Toilet with glass doors was biggest downside - it doesn’t give you much privacy and it’s really annoying during the night if somebody needs to go to it: it wakes other guests in the room due to light and because toilet doors are not soundproof. Furthermore, the additional sofa bed was really noisy and uncomfortable.
On the other hand, the normal bed and pillows were great and comfy. Room was otherwise spacious, enough for our family of four. Room in general was soundproof enough but if guests from next room were on the balcony and talking it felt like they were in your room.

Fabulous hotel, we had the twin room to accomodate 4 of us. Quite spacious with a sea facing balcony. There were 2 toilets, and one was en-suite. The room description doesn't say these details, but they should mention clearly to benefit others.

We had the AI package, so food and drinks were abundant. As a part of the package, we could book 3 meals outside of their regular Azure buffet restautant, and the restaurant SABI was very good indeed. Its directly on the beach, so you can have afternoon meals on the sea.

Amazing hotel stuff. Rooms - spotless and lived up to Hilton standards.

Personally - we were all very happy and the family enjoyed a lot. We can highly recommend this hotel.

Good size, clean room with a great sea view. There was a good choice of food, but being a large hotel, it was very busy at breakfast and diner. We loved the infinity pool looking out across the water with access to the Sabi restaurant and bar.The hotel is in a great location. At the end of October the redevelopmemt of Buggiba Square had started so the road was closed meaning there was a detour path around the hoarding up the street and back when walking along the promenade.

We stayed for two weeks. The staff were extremely kind and helpful. Food was great restaurant staff were outstanding. The rooms were very nice and cleaned regularly, but the corridors were tired looking and not so clean. The music from the private beach club was too loud. It was difficult to relax and enjoy the outdoor areas of the 4* hotel with the music thudding.

Beautiful hotel! Room was absolutely perfect for our family. All inclusive food was excellent and The SABI beach club was a highlight.
St Paul’s Bay however is full of souvenir shops, Casino, Bingo etc. but we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. Malta is a great place to visit.

We stayed in a family room with two bedrooms and it was fantastic. The room was really big, with lovely sea view from the balcony. The staff were beyond wonderful. So helpful, caring and made the trip with a 15 month old so easy.
The only slight let down was the noise from a local beach bar which you could hear through the closed balcony doors each evening but it didn't stop us sleeping.

This is are second year coming to this hotel! We love it, hotel is in perfect location, very clean, staff very friendly and breakfast was very good. As a family of 6 we struggle to find a room big enough, but the hotel has the 2 bedroom room which overlooks St Paul’s bay. We spend most of our days down the new beach club called sabi. Which is free when u stay at hotel. Definitely coming back again

We have just returned from our trip to Malta. The hotel was fantastic. Public car park directly next to hotel. The hotel common areas, restaurants, pool and our room were very clean and spotless. There were always cleaners keeping the place in a great appearance. All the staff are polite and very hard working - we honestly couldn’t fault. We chose the daily breakfast option, not all inclusive - the breakfast was buffet style. Good selection of food but the quality of the food, particularly the English breakfast buffet, was not great (fried eggs were always uncooked with raw egg white, bacon was dry). The steak restaurant ( Carvv) and the Italian restaurant (Ombré) for dinner and lunch respectively were very good though - we tried them once only as we mostly ate out for lunch and dinner. Although it was also an all inclusive resort there were no fights for sunbeds by the pool first thing in the morning. We were able to find sunbeds for our family of four after our late breakfast (they have clear signs they would remove belongings on sunbeds that are unattended for more than one hour) so that was a relief. Plenty of pools for children and adults - one pool they do not allow any inflatables which is nice. Also an indoor pool. Pool depth no deeper than 1.3m in the deepest places so they were perfect for me as a non swimmer. We would definitely stay again.

I was really surprised that the hotel refused to serve me tap water, insisting I buy a plastic bottle instead. I was told the tap water is not drinkable and they didn't have a tap in the kitchen - is this really true?!

We really lucked out with a stay at Doubletree in St.Paul’s. We had arrived after a few busy days in Valletta. The hotel offers a resort style stay which made the rest of our time in Malta so relaxing. The location cannot be beat. There is so much within walking distance, like the aquarium, restaurants & a grocery store nearby. In fact, you don’t even need to leave the hotel. It offers many food options, including a cafe and bar by their pools. We really enjoyed their wonderful breakfast buffet - with so many options for all members of a family. The view over looking the beach is great! The hotel is very well maintained, and all staff members were so friendly and helpful. If you are after a resort like stay with great amenities and central location - we would highly recommend The Doubletree.

Amazing all inclusive hotel, top quality food that caters for all, branded drinks to boot too. The staff were exceptional…. With a very special mention to Niscal from the Juniper bar who made everyday we saw him memorable. Not to mention the rest of the barmen at Juniper who were very quick on serving drinks, plus the food at Juniper was delicious. Zezo, the entertainer, he should be head of operations for the animation team as he has what it takes to transform the animation team given the chance. The entertainment was very poor, out dated quizzes, and music from before 1970 and the white party that didn’t materialise as the song choices were not suited to the people who attended, and that would be my only critique on this hotel…. Revamp your entertainment and encourage them to be like Zezo…

We just returned from a 6 night stay and had an amazing time! We traveled with 4 kids and were worried that they wouldn’t have enough to keep them entertained, but we were wrong! We only left the resort one day for an excursion - the rest of the days we stayed at the main pool or the beach. All of the staff at the hotel were wonderful, and the entertainment staff made everyday so much fun with activities that we all participated in at the pool. At previous hotels we have had to get up very early to go find pool chairs, but that was not an issue here at all! Even on the weekend there was never a time when there weren’t sun loungers available- we would go down around 10, after breakfast, and have no problem finding 6 chairs together. We did all inclusive and there were always plenty of options at the buffet - at breakfast there was a man toasting whatever type of bread you wanted and he was amazing! He made it all run seamlessly and then you didn’t have to wait in a huge line. We did 2 of the included specialty restaurants- Sabi and the Juniper Lounge, both were delicious and had great service! We stayed in a family suite and had a huge balcony that we watched the sunset from every night. The beach was a cement area with loungers and a ladder into the water. We found this a great area to snorkel around and see fish, and we weren’t tracking any sand back with us! The kids especially enjoyed having gelato available to them all day long, until 11pm! We would definitely go again!

I think this could be a good review to read because there was a lot happening. I had a few issues and I would say overall I’m happy with my stay and facilities. The only thing that let it down if I’m honest was the time to respond to issues and problems. But it’s a very busy hotel and I can accept it could be tricky to deal with a high number of customers.

The only negative overall for me was the food.

We stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton Malta as a family of five—my husband, our three kids, and myself—and had a lovely time overall. The staff were warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived, and the kids were thrilled with the signature chocolate chip cookies at check-in!

Our room was spacious, clean, and had a stunning sea view that we all enjoyed. The location is perfect—right by the water and close to the bus terminal, which made exploring Malta really easy.

The kids loved the pool and beach access, and there were plenty of dining options to keep everyone happy. The hotel felt very family-friendly, and the staff were always helpful and accommodating.

The only downside was some construction noise early in the mornings, which occasionally woke us up earlier than we would have liked. It wasn’t a dealbreaker, but something to be aware of if you're a light sleeper.

Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to other families. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

The Double Tree Hotel is a wonderful hotel. It is of high standard and the staff are friendly, and helpful. The rooms are of good size and well maintained. The restaurant serves up some great food. There are 2 pool areas. Both have a different vibe, and there are another areas to relax in the gardens. All outside areas have a sea view with a sunset.

The hotel was lovely and the facilities were great. We loved the swimming pools and breakfast was delicious. Our family room (6136) with a sea view balcony was a lovely place to spend our week in Malta.

The only criticism was that the bathroom was tiny and the way the door opened made it quite difficult to get in and out. There was a lot of \"dead space\" outside the bathroom that could have been used to make this bigger so the decision to leave the bathroom so small when the bedroom was so large seems odd.

Upon arrival we were upgraded to a sea view room without asking. The room was very spacious with a huge sun terrace, a main room with queen size bed and lounge and a second bedroom with a king size bed and second bathroom.
The showers were outstanding powerful and easily adjusted (still miss my shower now)
We had bed and breakfast at breakfast there was plenty to choose all being freshly cooked in front of you, with a large selection of fruit and pastries also.
Not many good places in the local are to eat to be honest but getting a taxi was literally instantaneous and was very reasonably priced.

The stay was good overall. The location of the hotel is very near to the sea. The ambience was good at the entrance. The restaurants where good with variety of food options. Breakfast was amazing keeping happy whole family.
We booked a sea facing hotel room for family of 3 adults and one child but seems we were given 2 single beds and 1 sofa bed. The mattress quality was awful for sofa bed and one of the single bed. Bathroom was meant for couple I mean no lock to the door and the door was not closing properly. There was leak in toilet which kept the floor wet most of the time. Also the towels and tea coffee were provided according to 2 people, had to ask multiple times for an extra cups and towels. Rooms were equipped with hair dryer iron and iron board. It also had safe locker.

It was a pleasant hotel, we received an upgrade to room with a sea view because family member was \"gold\" Hilton honours member. Sadly room did not have sofa or table/chairs, so while the room was large it looked very empty.
Breakfast, was good and we could take a little bit of breakfast out for our child who did not want to come down for breakfast.

We stayed there for a week and after 3 dayswe all felt that the buffet was extremely dull, and the food is repetitive and boring. The quality of the food is great but the food is very bland. Having more themed days, more variety: Asian food, middle Eastern, Nepali, basically more international foods with spices. It's such a shame that you are not catering for the international guests at the hotel. The Ombre restaurant is better, but again the menu lacks variety and spice.

Also the Christmas music is very limited only 4/5 songs played continuously in the restaurant.

We stayed here for 6 nights last week in room 3154. The hotel is lovely and our room was perfect; we had a two bedroom queen room with a sea view. Our daughter loved having her own bedroom and bathroom! All of the staff at the hotel were just lovely polite helpful and couldn't do enough to help make our stay enjoyable. We only had breakfast but it was one of the best breakfasts that we have ever had, a huge variety of options to suit all tastes and no matter how busy it was we always found a table. The indoor pool is great although it gets busy later in the day. The outdoor pools are freshwater so are pretty cold at this time of year. We always found sunloungers available and pool towels are available at no extra charge.

There is some building work going on around the hotel but it didn't bother us and when it's all finished the hotel will be superb.

We were disappointed in Bugibba itself. It has changed so much over the last few years. So much building work going on as in the whole of Malta. It seems to want to cater for Brits and they are modelling it on Benidorm! Buggibba has lost its character and Maltese charm. A real shame.

Having said that the hotel itself is fantastic and we used it as a base to travel around the rest of Malta. A bus stop is 3 minutes walk away and you can get everywhere!

Malta is a beautiful island with history culture sunshine and wonderful food. We will be back and will definitely stay at The Doubletree Hilton again.

We stayed at the Hilton for a week. The initial room we were put in was on the ground floor by the pool but it didn’t feel private. We spoke to reception and they did change rooms the next day so were understandable on that.

There was plenty of option at the buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner, though the food was quite hit and miss. Some times really nice, other times a bit average. The Hilton had a bistro restaurant though that was available and the food there was fantastic. Coffee was also perfect in the morning so I was pleased there was this alternative.

Staff were mostly friendly but took their jobs far too seriously at times. We had an all inclusive option and as part of that their policy allowed you to order two drinks at a time on the basis they’re both for you. Where we did that we’d go to our table but kept having staff come up and reminding us of their policy. Also in the bistro restaurant there was on staff member who did on occasions make our experience uncomfortable.

Good amenities with pools. We probably wouldn’t stay there again, but it was relatively a nice place to stay.

I loved this hotel even when it was the Dolmen . I am looking forward to when the spa and outdoor private beach club is ready next year . As I was disappointed this year that it was not finished . But overall the hotel is lovely ..

Super week at the end of August, staff were very helpful and responsive, breakfast and dining options were really good and pools were great. Room was excellent, although we didn't get the type we booked on the first night and had to move and we were disappointed that the beach club was a building site and spa not available either as this was one of the reasons for choosing the hotel and felt it was a bit of false advertising tbh. Nevertheless, stunning views, relaxing stay and despite the niggles would stay again when it was all sorted.

An amazing hotel. All the staff were friendly and very helpful staff from the moment we arrived to leaving ten days later. We all enjoyed the daily activities ran by the animation team.
Parts of Malta does need a clean up and currently there is a lot of building work going on. Would be nice to return in a couple of years to see it all finished

Room was Smokey, had to change. There is no private beach despite what it says on the website. Gym is also very poor. Not even a bottle of water in the room on arrival. No shower facilities for those who leave late in the day.

Was a lovely hotel. Very helpful staff. Good food choices. The only thing that bothered me was that they were playing loud music at each of the pools. It would have been noce to not have music at one of them!

Fantastic hotel, superb staff and very clean. We only had breakfast there but that was superb, try and avoid the busy times though. The pools were superb, spotlessly clean, only let down by the constant noise from the building site right next door where they worked from around 8.30 till 5.30, 5 days a week!

The only other let down was that the fire alarm went off 3 times while we were there, walking us up twice.

But a beutiful hotel in a beautiful area.

Extremely slow service . Often forgotten drink and food orders . Noisy cranes right outside the pool area with lots of rising dust from builders works. We had no vanity mirror in our room so we were using the tv for a mirror to dry our hair. We did ask for a mirror but told that a maintenance man would have to put one up so we were refused this. We also asked if we could at least have an extension lead so we could use the mirror on the wall at the doorway which was to far away from the sockets . This request was also denied. Below par food in the main dining room with limited choice. Big improvements needed to get up to a Hilton standard. Disappointed with our stay and hope improvements are made .

There was major works in progress directly outside the hotel. The pool overlooked the road resulting in daily disturbance.
