The room was incredibly clean, had a beautiful view especially in the snow. Perfect location only a short walk to the ferry port if you wanted to do a day trip to Helsinki, based in the old town, only a short walk from the castle. Beautiful restaurants and bars surrounding & inside the hotel. The staff were polite and happy to help. I would definitely come back again another time, I was sad to leave, felt like a home from home.

Very limited choice, not much choice for people who don’t eat pork meat. Scramble eggs are not edible at all. Milk bottles are not properly labelled as seriously allergy hazard.

This was a very nice hotel with attentive staff. It is located within the old town so there was so much that was very close--including just outside of old town.

The only downside was my window faced a sort of back ally that was secured for use of the hotel and restaurant only (no stragglers used it). Sadly there were times I would have my windows open and have to shut them because of someone smoking stinky cigarettes below.

Other than that--it was a perfect stay there.

The bed was well past it's best before date and the noise from the nightclub was so loud we couldn't sleep. Our previous stay out room faces the parking lot and it was a great stay. The room was great too for that stay.

Right in the old town

Very good value during the week. The location was perfect snd walking distance to the old town in Tallinn. Viru Gate was 1 min walk and the Town Hall square was 5 mins walk. We had a free room upgrade.

Perfect location

The location makes this hotel by being within walking distance to everything in the old town. Only a 1 minute walk to Viru Gate. The prices during the week were very competitive, but more expensive at the weekend. The room was clean and had what we needed. The breakfast was served a long time and had cereal, porridge, eggs, sausage, fruit, cheese, salami, salad, fish and breads.

The double room I booked was very small and the bed was tired and not particularly comfortable. The shower was fine, however, and the hotel is conveniently situated for the old town. I thought the cost was pretty exorbitant considering that it didn’t include breakfast.

Poor bedding and no heating!

The first room bedding was horrible, with springs coming out of the mattress. Thankfully, I was offered a new room with better bedding.
Unfortunately, the heating in the second room did not work, even on Maximum, the room was very cold.
Overall the hotel needs definitely renovation inside the building.
Otherwise, location and price are great.

Great location, right next to the Viru Gate. Easy walking access to Old Town. Room was comfortable. Was surprised to find ear plugs amongst the provided toiletries and then realized why. On Friday and Saturday nights, there is definitely noise from festivities (usual bar crowd) outside. It's not overbearing but definitely noticeable. Did not have the noise Thursday and Sunday nights. Would recommend staying here despite noise.

The room was fine BUT as soon as we got into bed the nightclub 5m away across the passage started with EXTREMELY loud music and went on until about 6 AM. Couldn't get a wink of sleep. Swelteringly hot with windows closed (and still noisy), unbearable with them open because of the noise. Night staff very unhelpful when another guest asked for a room change, it didn't happen.
Make sure you see your room before accepting it.

An excellent location right in the heart of the old town. Check in was hassle free and the room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was tasty and good options.
The only two issues I had with the hotel was the lack of air conditioning in the room which meant I had to attempt to sleep with the windows open which meant a considerable amount of noise from the street from bars and late night revellers. Had my stay been longer I would probably have requested a room elsewhere in the hotel.
All in all the hotel was a reasonable price and was located perfectly for exploring the city.

Used this hotel two years ago also and since then the quality unfortunately went down. Additional fees are not explained ahead of time. For example parking is paid, and you have to notify the receptionist at check-in, or you’ll be fined. Reaching out to hotel staff for help did absolutely nothing. The hotel is right in the Old Tallinn, and that’s the main reason I chose to stay here the first time, but I also received excellent service. The second time proved that without excellent service, I can find another hotel maybe not as close, but that would appreciate my business.

The city center - a great stay in the vicinity of dining, shopping, and old town places. The room I received was rather small, but okay for a night or two. The bed was comfortable and clean. The rug and the floor covers looked dated and ready to be replaced. The staff was courteous and helpful.

Perfect for exploring. 3 quick notes first if you are not used to bright sun between 4am - 12pm to blinds will not keep the room dark - easily rectified by use of an eye mask, second only one small elevator - be ready to wait or be happy to take the stairs some times, third you’ll have to walk a bit for food that isn’t in the tourist area - again only a problem if you choose it to be

Perfect location in the Old Town. Gives an impression of being \"outdated and worn\". No smiling staff!
I was given a room on the 4th floor, with a view to another building in the same complex very close with distance maximum 4 metres. When, after dinner and a walk around the Old Town, I returned to the room. It then turned out that in the building I had a view of, there was a nightclub/bar with a terrace, also on the 4th floor. I had full access to the party! There was a full party and very loud music. This continued throughout the night. Absolutely hopeless!
On my request at reception the following morning, if this really wasn't something I should have been informed about? Was the answer, \"at the risk of you taking me as rude, I would ask you to read the description of the hotel better! This is Tallinn, a party city, and especially here in the Old Town, and then there is music and parties\" I have read through the description given on Rixwell's website of the hotel. There is nothing to indicate that here you must be set on sleeping to pounding high bass, and an outdoor party on the terrace of the building 4 meters away.
I cannot recommend this hotel and will naturally never stay there again

On checking in my bed had stain all over it the receptionist was pleasant and immediately changed my room. Room was very cold called reception who said she was going to get them turn the heating on which happened but room never warmed up. The only pros was the location

The location of this property is awesome! It is literally a few steps from Viru Gate as you enter the Old Town, which is perfect for tourists. It has lots of cafes and restaurants as soon as you walk out of the hotel. The staff was very helpful. The room was very large and clean. The only thing I would want other guests to know is if you are staying here over the weekend, then it will be loud. There are lots of restaurants and bars downstairs that are open until 5am in the morning, so bring your earplugs! Other than that this hotel is excellent, and I would hands down stay here again when I come back to Tallinn!

Great location. Impatient welcome. Blood by the lift which wasnt cleaned off the carpet when i left, four days after noticing it. Needs new towels and the shower was blocked. Having said all of that, Ive stayed here many times before and been generally impressed, so I'll be hoping this is a blip instead of the start of a downward trend.

Good location for exploring the old town

A good hotel, well-located for the old town. Our room was a bit cold and only had one small radiator, which was directly under a window. The room was nice and spacious and the bathroom was ample. We upgraded and had a sauna in our room, which was great. The decor is a little old-fashioned but in good condition and the room was clean. Breakfast was a pretty decent selection.

The hotel rooms were very, very dirty. In one of our rooms, the toilet had pee in it and had not been flushed or cleaned. The bathroom smelled worse than a public restroom. In the second room we reserved, there was a man’s underwear hanging on top of the hair dryer.
The carpets were filthy and the rooms smelled musky and dirty.
I question if the linens were changed between guests. I would never stay again.

A quiet, restful location with no passing traffic and only two minutes from all the lovely restaurants, museums and nice shops of the old town. The trams, buses and taxis are nearby and there is a flower market too.

Again, I thought the location and safety were great. My room, on the top floor, was hot and I couldn't regulate the temp. or open a window. It was rather spartan in amenities--I could have used an additional, softer lamp in the main room, and a plug for the sink. However, ultimately I would return. Thank you.

Huone oli ok ja saimme hyvät yöunet. Kokolattiamatto oli melko likainen eikä tehnyt mieli kävellä paljain jaloin. Vessassa ei saippua-annostelija toiminut, mutta pikkuvika.

Henkilökunta oli ystävällistä.

Aamupala oli yksinkertainen, pienehkölle hotellille tavanomainen. Saimme vatsat täyteen kuitenkin, koska oli kaikkea tarvittavaa tarjolla.

Pääsimme mukavasti kirjautumaan jo ennen klo 15.00. Valitsimme perushuoneen koska yövyimme vain yhden yön. Pientä kulumaan mutta ajoi asian. Sängyt olivat ihan mukavat. Lauantai yön juhlimiset kuuluivat hyvin mutta ei haitannut meidän nukkumista. Aamiainen kovin perus tasoa, emme käyneet syömässä 14e olisi ollut hinta. Late checkoutin saimme 10e/tunti. Asiakaspalvelija aulassa oli todella ystävällinen

Accueil très désagréable et jamais de sourire.
Chambre spacieuse avec beĺle vue (comme demandé au préalable) mais mal insonorisée.
Pas d'occultation d'une des fenêtres. Comme dans les couloirs moquette fatiguée et tachée. Eclairage peu agréable.
Lits très étroits et literie inconfortable.
Salle de bain spacieuse mais joints douche brunâtres.
Petit déjeuner copieux, machines à café très efficace mais qualité moyenne pour la nourriture.

I stayed for a week, and enjoyed the large room with seating furniture. And the price was good, I brought my AppleTV and could see my TV-things on the wall-mounted TV, which was good to have. There was only bath soap for the shower, so I was glad to bring shampoo and conditioner. Cleaning was good and only when you requested it, perfect in my book. The fridge was useful. The location is very good, just next to the Viru Gate and with in-house cafe and restaurant. Breakfast is served until 10.30 and 11 which I found very useful too, and checkout is at 12, also very good. I hate early checkouts. The room also had a water boiler, which I didn't use, but really a nice thing to have. The service was very friendly in general.

Die Unterkunft befindet sich in der Altstadt, direkt hinter der Stadtmauer. Dadurch konnten wir zu Fuß alles erreichen.
Das Hotel ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen.

It is charming like a Sowjetclinic.
The Beds are no real beds.
How shall I describe the view out of the window, the wall of the other building is 1 Meter away. In the night you don't have to go in a night club, if you wish to hear music. If you wan't to sleep, impossible.
The breakfast is not really that bad, but not that good. They have advertisements where they tell you that dieect bookers have room upgrade...
So I guees the issue was not booking direct.

Positive, the parking lot and you are direct in the old town.

Had business in Tallinn and decided to try Rixwell. Location is very good in the old town, close to both restaurants, bars and shopping.
I think it is quite torn and need renovation. Staff is doing their job but could and should be much more friendly.
Poor breakfast with swedish measures, but it will take you through the day.
