Room felt neglected, and not all rooms have A/C. The fact that the guest will have A/C or not is randomly selected makes this a bad experience, as there is no rate difference between having or not this amenity. Rooms are old, poorly maintained, towels feel cheap and unclean, TV resolution feels like feom the 90's.

The staff were helpful and friendly, the rooms were big and clean, and the views were exceptional! The only downsides were the lack of an elevator for our third floor room, and the constant dog barking at night.

The location was great, the rooms were incredibly clean and the beds and pillows were very comfortable.

We were surprised by how outdated much of the hotel is. It looks like they are trying to improve things which is promising. It would be nice if there were more than 8 lounge chairs that we could see (4 at the pool and 4 on the dock) - instead there were folding tables and chairs by the pool, down by the water, and on the dock. They looked like they were left behind from a party and not at all inviting. This did not make it feel welcoming to sit around and enjoy the surroundings.

The hotel grounds are beautiful. The view of the lake is expensive and breathtaking. Loved the on site restaurants and coffee shop. The room was clean and staff was on point.

My only complaint is the noise! I read some reviews mentioning it before but I ignored them. Big mistake. Dogs barking loudly non stop at 3 am and there seems to be a disco on grounds. The bass made it impossible to rest.

Jardines de Lago is a very cozy, romantic place, very well maintained. The staff is very attentive, especially Sole, who attended to all our requests. The breakfasts were excellent, and the views were wonderful.

This was a nice hotel with a fabulous view of the lake and volcanoes. It has plenty of places to take pictures or just sit down and admire your surroundings.

If you need a quiet room, tell them if they can take you out of the main path. Our rooms where right in the main hall and people would sit down in front of our windows and chat at 6:00 a.m. There are benches in front of each window so of course people sit down and have no idea they're waking you up.

Other than that, the breaksfast buffet was a bit limited but nice all the same. The bed was supercomfortable with dozens of pillows and the shower was great.

The property is very well kept with friendly and attentive staff. Everyone was helpful and the view was outstanding.

Pleasant stay, they allowed me to check in early which was wonderful after a long flight and shuttle from Antigua. I was unaware there was a wedding going on while I was there so it was quite loud until early in the morning but I understand that. Overall I enjoyed my stay and thought the town was super cute. We loved this property except for the constant smell of sewage gases both outside our room and in the bathroom. This property is obviously struggling with septic infrastructure, as I am sure most properties around the lake are too. Dogs bark pretty much all night every night, which was a minor annoyance.

If you’re traveling with kids I believe is a good place to stay cause they have a nice area for them to run around, unfortunately for us was not a good place because we came tired wanted to relax but couldn’t cause of all the noise. Also the rooms have paper thin walls you can hear everything from your neighbor. Service was good, rooms were relatively clean.

The rooms are not as nice as what yhe pictures display. They are old. There was a very tiny shampoo and shower gel. Not worth the price. There are better hotels. I thi k you pay forocation and not the room stay. The bext things are the gatdens, the views and the staff. The hotel isnot worth it.

Descent accommodations bu not outstanding. Nice grounds and great views. Wonderful breakfast Guatemalan buffet. While the staff was print to attend to my needs, the pretty much hover over you. I will have to call them the food police. While the were helping us with our luggage, the pretty much searched your belongings stating that by hotel rules (not stated ahead of booking) we weren’t allow to bring any snacks, outside food or drinks. It was super annoying!!! I don’t blame the staff but the hotel administration for such over the top intrusion. They advertise their nice pool all over their web site and Expedia page, but the pool hours are limited plus the pool is not heated. I will never stay there again.

COULD be a paradise by the lake but….

This hotel is in a prime location on the lakeside. It’s also in easy walking distance of Panajachel with good restaurants.
The staff make this place and couldn’t be more helpful or friendly. The gardens are well kept and the restaurant food was fair value. However….
Unfortunately the room looked like a motel pull in. We could have been anywhere. The decor was retro 60s not colourful Guatemala. The room was large but the bathroom not well appointed. A tiny sink, tired and hanging on the wall for its life and toilet which didn’t flush properly were not what we expected for the money paid. There wasn’t even a shelf to put a tooth brush. Just not thought through.
The restaurant is a huge room, brightly lit with no ambiance. After a meal or drink, there is no where to go of an evening to relax and chat.
Subtle lighting and some sofas and easy chairs in part of the restaurant would have been comfortable and kept us in the hotel bar longer.
This hotel needs some TLC, maintenance and thought regarding guest comfort.
Not value for money or what was anticipated.

The property has poor cleanliness in the room and bathrooms. The bathroom sink was shaking.. no hot water ... Showers don't work properly.

They didn't give me a tour of the property and inform me of their sauna timings and other facilities. When I asked them about it they said its something they don't inform guests unless asked.

Wonderful experience. The food is great and priced moderately. The staff is attentive and very inviting. The rooms are spacious and they accommodate every guest. I had 6 guests with two rooms and they made sure that all my guests had a bed. Overall, I loved the stay and will be staying here again.

The hotel was well located with recreation areas with amazing views of the volcanoes and lake Atitlan
we enjoyed our stay, but the hot water in the shower didn't get warm at all, also there is no Iron and hair dryer
For this type of accommodating that is expected as it is expected a TV which also was not provided

Everyone was super friendly and attentive. My partner got sick and they immediately contacted a doctor. Beware you’ll have to pay since the doctor doesn’t work with the establishment. Anyhow, the restaurant was meh. The service was bad because they were understaffed. Since this place is a convention center it feel although rooms are an afterthought if you’re just staying with them and not part of any conventions. If you want more of a hotel experience there Don Rodrigo is the best. I stayed at both during my trip.

Upon arrival to the hotel we could tell the view of the Lake was breathtaking. We had reservations for 3 rooms. The rooms to our opinion did not match the pictures described on site. Very basic rooms, for the price per night, the rooms were good for sleeping but no extra features. Our room had one twin bed, one full size bed and a table. There was one dresser but that was all. Bathroom also was very basic, sink looked like it was barely holding on and in the shower there was a soap holder that also looked as if was falling. The view on the other hand was spectacular. They had an infinity pool looking out to the lake and it was breath taking. We did have to ask if they could turn on the heater for the pool at night since it did get chilly. They also charged us extra at check in for any kids over the age of 8. The onsite restaurant was decent and they did offer room service.

The gardens and views are amazing. The room was comfortable and clean. Many staff members were kind but not all of them. There was some construction going on and it started very early (7:00am). There was also a lot of parties and that made a lot of noise late into the night.

Employee could not speak English and provided us with a room first floor near the parking lot. The pool was really dirth with hair and other unknown body part. The view was nice, although we were supposed to see the lake and the volcano from the room which it was not the case.

It's worth it for the view! You get a private view of the lake, the sunsets and sunrises are magnificent!
There are many places to watch, enough for everyone, there are decks, hammocks and even a swing over the lake.
The room itself was ok, a bit old and could be cleaner but then everything else doesn't matter for the view.
There are many amenities, cafe, restaurant, etc. The staff are amazing, super friendly and excellent customer service!

The room was simple. No fridge, no phone, but there’s always someone in the front desk to help. The hotel in general is very beautiful and the staff is extra nice. The restaurant people are so nice and the food was delicious. The view from the restaurant to the lake is incredible and there’s so many seating options. I also used the laundry service. I’m always skeptical of other people washing my clothes but they did an excellent job. Also they made sure my clothes were washed on the same day what was awesome. I really loved the hotel.

Stunning Views of Lake Atitlan

The staff couldn’t have been more helpful. They assistance with the airlines when there was a last minute flight change. They assisted me in finding a nearby COVID-19 testing site; and the bilingual staff was super friendly!

Not to mention the property is right on the lake!!!!!
