My stay at The Graduate was truly wonderful. The unique design throughout the hotel gave the space so much character, and the views—from both my room and the rooftop—were absolutely spectacular. I booked this stay for my 46th birthday trip to New York, and it did not disappoint.
The attendants were attentive and pleasant, the room was the perfect size, and the on-site amenities were just what I needed. I’ll definitely be returning.

Room was clean, some of the lighting was more decorative than practical, decent bathroom, view was nice.
Didn't use the panoramic rooftop bar in the end as children were not allowed and there was some process you had to follow which, wasn't explained to us at checkin and we were too tired to learn after days out.
It was time consuming to get in and out of the island with a car (30 mins to/from midtown Manhattan) but convenient by mtr inc. the cable car.

First time at this hotel on Roosevelt Island and wish we'd found it sooner. perfectly situated and feels like you've really left the city when you step out of the subway station, yet you're right across the river. The surrounding area is lovely with lots of green areas/parks, it's super walkable and the views are nice. Several cute restaurants nearby. Room is clean and quiet (it was a little warm in our room); super plush towels and wonderful water pressure in shower. The hotel lobby and seating areas are charming with cozy sitting nooks, and couches and the books on the walls give it a wonderful vibe. We'll definitely stay again.

I still cant understand my bill. I’ve read it several times, no explanation for the charges. Not all of my charges and credits appear. Reservation was through Expedia, which may be an issue, but that should be invisible to me. Transportation to and from hotel is very expensive if the tram is not used. Metro card does not work consistently. Had to use credit card several times after paying for metro card. Nice hotel. Very expensive for its location away from everything New York.

we arrived home with bed bug or flea bites, which have spread on our bodies and have lasted over a week. We informed the hotel of the problem, and they say they cleaned the room, but they denied that the bed bugs/fleas came from the hotel bed. They have done nothing to remedy our situation. A very nice hotel, but a problem like this deserves more attention and some attempt to help us with our problem

My room reeked of mildew/mold. I called to request a different room but no one at the front desk answered the phone. I communicated with the text service about it multiple times. Eventually the manager told me (in person) that his crew cleaned an AC duct and that all was well, but in fact it smelled even worse/stronger after they ran the AC. I had to keep the AC off and window open the whole time. I will not stay here again.

Very irritated that although we paid for a room with a view for a birthday weekend, we were put on the 6th floor where the view was obstructed, and then told on checkout that because we booked with Expedia that all yhey could refund was the tax. A lame excuse, though the counterperson was polite. We should have been refunded whatever the extra charge was for having the view we did not get.

The Graduate Hotel was perfect for our needs. It’s close to all of NYC’s attractions and ideally located on quiet Roosevelt Island.

This was the hotel we had always hoped to stay at, ever since we lived on the island and watched it being constructed and eventually opened following the COVID pandemic. As anticipated, the room was exceptionally stylish, offering a stunning view and excellent food at the restaurant.
However, despite the hotel being relatively new, there were signs of wear on the furniture, visible dust on the floor and in the corners, and a coffee stain on the table. That being said, the staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the location is outstanding. It allows guests to remain close to Manhattan while enjoying a quiet, cozy atmosphere with ample outdoor space on the island.

Good quality hotel in a lovely safe quiet escape from the city- but still easy access to central sites by subway or cable car/ tram ( both 5 minute walk). Felt a little cheated as rooftop terrace only open to visit a few evenings and only to over 21( teenage daughter upset!) - got impression was a rooftop cafe not a weird bar/ nightclub vibe ( had to show id and be escorted by a security man!).

It’s a very nice place to stay. Very quiet. We’ve stayed here 2 weeks at a time twice. Some things that could be better…..all the planters on the patio were dead. They have free coffee every morning but it’s terrible and they let it run out. If you are an extended stay lodger, you will need to ask for a deeper clean of your room. Breakfast for 4 was $160 in their restaurant. It was just ok. Overall, quiet and cleanliness are at the top of our list so would stay again.

My only issues were the drinking water situation as it was very difficult to get water (not sure if there was a water fountain or fill station somewhere?) and then I didn’t love security continuously asking “where I was going” every time I was going to the elevators up to my room. I believe it’s due to the roof deck access but that has nothing to do with me as a paying customer of the hotel specifically. It was bordering on offensive but I’m going to give them a pass under the assumption there was some sort of incident recently. I HIGHLY suggest management addresses this immediately.

The other things were the hard mattresses and the cost of getting a taxi into Grand Central… $60 to get essentially an uber that the desk person called. Our flight was delayed to the next morning by weather. We arrived the next morning at 0900. We were told that our booking of three nights had been cancelled and was non refundable.
I had sent an email to the hotel via Hotel.com link informing of the delay to our check-in.
On arrival the receptionist was adamant that the room was cancelled and no email had been received.
After much persuasion I managed to get her to look for the email again properly, this took quite a while, not what you want after 3 hours sleep, and after much sucking of teeth she begrudgingly re-instated our final two nights without apology.
The resort fee I feel is extortionate, as arriving on a Saturday i'm unlikely to get my free laundry done in time for Monday, Resort credit was not valid in the rooftop bar which was closed 45 minutes early on the Sunday and on a sightseeing trip to NYC i'm unlikely to at 63 to use the gym.
The room was clean with a view but with no in-room tea or coffee making.
I found the decoration of the bathroom rather disturbing as trying to pee with \"machine gun Kelly's wife\" watching you and another criminal watching over your shoulder can be off putting.

Great property. The bed is comfortable, but if you’re planning to go in the evening, make plans because the elevator gets busy with the rooftop which gets really annoying and the valley parking at $70 a night and there’s nowhere else to park.
