The room was filthy, the carpet and skirting boards were rotting and mouldy. The bathroom had cracked tiles, mould and old hair in the corners, the busy street facing window was broken and wouldn’t close And all the wall, to and mirrors had dirty finger marks all over them!
I requested a room change but any hope of something better soon faded as we were greeted with a carbon copy! Don’t stay there, it a slum!

The bedroom was in fine condition, the bathroom was not. I didn't say anything on the first night, opting to tell the staff in the morning. When I did, the lady on the front desk said they would attend to it that day. I arrived back late that night to find it still in the same condition. I immediately told the concierge downstairs and he said there was nothing he could do so he said he'd put it in the notes for my room and I would need to deal with it the next morning. I spoke to the lady in the morning and she was not aware of said notes and said that the cleaners have said they had addressed the bathroom. Only when I showed her a photo of the urine stain left on the toilet seat did she listen to me. To not have the bathroom properly cleaned for my entire stay is both not acceptable and very concerning. When I asked for some sort of compensation, I was offered $20. I don't know what I'm meant to do with that, the bathroom was unhygienic. The staff were polite enough, but I shouldn't need a photo to be believable, nor should I need to chase something like this up.

When booking an adjoining room for family, it wasn’t available and two rooms across a hall were booked. A refund for a room was promised but nothing recieved as yet. Elevator was out of service which was very difficult when getting bags and a pram with an infant up 3 levels on the stairs. Place was run down and unfinished building everywhere with the remnants scattered around hotel

Also this site said 12 noon to leave but was told 10am...spoke to the service desk and they said they would change it....an unprofessional and ignorant answer. Air con was good...needs a microwave...fridge was not the best and kept on icing up.

Our stay was for 5nights, walking into the foyer which was modern neat and tidy, staff were friendly and welcoming.
Our room was on the second floor on an outside balcony overlooking the pool, this part of the hotels exterior still held its 1960’s charm. All looked good until we got into our room, we were hit with the smell of stale cigarette. This room was nothing like the pictures on the website, the bathroom is old with mould & rust on the bathtub, toilet brush was rusty, needed to be thrown out. The fridge constantly leaked water which we had to keep cleaning up.
No room service unless you requested it, staff were more than willing to fulfil any requests.
There was duck poo around the pool which was not cleaned up for days. The tables and chairs around the pool needed a good wipe down. The place needs a daily clean up.
Being a gold member of hotels.com I actually expected to get maybe one of the upgraded rooms at the front of the hotel.
On a positive note, the beds were comfortable, there was a kettle with coffee & tea provided, the hotel is close to tram stops, across the road is a lovely park for walking. There’s a restaurant on the ground floor which we thoroughly enjoyed, l highly recommend.
I was glad I was able to use their guest laundry which was handy as staying five nights.
If you’re staying here request one of the upgraded rooms.

The hotel is at a great location if you are visiting the Zoo. The restaurant downstairs (Moja Duck) is fantastic. The room and amenities are fine. However, WORST bed I've slept on. Or rather, TRIED to sleep on. It was like lying on wooden floorboards.

Well the hotel didnot provide any daily room service. Bins not emptied daily basis. Room was not vacuumed daily basis. Shower head too small to have a bath. Beds were tidy when room was handed over to us. The arm chair was dirty when we entered the room. Air con turns off after a few hours of use, all options of the air-conditioning remote don't work.

Curtains in the bedroom were not properly installed so the sunlight came in unabated. street/parking lot facing room had no barrier from outside noise.
Staff didn't seem knowledgable about the facility and the night staff was especially rude when asking if there was any drinkable water on the premises. vending machine was out of order and not stocked.

The room was reasonably clean, and the reception staff were courteous but not exceptionally friendly compared to other hotels of similar standing. I wasn't offered the WiFi password until late in the evening, after the reception closed. Most hotels would have this disclosed on arrival and written somewhere in the room or the door key
The room provisions are minimal—limited supply of coffee, tea, and milk capsules. The shower head is very high, but there is no shower cap, so a shampoo with every shower is unavoidable, but there was no hair dryer in the room. I had to go to the reception to get one.
The chair is very uncomfortable with a low back and well below the working bench. The sofa is slightly better with two pillows as a cushion. There was no hand or face towel.
Overall, the room is spacious, with good lighting, and the bed is comfortable.
The location is good my purpose of this business trip.

The hotel has a great location, just a short walk from the tram, which made getting around very convenient. The beds were standard and generally okay for a short stay.

However, I was quite disappointed with several aspects of the experience. The room looked noticeably different from the photos online, especially the toilet and shower area. The space had a smell of cigarette smoke upon arrival, which made it more unpleasant when the rooms are specifically non-smoking.

One of the reasons I chose this hotel was because the listing mentioned soundproof rooms, but unfortunately, this was not the case. I could clearly hear noise from outside and from the room above us. The guests upstairs were particularly loud, walking around heavily well into the early hours of Monday morning, which made it very difficult to sleep. I understand the behavior of other guests is not within the hotel's control, but if the rooms are not truly soundproof, it might be best to adjust that claim in the description to set more accurate expectations.

There were also a few maintenance issues: the ventilation fan in the toilet made a loud creaking noise, and the beds were not secured or locked in place, which made them move around easily.
Overall, I was really looking forward to a relaxing stay, but I left feeling more tired than refreshed. I hope this feedback helps to improve future guest experiences.

Hi, The Parkmore was very well presented with helpful staff and clean facilities. We booked a Premium room, but we believe that, whilst it was one of the recently refurbished rooms, its location, directly opposite the very busy Royal Parade, was pretty unbearable. We kept thinking there was a window open with vehicle noise and people, but it was just poor seals and single glazing. Very difficult to sleep in these front rooms. Go for the rear of the property!

The staff were very nice and friendly. The rooms were clean. The hotel is currently undergoing a refurbishment, so there were noisy works being carried out early in the morning. The bathroom was quite old but maybe that's the kind of thing they're fixing up. There is one cafe a block away but otherwise you have to walk a few blocks for lots of choice. There are trams tho, and the park is lovely, both sides.

Finally, and this is not the fault of the hotel, but there was a bikey group there (Finks Motorcycle Club) who were noisy, aggressive, kept us up late at night, and generally just unpleasant to be around. I guess that's what you can get at budget prices...

You walk into the apartment and the door is literally punched in with a hole to your room. The furniture was all broken and scratched, and you could hear the people in the rooms around you whispering like the walls are made out of cardboard. The door didn’t always even necessarily lock when closed. The room was just like one of those horror games where you get kidnapped.

However it did not have a microwave despite saying it would on the website, I couldn’t access any apps on the TV, and the shower head fell off the wall when I tried lifting it. I called reception (who again didn’t answer) and left a message to this effect, however did not get a call back. I repeatedly called the restaurant to order room service but no one answered and had to ask reception to call them. Luckily I was checking out the following day as I would definitely want another room with amenities that I paid for.

The room was neat, tidy, and modern, offering a great view from the window. Its proximity to public transport and being just a short distance from the city made it very convenient. However, I was not informed about ongoing renovations prior to my stay. That said, the pool and newly renovated areas looked fantastic.

One area for improvement would be the front entrance—if it were renovated for better accessibility, it would significantly enhance the property's overall presentation and make it more inviting.

The property doesn’t hide the fact that it is under renovation but given the impact of the renovations, it really is over priced. The bathroom was mouldy and badly cleaned. This isn’t acceptable at the price they charged. My night’s sleep was badly disturbed by the air conditioner making a huge amount of noise at 3am which really alarmed me. I had to turn it off and of course it took ages to get back to sleep. Very disappointing experience and not recommended.

What once was a classic motel is undergoing renovations. Our double bed was to 3/4 singles pushed together. Fell thru the crack and my feet off the end of bed. Horrible stains on carpet. As per normal - the photos look way better than the actual room and facilities. The other guests near us were extremely disrespectful and noisy. You can hear everything up the hall way and slamming doors. There is no microwave or toaster. No plates or bowls. Only 2 cups and 2 glasses. The outside area was not clean. I would not recommend this stay for children. We asked for a room swap due to noise and the staff were not helpful at all, offering no solution. The location was good. Close to the zoo and park, but I’d never stay here again.

Disappointing return stay

We had stayed here before and the previous stay was great. Unfortunately this time was disappointing.
We arrived to our room to find it had a very overwhelming cigarette smell and cigarette burns through out the carpet.
I brought this up to reception and they changed us to another room. The second room was better than the first but still had a lot of faults. There was black mould in the bathroom. There were stains on the walls. The door had been removed from the shower so the entire bathroom got wet when using the shower.
The smoke alarm was hanging from the roof and would beep every 3 or 4 minutes. I had staff cone snd look at this, the reattached it to the ceiling and put a battery in it to make it work. Unfortunately now it would go off randomly every few hours until i pressed the reset button. So it would wake us a few times each night.
The entire motel was being renovated. There was no mention of this when we booked the room but there was posters up throughout the motel explaining this. We weren't prepared for the powertool and excavation noises every day from 9am to 5pm.
The room did not look like the photos. I assume the photos were ove the renovated rooms and we were in a room that was tet to be updated.

Location was great and i would stay here again but not until the renovations were completed.

I have photos of the defects in the room, like the mould etc but the app ADD A PHOTO button is not working so i can't add them.

Great hotel for the cost. Really good location and the rooms are being upgraded. Only spent one night, but would stay longer next time.

They were doing some repair/renovation work during our stay which made the place look less attractive, but over all, a pleasant stay with helpful and accommodating staff.

The property is in major renovation, noise started 730am and on Saturday and sunday morning
The renovation was in room 220, I was room 218 so next door room
Drilling etc very very noisy

I reported this but hotel said because I booked thru Wotif then no partial refund!! So now I know when booking thru Wotif I don’t get normal service
