Great location of the property, in the middle of Leuven’s city centre. That was probably the only positive.

The website for the apartment said there was lockers at select locations. This was not a location with lockers nor did they have anyone on reception before 3pm or after 8pm.

The room was a lot smaller, in fact completely different than the images on Expedia with the sofa bed and twin beds next to each other instead of being in seperate areas like what was portrayed in the images.

The room we were in was on the top floor. It was very hot, two fans were provided but they didn’t do anything. No air-conditioning and one of the windows was broken so couldn’t even open. It made being in the room completely unbearable.

Additionally, there was mould all over the bathroom.

Don’t stay next to the lift, good otherwise

The apartment was clean and tidy however our particular apartment was near the lift and whilst you expect some noise from the lift ping, people talking etc this was crazy. Every time the lift was in operation it make creaking and clunking noises whilst it was moving that kept me and my family awake all night. I informed the reception and eventually received a reply saying sorry but not how they would address the issue. Everything else was very good but the main thing with an apartment or hotel is to get a good nights sleep but this was impossible in apartment 506, if you stay here make sure you are not near the lift, I’m sure you will have a good stay if you are not next to the lift as everything else is very good.

Great location, poor experience

This is a very well located hotel that is only a few minutes walk from some great food spots - however the hotel seems to have gone downhill since my stay in 2019.
We were not given the room we booked, and when I questioned it the receptionist insisted it was correct (but I had booked a room with a double bed and we were given twin beds).
The room was also very loud and as mentioned by other reviewers, you can hear music and shouting from a nearby venue. It's also very loud in terms of noise from the apartments above, and our room was also right next to the lift shaft so we had to listen to the constant squeaking of that at all hours.
The decoration is also quite poor with some very odd images of topless men breaking eggs in the lift.
The hallway to the apartments also smelled like rubbish throughout our stay though thankfully that did not spread to the apartment.

Thr location is great. It's close to alot of sights in Leuven.
The room looked poor. Seats look worn off, broken handle, hair in the bathroom sink. I was really disappointed. Other than that the room was clean.
The sofa bed is hard and makes alot of sound as you move around.

This property faces a very popular bar and it is NOISY. There is no AC - so you have to keep the windows open for air and it was miserable. There is also a 24 hour gym on the first floor so people hang out in from of the windows of the hotel at all hours of the night. Problems in the room as well: TV did not work, everything was very worn and shabby.

Good stay, but hope you don’t face any issue

We stayed for a total of 4 nights and then another 2 nights.
Our first stay was flawless, from check in to check out, with the room being really good.
For our second stay of 2 nights, the elevator was broken and we were at 5th floor which was not at all comfortable. The person at the reception was kind to help us with our bag.
Also for our second visit, the shower was broken with a leak and we could shower with a very slow flow.
Because the reception is manned only during 3-8, we could not even complain to them about the shower.
Overall it’s a decent place to live, just that because of resource constraints, if you face issues they won’t be resolved quickly.

This was a great property to stay at and convenient to everything. The lighting in the room could be brighter and my card would not work one day (I had a few issues getting ahold of someone to let me in) but the room was perfect with a little kitchen and lots of space to spread out. Very convenient to train and sites. Great spot that I would recommend.

There was no communication back to me from the hotel for the access code in order to get into the hotel after 1100pm. I waited for over 4.5 hours and finally had no choice but to go get another hotel in the area otherwise I'd freeze to death outside. When I checked in to the other establishment, I finally received a new email from Getaway Studios after 1240 with the access code, but it was already too late!

Leuven is a wonderful town, full of young people, not far from Brussels. Location of apartment is great! Fully stocked with kitchen - microwave, dishes, refrigerator, all necessities! Clean, safe, even a few secured parking spaces. Really great for travelers! Reception hours are quite limited, but easy to reach by phone. Enjoy Leuven!!

In the heart of Leuven, within steps of restaurants, shops, all the sights. We had a useable kitchen and dining area for a family of 5, all sleeping in the same room. Bathroom was small but functional. Feels like an apartment hotel, with key card access. We used the limited underground parking - but everything was walkable. Not many cars in the city centre so quiet.

A very utilitarian, minimalist room. It should have been cleaner. All kinds of dust on the bedside table and under the bed, clearly visible. They only give you one face towel and one bath towel, and were flustered when I asked for an extra pair so I could have a bath mat towel and one for my hair (they gave them to me but first had to make me realize just how special a favor it was). Cleaning was extra. The location is very central and convenient, but the bar across the street was a bit loud at night. No air-conditioning. The entrance to the place is easily missed and not very nice. It's OK for a few nights.

Sofa bed instead of Double bed?

The first thing I would say is “check your booking”! We booked a studio apartment and didn’t check properly. We were therefore surprised to find that the set up was a single bed with a double sofa bed. I simply can’t understand why this is the case? I cannot imagine that anyone would want a single bed when there is ample space for a double bed. The sofa bed is not particularly comfortable, particularly after a demanding day at Rock Werchter.

That said, the apartment is clean, bright and nicely decorated. The bathroom is well equipped as is the apartment in general. There is a fridge, two burner hob and microwave if you want to carry out minor food preparation and cooking.

The apartment is perfectly located for the Station (10 minute walk). Grote Markt (5 minutes walk) and Oude Markt (8-10 minute walk).

I would recommend Getaway but still don’t understand why there isn’t a double bed?

We paid a difference for a double bed room, to find out we had to pull two single beds together to make it a double bed which we did not, not to expose the dirt and dust on the wall sides of the beds. The single beds are far from being a regular single bed size, they are very narrow, and will give you a back pain. Same goes for the cheap pillows, I woke up every morning with a neck pain.
The cleanliness is questionable, windows had water marks, dishes and cabinet doors had grime. There were cigarette butts outside the windows. There was also an offending smell on the corridor outside of our room all throughout our stay.
Self parking was advertised as 10 euros a day but during check in we found out that it in fact was 15 euros. The location was very good, but considering how small Leuven is almost every competition is nearby or at a reasonable walking distance.

Hotel room was fine. You’re really on your own with the lobby only being staffed from 3pm-8pm. Biggest complaint was the noise. If your a light sleeper you may want to find some place else. I heard every noise from the street below and from inside the hallway. Seems to be a popular bar with the college group that is close by and thus very loud atmosphere

This place is a joke. After returning home from our trip we find out that our rental car received two parking violation while parked in their parking lot. We parked in the designated Getaway parking spaces and received two $90 fines that were charged to our rental car account. Front desk closed early on check in day so they never had any info on our vehicle, Still trying to correct this problem. What a hassle.

I will stay there again. Nice hotel. Nice room. The bed was a bit uncomfortable but I found a solution around it. During my stay there I didn't see a single employee. I checked in after the reception closed. I checked out and nobody was at the reception. I didn't see any maids. They only clean the room weekly so since I was there 5 days they didn't clean my room... therefore it is like renting a studio apartment (an expensive one)... My only complain is that since they have a kitchen in the rooms it is expected that some guests will cook. Well there was no information were to put any trash if you wanted to empty the trash can on your own (or if there was information... it wasn't easily visible as I didn't see it)

We stayed as a family of four wanting the freedom of self-catering accommodation in the centre of Leuven. The apartment was cool. Clean, warm and modern, it fulfilled our needs excellently. It was easy to access and staff were very helpful. There were four single beds in a dormitory type arrangement, a wet room, well-equipped kitchen area and dining room.

Checkin is only possible at certain times so if you arrive early there is no on there so you can not gain access or drop your bags anywhere. Also they have parking but you need to book in advance, but there is a Q parking just down the road.

A pleasant way to spend a week in Leuven

The Getaway was perfect for a four-night stay. There is almost no presence of a front desk there for anything other than check-in, and your room is not cleaned from one day to the next, so it's more like renting an apartment than a hotel room. The room is well appointed, homey, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. There is no flexibility with early check-in, but luggage can be stored at the train/bus station.

Getaway Studios was a modern studio in a terrific location and is great value for money (I paid 60euros per night)! The studio had all the amenities (including a fan on a hot summer night) and I had a comfortable stay. My only suggestion would be to include a shower mat.

They should not put people on the sixth floor attic area when it is 92*F outside. The inside temperature was 118*. Try sleeping in that. The shower was nice and big which was needed as i took three very cold showers to wash off all of the sweat. Would not stay here in the summer if it is over 70 oitside.

We stayed in the Getaway studio for two nights during a business trip. We were very impressed with the spotless facilities, both of the room and the building in general. The room had very comfortable beds, dishes and cookware, a hair dryer, toiletries, ironing board and iron, even paper towels and toilet paper! It was a short walk to downtown Leuven with many outdoor cafés and great bars. Parking at the hotel was unavailable, but the reception (open only from 3-10pm) gave us a map and gave us simple directions to the cheaper parking garage, just a 5 minute walk away. The whole experience was delightful.

Stayed here with my adult son. Room was much larger than expected with beautiful views of Leuven. Hotel is no frills/no service. Check in and get room and no one on staff overnight, etc. We didn't seek or need service. The gentleman at check-in was very nice (and about to leave for the day) and helped me by printing some forms I needed immediately and emailed him upon getting into room. I'd definitely stay again.

Outstanding location very near the center of Leuven with all the shopping, dining and fun activities at the Oude Markt.
Room was spacious and very clean. The small kitchen was an excellent feature allowing us to enjoy a traditional Belgian breakfast in the morning.

Ayrıca odaya sinmiş ağır bir koku vardı. Sürekli havalandırmama rağmen o koku hiç geçmedi. Asansörden uzak bir oda istememe rağmen hemen dibindeki oda verilmişti. Özellikle akşam ve geceleri sürekli asansör sesi rahatsız edici. Bunun dışında sessiz sakin bir ortam vardı. Banyodaki lavabo tıkalıydı. TV çalışmıyordu. Odada yeteri kadar havlu, tuvalet kağıdı ve mutfak araç-gereci vardı. Havlu, yatak, yorgan, yastık, çarşaflar ve mutfak malzemeleri temizdi. Fakat verilen bilgilerin aksine çay/kahve makinesi yoktu. Saat 20:00'de resepsiyon kapandığı için (geç check-in yapacaksanız) mutlaka önceden otelle bağlantı kurulması gerekir. Binanın koridorları gayet temiz ve düzenliydi. Alles wat we nodig hadden in de kamer was aanwezig. Vrijdagavond was er geen parkeerplaats vrij en hebben bij ING geparkeerd. Wel spijtig.7
