What a find! This centrally located hotel was our home away from home. Wonderfully designed from top to bottom decorated mixing traditional and modern styles. The infinity pool was a nice welcoming place after a long day walking the paved street of Lisbon.
The morning breakfast buffet with it's fresh pastries, scrambled eggs, bacon, cheese, breads, cereal, fruits,.....is something no one should miss.
The staff made us feel welcome and were helpful with any of our requests. Everybody spoke English very well and were always smiling. The kindness of Katia at the front desk, Vera at the restaurant and Joao, the director, made our trip one to remember.

Good location in old town. Its on the street that Broadway type theaters are on-directly across in fact so can be loud when it lets out. This same street is where all the tourist restaurants and shops are. FYI, after 11am its pedestrian only street so if you arrive after you'll drag luggage a couple hundred feet on cobblestones to the hotel. Wish the rainfall shower head had some pressure for aches after long sightseeing days on hills. Ate at Cafe once-good food. Didn't use bar or pool. Clean. Would stay again. Reasonably priced for location and what you get.

Had a great stay at Florescente. It's hallways are furnished with nice little niches with old style furniture, which gives a great relaxing vibe. Room was clean, staff was friendly, location was absolutely the best I could have had.
Also pleasantly surprised it had a tiny pool area (though not 100% children friendly due to its size and being in the courtyard facing all the rooms in the hotel, but still a huge plus).
My bathroom was clean, but was due for an upgrade. The shower was a bathtub with slanting, slippery sides and rounded corners, which is not the safest way to have a shower. Also I thought the days with the awkward solid soap wrapped in paper was over. Wall hung dispensers is the thing now 😊
Great vibes in the lobby area with classic furnishing and a small bar, with outside seating as well.
Very giod breakfast with homemade eggs and good coffee.
Not much more to say, I am looking forward to coming back!

We had a fantastic stay at the Florescent Hotel.Our spacious room was cleaned and our towels/water were replaced daily. The Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was varied and my request for Soya milk was always available. It was central to many of the places we wanted to visit and walk to as we are keen walkers.

The location of the hotel is in the center of touristic Lisbon - parks, squares, shopping centers are not far away. However the hotel is located on the street that cars cannot access, so it's impossible be dropped off right at the entrance with your luggage. You have to walk with your luggage 3-4 minutes to access the hotel building. Breakfast is not included. You have to play additional $25.00 if you want to eat breakfast in the hotel.
Regarding amenities... The TV in our room was extremely small- about a size of a desktop computer monitor - yet it was mounted on the wall which looked quiet funny. There was no refrigerator, no coffee machine, and no way to ventilate the room because it was constant strong smell of fried fish and other food cooked in the area. There was also a very strong smell of garbage in the morning. Moreover, the windows of our room faced a noisy street. Songs from nearby theaters along with loud voices and yelling late into the night... cluttering of empty bottles being transported, roaring sound of garbage trucks that were aloud into that area early in the morning...

Great location within few minutes walk from Metro. On a pedestrian street with lots of restaurants and shops. Can be a bit noisy on weekends if your room is on lower level. Once you close the window, it's much quieter. Room was clean and functional. Breakfast was adequate and good. Staff

Room was very small . I booked a double and given a twin room. Room was clean.
We asked for a take away breakfast for our first morning as we had to leave before breakfast started at 7;30. We were given 2 mini pastry’s and one carton of juice for the 2 of us . The second day we pre booked a time to come down for breakfast and when we arrived we were told sorry we are full come back later .

The pool and pool bar was closed we were informed when we asked . We used the bar next to reception and waited 30 mins for our drinks, so probably best not to use it if you’re in a rush .

The hotel is next door to theatres, so expect noise and pathways to the hotel completely blocked when it’s opening time .

The hotel rooms have paper thin walls and we could hear people’s conversations like they were in the room with us as they walked outside in the corridor.

The location is excellent - just behind the main shopping street, so both relatively quiet and very safe. Everything is walkable and we were very happy here.

The hotel staff were kind, helpful and welcoming, with recommendations for car hire when we asked.

The room was as per the photos, with lovely character and a comfy bed. The bathroom was clean and water pressure was great!

Our room overlooked the street but there was barely any traffic, its a pedestrianised road.

The hotel is actually next door to the theatre and at 9am they play songs from their shows which we enjoyed listening to on our little balcony.

Breakfast was varied and fresh. Lots of healthy (and unhealthy options).

We just returned from our Portugal adventure and want to share that Hotel Florescente is a rare gem. Definitely not your average 3 start hotel. The location is great for exploring and close to the Hop on-Hop off and trams. Our room was beautifully updated, clean, and comfortable, on the quiet side of the building. The breakfast was lovely, with enough variety to satisfy us. What really sets this hotel apart in our opinion is the staff. They really went out of their way to make us feel welcome, spoiled us for our anniversary, and were so helpful with recommendations. Paulo, Nuno, Vera, and the two gals in the bar area were standouts for us!

The staff was excellent. Some of the best I’ve experienced. Not one staff member was less than exceptional. The only thing that was disappointing was that the room was the tiniest I’ve stayed in. There was only room for a bed, I could barely walk around the bed between the chair in the corner. Would have been nearly impossible to fit two people’s belongings in this room. I wouldn’t stay again for this reason but other than that it was a lovely experience with the staff and the included breakfast was a great start to the day. Comfortable bed. Perfect location.

We ordered an airport shuttle but they never came. The rest of our stay was outstanding. The staff went above and beyond to take care of all our needs. They were always smiling, attentive, and curtious.
The food at the Bistro 99 attached to hotel was superb. Will definitely return on our next visit to Lisbon.

There are a lot of great things about this hotel - nice rooms, great breakfast, convenient location. We stayed in two different rooms during our two night stay because our first room was so noisey. We were at the front of the hotel at the end that is close to the neighbouring theatre’s videos screen advertising shows ( it was repetitive and extremely loud). So our first night wasn’t great, but we loved the back room we were moved to the next night, and appreciated the manager getting this sorted for us.
