The Osney Arms is a terrific place from which to explore Oxford. The rooms are small but quiet, clean, comfortable and have everything you would need. The breakfast is outstanding, with many healthy options and thoughtful touches. The guest house is also just a 15-minute walk from the train station. While the manager isn't on site, he replies quickly to any questions. I enjoyed my stay and found it an excellent value.

For a wonderful old house everything was clean and easy. Room was very comfortable and quiet. We were able to park on the property and walked about 1/2 mile to dinner in the evening. Felt fairly safe walking back at 8pm.

For the price it was excellent. Room was as good as any hotel. It’s not luxury but it’s great value. I stayed two nights while dropping a child off at university. The location is excellent only 5 mins walk into town centre.

Communication about checking in was really helpful, the breakfast set up looked really good although I chose not to eat as it was provided at the conference I was attending. I had a kettle for drinks in my room and the hosts kindly left a packet of gluten free biscuits for me because I let them know my dietary needs. I was upgraded to an ensuite, having booked one of the only rooms with a shared bathroom. The bed was so comfortable and the set up in the room was good. I had reservations before my visit, but after staying there once, I would definitely visit again when next in Oxford.

Though the guesthouse is unprepossessing from the outside, inside it’s a different story. The rooms are comfortable, spotlessly clean and with welcoming tea, coffee and biscuits. There are no staff so access is coded, but easy and secure and there are clear instructions (admittedly only in English) everywhere.
Breakfast, again self-service, was first-rate with plenty of choice, including fresh fruit.

My room on the top floor was small but perfect for a single guest, the bed was comfy with a choice of pillows, and a kettle and fan were provided in the room, plus lots of free biscuits. The bathroom was shared but only with one other room, and it was huge (and everything was scrupulously clean). The buffet breakfast was well thought through with a nice range of options, including coffee machine and herbal teas, a selection of dairy and plant milks, and a range of cereals (with clear allergy information). The self check in was smooth with clear info provided. Would definitely stay again.

The carpeting in my room needed to be cleaned - to the point where I didn't want to walk on it in bare feet. The room is in desperate need of new paint. Quirky, slightly chaotic DIY guest house converted from an Edwardian pub. Once we got used to the self-service breakfast in the communal dining room, we found it a really comfortable stay. There's everything you could want for a continental breakfast and a really good coffee machine, With full access to the kitchen it's ideal for heating up an evening takeaway or even cooking a meal. Bitlab, the proprietor was around in the mornings and always helpful.
Although our room was almost straight onto the street at ground level, which was slightly disconcerting to start with, there was very little traffic noise (more from other guests actually). Decorated to a good standard, you get the feeling that it was fitted out from an auction house. Nothing matches, but so what.
Oxford is the city of bicycles, so come by train or be prepared for park and ride and lots of walking. Don't rely on the four parking spaces at the property! But you can also hire an electric bike or even an electric scooter.

Outside of building misleading. Inside is clean and light. Our double ensuite had a view over the street, was clean and well equipped. Lots of hot water, radiators that can be adjusted, comfortable bed, tea making facilities. Very happy considering the price we paid. Breakfast was ok.

The property was across the river from the main part of Oxford. There was construction near the bridge; however, it was clearly marked. The walk was several blocks away from restaurants and shopping. Upon arrival, my room was cold, so I emailed the owner, who appeared within an hour to bring an electric heating unit and to turn on the house's heat. The breakfast was self-serve with coffees/teas, fruits, pastries and cereals. All guests ate at the same table which encouraged conversations with people from other cities/countries.

We had a spacious room, which was great. The continental breakfast options were also great. The interior (and exterior) is in need of a very deep clean and paint refresh. It is looking and feeling worn out and tired. Adding to all this is the need to declutter, especially the dining room and kitchen. It was well located.

We arrived early and were greeted by a very pleasant young man who gave us our key and was apologetic that the room wasn’t quite ready. As it was only 10.30am we were delighted to be able to leave the car, use the bathroom and walk into Oxford. The location was great if you are traveling by train as it is walking distance from the station. The property could be really nice with just a few upgrades, however the carpet and bathroom felt a bit dingy. The sheets and towels were of nice quality and very clean. This place is a guesthouse. This means you’ll share a bathroom and other common spaces with other guests. Had a top floor room. Shared a bathroom with four other rooms; this bathroom had no shower, but a shared bathtub. The place was fine and serviceable if you don’t mind the shared arrangements.

The room we had was on the front of the building. So road noise was a bit of a problem. Not sure if some of that was due to the fact that just up the road the were major water works going on. The bed was comfortable. Like most hotel and guest houses in the UK. It was a little run down and could do with some tidying up.

Be aware the owner isn't on site and you use a key box to enter property and find your keys labelled, but with all the other guests on the table inside. There is also a basket of spares in the same room and in the kitchen so room security not guaranteed. Car parking is limited to 4 spaces. Owner was helpful when I wanted to leave car til evening of departure day. plenty of choice for continental breakfast with good dating food hygiene labelling. Even more so there was good ingredients lists on everything.

Very helpful upon arrival and at breakfast time. Lovely spacious room and very clean. Great location for a short flat walk into the town centre.

To start with, I didn't receive any check-in instructions. Once I managed to contact the hotel staff, my key was left on the dinning table in a room accessible by anyone, so in the meantime, anyone staying at the hotel could have gotten into the room I was assigned. The room was very dirty and the bed had a blood stain of 5cm of diametre. The window couldn't be closed because both the window and the frame were severely damaged and I felt very unsafe given that the bedroom was on the ground floor. The hotel staff changed me to another room, allowing me to take a key from a wooden box in the dinning room that anyone had access to as well. This new bed had another blood stain of another 5 cm. There were also lots of dead flies and spiders in the window frames. The hotel staff said they would refund me one of the nights, as I didn't want to stay an extra night because of the above, and after doing my claim through expedia they said they won't refund me. Expedia hasn't been very helpful either as they have ignored my claim after submitting all the photos as proof. I would completely avoid this place, they are scammers.
