I didn't like that the room I selected said city view in double bed. They me lower floor with no view. Next morning lady manager made it right. The rooftop was closed which is why I booked. The staff was rude as ever. I called down for an iron was told they would bring it right up, after 5 mins or longer I went down stairs and asked the man with glasses who sits in the office about iron. I walked up and he was like \" they going to bring it\". I told him I've been waiting and have to get dressed for a tour and needed to know when. He said another guest may be using and I asked can he call housekeeping to check he was really irritated and so was I. He did finally called housekeeping and she told him she'll bring it right to me. As I was going to my room I seen the nicest housekeeper who went right to get it as I waited. I got dressed and wanted tissue and fresh towels, walked down to where I seen housekeeping working in room and asked for tissue and towels. Again it was the nice lady and another lady. The other lady looking at my like I'm asking for her life but the nice lady proceeded to get the items and gave them to me. Before check out I seen housekeeper was asking was she doing my room I want to tip her again. I asked the male worker to translate it he didn't even listen and just kept telling me to go to front desk. I did explain to lady manager and she translated for us. I don't recommend if American/solo traveler dont get same treatment as other guest. I booked new hotel

Property was very close to Blue Mosque, which was visible from their rooftop terrace. Within walking distance of Topkapi Palace and the Grand Bazaar. Hotel buildings are quite dated and has steps to the front to get in. Room was clean but basic.

Appreciated the front desk!

There are 2 drinking glasses in the room: one was cracked & the other has lip & finger marks on it ⚠️ Honestly cannot answer the parking question as I didn’t need it. The front desk upgraded my room when I presented him with my issue. That issue was about the stale, damp smell of my initial room assignment. It’s an old hotel, I get it, charming in its own right (friendly staff for sure) but cannot ignore the smell. I appreciate being taken care of and my new room (still has the smell though definitely not as strong) was sooo much better! I would open the curtains to see the Blue Mosque right outside my window ☺️ Also make note: location is perfect; everything I wanted to see was so easy to get to!

I booked this hotel only because they promised my Expedia agent to provide free airport shuttle to/from IST Airport. They do NOT offer shuttle and didn’t arrange a pick up for me. I had to pay for the taxi 80 Euros ( both ways). Breakfast starts at 8 am. I asked to wake me up at 5 am, they called at 4 am. I arrived at 11pm night before, I was waiting for transportation for 3 hours in the Airport, where I had to ask strangers for help, Wi-Fi at the airport didn’t work on my phone. They don’t provide even a bottle of water and didn’t offer breakfast in the box to go. Room is VERY small, 5 by 6 feet. Noisy. Bathroom smells like sewage. No normal shower-only hose on the wall, like for the bide. Very shabby place, no exit signs. Personal doesn’t speak decent English or Russian and apparently they are stupid, if can not even wake up people on time. Extremely disappointed. Do NOT stay at this property. They don’t care at all.

When I got to my room I discovered that a curtain was just hanging by one connector, the bed was not properly set, which appeared that someone had already used it, as there were hairs on the pillow, bits of toothpaste in the sink and a pair of used socks in the bin. I went to reception to report this and was condescending told that I could have used the phone in the room. I went back to the room and after a bit of searching, I found the phone in the bathroom. To add insult to injury, the phone was also broken. It took several requests to the desk to get this sorted and after a few hours, they managed to sort out a few of the problems before I gave up and opted to get some sleep.
The next morning I was able to look around the hotel and discovered the photos of this hotel is similar to dating apps where people post their best pictures, but has a considerable gap with reality. The outdoor space is cluttered with slightly disturbing garden ornaments and the lawn is mainly weeds. The reception area has a big section separated out and used as offices, which is different to the photos. In general it was very disappointing when compared to the photos they provided for the public areas.
My room had seen better days and the furnishings were worn. I’m not sure if my room was haunted, as the robe they provided had several large holes as if it had been involved in some violent activity and I could hear voices in my room, which is strange as they are supposed to be soundproof.

Staff were friendly. My room “suite” was very small, the first two days of our stay we didn’t have hot water in the shower, tv was in black and white.

The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. They always had time to help us know our way around the city and to guide us to the best places to see. The only disappointment was that the terrace restaurant was closed. However, the lower level restaurant provided the most wonderful and delicious breakfast each morning of our stay, which was included.

Hotel has a very good location only few minutes walking to Blue Mosque and Haghia Sophia.

The hotel is very traditional and especially staff are really helpful.
We stayed in a family suite room and the room was nice but just had the following issues during our stay:

=>Broken toilet seat on arrival.
=>Bathroom stinks due to poor shower drainage, reported to reception but didn’t improve.
=>Poor internet connectivity in room – intermittent disconnection.
=>Room service was not keeping up room refreshment refills such as tea bags or coffee so we have to request the reception every day for refills.

This hotel is within a nice location, however i wouldnt give it 4 stars at all, as the room had a few problems like the toilet seat being broken(which was changed after we complained), TV doesnt work (we were told that if we go out and come back it will be fixed but nothing has happened) one of the table lamps at the bed side doesnt work. We Were told that there is a lift and then we realised that the lift is in the next building, so having a baby and a pushchair was very difficult to carry in and out everyday as the entrance of the hotel has 10 steps. As well as going through a narrow corridoor and again going down 3-4 steps to reach the lift in the next building. Bed sheets were not changed for the whole week although they were dirty, instead the dovet cover was flipped over.
Breakfast was ok, they could improve on the bread though.

Sarnic, the heart of Istanbul

Sarnic hotel is located in in the heart of Istanbul. It's very close by to all the famous attractions. It was so easy to find our way around the city.

Staff at Sarnic were incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful, especially Sinan the General Manager.

Our whole experience was an unforgettable one and we'll definitely cherish the memories for many years to come.

The hotel was at favourable location. But the cleanliness of the room we stayed in was terrible. The bathroom was very dirty, toilet seat broken and dirty. The shower was hard to adjust. They gave very few toilet rolls, on the second day of our stay they didn't even provide room service and had to request for a toilet roll. There was no shower gel just alot of shampoo and conditioner. Will not be recommending this hotel.

Close to everything , very central to the main tourist spots . But yet on a quiet street location . So a good rest on good beds . Great water pressure in showere and piping hot water . Good continental breakfast , good array and variety , fresh and beautifully presented buffet style .
Friendly and helpful . Good standard of English and other languages spoken .
Blue mosque right outside window . Where would you get it ? . And picture added is literally under the hotel . The history .....

Decent hotel but not amazing.

Decent hotel. Had the balcony view from the 3rd room looking over the blue mosque but the view was slightly obstructed by other buildings in bad condition.

All 4 rooms had a sewage smell coming from the bathroom but apparently that's the issue with the city in general being a historic city with old plumbing system.

Quiet area to stay in and only 10 minutes walk tops to the tourist area.

Great hotel in great location vs smell

Everything was perfect in the hotel, clean rooms with a lot of details and decorations, clean bathroom, friendly stuff that always offered assistance in everything we needed and extraordinary view through the window.
Free breakfast, free shuttle to and from airport, good food. The only thing that bothered us was stink coming of drain system once in a while. Other all it has a great management and amazing manager. Thank you Tarik

Amazing location next to the blue mosque and 5 mins walk from basically all major attractions.
Lacks nightlife in the area - a 20 min to taxim square corrects thay though

The main bonus of this hotel is the staff.
I ate a dodgy free kebab on the weekend after a few beers.
Woke the next day..wanted to die.

Had to checkout at 12. Not good.

Went to reception in my vunerable state and the staff helped me so much.
Arranged my airport transfer, got me pain relief, water, anything I needed.
Even took me to a back room to sleep in comfort. No gym or pool, so minor minus there.

Genuinely awesome.
I'd have just thrown me out, if I was them. Useless tourists.

A most welcoming and convenient hotel

I needed a hotel at fairly short notice at a location convenient for travelling extensively in Istanbul over a few days in connection with work and visits to friends.
The hotel not only met these requirements, but is a hotel that I could recommend without hesitation to anyone.
The Manager and his team are courteous, competent, efficient and well-organised. Their outlook and attitude are most professional. The room was very quiet and comfortable and spotlessly clean. The staff were helpful in connection with some travel questions. Breakfast is excellent and the lasting impression is one of having had a convenient and comfortable stay and having been welcomed with great respect, graciousness and courtesy.

Air Freshener Overload

Let me start by saying that the hotel is in a wonderful location near the Blue Mosque. The Deluxe room had a nice view of the mosque. However, the bathroom smelled horrible and then use of air freshener was overwhelming. Someone took a lot of care in decorating, but then things like bent stencils on the wall or trim coming off the lights really ruined it. They have a wonderful view from the roof but leave no furniture out for customers to enjoy it. They said it was winter but the weather was gorgeous. The breakfast didn't start until 8 which is not good for people going off on tours. Also the hotel offes free shuttle to airport, but the last shuttle is like 4 pm. I was disappointed in how the hotel pushed overpriced tours instead of actually offering a good price, but they did their own markups. You can go to nearby places for the same tours at a lower price. Most of all I didn't feel they were friendly at all. I always felt like they acted like they were doing me a favor.

Selected and booked the Sarniç Hotel via a combined hotel and flight booking.
Had read some reviews of the hotel and also with the location of the hotel being very adjacent to the blue mosque, it made my choice easier (it took me 8 mins from my room on the third floor to the actual inside of the mosque via the courtyard - at my age!). I also opted for the Initial booking option of a breakfast and the blue mosque view from the room.
Four days before our travel date I contacted the hotel via email to notify them of the requirement for a shuttle service from Ataturk airport for two passengers. There are 2 email addresses for the hotel and I sent the request to both just to make sure. By the next day the request for the shuttle service was confirmed by the manager Tarik (who later was to be a great help and advisor at the hotel).
After our arrival at Istanbul Ataturk airport we were met by our driver who had a placard with my name on it. It took about 25 mins for the drive from the airport to the hotel.
At the hotel reception we were met by the manager Tarik where all the formalities of the checking-in process were completed (including the wifi password). Additionally he offered us further information and advised us to contact him if we needed anything. One of the hotel staff took our luggage and ushered us to our room on the third floor with the blue mosque view that we had requested.
The room was clean and tidy as expected with everything working including the A/C-heater unit.

A wonderful experience not forget

Although it was not included in our original vacation plans as we had booked a separate trip to Spain and Morocco. We only added Istanbul as our Turkish airline flight to Madrid had a connection in Istanbul. And truth be told. We are really glad with our visit to Istanbul and our stay in this hotel twice within three weeks time. I booked the hotel online after reading few reviews. Our 3 night plus 4 nights included free airport pickup and drop off and breakfast. I started with Emails to the hotel manager Tarek followed by few phone calls just to make sure about the pickup (as someone had complained in one review). Each time email was replied and phone was answered very courteously, assuring there will be someone just outside the airport with my name card. We arrived on October 8th, 2016. There sure was a gentleman with my name card out there. There was a slight delay for the pickup van to arrive due to construction and high volume of traffic. I would suggest to other travelers to be a little patient. The van driver spoke little English but was a very cheerful young man. He suggested where to visit and where to go for shopping.
Now to the hotel and and the staff. As mentioned earlier, beside General Manager Tarek, his assistant Islam, Tahir, the cleaning lady, and rest of the staff was amazing. They were always available. Day or night with suggestions and guidance. My wife and I both loved daily breakfast choice. Excellent coffee. Thanks Tarek, Islam and Tahir and everyone

Nice Hotel close to all major attraction

Very good of the money. very neat and clean, staff were helpful. Small Hotel, but every major attraction in walking distance. You can book long distance attraction at Hotel, even there are facilities available around the corner with other Tour Operators. Even you can bargain in off season.
If you are fancy of good living in that case please take any good freshener (spray) with you. Daily House keeping without any reminder is plus point. changing of Bed sheets etc. is normal. This give the Hotel minimum 4 stars. Breakfast is normal.

Istanbul is dangerous

I've been to Istanbul before & loved it.
But it is now a lawless devious place.
A friend & I were tricked into joining a seeming sweet unthreating local for a drink. We ended up being robbed & fearing for our lives. No one wanted to help us ...the hotel staff told us ur happens all the time as if it's the usual tour for visitors...where are the police?
Avoid Turkey.

Not a 4 stars hotel

Used to go to near by hotels but wanted to try this hotel after Expedia recommendations as a 4 stars hotel , and it wasn't at all the smell in the room was terrible in the 4 days of staying meanwhile not well maintained , they have a problem with the water system corrosion color in water and very small room, nice location.

Nice location to the historical site!

We enjoyed the stay. The location is great for historical site. Hotel staff are friendly. Many resturants around and the shopping bazaar is also close.

The rooms are well maintained/decorated to meet international travellers requirement, though small but staff is very cooperative and helpful in providing guidance for tourism.
The best part is free to and fro airport shuttle which gives real piece of mind.

Hotel is perfectly located in the Historic part of the European district. Most of the important and must see attractions are within a walking distance. Reasonable breakfast, and very helpful team.

Locally-Owned hotel with charm

Friendly and helpful staff, especially Taric (sp?). Decent small continental breakfast with good coffee, juice, local breads, jams, and cheeses. Great view of the Blue Mosque. Literally a five minute walk to the Blue Mosque and a few more steps to the Hagia Sofia. There is a bazaar nearby, too. The room was comfortable with a small shower restroom; no bathtub. Don't expect posh, but it's a charming place with local color. Only disappointment: the rooftop terrace is currently closed! Wish I'd known before I booked, but they say renovations will be finsiiehd in a few weeks.

Nice hotel, great staff

The hotel staff are very kind and friendly. Our room was nice and clean. The shower was great. Excellent location 4 minute walk to the nearest tram station. Would definitely go back.

“Excellent Value, Location and Quality.

The Sarnic Premier Hotel was just wonderful.

The staff were so hard working and friendly. The room was far better than we'd expected for the money we'd paid. The location could not have been better - just behind the Blue Mosque, although beware the call to prayer at 5.30 am!! The breakfast buffet was great. Best of all, though, was our daily room maid - she was so thorough with such a professional attention to cleanliness.

We felt valued as guests and not just as numbers passing through. I would recommend this hotel without reservation.

The staff were amazing!

Loved the hotel, the amazing view of the blue mosque from the room AND rooftop and the amazing staff!!!
Very happy with the service, always helpful when I needed translating!
Will deffo return to Sarnic premier hotel, ten minute walk to the blue mosque, five minute walk from the Arista bazaar and fifteen minute walk to the grand bazaar!!

Avoid this hotel

The hotel's only good point is its convenient location, inside the Old City. The rest is simply bad: hotel staff are non-professional, the room is small,old and smells unpleasantly. It is not a professionally run hotel. I had booked the room through Expedia, but when I arrived in Istanbul I could not stay there. I opted to lose the money I had paid and move to a better hotel rather than to ruin my holiday.

Expedia is completely wrong about the rating of this hotel. It should be rated one star, and under no circumstances could get a four star rating.

Great view! Helpful staff.

The hotel wasn't bad. My mother's room had a few issues as far as a light had a short in it but over all the staff was very friendly and helpful. Their breakfast was good and the hotel was very clean. They setup private cars/shuttles for everywhere we needed to go and they always had a coupon to offer us for different places. Regardless of the few smaller issues we all said we would stay there again.
