The window shade was broken. They did not
give us another room. When we check in they told us that if we brake any thing we will have to pay for it. So as soon enter the room and saw tthe window shade was broken, we went back down to report it. Never before a hotel told us this when checking in. Strange?

The coffee was amazing in this place. The bathroom is clean and bright and spacious. But the towels had quite a few stains on them. The bed, though, was not that great. You only get one pillow for each person, and it's not even firm and barely has any support. The bed sheet always comes off the bed. The bed sheet should be a fitted sheet, and pillow should be a bit more firm and hope that you request more pillows.

We didn't like that there are no fitted sheets for the bed and they provide only one pillow per guest. Also breakfast menu all throughout our 11 day stay didn't change at all, considering we paid for it each time.

Only stayed a night and in hindsight probably shouldn’t have stayed here. Abrupt staff. Couldn't get a table for dinner in a small restaurant and felt like we were not welcome, and there were only 10 tables occupied and they said it would be at least an hour before we would get our food.
It was stated that check out would be at 12 but the cleaners came around at 10:30 making us feel like we had to leave.

Tourist passing through. This motel (doors on outside) may not be in a great part of town, but it was cheap. The staff were great to speak with, and the bartender was quite engaging. Room was just OK, everything quite old, and close to the highway so noisy. Breakfast was 15 and quite good. Stayed there for the price and satisfied.

Not quite what we hoped for.

I made a mistake in booking a hotel further out from the centre. This is a hotel situated on a business park so there is no local charm.

I have mobility problems and the hotel was a nightmare, with badly done, retrofitted ramps in doorways.

The power point in the bathroom blew the room electrics when we plugged in the hotel's kettle. We were told it couldn't handle anything more demanding than a mobile phone but there was no warning to that effect.

Though the room is no smoking there were ashtrays right at the outside of the door so we still had to face the mess and stink.

The staff were helpful and there was a shed where we could lock our bikes so that was a plus point.

No USB outlets in the room so we needed a stock of adaptors to deal with phones, power packs, etc.

Breakfast was good.

Very basic, drab and bad location for Gouda centre

The hotel is really a motel and is very average. The rooms are small and drab and very dated. If all you need is a bed for the night its ok. The beds are comfortable and the room clean.
On top of that the location is not good for Gouda centre as you need a taxi and it goes all around to get to the centre so is expensive.
Also the charge is hugely overpriced for this accommodation.
On the good side the breakfast is decent. Staff helpful.

We wouldnt stay here again i'm afraid

We stayed here last year but this time it was a very different experience. The biggest issue was that we left our room, fully locked at 10am the first morning and arrived back at 7pm to find our room door wide open. These are motel rooms, the doors are on the outside of the building and can be accessed by anyone passing by. We immediately panicked assuming our room had been broken into and started checking for passports, keys, money etc. Luckily nothing had been taken so we immediately went to report that we assumed the room attendant had left our door open after it had been made up that morning. No manager was available and we were asked to speak to a duty manager the following day. The staff were apologetic and agreed it was not acceptable but we were left feeling upset and shaken and requested not to have our room cleaned again.
Secondary to this, our vegan/dairy free requirements had been met last year at breakfast which was a reason we'd rebooked. They'd offered vegan cheese, plant based milk and even veggie sausages when we'd asked. This time, the chef suggested we try the eggs (not vegan), the normal cheese (also not vegan) or the cereal (dry i'm assuming as there was no milk alternatives when I asked) So having already prepaid almost 14 euros each, per day for breakfast when I booked the hotel, we were left with bread, cucumber, tomatoes and pineapple slices. I cant remember the last time i felt so ripped off.

Slightly over priced for the quality of the rooms and the breakfast. Dissappointing that staff were unable to correctly wear masks over their noses, especially when they prepared our breakfast. Room was ok, basic and clean. Breakfast pre covid being a buffet i think would have better, now you have to select on a sheet what you want and the choice is a bit limited for the price paid. Over all an ok stay but have had muh nicer stays for less in other hotels in the region

Rather dated, but reliable, perfectly located next to the motorway (and well soundproofed) for an overnight stop while driving across the Netherlands, and good included wi-fi. Can't say anything about the food as we just used it to get sleep. The pillows were very lumpy but the beds and cleanliness was fine.

1 week solo visit - ideal for a basic comfy stay

I was staying here solo for a week-long hockey tournament at Rotterdam HC - location was ideal. Value for money was excellent. Room was basic but had everything I needed and was pretty clean. Secluded location and, even though close to a motorway, I didn't notice any noise. Room walls however are quite thin (with locked adjoining door?) possible to hear the muffled conversations ...! Bed comfy but pillow lumpy. Shower power great. Lacked air conditioning and could have done with some, although I was there during the 2019 heatwave with outside temperatures up to 39 degrees. Staff were very helpful and spoke excellent English. I arrived early but room was made ready ahead of time. Breakfast was ok, and although a small-medium sized menu, the two-three dishes I had were top drawer.

Very basic, beds were uncomfortable and my room had what appeared to be blood (hopefully coffee) on the wall.

If you are looking for somewhere to get your head down for one or two nights on a work trip this place will do, I wouldn't recommend it for a holiday.

This hotel is very far from downtown. It felt like they were taking safety precautions like it was in a bad neighborhood (it was in an industrial complex) but they didn’t stop the drink rowdy kids from screaming and banging on doors and windows at 2:30 in the morning for over an hour. The next morning I asked if someone works overnight and since she said someone did I asked why they didn’t stop them. She said I would have to call down if it was disturbing me—um, really? Did they think everyone on the hotel was into this in the middle of the night?

In addition it felt dirty...I literally checked the bed for bed bugs. They also only gave my husband and I one towel to share between us. Good thing I was so grossed out I didn’t want to shower there!

The coffee/tea came with cookies. The only thing was the shower curtain didn't quite keep out all the water unless you wrapped it really well around, maybe my own fault. Otherwise, friendly staff, and you get a bed and shower. Not much more than that but for one night, what more do you need?

I stopped in Gouda for a one night stay while going on a bicycle trip from Amsterdam to Bruges. The staff accommodated my every need and even encouraged me to take the bike to the room overnight so that it was completely safe.

The staff here were really friendly and helpful. I was given helpful suggestions about the locality and although the hotel is next to a motorway, I didn’t have any issues with noise.
Good breakfast and bar facilities too.
Safe, secure parking outside for my motorcycle was very reassuring.

A nice , friendly, comfortable hotel with helpful staff. A little out of the way on an a Commercial estate, requiring a drive or cab into Gouda. However, the hotel had both a nice bar a decent restaurant, so a trip to town isn't necessary.

We had a great stay at this particular hotel. Friendly staff greeted us at the reception and was very helpful. Amazing breakfast in the morning, which totally made our money worth. The only thing I noticed was the spider webs around the entry door, but I guess it is hard to avoid during the summer season.

The hotel is very conveniently placed for travel into Rotterdand The Hague. It suited me perfectly as I was traveling on business. The hotel would also suit leisure travelers. It was good value for money with a goof restaurent offering good quality food. The room was equiped with all I needed including free WI Fi. I have used the Campanile chain before and have always been very satisfied.

The hotel was ideally located for where I was working. The food in the restaurant was \"ok\", the staff were friendly but the room was very cold and I had to keep turning on the heater in the bathroom (which was on a 15 minute timer) to get the temperature up in the room. Not bad for the money but certainly not one of the best hotels I have stayed in.

I had a very good stay at the Campanil Hotel Gouda. The room I had on the third floor was a bit chilly but bearable, the ambient temperature was -2c. The breakfast was a bit pricey @ 11eur. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The location was very good, which is situated next to the Dutch autobahn(be careful, the Dutch are strict with speeders(lots of cameras). Overall the hotel is priced reasonably.

A real inconvenience

It is not pleasant needing to get out of one's car to ring the bell for the night clerk to come out over the bridge and open the gate. The remote control from inside the hotel did not work. Now however no one replied when I rang over and over and the same happened to at least one one other guest. Only a voice mail reply. To be left standing in the rain at night unable to get in and no one answering Thr intercom bell is unacceptable. I am not staying there again. The maid service is also rubbish.

The food service at the hotel was very slow and pricey for very mediocre food. The room was adequate, but no air conditioning. If you open the window for air, you get noise from other guests who can also look right into your room.

Clean and adequate hotel. Staff friendly and helpful at all times. It is rather a distance from the town, but once I worked out the route it took me half an hour to walk from the hotel to the central Gouda train/bus station and 5 minutes more to the centre of town. If you are taking a taxi from the train station initially (which would be sensible rather than walking with bags) then be aware you have to ring a taxi - they do not just turn up at the rank. Ask at the train station. I found the staff at the central Gouda train station incredibly helpful - they could not do enough for you.
Hotel supplies tea and coffee making facilities in room, which is good. They will supply a hairdryer - but you have to ask and pay a 5 euro, refundable deposit for this.

We visited Gouda on bicycles, the hotel provided a locked storage area for the bikes and we were happy with our stay. The restaurant is only fair, but it makes far more sense to eat in the city center. We were pleasantly surprised to find the hotel located right on a bike trail. We would go back.

Geen uitleg dat er 's nachts een hek voor de ingang zou zijn. In de regen moeten bellen naar een nummer op een geplastificeerd stuk papier. We kwamen laat terug van een feestje wilde douchen maar geen warm water. Kamer was stoffig met spinraggen aan het plafond. Ze zitten midden in een verbouwing tot twee keer toe konden niet bij de kamer door allerlei bouwgereedschap en slangen die de weg versperde.

Kamer was wel redelijk schoon, was alleen geen uitleg hoe je de rolluiken naar beneden krijgt, is wel wat gezien de geluidsoverlast van de snelweg. We werden wel zeer vriendelijk ontvangen. De badkuip om in te douchen kan ook weel wat breder om in te staan.
