Good location. Spa not so much.

Good location, just a 4 minute walk to Ild Town. The room was small and basic but clean. The room was good enough to sleep in but not a good place to spend much time. The breakfast buffett was nice and was well attended by the staff. The pool area was a nice daily break but only a few chairs in the pool area. There were only 2 lounge chairs.
For a hotel with \"Spa\" in the name, the spa was very disappointing. We tried to book a massage as soon as the office opened on our first day. We could not get an appointment during any of the 4 days of our stay. The hotel is good for a short stay and to enjoy the pool but we I would bot choose it for a spa vacation.

Surprisingly small room and very small bed. The double bed for two people is not comfortable. The room is clean and the bathroom is good. The spa facilities look quite old. And even at breakfast there are not enough tables so people have to wait.
So for a 4 star hotel I would give 3 points out of 5. .

Kalev spa is located in a very central area of Tallinn. It’s easy to walk from there to the old town and everywhere.
The spa Center has amazing amenities: pool, spa, saunas.
I also loved the breakfast that is included in your stay.
The only thing: we had to point out to the cleaning lady that the sheets were dirty when we checked in.
Other than that I loved the spa hotel

We booked 2 rooms for 2 nights . We were charged extra €36 for rollaway bed . According to hotel website each room can acclimate 4 guests so in 2 rooms there were 5 of us . We emailed hotel about rollaway bed no reply received . First night we could not sleep as on ground floor busy road and pedestrians on one side and people running in the corridor the whole night . We complained and our rooms were changed. In these rooms the bathrooms smelled of sewage with mildew & mould in between tiles . We complained and were told to leave bathroom door , room door & window open ! As vegetarians we were given ‘ham’ sandwiches

Comfortable stay near Tallin's Old Town

The positive things: The room was very spacious, quiet and clean. The bed was very comfortable and we enjoyed a good night sleep. The hotel provides bathrobes which make it rather easy to visit the attached waterpark (one needs to bring her own slipper though). The breakfast offered lots of variety and choice. Overall the food seemed of very good quality. We also liked that the buffet area was separated from the eating area. We also liked the 5-min eggs, but one needs to abuse the espresso cups as an egg cups - no idea why no egg cups were provided.

The somewhat annoying bits: First, while on-site parking is available, there are simply not enough spaces and somehow it is not possible to use the car park on the other side of the building (it seems to be \"reserved\" for customers of the waterpark only). Second, Estonian COVID-19 restrictions during our visit require everyone to wear a mask inside. This was not being followed by some guests, in particular at the rather crowded breakfast buffet area. Hotel staff didn't show any incentive to remind (or enforce) this restriction. Third, we really would appreciate if allergens are clearly marked on the food labels. Also, it would be nice to provide plain instant coffee (i.e. without milk powder) in the rooms in case one prefers black coffee or is lactose intolerant.

The breakfast buffet is reason alone to stay here! My kid’s had a blast going down the slides and I lived swimming in the huge lap pool. Rooms were a bit small for 4 but just fine. I’d stay there again, location amazing.

We had a very nice stay at the hotel. The rooms are small but have all the necessary and desirable amenities like fridge, tv, chair, desk, war drope, hair drier etc.

The breakfast starts very late at 7:30am every day of the week.

The spa area is nice with two different warm water pools, a kid’s pool, and a 50m swimming pool as well as several water slides.
There are several sauna options and everything is clearly newly renovated and has a luxurious feel to it at a very reasonable price in a central location downtown.

The hotel was very clean and modern and the swimming pool and sauna areas were fabulous. Great forca family stay as very close to the centre of everything. Breakfast was just ok as most of the hot food was cold, however there was plenty of choice. Overall rating is very good.

Property well located, good wifi, staff friendly and clean. Downside very basic furniture, very expensive for the general standard (ten eurios for cheapest gin and tonic. Only ate breakfast there . Good selection of food but always cold so not very appetising. No bathroom products.
With a bit more attention to detail and a small amount of money spent, this could be a good hotel but would not return as it stands

Fine Tallin hotel excellent condition & location

Fine hotel and very good condition and location. Trying to first navigate and learn about the sauna and steam room area was a bit complicated. Would help if the staff located at the entrance area and store would know better English for those who don’t speak Estonian. Yet we figured it all out and really enjoyed all the amenities. Overall highly recommends this Tallin hotel. A beautiful clean, safe and extremely well preserved European and Baltic area. One of the nicest we have experienced in Europe.

We stayed in a superior room which was spacious and comfortable. Just the smell in the bathroom was disturbing. It took some time to get used to the way around the hotel.
Water park was nice, even though we left the children home. Gym was well equipped.

Would definitely benefit from Tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Coffee machine (chargeable) frequently not switched on in reception. Great location for Old Town and transport links.

Do not stay there...

Reception people was really rude and did not want to listen our compains. Rooms were dirty and uncomfortable. Bathroom was super dirty. Also there was huge amount of dust on telephone. There was some construction going on even. We were there with our friends, and there was pregnant woman among them. They gave noisy room to them, and even though we wanted all cancel our next nights (because we were traveling together) and go to another hotel. At first they didn't let us. Then after charging we went though it was their fault and their ugly hotel and rude receptionists. Also, they have taken our credit card numbers on some piece of paper for which we still have concerns that where are those papers? How securely they are stored? If somebody steals those papers (doesn't matter from trash or where) and try to steal money from our cards who is responsible? There are rules for destroying people's data, but I don't think that hotel applies them. We'll deal with that so they don't put our credit card details in danger.

In conclusion, rooms were dirty, uncomfortable, and receptionists were super rude. I want full refund.

Small detail, but our names were shown wrong on TV of hotel.

Breakfast was not perfect but still eatable.

Ideal hotel, ideal location.

Friendly and efficient check-in. Room was of a good size, with everything you needed. Large comfortable bed, air-conditioning worked well and the windows opened should you want fresh air.

Nice sized bathroom, with a good shower, with the usual toiletries supplied.

The pool and spa areas way undergoing major renovation work, so were out of use, however we weren't bothered about that, as only there for the one night and wanted to explore Tallinn. The hotel is ideally situated, right on the edge of the old town and minutes away from everything.

We would happily stay here again.

This was a convenient place to stay in Tallinn. Check in was easy and fast, the room, though small, was definitely clean and comfortable, the bathroom was big by comparison, the staff quickly and easily addressed all my concerns and queries. I slept in and so missed breakfast and can't speak to it, and as the spa is currently under renovation so I couldn't visit. I would stay again in future.

Didn't see the pool as it's being renovated - re-opens late summer 2018, if it's like the rest of the hotel it will be good.

Tallinn is well worth a visit and Helsinki is only 2 hours away on the ferry

Rentouttava kylpylä, mutta saunaosasto maksaa erikseen majoituksen päälle, eikä sillä lisämaksullakaan saanut esim. shampoota mikä olisi ollut kiva asia lisämaksullisessa saunakylpylässä. Huoneet ei ole mitenkään luksusta, itselle sattui vielä huone jossa oli kaikenlaista ongelmaa suihkun ja sähköjen toiminnan kanssa. Sijainti on aivan mahtava, silti paikkana tosi rauhallinen.

Toimiva lapsiperheille ja kylpylä oli kiva, mutta siivoukseen voisi panostaa. Huone ja erityisesti lasten leikkihuone oli todella sotkuinen eikä leikkihuonetta selvästikään siivottu tai imuroitu koko viikonlopun aikana. Myös kylpylässä oli nikotiinipusseja lattialla heti aamusta.

Huone oli siisti ja toimiva ja aamupala asiallinen myös. Kylpylä on silloin todella hyvä, jos haluaa uida matkaa, sillä keskellä on 50m pitää allas. Iso ja lämmin poreallas löytyy myös ja muutama sauna. (lisää k18 alueella lisämaksulla) liukumäet myös kivoja.

Sisäänkirjautumiseen piti jonottaa pitkään. Huonesiivoja oli epäkohtelias ja tyly. Hotellihuoneen kylpyhuone ja kylpylän suihkutilat haisivat viemärille. Aamupalalla joutui jonottamaan pöytään ohjausta ja loppui ruokalajit kesken.

Huone oli uusittu ja kauniisti sisustettu. Hyvät sängyt ja tyynyt. lisävuode tuolissa oli liian lyhyt 15-vuotiaalle nuorelle. En tiedä, olisiko saanut täysimittaisen lisävuoteen huoneeseen.

Kylpylä oli kiva ja hotellin sijainti oli tosi hyvä ihan vanhankaupungin vieressä.

Aamupala oli pettymys. Sen piti kestää klo 11 asti. Tulimme vähän 10 jälkeen mutta monet tuotteet olivat loppu, eikä niitä täydennetty. Leipävalikoima lähinnä paahtoleipää. En tiedä oliko aiemmin ollut sämpylöitä - myös croissantit loppu kun tulimme.
