Yes room was clean and tidy. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. House keeping were also friendly and kept the room clean and made sure everything was available such as soap, water etc.
House keeping staff NAEEM was very nice and helpful, always greeted me and made sure room was clean and always asked if I needed anything. Many thanks to him.

Comfortable stay near the station

This property resembles a service apartment. It had everything I needed, including a mini kitchen equipped with plates, utensils, pots and pans. The best part was the in-room washing machine, which allowed me to do laundry without leaving the apartment. A drying rack was also provided, which I set up on the balcony. The hotel features a front desk that seems to operate 24 h. It's about a 10-min walk to the Sharaf DG station (Green Line station #5) and apparently a 25-30 min walk to the Old Soul near the harbor.

Property is very old property, own egoistic management- especially manager-Hadi. Its resturant serve very old food and very reluctant to accept feedback. They like to charge for any simple service. Seems all they care is to make money and not care for customers. Very terrible management.

We have used Golden Sands 3 and 5 on and off for 25 years, The staff,as ever, are friendly, polite and always helpful. The apartments in 5 are comfortable and very tidy however they are starting to show their age, Golden Sands 3 has had a recent make over and looks fantastic its about time for 5 to recieve the same attention. The area is ideally located for local shops and dining and is within easy walking distance to the Metro. We will be returning in 2026/27 and are looking forward to it.

Experience in Golden Sands

On checked in I was greeted with in-experience staff. I have been going to Dubai for a lot of years now, and always used Bonvoy hotels and IHG as I am a member. For a change I wanted to try the golden sands as in the past Golden sand was good place to stay, however on this visit, I am dis-appointed, the reception staff did not even know that they provide toiletries!!! Giving me wrong information. Location is ok. Apart from a bad experience from reception staff rest of my stay are ok. Staff called MOBI in the evening shift was made my stay ok, he is present at the reception helped me with my luggage when I arrive. Gave information I need that the reception should done in the first place.
I suggest reception staff Mary should have further training with the service provided and Sadam for customer service training etiquette.

The house keeping staff excellent, very helpful very friendly and credit to Golden Sands. I found some of the checkin staff to be a little hostile sometimes. Which was a shame. This is my second stay a Golden Sands 5 and would come back, just hope the check in staff given a little bit more training on being friendly and helpful, this was not all the checkin staff, some of them very nice

Can’t get in the car park until you are checked in. Reception man was on the phone and checked me in still on the phone to someone else. Had a premier room but was so run down and needed a good clean! Ac vents all black and so load! Windows so thin it sounds like the window is open and every 30 mins someone slams a door! No sleep!!!

There are many Golden Sands properties in the area. We stayed at Golden Sands 5 hotel Apartment. The room was dated and the stand up shower door was of not much use. Water was flowing from the shower to the other areas of bathroom making things messy. The towels we were given were old and thin. Kitchenette is very cramped. You will get only one complimentary water bottle for your entire stay, we were told We stayed for 4 nights. Location is not close to any metro station. Do your research before booking

The staff very nice and helpful. The only complaints I have with the apt. (510) was that the microwave was so dirty that I was unable to use it. Also the oven did not work but luckily the stove/range did. The back bathroom shower handle came off several times while trying to adjust the water temperature. I would suggest instructions on turning the hot water on for the kitchen sink. When we arrived we did not have any towels in the bathrooms, the staff did bring hand towels so we had to ask a second time to get bath towels and twice to get a hair dryer. The second bedroom had a TV but no remote. Overall the property was very clean and I would stay again.

What a bad hotel in a very bad location. It was like staying in a slum suburb.
The booking process is absolutely appalling and hotels.com totally sucks. I now hate this booking platform with a pashion.
The photos of the accommodation must have been taken when it was new. 15 years later with close to zero maintenance and the hotel is tired, dirty and very poorly maintained. The pool photos were of another hotel entirely. Such misleading advertising.
The room was dirty, with sticky floors near the entrance, the fridge had sticky shelves because they were not cleaned and the fridge couldn't keep the food cool. The air conditioning was noisy, the curtains had holes in them, the towels were threadbare.

The beds were WAY too hard. We booked family room but got an «upgrade» we didn’t want cause of problems with AC in one of the family rooms,so we got two double bed rooms instead. We couldn’t understand how this hotel could have got such a high score in hotels.com but we think the explanation lies in the hotel having 13 buildings under the same name,all the same hotel. We were in number 3 and it was old and beds very uncomfortable. People giving higher score must have been used to sleeping on wood or they were in one of the newer buildings.

It is a low-rise building conveniently located near major shopping malls. It is easily accessible by taxi and train. Being a service apartment, it is adequately equipped with essential appliances and amenities such as hot plates microwave oven, washing machine, iron, and a complement of eating and cooking utensils.

There is a small gym with running machines, weight machine and free weight, all appear to be properly maintained. The medium pool is medium size and large enough for swimming short laps.

I wasn’t happy that for my first 3 days the tv wouldn’t work & it wasn’t fixed. They ended up bringing a different one to replace it.
My only other complaint is the stove. I went to cook spaghetti, & the water barely came to a boil. It took forever to heat up to cook anything else. And the 2 burners are so close together, I couldn’t boil water on one burner, & use the other at the same time!! Golden 5 Rm 405.
Otherwise, nice employees & cleaners. My fiancé really liked Marceline. She did a great job.

Don't expect a reply.

Booked this stay as an emergency at the last minute as we were stuck in Dubai following a change of Covid-19 rules in our home country. Unlike most places in Dubai, which were sold out at such short notice, this place had lots of availability. Fortunately, we were granted permission to fly at the last minute and communicated our apologies and hoped for a gesture of understanding and goodwill (eg. exchanging for a voucher or switching for a stay later in the year) from Golden Sands. We were told to go through hotels.com, which we did, only for GS to reject our request anyway. When we asked why, GS failed to respond to us several times.
Would we recommend it? Well, like I say, we never stayed there. When reading the previous reviews, the reasons why this place had availability become clearer. But it would seem that this place prioritises short-term cash over good, long-term relations with clients anyway. And the failure to respond doesn't exactly represent professionalism :(

I travelled solo. I arrived in the hotel at 8am but they were gracious to allow me to check in early without extra charge. The room is huge with complete facilities/amenities and I am pleased that it has stove and washing machine. The area is also close to supermarkets and metro stations. Gave my wife the worst room in the hotel on check-in, taking advantage of her. Noisy room next to cafe, beware. Appliances have issues, washer start switch beware. If your Indian or Filipino you can get a good deal, westerners will be charged more for longer stays than these nationals, which is common in ME which is run by those nationals who discriminate. Be aware!
We did not enjoy our stay there and I won't return.

Property is very centrally located to train stations. The cleaners were very good. They would knock on the door and ask if room was to be cleaned which was absolutely good and very proactive.
The only thing I did not like was the balcony was never cleaned. It was full of pigeon poo, we could not stand outside, which is very unhealthy.

Really friendly and helpful staff, even at check-in at midnight. Apartment are well equipped with daily cleaning and restock of tea/coffee supplies. We booked with the Executive Lounge which provides free soft drinks and light meals / snacks throughout the day so we never had to but breakfast and an evening snack after a lonf day out was much appreciated. Gym and two pools are good and the 24HR restaurant and room service are good value. Would happily use again as good location and onlt 10 minute walk to Metro.

My family of 6 have just returned from a fabulous 10 days in Dubai. We stayed in an extremely spacious 3 bedroom apartment (1 Queen and 2 twin rooms). There was a spacious lounge, dining room, galley kitchen with door to the balcony (not the greatest view but didn't matter to us), a shower room and two bathrooms (one en-suite) as well as a laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer. The property is a 5 min walk from the nearest Metro station and a large supermarket and is close to plenty of shops and restaurants. The pool area is clean but as it is enclosed on all sides by the 7 storey building, it isn't in the sun all day.

The best bits: the staff are wonderful and nothing is too much trouble. Salah, the lifeguard, gave us some great tips of things to do and Joshua, the concierge, organised four fabulous excursions. We went on the desert safari and on our way home, he called the driver to check we had had a good time. The apartment was very comfortable, beds were made every day and tea/coffee etc were replenished.

Could be improved: the bathrooms and kitchen could do with being refreshed as they were a little tired. A table and chairs for the balcony would be a good addition.

PLEASE NOTE: the check-in information on Expedia is wrong - you don't need to check-in at Golden Sands 3 as Golden Sands 10 has its own reception desk. We arranged our airport transfer to 3, then had to spend AED25 on two taxis to take us to 10.

We loved the hotel we have been going there for the last 12 years staff is good and polite
