Okay place but nothing special

Very nice staff. Clean. Good size room. Nice breakfast.

Overpriced for what you get. Premium price for average to slightly above average everything. Very firm mattress. Unable to control temperature of the room. Not a very good location for accessing Leuven centre. It was just kind of plain. If I compare to places that are half the price the things are marginally better but not worth the price increase.

The staff were friendly and the room was clean with a comfortable bed. The hotel is a 15 minute walk to the centre so not that convenient. The road was noisy as was the Stella factory outside, The small bar was nice but there was no lounge for guests to relax and the rooms are small for relaxing even though I had an executive room. I did not eat at the hotel so cannot comment on the food.

Really uncomfortable to sleep in the room, the temperature in the lobby area was way more better than the temperature in the room. I went to the front desk to report it and their answer was not the expected stating that the air conditioner does not cool as a normal A/C unit.

We had a comfortable stay. The room was cosy and suited our needs perfectly. The beds were comfortable, and both the room and bathroom were clean and well-maintained. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and we would consider staying here again.

Despite Novotel being a renowned hotel. Customer service was non existent. Despite knowing AC doesn’t work in a room, we were still given this room on the hottest day of summer. They offered no solution or help and said it was out of their hands. Basic amenities you would expect in an European country not even being met. Paid full price for everything, and yes was given less than half of the service that’s expected.

I keep on staying here and it’s a best average but very convenient. The front desk staff at check out are less than helpful telling me that at checkin they didn’t take the correct deposit amount. I’m checking out and trying to pay the full amount, yes but you didn't pay the correct deposit. This was your staff at check in correct?, yes but you didn’t pay the tight amount. Useless.

You can do better!

Really needs an overall service/staff and breakfast wise. The teams are not motivated and hard to find, the breakfast for the price is simply ridiculous. The hot food is stone cold, the bacon looks boiled and the scrambled eggs have been cooked until any moisture has been removed.
The rooms are decent, good shower and the beds are comfortable.
Price value isn’t right and never has been at the Novotel in Leuven, they make a lot money from InBev head office and don’t see the need to changer, sad.

Ignore the free parking offered by the hotel. There are only maybe 6 spaces on a road layby in front of the hotel. You will need to use the underground parking which is 24 euros /day. And this will charge everytime you take your car in and out

The room was a nice size, and the beds were comfortable. When we arrived at 2 pm for check-in, they told us it would be another hour -- the hotel was fully booked, and housekeeping had gotten behind. But they were able to let us in at 2:30 pm, so it really wasn't too bad -- they were very apologetic. It's a short walk to the train station and bus station, and Oude Markt and Grote Markt are about a 20-minute walk. (You can also take one of the city buses for 2 euro -- but I'm not sure how late or frequently they run. There's a restaurant and bar at the hotel, and it is essentially next door to the Stella Artois brewery, if you're interested in doing a tour there. Overall, my husband, son, and I had a comfortable and pleasant stay.

Rude reception staff, no willingness to make the wrong right, beds not made up ready on checkin, tissue box empty in bathroom, soap empty, not enough towels in room, not enough cups for coffee and tea.

Basic rooms, convenient location next to train st.

The hotel is conveniently located close to the train station in Leuven (if being to the train station is important for your trip), but despite it's \"Centrum\" name is a good 20' minute walk away from the center of Leuven.

The staff of the hotel is pleasant and service was excellent.

The hotel seems to be in a rather industrial area with views of the Stella Artois Brewery and of another industrial side on the other side.

For the price and the Novotel name, I honestly expected a bit more from the rooms in this Novotel Centrum hotel.

Saved by the air con

There is free roadside parking if you get there early, otherwise there is a underground car park with limited capacity at 20 euros per day. Staff were helpful, wifi very good, breakfast and dinner also very good. I was there during an August heatwave and I can confirm that the aircon is first rate - thank you! Also a very good shower. Easy walk to the city centre and it is a city well worth visiting. No reason to doubt the cleanliness, but there was a strange smell of drains each morning.

The only thing I was disappointed with was that there is very limited parking in the car park and on the street. We had to go park 5-10 minutes away from the hotel. Late at night it was inconvenient.
I found the staff to be friendly and accommodating.

It was overall ok, the bed is not comfortable and the reception was not accommodating when we arrive .the hotel was noot booked and we had to wait several hours to check in.
I had small issue with a lady at breakfast when i arrived close to 10am not knowing that it does close at that time because we told at arrival breakfast stays all the way to 11am instead.
She was very rude her boss very friendly and accommodating.

Lovely hotel, friendly helpful staff, good location, short walk to the centre of Leuven.
Drawbacks, the mattresses and pillows were not good so none of us slept very well. There was no information provided about breakfast so we had no idea if it was included or not. Each morning there was breakfast provided but no staff to check your room number or advise. We had breakfast at the hotel and on checkout we were asked if we had breakfast we said yes and we were charged €21 per person per day which was too expensive for the quality of the food provided.

The front desk staff were very nice on check in and check out. We stayed in a family room, which was very cramped with 2 kids beds. If we'd been there longer than one night it would have been very uncomfortable. The bed and pillows were very hard and there is only awful instant coffee - one sachet of normal and one of decaff in the room. This really lets Novotel down.

Lack of response to a request. In our room, which
was facing the west, the air conditioning wasn't
cooling the room even when set to maximum. We
requested they check to see if something was
wrong but they never came to our room or notified
us that the problem was fixed.

Toilet separate from sink. To wash hands you need
to go from the toilet to the bathroom. The positive is
that you don't have the smell in the shower room.

Booked for weekend away. Nice hotel. Typical Novotel - room clean, beds ok, great onsite parking and good breakfast. However, Central? It really isnt. It's a good 10-15 mins walk into the centre - not a problem in itself - but it's located on the ring road and is actually about 100 yards from a end of city limits sign!! But it's a nice hotel and again it is only 15 mins from the main squares etc in town. And Leuven is a great place

Had two early starts before the breakfast bar opened to a great take out breakfast was supplied.

My view was of the Stella Artois brewery which was great because I had planned to take the tour. It's about a 10 minute walk to get to the start of the brewery tour, to the train station or to the old town. The hotel staff are all really friendly, the rooms are nice & clean and the food in the bar was tasty. I would absolutely stay again.

We booked a room on hotels.com which was confirmed and charged on my card immediately. But when we arrived at check in they told us that all rooms where already booked in the whole city for some weeks (because of a music festival that day). But hotels.com kept on confirming rooms to the clients but not to the hotel and we were already the 3rd client with such a case. After the festival at 4 o clock in the morning we returned to the hotel to pick up the luggage we left there. Then they told us that some rooms got cancelled and that we could stay for the night (until 14:00). Very friendly and helpful staff at the reception!!!

Modern, pleasant but a few things are missing

very modern and pleasant hotel with light colored furniture which also made the room lighter. Comfortable bed but the duvet was quite hot. I was able to open a window. Hurrah (except then you hear the traffic). the room has a separate WC and bathroom! More than enough electrical outlets! What I missed: a morning newspaper in English (a 1-page summary of USA Today is insufficient), a wash cloth, conditioner, body lotion. I chose this hotel also because it has a fitness center; alas it was only open at 6 am.

Hotel was clean, tidy and the gentleman on the front counter was very helpful , went out of his way to answer all our questions. Shower was awesome , bed a little firm but this is personal preference. Short walk into Leuven, about 40 mins by train/bus to Brussels. Train station about 15 mins stroll away. Hotel restaurant and breakfast ( pricey €20) good selection. Would definitely stay here again.

Stopover in Leuven

Overnight stay for business in Leuven. This hotel is located close to the rail station and not far from the old town centre. Unfortunately it is on the town ring road and one side suffers from traffic noise. The hotel itself is outfitted in the modernist Novotel style, clean and well maintained. The rooms are reasonable size, well appointed and the free internet option provides reasonable facilities for most work purposes. A standard small bar and restaurant are available and provide reasonable facilities, a decent choice of food options and service is friendly and efficient. Being a semi-light industrial area entertainment immediately locally is limited but the historic centre of town is not far and easily accessible on well lit streets. Overall a good safe choice for those on a budget with decent car-parking facilities if required.

Good hotel - shocking food.

Rooms and hotel generally were fine.
BUT - evening meals were terrible - the worst I have ever had in Belgium after 40 years of visiting. The bar staff had to be sought out - always busy doing something else.
Eat out if you can!

Stopover on way to Austria. Arrived very late and night staff were very efficient in checking in. The room was very clean and comfortable, the only downside was the lack of tea and hot chocolate. Breakfast was very good. The view from the room of the Stella Artois brewery may not be the most attractive I have ever experienced but not a big issue for one night.
