Staff were very polite, helpful and friendly. Issues with the room were resolved promptly. Great transport links and a 5 minute walk to the food hawker centre plus convenient stores literally next to the hotel. Very clean small room with drinks and kettle. If you can live out of your suitcase, then it's very reasonably priced.

I wasn't expecting a luxurious stay when I booked this hotel and it was just as advertised. There is plenty to do in the area. There is a hawker centre nearby and many other food and beverage options. Public transport is good in this neighbourhood and many other amenities are a short walk away if desired. The hotel itself was basic but the bed was comfortable and the shower decent. That's all I asked and that's all I got!

The service ist just great. We could borrow an umbrella, they gave us a second duvet and they helped us with finding a bus to Kuala Lumpur. The cleaning staff was great too. We had major jetleg and even though we left the room after 14pm the room still got cleaned up. It was a little noisy at night because of the other guests and the metro is a little bit to far away. But its a great bidget friendly hotel.

Room sizes were quite small for 2 adults and 1 child for a superior double bed. It was a box room with toilet / bathroom . No space to stand if luggage is kept in the room. Shower with toilet was so small that it hardly had any space to stand near the shower. We had to upgrade it to a family room which was far better.. Obviously we had to shell out $sgd 250 extra. This prob was more to do with the way expedia advertised and when complained i was offered a $sgd 25 voucher which i refused. Having said that the staff were helpful in finding a bigger accommodation. Room qas regularly cleaned with fresh bottles of water. Location was convenient as well.

Overall, our stay was enjoyable except for a water drainage problem that caused loud noise throughout the night. However, after informing the reception, they kindly upgraded us to a better room to resolve the unpleasant issue. Great location, very safe, and friendly people!

Small and affordable cozy hotel

I am out visiting most of the day and only return to sleep. The room is small but cozy for me. It is simple and clean. Location is not near MRT. Nearest is Novena MRT and it is around $6.00 to get from MRT to hotel which is not too far. Outside of hotel is a Cheers (24 hours mini mart) so it is very convenient to get neccessities.

Singapore is a city to explore, not stay inside. So Fragrance Rose is great for sleeping, shower and toilet. Air Con plus Foxtel TV to help you fall asleep, buses out the front and MRT nearby. Rooms are small so don’t try to swing a 🐈, staff are lovely and friendly.

I recently booked a hotel room in Singapore for 1 night through this website. We were flying in from Melbourne to Singapore at 3am and need somewhere to sleep before embarking on a cruise ship at 4pm.
Admittedly, I accidentally selected check-in date 14/02/2019, however, upon arrival, we were told that we could not check-in until 3pm. Even though the hotel had ample rooms available, they refused to swap my booking unless I paid an extra $85. The room only cost $70.
By now we were absolutely furious and tired with the poor reception and complete lack of care and accommodation and had no choice but to leave the hotel at 3:30am and wait 12 hours outside at the cruise port.

•Dorian smell
The fruit shop be nearby. They're handling a lot of drains every day.That smell also entry hotel lobby,walkways,especially the lift...
•So far from MRT
Located inconvenient area.so it's so hard that you walk from/to MRT stn.If you good at Singapore transportation. Bus stop is sitting nearby.

The \"hotel\" located far away from MRT - 20 mins walk from Farrer Park / Boon Keng. It's good that a food center (Whampoa) located nearby with just 5mins walk. The room is really small and awful which is unmatch with the photo posted. The toilet was extremely small and with shower together without curtain, all the water split into the room.

The location of the place is quite convenient to a train station for ease of traveling. The hosts were responsive and supportive to any of our questions; however, there were a few issues with the room.

1. There’s an annoying dripping noise at night. If you are a light sleeper, I advise bringing a pair of ear plugs or noise canceling headphones.

2. The available Wi-Fi never worked for any of our devices, inside the room.

Overall, our experience were so-so with this listing.

Value for money at the discounted rate

The location is a bit out of the way actually, but not too difficult to find with a smartphone. Quite a few amenities around, which helps. Good cheap food just across the road and a little walk away.

It's like what the title said - value for money, esp if discounted. If we had to nitpick, the cleanliness can be slightly better. Pillow has a little mark, blanket a little stain, one wall is a bit old, but else... It's alright for a day or two.

Oh, the washroom is small too, but... Not a problem.

The room was smaller than what was seen on the website and it's definitely not as well-lit as what was shown in the pictures. Walls are pretty thin and we could hear other guests pacing up and down the hallway. Towels provided were yellowish-white and could do with some decent bleach. But with the low amount paid for a night, can't really expect too much.

Room is rather small just enough for two. They provide free coffee, tea, drinking water, toiletries, kettle, hair dryer all at the reach of your hands. Room is neat and tidy, bed is comfortable and USB port available for use. One thing I didn't like is the bathroom shower. It's too small and water pressure is not constant. However hotel is very clean, service was good. You can indulge in nice bak kut teh and eateries just few steps away from hotel. Overall a pleasant experience.

This double room is very small for a superior room with a queen bed. There are, among others, NO windows, NO bar fridge, and has only one stool.

I rate the reception service as \"3\" because on my previous stays the services were much better.

The house cleaning service was excellent. The room was kept very clean.

I will not stay in this hotels again.

I booked this hotel as a trial to the anonymous booking promoted by Expedia. Typically, when I've done this in the past via Lastminute.com, it was a good hotel trying not to let its competition know that it was giving discounts. In this case it was a sub-standard hotel passing off as a 3-star. Balestier is not Novena. A shower and the toilet must be separate, a truly novel experience for me. I have always avoided this chain but got duped this time. In fact I left a day early. Very disappointing.

Reception desk staff all very welcoming and friendly & helpful, nice start when checking in and for any other services , room small basic clean bed good had room with window,so made it appear bigger plus light, bathroom toilet very small , but adequate for shower,get for what you pay for , single okay double would be a problem, walls a bit thin could hear guests coming in late at night. Area good with bus service direct to mrt at Novena, taxis a plenty in Baliester Rd, eateries close by and also shopping centre TV and coffee supplied .Overall good value if on budget and for limited stay ,
