The check in was an unpleasant start to the stay. It took us an hour to get our garage key (wrong code provided), get into the room and then park the car in the stacker. This included two trips to the car to unload our luggage and several calls to the staff for help. The staff member was so patient. Unfortunately the phone connection (Telstra) kept dropping out in the garage and later in the apartment. The apartment had everything we needed, and was clean enough, although some of the bathroom shelves were dusty, the skirting boards hadn't been cleaned for months, and the outdoor chairs were covered in a brown film, presumably from dust and heavy rain. The bathroom consumables were of good quality and appreciated. It was helpful to have salt and pepper in the kitchen, but it would be a nice touch to provide some oil and glad wrap. Unfortunately the kitchen was very dark to cook in, as the rangehood lights weren't working. It was convenient to have the washing machine in the apartment when traveling with a child. The TV had only free to air channels, but kept my child occupied with ABC Kids and Nickelodeon. The location was excellent and it's a nice neighborhood - very close to Smith St. Overall I liked the apartment, especially the location, but found the price quite expensive, especially given I was charged USD by Expedia (without my knowledge), and I found this unethical.

The apartment we had was light and very spacious - the size was generous and good value for money in that regard. The location was extremely well placed, handy to transport, shopping and dining facilities. However, the cleanliness of the apartment was very poor. It was clear the apartment had lacked a thorough turnover clean between bookings and had not had a deep clean for an extended period of time. Whilst cleaners were sent in to address some of the issues (something which in itself was dubious), the reality is that the lack of cleanliness was such that the apartment could never have been cleaned properly mid booking. This aspect of our stay was extremely disappointing. We had family staying..they were in a different apartment in the same building. Their apartment was, by contrast, well cleaned but very small and dark for the same or a similar price, but clearly inferior. The inconsistencies were stark - the District Staff would do well to visit the apartments on their books in person and adjust their advertising and pricing accordingly.

I unfortunately parked our car in the car stacker in the underneath car park in accordance with their instructions. After collecting the car I found the front of it damaged apparently by the car stacking mechanism. I contacted the hotel to report it and informed the general manager would contact me. I also asked for the number plate (torn off the front bumper to be returned. I have not heard from the general manager and my three email have not been answered. On a later phone call I was told that I would have to pay for a call out if I wanted to get our munger plate back. Their communication is appalling. Could not possibly recommend this hotel.

Sophisticated place in great location close to some of my favourite shops, bars and restaraunts in Melbourne. Only issue was the amount of noise from people in the neighbouring area and people on the street being loud in the early morning. Even with the occasional noise issues, it was still worth the stay. Floor was a little dusty however everything else was spotless. Has everything you need and very secure. Would definatley stay again.

The floor was filthy. The soles of my husbands feet were black from walking on it. The view was not as shown in the photo, it was of a brick wall. The windows were dirty. The dishwasher wasn't cleaning the dishes properly. When I investigated half the holes in the spray arm were blocked and had to be cleaned. NOT what I expect to do on holidays.

Excellent apartment, location and customer service. Very easy to book and check in/out! The District team was very responsive and helpful! Our only recommendation for the apartment itself was to add a second mirror outside of the bathroom. It was a (minor) inconvenience when trying to get 4 people showered and ready with only one half mirror in the bathroom. Otherwise we would def stay here again!

We arrived at District Fitzroy and were able to follow the direction to get the key and get into our apartment. The apartment was clean and rooms were decent size, however I felt it had been misrepresented, since we had been places in a ground floor apartment. The photos all show balconies and views from above, and apartments with views. However the windows in the apartment started at 6 feet so the only place we could look out was to a small 3 walled enclosure with \"bars\" from the slider. The fence was not high enough to stop anyone from climbing over to get to slider. I contacted management because I was there with 2 young girls and did not feel comfortable with safety. They did move us to a beautiful apartment upstairs, which generally goes for much more money. I did feel safer there, however the Wi fi and television remote did not work for the entire time we were there.(the Wi Fi was sketchy in the first apartment as well) Being from out of the country, this was key to our being able to communicate and make reservations or plans. Spent much time at cafe's for wi fi. The TV was no big deal as we were there on vacation, however if we had spent the extra rent, I would have been quite upset. On the positive side, we loved the Fitzroy District which had great restaurants bars and boutiques. We were able to walk into the CBD though it was quite a hike for people who don't Wander. But we enjoyed the location, being a bit out of the main city was lively but laid back.

Excellent location in one of Melb's more interesting neighborhoods; good facilities & fully supplied apartment. Appreciated the assignment of a unit with ample natural light. Did not appreciate the last-minute change in check-in requirements, could have been communicated much earlier than on the arrival day. Thank goodness for a daytime arrival, and sufficient cellphone battery otherwise i would have had to sleep outside that night.

Located it the heart of Fitzroy, this hote is close to shops, cafes, bars and restaurants - but far enough away that it’s quiet.
The room was spacious with a great kitchen, although it needed a little maintenance (there was a large stain on our couch).

Great location just a short walk from Brunswick Street. Easy to get a tram to the city. Lots of wonderful restaurants all around and other great little shops also. Found the parking at this apartment very problematic. Difficult to find the apartment in the dark, down a lane. Very difficult to sort parking as you had to go up to your room to get a remote to unlock the carpark stacker. One person had to stay with the car as there was no car parking in the street. (There is no reception - all booking etc. is done on line.) Couldn't take our own car down as it had a tow bar and wouldn't fit in the car stacker - will only take small cars. If you didn't need car parking the apartment was great! Apartment was very nice and clean with everything we needed although we couldn't unlock the washing machine and the pillows were terrible. Lovely fresh linen and towels. We would stay here again because the location was great and an easy walk to trams and also the city.

Nice self contained apartment in awesome quiet location in Fitzroy - but right in the heart of it. Walking distance to so many great backstreet pubs, cafes and restaurants. The apartment itself was really warm, so great for winter but it might make Summer interesting. The requirement of sending thru photos of ID and credit cards beforehand felt a bit draconian, but it all worked out ok. There is no reception desk or anything but the key collection process worked well.

Loved our stay here. Apartment very close to many amazing bars, cafes and restaurants. Close to Smith and Brunswick streets where you will find great selection of shops. Apartment perfect for 2 couples or a family. Beds were extremely comfortable and gorgeous linen. Large well equipped kitchen with extremely large fridge! We had great weather for the 5 days we were here and made the most of the apartment's large balcony with very comfortable outdoor furniture, most evenings. Definitely will be back here next time.

This is a light and airy first floor apartment 2 minutes walk from the junction of Brunswick and Johnston streets, a 25 minute walk to the CBD or 10 minutes jumping on the nearby tram. On the edge of the trendy Fitzroy and Collingwood neighbourhoods. For 2 people, the flat is quite spacious.

My first clue that noise and parties are a problem at this hotel is when you’re given written instructions on how to deal with noisy neighbors (think… how often are you given instructions like this when you arrive at a hotel?) Obviously this is an ongoing problem!
Well the party started upstairs at midnight and kept on going – music, dancing, yelling.
No 24 hour front desk so I called the phone number on the instructions that promised “they would shut the party down”. Guess what? The phone number is not in service! I finally find another phone number off their website but you just get a 3rd party answering service. There is a company manager that lives in the building but he’s had to deal with so many parties that he doesn’t want to anymore. So YOU are told “PHONE THE POLICE”! Seriously? I’m the paying guest but a party is MY PROBLEM!!???
After repeated calls to the answering service she finally calls the guy who lives in the building. He refused to call me back so I could give him details but said the next day that he talked to the people at 2:00 AM and then he went back to sleep. WE DIDN’T! Party carried on until well after 3:00 AM. My request for some compensation was ignored.
The suite was beautiful but has laminate floors so there is bad sound transfer. It’s in a great location but if there is a problem… IT’S YOUR PROBLEM! So if you are lucky and you have considerate neighbors you will like it. So… Are you feeling lucky? Well are ya?

The unit was delightful and I enjoyed the area. The apartment was cosy and well-appointed. There were only a couple of issues. The first was that on both the Saturday and Sunday I was unable to get warm water to shower and showered and washed my hair in a cold shower - not great in winter! The second is that I followed the steps to connect to WiFi but did not get any wifi reception. That too was awkward as I was not able to contact my daughter or husband. One last problem was my inability to make the coffee machine work. That may be my ignorance but I would have liked some form of instruction to get it going.
I am sure that these were just three specific problems which are probably unusual and your hotel is usually great on all these things. Perhaps just bad timing for me and so I would not like others to be put off by my response. The apartment was modern, clean and attractive with large TVs in both lounge and bedroom.

This was our second stay here. A slight annoyance to an otherwise lovely stay was that for the second time there was a key safe issue. Arriving just after the 2pm check-in time with luggage in hand the safe would not deliver our apartment keys in spite of us entering the correct code. We had to call management to have the problem sorted out. Also, the ensuite extractor fan was very weak and the rubbish bin lid in the kitchen wouldn't close completely. Aside from these minor issues, our stay was as pleasant as last year's stay. The location is unbeatable for our purposes.

This is a modern and clean apartment hotel in a great location In Fitzroy - close to an abundant of great food places, independent arty shops, arts markets and a 50 m outdoor pool! That's just Fitzroy! Its also great for getting into the city, st kilda, Carlton, parks and museums. I was surprised by how quiet it was - which was lovely as we were travelling with 2 children.

The general presentation of the apartment was good, however we found the parquetry floor throughout to be very dirty. Even after we purchased some cleaning product and cleaned the floor ourselves, our feet again became dirty on walking within the apartment; which indicates a regular thorough cleaning is overdue. We also noted used tissues under the bed, which again indicates a less than adequate clean was performed prior to our stay. The balcony also required to be swept.
That aside, the fittings in the apartment were of quality and we appreciated the showerhead options in the bathroom - a rainfall and also a generic style with adjustable height.
In general, we enjoyed the location of the apartment and its proximity to services in the neighbourhood. The apartment is in a quiet back street and a three minute walk from the bustling Brunswick Street precinct. There is a quality liquor store (McCoppins) just around the corner and a Coles supermarket very close by.
