Get what you pay for. Very old and tatty. Main issue was there was an ant infestation in my room that meant if anything organic was left for a moment (cup of tea for example) within a couple of minutes it would be covered in ants.

Everything was very satisfactory. Staff are very helpful and accommodating. We stay at this hotel everytime we have a church mission in Singapore so we are already used to their accommodation and everything that comes with it.

Set up in residential area, very next to bus stop.
Convenient for transport and near to lot of Indian restaurants.
There is ARF restaurant on the right side of the hotel which serves south Indian breakfast at reasonable costs.overall a decent place to stay

There was a thick layer of dust covering the floor and furniture, the room looked like it had not been vacuumed for years. It was hot as the air con did not work during the day. The shower was broken. This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. You certainly won’t get any ‘value’ from this place.

it was quite good to middle of the night of my first night stay there were people checking up and making so much noise, laughing, chatting and was so loud that i have to open my door to stop them and call the hotel reception like 2 or 3 am, and was told by the lady at the hotel reception that there are people checking out but i mentioned that they dont need to be so super noisy and it was going on for another like 5 to 10 my minutes, instead of taking action but no, that's disappointing

The property is too old. The sink in our room is clogged but we did not manage to report it since we only spent 1 night and we were too tired from trip to request for transfer. Hotel room slippers is by request.

Friendly staff, good location. There’s a bus stop right outside the hotel. The only thing that put us off a bit was once we checked in got into our room, we found a dirty bedsheet on one of our beds.. we did call and ask for it to be changed but unfortunately we got changed to another dirty bedsheet. The cleaner was super nice we know it wasn’t her fault she didn’t noticed it was dirty from the beginning anyways. Overall we had no other issues. All staff were really friendly though!

a lovely stay

I have enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The room was a little cramped but it was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel was situated near Whampoa market and food court so it was easy to find food.
There were lots of buses going in different directions and easy to get to Novena MRT to connect to where I wanted to go.

Firstly, very convenient to local food,shops & transport. Excellent Receiption service, very friendly staff. On the night before I left, wakeup call was great. Night shift staff @ Receiption did an excellent job with organising the time for the morning call, organising a taxi which arrived in 2 minutes. Would recommend any tourist on a budget to stay. Thank you again.

Nice, Cozy, Affordable Hotel.

This is a great, no-frills, hotel, for its price point.
If you need a room to stay in, to wash up, this hotel is likely a good fit. There are numerous restaurants nearby serving mostly local food, halat and non-halal (mainly Chinese). The next-door cafe, Brown Sugar, does quite a good job with breakfast and lunch. I had breakfast for less than S$5. There is also a convenience store within 1 min. walk.
I enjoyed staying here. The management had been accommodating, allowing me to check out at noon (11 a.m. was the official check-out time); Jason (the lobby Manager) assisted, reserving a taxi for me.
The hotel is a bit old, and there is a leak on the floor in my room on the day I checked out. It appears it may come from an adjacent room. Nevertheless, I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The nearest MRT station is Boon Keng (for me, that is). Walking time to that MRT station from the hotel was estimated at 10 minutes.

Booked 2 weeks stay for 2 person , single beds x 2. Bed linen were changed daily and bins emptied. Bathroom, clean towels given but bathroom was never cleaned. The shower and hand gel were left in bathroom. I accidentally dropped my spectables on the floor on my 13th day stay and it went underneath the bed. I had to pull the bed out to retrieve my spectacles and found layers of dust, bottle caps, dirty tissue and rubbish underneath the bed. We were allocated on the 5th floor , no window and the noise is really loud along the corridor and rhe walls are thin. Would not recommend more than one night stay and not impressed with the cleaning. Imagine we have live in a room which is actually quite dirty from day 1 . Poor cleaning standard!

It has awful smell when we came in. when we open up the drawer at the dressing table, there was kfc food ? it was probably overdue . there was ants at the dressing table . the room was definitely not how i expected it to be . the picture showed and the room was definitely a disappointment . never again to this hotel.

It was my first time to be out of my country and also my first time in Singapore staying in a hotel like Value Hotel Balestier allows me to experience a pleasant stay in the country. It also give me the opportunity of not experiencing difficulty in going places. Thanks to on of the staff in the hotel I was not able to get his name who has a list of navigation on how to go to places in Singapore which is amazing!

Does not look like the pictures. Not recommended if you want a good nights sleep. We stayed in a no window room. Too small we couldn’t put our suitcases anywhere. The toilet is basically under the shower head. The washroom does however seem to be renovated at least. The bed isn’t comfortable, you can feel the springs. The walls are like paper, we could hear the room beside us snoring. We had to make 2 noise complaints both nights because you can hear EVERYTHING and people are yelling and talking loudly in the hallway. The staff were great, brought us new towels right away when requested and handled the noise complaints immediately. Overall, we would not stay here again, not comfortable or spacious, too loud.

The first room we got felt damp and no hot water coming from the shower, only from the tap at the sink. But the hotel staff were kind to change our room to another one which had hot water. So it was all good. Beds were comfy, had 3 good nights’ sleep.

Have minor issue but comfy and great staffs

Stayed at Value Hotel Balestier for 3 nights first night we stayed at 3rd floor and the room is a bit old looking. Aircon is vent is rusty picture frame has molds and head board has smell. We then transferred to a new room because of some concern. And the staff in duty that night was too kind and just gave us another room. New room is better cleaner and new paints on wall. No foul smell too. Overall i can still recommend the hotel to others and it is still nice.

Overpricing for such a tiny room and it location. The standing shower is next to the toilet without a shower curtain or a divider! Actually, there is no shower bath. The restroom got wet everywhere after someone took a showers! It was horrible experience!

Not close to any MRT stations but still quite accessible by numerous bus routes. Generally clean but looks a bit old. Living on 1/F was quite noisy as there are always someone passing by your door.

Staff at the front desk were rude and unhelpful but the staff on the door went above and beyond to help.
The room was TINY with no window and stuffy. Air conditioning unit was dirty and made us sick.
Bathroom was the worst. No room to shower. Toilet was under the shower and everything got wet when you showered. Toilet paper and towels included.
