!) to splendid double with great bathroom, comfy double bed, separate lounge area and masses of storage space.The breakfast spread was the best we have recently experienced anywhere and we travel a lot! It was a Saturday night and the price was quite reasonable. Staff were very efficient and helpful.

A good place for 'time out'

Overall, a nice place to stay near the shore. The room was a little awkward with 3 doors opening into each other and a large TV cabinet. Great staff, good food and comfortable. Hotels.com overcharged me for breakfast - confirmed me for one occupant but charged me $40 extra for 'breakfast up to 2' people. The hotel was unwilling to correct this. Something that should be worked out between the two companies.

Short walk to beach. 15 min taxi ride to Keukenhof gardens. Only thing rhat let our visit down was that Receptionist (not the friendliest) would not let us use computer to check in for flight. No access to computer in hotel. Most other staff were friendly and helpful.

Disappointing and boring hotel

This hotel, which market itself as a spa hotel, is simply a boring and un-personable conference hotel. The so called “unique Aqua Centre” consists of a small and cold splash pool, a couple of saunas and at our stay three empty and dirty whirlpools. No robes or slippers are provided in either the room or the spa area. The towels which there are plenty of for you to use are simply handtowels. Perhaps that is why there are so many :)

We made the mistake of booking a Deluxe Room. The staff was very understanding of our disappointment of our room and informed us that some Deluxe Rooms have such poor locations and standards that they should really be in their own budget category. Unfortunately the hotel was fully booked so we were not able to pay for an upgrade which they advertise on a big sign at reception. We were offered drink tickets as compensation which was a nice gesture. We never ended up using them since the hotel bar and lounge was completely dead and depressing at all times despite the hotel being fully booked. It says a lot of a hotel when all guests of such a large hotel want to spend as little time as possible on its premises.

Fortunately the hotel has a great location even though it’s slightly off the beach. So you don’t have far to go when you desert the hotel along with all its other guests.

Nice clean hotel

We had the superior room, which was very spacious. It had a separate bedroom. The rooms were divided by an arch. Plenty of storage and 2 tv's.
We were with our son and had to pay Euro 45,- extra for a roll away.
If you have a car, be aware that you have to pay Euro 22,50 per night for the parking garage!!
Overall it was a pleasant hotel, but the extras add up.

Choose somewhere else

I was traveling with friends. Upon arrival two of us were very disappointed with our rooms and had to request a change. The view was of a parking garage and a tractor! My one friend almost got kicked out after talking with the manager and requesting a room change. They tried to charge me 45 euro a night for a cot for my 4 year old son who was supposed to be free. We squeezed him into the baby cot instead. The staff were non-existent and not very helpful except for the cleaning ladies. At the end we realized we had all come down with a rash! Must have been from the detergent on the sheets or the soap. I would not recommend this hotel. Next time going back to the Van Orange or renting an apartment.

Flower Parade and upgrades

We were pleased that we were given a complimentary upgrade to a jr. suite. It was lovely and we especially enjoyed the balcony when the flower parade was happening in front of the hotel. It was a beautiful weekend with a lot of festivities in Noordwijk.
Most importantly, our bed was very comfortable and the staff did everything to make our stay enjoyable.

Impressive hotel very close to the beach

The staff were wonderful and could not have been more helpful. We had an enormous room overlooking the sea in fact I think they must have upgraded us without even asking. The hotel is on top of everything and it was a very short walk to a most beautiful beach.

Old Grande style hotel that needs looking after, good size rooms, prominent position, bus stop outside goes straight to airport or nearby rail stations. Pleasant breakfast included. Good sized lobby.

2 day bulb tour

This is a very convenient place to stay to visit the bulb fields. However, The Palace is a large over-priced hotel. We stayed in a delux room which was clean and a good size. However we overlooked the car park and had to pay 22 euros a night to park the car and there were no kettle/coffee making facilities in the room. On request I was told I would need to upgrade to a superior deluxe room for an extra 35 euros a night. Other hotels in Noordwick looked a better option.

Great hotel near the coast

The Palace Hotel was a great hotel. Very clean and comfortable. It's better than the pictures online. It's close to many restaurants and shops near the coast. It's within a close distance to Keukenhof and the bus to get there stops right in front of the hotel and it only costs 5 euros plus you can buy the entrance tickets on the bus. Public transportation is good and it takes about an hour to get to Amsterdam Center, but the hotel is better for a coast stay and to visit Keukenhof.

We felt the hotel was overpriced for the price we paid for our stay. We booked an executive room with sea view including breakfast. Nothing noteworthy about our stay. We have stayed at nicer hotels for less cost. I would not recommend or go back.

Comfy, clean and good location.

Hotel was good. Staff were mostly very helpful and polite.
Disappointed that all rooms did not have tea and coffee making facilities as we thought however the hotel did supply us with a kettle when we asked.
Breakfast was acceptable but nothing special. Very nice breads and rolls but the 'hot breakfast' was not 'hot' and was uninspiring.
The hotel appeared to be very geared up to catering for large coach parties and corporate events.
Swimming pool was clean although very small and the pool room lacked atmosphere.
A good feature is the secure on site car park although a charge of more than 20 euros per day is unecessary.
Location is good, less than 5 minutes walk to a superb flat and safe sandy beach that stretches further than the eye can see, a good selection of restaurants and bars and pedestrianised shopping street.

Good for those visiting ESTEC

Have visited Noordwijk on a number of occasions for work at ESTEC, this is the first time I stayed at the Palace Hotel and I would stay again. I particularly liked the sauna shower, as did my colleagues judging by the conversations we had!
