The staff were most helpful. The room was great pool was nice.

Only odd thing was having to walk through the bar to get two and from the pool. Little awkward on a Saturday evening. Possibly not so awkward if robes were supplied.

We loved the ambiance of the old prison and architecture to incorporate the old with the modern is beautiful.

Oh dear Adina, not good enough. The room was ok, staff friendly BUT there was no guest control of the aircon, when it worked. They even moved us and offered other rooms but the problem was hotel wide. If you wanted the temp changed you had to ring them and they happily obliger, but they never admitted or even discussed the issue.

Positives- location if you want a fairly quick airport run and the prison history is wonderful. Good sized room and kitchen facilities, comfortable bed.
Negatives- our rooms air con was malfunctioning for the entire first afternoon and we had a very uncomfortable post-flight rest before our evening out despite reassurances from the (very pleasant) staff it would be fixed by mid afternoon. Then when we returned at 11 pm the air con was working , but a function’s music beneath us kept us from sleeping. The doors to the other rooms also bang very loudly and all voices in the corridor come through the door. The shower water pressure is very poor and the hot water took a long time to come through. In the morning we tried to get into breakfast but the two floor staff were overwhelmed by just a small amount of people in the restaurant so we gave up waiting for a table and went to Coburg on a tram. Overall it was fine for the one night but we would have left after one night if we had been staying longer , and wont be returning.

During my stay I took a tumble on the street outside the hotel. The staff could not have been more helpful and supportive to me and particularly to my wife during my medical attention at hospital. Nothing was too much trouble. We readily extended our stay and have booked our next visit.

I didn't like the unexpected requirement to deposit 50 dollars on checking in. This is low class and embarrassing for them. If I use anything from the minibar or whatever, then bill my credit card.

The Standard bedroom room was very nice and was like a mini apartment with all the mod cons.

The bed most definitely is not a King bed, so they need to fix that description. The noise from the air ducts over night was loud in my room.

Service was nice, surrounds were nice.

Slightly disappointing

The room, check in service and car park were excellent. Loved the location and ease of catching trams into city centre.

The only disappointment was that I had to chase up 4 days after stay to get my holding credit returned released back into my accounts.
Not good service in this area.Every where else this is automatic upon key return and checkout.

Pentridge perfection!

Highly recommend a stay at Adina Pentridge. What a fabulous precinct with many cafes and eateries. The wine bar and restaurant was amazing. Good, new, clean hotel. I would definitely stay again.

Disspointed in accusation

Had a hot shower for about 30 min which created alot of stem as i enjoy hotter than usual shower with ne t to no cold and when i opened bathroom door the smoke alarm went off becoz of the stem. I dont smoke. The staff came down to inspect i told them what happened and now they accused me off coveri g the alarm n smoking becoz they didnt believe me mind u i had a 4 yr old with me yet they told me i couldnt stay any longer and took my deposit, banned both me n my partner who has stayed there on weekly basist and knew quite well and knew he didnt smoke either. Very disapointed

The staff absolutely make this place, its a brilliant locations with markets and shopping, breweries and tours etc. all at your doorstep, the hotel is lovely, but honestly the staff make this place what it is, they are collectively some of the loveliest people we have ever encountered, knowledgeable, happy and go out of their way to help.

The uniqueness of the original Pentridge property was so interesting. The availability of shopping/movie/dining precinct was great. My only issue is that i think $19 per night for parking in addition to the hotel rate is a little steep, especially is an area so far from the city, making a car a necessity.

Very noisy rooms on the 2nd floor/ front of building - with 3 roads converging and the tram station outside.
We requested a room change - we were moved to a TINY apartment on the 2nd floor - despite paying for a PREMIER APARTMENT and the building having 9 LEVELS.
The only view from our small living room was a large bank of solar panels and roof vents directly outside our window.
The aircon panel in our room did not work - we couldn't control the room temperature. The aircon kept turning on very cold - over several days we had to keep asking reception staff to remotely turn it off - I got up out of bed twice one night to go down to reception to ask them to remotely turn off the freezing aircon fan!! Very frustrating!!!
One day we went to reception to collect a special tag to access the pool - however, Police were interviewing reception staff in the foyer and we weren't able collect the tag or have a swim.
All up - a very disappointing experience.

Great location nice property. Prison done up very well. Room service definitely needed improving ok when it was done but missed out 2 days when sign on the door at 10am and when requested it asked what would I like done? On day of checking out which is 11am room service came at 9 am hoping I had already left ( should have checked with reception) Would have preferred a buffet breakfast not a menu, stayed 5 days menu got a bit boring.

Melbourne at its finest.

Have stayed here before and is always a pleasant stay. Staff are incredibly friendly and happy to help with any request. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. The locality is excellent with shops close by, and a quick tram ride to Lygon st or the city.

Excellence on city fringe

This was a trip down memory lane for me, having grown up in the area 50 years ago. What a fabulous precinct Pentridge has become and the hotel was great. Shout out to Maddy on the front desk. She was so friendly, welcoming and helpful. The bar is a hidden gem, pool and gym were small but excellent, very clean and comfortable. The room was clean, comfortable, had all the basics and more and a delightful balcony. All our requests and questions were dealt with in a timely fashion, thanks to efficient house keeping staff. I would highly this property and would definitely stay again.

It was handy to my home, which was being painted. But doors to rooms were heavy & banged as guests came & went. The room was poorly designed - the hand held shower too high to reach, there was no light near the bed & ceiling lights in the sleeping area far too bright. This was a studio & overpriced for what it provided.

Great hotel but creepy site.

Amazing hotel and lovely staff. I just don’t like that this gruesome historical site is being used for entertainment purposes. It’s a creepy place with a very dark history and violent deaths inside these walls. Feels haunted.
This place and these walls have some bad juju. It was the only hotel in the area and we were there for an event close by.
