We will be back!

Great location. Excellent breakfast included in the rate. Quiet. Comfortable.
But be aware if you have mobility issues or heavy luggage, there is no lift and the rooms are on the third and fourth floors.
We will definitely stay here next time we are in Leuven.

One night stay. Room was double booked.

We arrived to check in to discover that the proprietor had made a mistake and given our Comfort room to somebody else. The only other room in the hotel was a Standard one. However the proprietor offered us a self catering apartment just a very short distance from the hotel. This was very comfortable and didn't spoil our stay at all. The proprietor and all the staff were very friendly and helpful.

When we arrived builders were erecting scaffolding all over the front of the building. It was difficult to get into the hotel due to the lorry parked in front of the entrance. There is no lift in the building so you have to climb up stairs which are quite narrow and with carpet which is not secured. We were shown our room on the 1st floor which was had a strong damp smell. We complained to hotels.com who did little to help other than to say to contact the hotel manager. When we complained we were offered another room on the top floor. This was secure and did not smell of damp. However the room had dampness in the bathroom, the furniture was badly stained so we could not place clothes on it. The double bed had been laid with single sheet on a very old and worn mattress topper, which we did not want to touch with our skin, do we slept that night with our under clothes on. At breakfast was the only highlight - lovely freshly baked bread. All told a waste of €100 at a hotel I could never stay at. Hotels.com should remove it from their website and refund our money as what is shown is nothing like the reality - dirty, dingy, dangerous and dilapidated.

Located in a great area of Leuven, the hotel looka nice from the outside, however it wasn't necessarily that clean of a room. It was a bit frustrating that I had to climb to the 4th level for my room, however they did warn about no elevator. The stay was nice, and Leuven is a nice town to stay in

Just stayed there one night (had flight in the morning from BRU). Great for a one night stay. It’s basically across the street from the Train Station. Easy walk to historic centre and lots of dinning options. No a/c which meant that I had to leave the windows open. It was a bit noisy with traffic and people on the street making noise.

There are other places in the area to stay

The ladies greeting you when you arrive seem annoyed that you are distracting them from their restaurant job. The stairs to the unit are long and steep. They could be a problem for many people, but the gentleman who helped us check in was quick to proactively offer to carry our luggage if we needed. The room was very dusty and dirty. This may be in part to the window needing to be open in order to get air circulation. The room setup is nice, but the air circulation is a problem because the sounds and smells from the street outside can be quite strong. These ridiculous tourist charges are not the properties fault, but the lack of transparency on them and the constant raising of them is an annoying extra that isn't explained and is off putting. The location is great, but there are many other properties in this area and some of them have to be better, but if you stay here it won't be a disaster, just not as pleasant as you would hope. As the property feels disorganized and most staff are not customer oriented.

The hotel has a highly convenient location across from the train station. Breakfast was nice & the rooms have the basics needed for any traveler. The building is older & sound insulation is a bit lacking. So, stick to reading to avoid disturbing your neighbors but expect to hear them whenever they flush a toilet.

Fantastic location, right in front of the train station. Rooms are spacious, clean and well-designed. There is no kettle, but I knew this and bought my own! As mentioned by others, you have to climb up some steep flights of stairs. Not an easy task if you are less mobile or if you have heavy suitcases. I was on the second floor and had to climb up 4 flights of stairs.

Breakfast was simple and tasty. The same could not be said of the dinner I had in the Café. Pricey and bland.

Service (from all parties) was excellent and friendly. All in all, a great stay.

Okay, apart from the sewage smell.

It's an old hotel but the room was okay. The only negative thing I can point was the really bad sewage smell in the room (not coming from the bathroom). I slept with the window fully open during my stay and I could still smell it. The bed was comfortable.

Good Hotel Next Door to Leuven Station

Hotel Industrie is steeped in history; it used to be a cafe to which factory workers came for a hearty meal and the cafe itself is still a popular restaurant.

The hotel itself is an old building but the maintenance is good and the room and bathroom have definitely had a modern makeover. The only potential issues are the lack of an elevator (not suitable for anybody with heavy baggage or people with movement difficulties) and the heating can take a while to get going.

Still, they have extremely friendly and helpful staff that will do everything in their power to help you have a good stay. We were there for only one night but they allowed us to leave our baggage their so that we could pick it up later.

All in all, very happy with the stay, as the value for money was excellent and the lodgings and breakfast are exactly what one needs. Good option for budget travelers or those looking for something close by to the station for business purposes.

Hotel Industrie is a good value, no frills hotel where the room was quite dull - varying shades of brown. It scores because it has its own cafe/bar/brasserie which is open to the public. It is within easy walking distance of the shops, restaurants and bars and spectacular buildings around the cathedral and Oude Market. We had problems locating it - that seemed to be down to a temperamental sat nav and possibly user error, but once we found it the parking arrangements were very handy. It is very close to the rail station for those not driving.

The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was simple and decent. But the room condition was not great. The floorboards had protruding screws, the privacy screen on the bathroom window was missing and was not replaced. The property has no elevator. It was tiring getting in and out of the hotel every day of our stay.

I'm glad that I didn't have a lot of luggage as I was on the top floor & there was no lift. The (single) room was quite small, though perfectly adequate for my needs. The bed was extremely comfortable & there was a very good TV in the room. Maybe a kettle with coffee/tea in the room would have been nice, though the complimentary bottle of water was nice.

The hotel staff were very helpful & friendly. The location is excellent for arriving by public transport.

Due to my unplanned stay for business, I've had chance to stay three different rooms. All I can say is that it completely depends on which room you get. I had problems about the shower for two rooms. I've booked a room with city view but it was a room that is facing another building. However the last room was really nice. Wi-fi was good. Hotel is very near to city center and also there are lots of different restaurants to eat and drink. Hotel also has a restaurant on ground floor which is very nice. Breakfast was ok. The people that are working there were also nice and helpful. Since it is a old building, there is no elevator so you have to carry your luggage to room.

Staff very cheerful and helpful. Couldn’t do enough for you. Breakfast was superb. Excellent value for money. Only downside was the 76 steps we had to climb up to our room! Not ideal with luggage. I like to think I am in reasonable shape for a 60 year old? But some people would struggle with that hill climb.
But overall. Very good and great location near to bus and train station. Also nearby 24 hour secure parking for €10 is pretty good these days.

This is an old fashioned and rather basic hotel in need of an update. However it is well located opposite central station, offers low priced rooms including a decent breakfast and the staff are very friendly. The brasserie is good. Road noise in early morning is a problem so bring ear plugs. New windows would help. Overall this hotel delivered what I expected.

Cheap hotel, a bit on the sad side

Hotel was a bit sad. Bathroom was cramped and plastic, shower tray was blocked. Located close to the railway station, 10 mins from the lovely city centre. Noisy buses from early in the morning, no chair to work at the desk, and an uninspiring breakfast in the rather lovely looking cafe. The staff were very friendly.

The hotel was comfortable for my short stay and convenient access to my business location. Parking is available nearby and only a sort walk to the center of Lueven where many restaurants can be found or just visit the places next door. The room was clean and comfortable for a short stay. Would prefer more amenities if staying for more than 1-2 nights. There is no elevator so if you are not able to climb several stairs you should look elsewhere. Check-in is located to the rear of the cafe and is the same location where breakfast is served. The breakfast included scrambled eggs, bacon and typical meats, cheeses, fruit and breads which were tasty. Overall, a pleasant stay.

Very convenient location right in front of the station with lots of restaurants nearby. Staff was friendly. Cozy, old-fashioned atmosphere but the room was redecorated modernly. As everyone says, there is no elevator. Plus the bathroom is very small. Bed was queen but fitted with two single-sized flat linen. No fridge. Free water. Otherwise a good convenient hotel for the price you pay!

This is a great place in a good location, next to the train station with trains to Brussels and elsewhere, on a major square close to Leuven city centre, being remodeled from an old industrial building. Room is of a good size, good breakfast is complementary, hosts are helpful, room is nice and clean, it suits me perfectly and I wish I spent more than one night here rather than booking a similarly priced bugs-infested hotel in the centre of Brussels for a couple of other nights. Perhaps, one problem is lack of an elevator, and the rooms are all on upper floors, but as long as you are able to climb up, this is a perfect place for a trip to Belgium.

For the price this was exceptional! Nice cool style. Very central to the railway station a squares with restaurants. Good wifi. Only thing that I can complain about was a slight smell of mold in the bathroom. The bathroom had no ventilation which explain the moist issue. But this is probably the local way to doing bathrooms...

very good stay if you are on or a tight budget

this was a one night stay with a low budget available for the trip where location and price was the most important aspects and the place did very well. I didn't had any high expectations when I arrived. The building is old and is clear the owner is updating it at a slower pace.
The room geometry didn't allowed a very efficient use of space but there were new on-suite toilet and bathroom fittings. The bed also had a very comfy mattress. Position of the TV was not that good if you wanted to watch from bed, but if one would need to do some work, there was a desk with a comfy chair.
The breakfast was included in the rate of the hotel and although choice was somehow limited, it was fitted to my liking, very good and tasty.
wifi was free but in the evening forgot to ask for the password so had to wait for the morning.

Atendimento simpático e prestativo. Quarto e banheiro espaçosos Toalhas muito boas. Serviço de quarto básico, todos os dias. Cafe da manhã bom, pães, frios, suco máquina de café. Localização boa, bem em frente a estação, um pouco barulhento a noite.
Nao tem elevador. Ficamos no 3 andar, subir várias malas nas escadas, é bem desgastante! No geral, recomendo sim.

Dit hotel zit in een mooi pand te midden van meerdere horecabedrijven. Ons bijhorende appartement zat 100 meter hier vandaan, dus voor ontbijt even een klein loopje, maar dat was prima!
Vanuit hotel was het dicht bij het centraal station waar je ook een fiets kon huren.
Avonds wat het fijn om als afsluiting nog gezellig een drankje te doen op het terras.

Die Zimmer sind klein, wir hatten die Nummer 10 in der zweiten Etage, mit Blick auf den Platz vor dem Hotel. Ein Fahrstuhl gibt es nicht, also bei Behinderung gibt es Schwierigkeiten. Es sind 54 Stufen bis in die zweite Etage. In den Betten schläft es sich gut, die Beleuchtung ist ansprechend und das Bad sauber.
Gutes und abwechslungsreiches Frühstück mit verschiedenen Brötchen, Brot, Toast und Cerealien.
Auch Ei in verschiedenen Varianten, kleine Bratwurst oder Schinken (alles warm).
Reichhaltige Auswahl an Getränken wie Saft, Milch Kaffee oder Orangensaft.
Von der Unterkunft sind alle Destinationen zu Fuß, mit Bus oder Bahn gut erreichbar und alles nur 5 min entfernt. Ratsam ist für den Bus De Ligjn (gelber Bus) Zehnerkarten über eine App (in deutsch oder englisch) buchen ist günstiger, kostet nur 1,70 € pro Fahrt. Nutzbar für eine Stunde Fahrt, gilt aber bis zur Endhaltestelle. QR-Code den Fahrer zeigen, dann kann die Fahrt erfolgen.
Gute Verbindung zum Atomium in Brüssel. Fahrt mit dem Bus Nr 90 in Richtung Brüssel Nord und in Rogier aussteigen. Weiter mit der Metro Nummer 6, aber vorher eine Fahrkarte für 2,60 € kaufen. Alles gut zu finden. Karten können mit EC-Karte bezahlt werden am Automat, welcher auch in deutsch ist.
Besucht die Altstadt in Leuven die es sehr sehenswert und auch die Kirchen und die Bibliothek.
Die Preise in den Restaurants sind gewöhnungsbedürftig, also für unsere Begriffe etwas teuer. Kleinigkeiten bei Aldi oder Lidl kaufen.

Service was generally ok with the staff mostly friendly. The maitre d’hotel ( at less he seemed to be) was extremely friendly and helpful.
Being so close to the main Leuven railway station the location is perfect for train travellers.

The hotel’s decoration and the general infrastructure is in dire need of renovation and modernisation.
The room was dark and dreary and there was an “old carpet” smell throughout the entire hotel.
The bed’s matrice was very very soft, the softest I’ve ever slept on. If you like a super soft bed then this is good for you (e.g. if you don’t already have back pain).

There is no lift so beware if you have difficulties climbing many stairs.

Breakfast was usually in the hotel’s own restaurant, but for our first breakfast the restaurant was closed and we were asked to walk outside and around the corner to another restaurant for breakfast.
Unfortunately we were given the wrong opening times & breakfast was finishing at 09:00 am when we arrived. We managed to collect a few morsels & coffee just before they cleared the breakfast away. At least the coffee was excellent, if not the food.
Subsequent breakfasts were served each morning within the hotel itself. The food was “ok”, but the coffee was awful. The background music during breakfast was largely heavy rock and very loud, though it was strangely amusing eating breakfast to the overly loud tones of “Stairway to Hell”.

Not the most modern, but good service.

Not the most modern hotel, rather \"vintage\", but offers good service at a reasonable price. Conveniently located opposite the Leuven railway station, and at a 10 min walk from the historical centre. I usually stay here when I have business meetings in Brussels, as Leuven is much more pleasant compared to Brussels. By train it takes 15 mins to Brussels airport and 25 mins to Brussels centre.

Voor de aller eerste keer in een 1 ster hotel wezen overnachten. Ik snap niet waarom dit maar 1 ster heeft, het was echt top! Normaal ben ik van luxe en verblijf ik altijd in minimaal 4 sterren hotels.

Wij zaten op de tweede verdieping, prima te doen. Super dichtbij de oude markt, erg schoon en een heerlijk bed.

Je kan een parkeerticket kopen voor slechts €10 per dag, dit is veel goedkoper dan het parkeertarief. Er zat gratis ontbijt bij en dit was echt heerlijk! Heerlijk vers brood en lekker beleg. Mijn ervaring was echt top!

Excelente localização. Excelente pequeno almoço e cortesia de proprietários e funcionários. A pedido foi disponibilizado um secador de cabelo (um bom secador). Edifico quase centenário, o que tornou a experiência diferente, por isso não tem elevador mas para nós não foi problema nem novidade . Da mesma forma também não foi novidade a água quente demorar a chegar ao terceiro andar conforme descrito por outros hóspedes, mas dado à época do ano, achamos normal. Depois até era quente demais. Pena o WC não ter melhor ventilação ou aquecimento. O espaço do restaurante é super acolhedor e sente-se que tem história. Percebemos que tinham outros quartos de nível superior em decoração e conforto o que numa próxima estadia podemos conferir e solicitar up grade.. De uma forma geral superou as expectativas. Obrigada

De badkamer is klein maar voldoende. Matrassen zijn aan de zachte kant. Ontbijt is in orde (voldoende keus).Zeker een aanrader voor een kort verblijf.

wij verbleven op de 3de verdieping. geen probleem maar het hotel bezit geen lift, dus iedere keer 6 trappen op. de kamer was echt schoon, gordijnen hingen niet correct op de haakjes wat erg slordig stond. Ook het op en afstapje om in bed te komen was voor ons niet fijn. Als je zoals wij iets ouder bent en nachts regelmatig naar het toilet moet is dit een minpunt. In de badkamer was weinig comfort, nog geen haakje om je handdoek of kleding aan op te hangen terwijl deze ruim genoeg was.

Not coming back. Stinky smell

The room smelled horrible, the whole time. It didn't matter if I opened the window to air the room, it ALWAYS smelled bad. Breakfast was good. No lift in the building and I had my room in the last floor. Check in was slow. I'm not coming back.

Great place to stay in the city center

Hotel with a great value. Friendly staff, you feel like in the comfortable armchair. Delicious breakfast, spacious rooms, comfortable beds, parking nearby with a lot of parking places (dont’t forget to ask for a discount ticket).
