When we entered, we realised it was not the same rooms as pictures and on booking confirmation, we had 2 double beds, 2 single and 2 sofa settee for 5 people but there was 2 double and 1 settee. Upon asking we were told this is it.
Rooms were clean but toilets were unbearable stinky (probably tiles glue) and toilet was not fixed with the floor so it was shaky.
One day for few hours there was no water and no warning was given in advance.
Second room with no window, opened in a storage room which door couldnt be locked which was unsafe.
View from first room window is old broken building with large commercial bin in front where they can come at 2 in the night to collect which is noisy.
Staff was nice and polite and helpful.
I beleive with a bit of effort this place can be a better place as this is in the hub.

This hotel is a scam! My room was located in an underground basement filled with mold, no electricity, no air conditioning. The front door to my room was missing the door knob. The bed sheets seemed to be unwashed. I checked out the second I saw the room and they would offer me a refund.

Horrible. We book 1 hotel and they took us to an adjoining hotel. See pictures. We could not stay. Management said they are booked nothing else available. I would not send my worse enemy there...we arrived there about 2am.. we spoke to management which was a waste of time... we booked another hotel and left. We called hotel.com and tried to get a refund and they said the hotel said NO.. so. We paid about 1500.00usd for a few hours... they say pictures tell a thousand words. See them. I poster all. Hope they show it and dont delete them. .. as i said Horrible. Horrible.. horrible!!!

Took a taxi to the hotel door was locked after a few minutes some one came I told them I have a booking they called the owner then they took me walking with 2 heavy bags 2 streets down to there apartments they give me the room on the 5 floor (no elevator) room was extremely cold it’s on the roof bed not clean, mold everywhere especially the bathroom

This hotel is in a very good location. Close to major touristic attractions and restaurants. That is a plus since I was staying in Istanbul for a few days only. The price was ok for the location but the room was probably the worse in the hotel. It is not refundable for a reason. I’m happy I only rented the room for one night. I called this stay “the dungeon” for the conditions. In a basement, bad condition and noisy.

Very nice/cute property😍, friendly and helpful staff. I was recommended here by a friend and I will come here again! Very close to many attractions and you get good exercise for walking up the cute little streets on the hills! Close to many restaurants as well. I don’t want to go to any other hotel in Istanbul, it has a very personal feel and not just like any other guest at some of the bigger hotels!

We loved Berce Hotel! Mehmet and all staff are wonderful! Our visit in mid-November coincided with no water in much of Sultanamet due to tunnel construction. Berce provided as much free bottled water as we needed and upgraded our room. Desk staff was always helpful, and even came to find us when we got lost the first night while looking for the hotel. The rooms are very clean and well furnished. Breakfast on the roof is fabulous! And you can see both the Blue Mosque and the sea from the roof! We will be happy to stay at Berce again when we're in Istanbul!!

Good hotel with friendly staff. It is near to all major attractions in Sultanahmet. However if you search in advance, there is a high probability that you will find hotels at a very short distance from Sultanhamet tram station at the same price. Mr. Mehmet was very helpful and he helped us plan our day tour and airport shuttle transfers.

If you're looking for Hilton Hotel modernity, the Berce is not for you. The room is small and the bathroom is tiny. The bed is hard and the furnishings are dated. The breakfast, let's just say the view from the rooftop breakfast room is what makes the climb up the stairs worthwhile. But the Berce oozes charm, its location (a quiet neighborhood just a 10 minute walk to Sultanahmet Square and 20 minutes from the Grand Bazaar) is perfect, and desk clerks are friendly and helpful. If you keep your expectations in check, you'll love the Berce.

Pleasant little Hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was served on the roof terrace which was very nice but the food itself was a bit limited. To be critical I would have preferred some more fresh fruit and cereals although it was perfectly acceptable. Room was pleasant enough and it was ideally located for the Blue Mosque and other sights in the old town.
As a word of caution, we flew into the new airport, Sabiha Gokcen and it takes an hour to drive to the Berce and that is only if the traffic is Good! 90 minutes is more realistic at best as traffic in Istanbul is a nightmare. To transfer by public transport will require 2 buses and a ferry. The Hotel did arrange a driver to pick us up, which cost 65 euros and for the return local mini bus shuttles are available for 10/15 euros per person.

My wife and I arrived in the wee hours of December 11 following a delayed arrival at Istanbul Attaturk. The night attendant (Sirhan, I believe) lugged our bags up to our 3rd floor room with dispatch and good spirits.
Mehmet, who manages the hotel by day was (and this is true of the entire staff) extremely good company and helpful in arranging day tours of this remarkable city. We loved our stay in this charming hotel and enjoying breakfast at the fourth floor dining facility with a wonderful view of the Bosporus. A wonderful experience in a lovely boutique establishment!

My husband and I recently travelled to Istanbul for a 9-night stay at Berce Hotel. We were not disappointed with our stay at this hotel. It was pretty much as we expected. The staff was helpful and pleasant. As a woman, thankfully I did not experience any negative treatment or neglect from staff as was pointed out in other hotels and in a few previous reviews for this hotel. The room was very clean and overall condition of the hotel was good. If you expect more than the basics, you will be disappointed, but we were received all that we expected from our stay.

I’m a frequent business traveler and this was one of the best leisure experiences I’ve had. Istanbul was new to my family and me. We were a large party of five and Mehmet was exceptional at communicating and taking care issues and assisting. Our transportation was handled perfectly. He let us know the highlights of what we should see in the city. The icing on the cake was on the last day when he arranged our transportation to the Airport at 8:00 AM and realizing that we would miss breakfast they had breakfast prepared early so we could eat before leaving. Transportation was waiting at the door promptly at 8, unbeatable. Great location, super nice people and a great time. FIVE STARS!!!

Perfect for guests that want to sight see for the majority of their day. Be aware that rooms have one double bed and you will be charged an additional fee for a rollaway. Would absolutely go back!

My wife and I found this hotel was a great base for exploring Istanbul for a week.
Our second floor room was quite spacious (by Istanbul's tight standards) with 2 small balconies and a clean bathroom.
The best things about it were its position, its staff, and its breakfast.

The staff, particularly the manager Mehmet, are very friendly and helpful. Mehmet provided valuable advice and suggestions on restaurants and he was also helpful in suggesting how we could use Istanbul's public transport to get to more distant spots.
The complimentary breakfast is excellent. It is served on the terrace with great views over the Sea of Marmara and can be enjoyed either at an inside table our outdoors on the deck.
We will certainly recommend this small friendly hotel to our friends.
Our second floor room was quite spacious (by Istanbul's tight standards) with 2 small balconies and a clean bathroom.

Nice hotel, good location
Mehmet was incredibly helpful, and the hotel was everything we had hoped for - clean, comfortable, and within easy distance of many of the main sites we wanted to see. The breakfast was delicious, and the roof terrace where we ate it had great views.

Excellent Location for seeing the Old city
Mehemet and his staff went out of their way to make this stay comfortable and pleasant. Room 102 was especially nice. The A/C worked so well I slept soundly after a long day of sight-seeing. The hotel is within walking distance of everything I wanted to see.

The staff were amazing!!! The location is perfect for the sights. The neighborhood in some areas around the hotel were dilapidated. It is in the old part of Sultanhanmet with cobblestone streets. It is at the bottom of the hill so it can be a little bit of a hike. Same with the roof top terrace for breakfast. It is four flights up, steep stairs. Not all pictures posted on their website are from the hotel. The blue mosque can not be seen from the rooftop terrace. Love the terrace for breakfast. You can see the water and the birds chirping in the trees with the warm sun was great. The cook is constantly cooking up fresh food for breakfast. The owner is always there as well greeting folks and serving tea. He also owns a carpet shop, if you are looking... Have fun whatever you do!

We were flying from Paris and so this hotel was tenfold better in all areas - size,comfort,amenities but most of all SERVICE.Transportation to the hotel was arranged quickly via email the day of our flight after reading about some taxi nightmare stories.Serkan,Mehmet and Tailand were all ready to assist you and don't forget the rooftop breakfast.

This hotel is a perfect boutique hotel to stay in the old city of Istanbul. A short walk to all the main Sultanahmet sites, and the tram stop to take you everywhere else. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, though if you have mobility problems you should mention it to make sure you have an accessible room/bathroom (there is no elevator). The staff and owner are exceptionally friendly, and the breakfast was the best we had in Turkey.

We got the basement room and while the decor is very average and the window is very high up to actually be able to see outside, the hotel is good. Very helpful staff and good location. this is a very comfortable hotel for the the value.

A cosy gem -- right in the heart of the old city
My husband and I came to Istanbul in order to see the sights, and we could not have found a better place to stay. The hotel was clean, tidy, with excellent service (and staff who spoke English). Breakfast was excellent - and the view of the Sea of Marmara from the breakfast room and our hotel room was delightful. We were only steps from the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, etc. We highly recommend!

Great staff, clean amenities, convenient location in Old Town Istanbul. Could not ask for a better hotel stay in this price range. Google maps gave incorrect location of hotel but nearby. Had to resort to a different smartphone app map to find actual location. Hotel was difficult to spot from the road.

All staff and receptionists were a great help. Cordial, good English, directions on how to get to the major landmarks (Blue Moque, Aya Sofia, Grand Bazaar, etc), made airport shuttle reservations for us for a 3:30am pickup.

Very clean, pleasant and small hotel conveniently located about 5 mins walk from the Blue Mosque. Staff very helpful and friendly and always on hand to answer any questions. Beware though, apparently not accurately placed on google maps and our taxi driver took some time to find it! Would recommend.

Excellent location in the old city; short walk away from all the important sights. Comfortable hotel with personal, unobtrusive service; quiet and friendly place to stay. Would not have wanted to stay in any other area of Istanbul: all within walking distance of the mosques, museums and Cavalry Bazaar. Good breakfast and comfortable room, (firm mattress). shower room was small but adequate. Need to be fit enough to climb stairs up to the Terrace. Lovely view across the rooftops to the Bosphorus, where you can drink tea and watch the seagulls building their nests.

The Berce Hotel is excellent! The patio on the top of the building is great, with good views and an authentic Turkish breakfast every morning. The neighborhood is very old and interesting just to walk around. And you're only a few minutes' walk to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia.

Great little place
The location of this hotel was really good for visiting the sultanhamet area of Istanbul, and it was in a fairly quiet area, if a bit difficult to find. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The view from the terrace at breakfast was great, along with the food itself. There was no view from the room, however.
