Cozy, quaint, great staff, lovely grounds, rooms had nice terraces and a great pool. Unique small town on Lake Atitlan, less crowded than others and town park close by with great sunsets over the lake. Good meals.

Staff was helpful, the room was clean although I thought it would have better bathroom amenities. There was also a lot of groundskeeping activity very early on Sunday morning. The food was delicious, overall it was a great and relaxing stay.

Hotel santa catarine es un lugar bien callado y acogedor. Su personal es muy amable y servvicial. Tiene una excelente vista al lago Atitla. Y los volcanes y esta ubicado muy cerca de panajachel como a 10 minutos, es exelente lugar para relajarse, se les recomienda como cinco estrellas hotel

Beautiful hotel, excellent staff and gorgeous grounds. The restaurant wasexcellent as well. We originally booked a place in San Marcos but the bathroom was not private or close. Santa cataria was much more peaceful. And the pools were wonderful.

This was a beautiful hotel very close to the lake. There was a couple things that were walkable nearby but for the most part, it would require a 15 minute ride to do anything else that would be my only complaint outside of my bed being very hard. The staff was great. The food in the hotel was a little inconsistent. I ordered the same breakfast on two different days. One day it was amazing the second time I ordered it I was really unhappy with it. Staff and presentation at the restaurant made up for it. They really cared and we’re very sweet.

This place is beautiful and well maintained. Breakfast was included and was good. Not much to do around the property. I recommend searching for tours (not the one the hotel offered/tourist trap, way too overpriced)

Lovely hotel

Hotel was great value for the price. Rooms were comfortable but walls are a bit thin, can hear a bit of noise sometimes. The hot spring pool is a huge bonus, spent a lot of time in there. Restaurant was good ate a couple of dinners there. Good view of the lake too.

I would definitely come back to this hotel. It’s beautiful. It’s right in front of the volcano. Very close to the lake where you can get a private code that takes you to different little towns. Very nice hotel

Very clean hotel with very nice front desk woman that spoke great English and helped coordinate a private boat for 6 of us to take to an Airbnb across the lake. We only stayed one night but I’d definitely recommend for a longer period of time. The rooms aren’t huge but they are nice and the grounds are pretty, well kept and you feel safe.

A really lovely property, everything is clean and beautiful. A couple of times the electricity went out, but it wasn't a big inconvenience. The staff are super helpful, we stayed here our last few days in Guatemala and the town and this place were the perfect way to end it. Also - best tortillas we had in Guatemala!!

The property had a beautiful view that allowed for a view of the volcano and water. It was near a few places to get items from the corner store. The heated pool was great and allows you to be outside even if it’s cooler. The three things that J struggled with is the influx ant infestation that takes over the rooms. I have to get them out of my items. The other thing is that the location doesn’t allow for much transportation options late so be aware. And also, the breakfast options is only 2 items which don’t leave room for differences because it’s the same every day. Other than that, the staff are nice.

Absolutely beautiful! Pools are nice, views are nice. It’s a bit far from the shops and night life but the cabs are accessible. The gate is closed at night so if you have no cell service you might be locked out. No AC but we had a fan. Overall very clean and very nice staff!

Lovely hotel, great place to stay when visiting the lake. Much better than Panajachel, though not much to do at night. Food options only in the hotel. Great pool and gardens. An evangelical church played super loud music til midnight one of the nights which was rough when you just need some rest. Hotel can arrange boat trips to nearby towns, highly recommend! But you have to ask, no handouts or information freely available when you arrive.

Absolutely gorgeous spaces

Beautiful hotel right above the lake, nearby to Panajachel. The hotel was really tastefully decorated with small touches. The rooms are spacious and the grounds are really special. The staff was fine, not super friendly but not rude. The food at the restaurant was tasty. Would totally stay here again. You feel like you’re at a place that costs a lot more.

Very charming hotel with a hot springs pool

This was a lovely hotel, very charming with attention to details. The room was really cute with a nice balcony overlooking the pool and lake. The views of the volcanos are great, but there is no direct access to the lake and unless you need to specifically come to Santa Caterina, it's pretty far from Pana and all other attractions. The best feature for me was the hot springs pool behind the main pool area. The food was wonderful as well, the best ceviche I've had. Service in general was good, but the girl at the reception didn't look very happy. One last amazing amenity: check out is at 1PM!!! You get plenty of extra time to enjoy the hotel.

A little piece of paradise in Palopo.

The staff are amazing! The waiters, gardeners and cleaners couldn’t do any more to make this an excellent stay.
The hotel is in a less busy village but a tuk tuk ride of ten mins to the busier Panajachel.
This hotel is set in beautiful gardens by Atitlán lake. The pools are a delight.
The food was well cooked and professionally served with attention to detail.
Tastefully decorated with Guatemalan paintings and objects which reflect the Mayan culture. We will return and thoroughly recommend.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful! There is a beautiful pool, a thermal springs hot pool, a game room with pool and ping pong, and gorgeous grounds. The rooms are comfortable and very nice. The dining is nice, but the food is ok. Having said that, the dining in the area, including Panajachel, is only average. Very safe place. It is right by the lake.

The hotel is in a beautiful area and close to the dock where we were able to get many private boat rides from El Capitan. They also have a great family owned restaurant nearby their and are very hospitable. I was able to play soccer with the locals as their is a street pitch nearby and thoroughly enjoyed my time.

Only downside is the restaurant, portions are very small and they use weird combinations like putting green onions on breakfast eggs, basically you go around the whole day smelling like onions.

The outdoor private patio and daily breakfast included was and added perk. The beds was a bit hard but nothing unbearable and the walls are thin so everything can be heard from the neighbors. This is the most amazing property on Lake Atitlan. We visited many of the other properties during our stay either for dinner or a day pass and always felt reassured in our decision to stay here.

For starters, unlike many of the other properties that are shoreside and dependent on the boats in order to leave, Villa Santa Catarina sits right in the heart of the town and is accessible directly by road, not up any steep hills or cobble terrain. This means you can arrive by mobile transport without having to lunge your luggage into a boat after a long day of travel.

The towns dock also sits right behind the property making it an easy access to explore without feeling obliged to go to Panajachel.

The grounds are breathtaking. No other property truly compared to this one. The staff takes such incredible pride in meeting every single detail from the gardens to the restaurant details.

The food. Omg, just for the food come. Dinner here is awing, the scenery, the culinary experience, the serving staffs warm disposition. All of it together made this such a remarkable vacation. We were always met with optimism for any dietary requests and that was such a huge plus because it’s not the case everywhere. I’d also like to reiterate how lovely the wait staff is.

What we liked most about this property was the shared understanding of rest and relax. It was great to explore during the day and come back to a property that was serene and mature.

I’m aching to go back.
